I had my pups trained with Rikki and I am SO impressed. Before training they would rarely listen to commands, they pulled while on the leash, and were constantly jumping on everyone and everything. Now (only 2 weeks post training) they are already SO much better. Their behavior is more calm and they actually want to listen. The older dog is super excited to show off her tricks! We are still working on them while they adjust to being back home in their comfort zone, but overall I am already very happy with the results and highly recommend Rikki and Off Leash K9 Training!

I've had excellent experiences training my one-year-old German Shepherd Eva with Marlon Leon! We are currently about 5 lessons into our package and Eva's progress has been incredible. After just one lesson with Marlon, Eva stopped running to the door anytime someone arrived, stopped counter surfing for food, stopped jumping on people, and had mastered sit, down, place, and off. I can honestly say that Eva has learned more in 5 lessons with Marlon than during the 3 weeks she previously had spent in a board and train program at a highly rated positive-reinforcement-only trainer in Manhattan, where she left with her previous issue of leash reactivity mostly resolved but absolutely NO obedience skills whatsoever beyond sitting for a treat. Eva no longer pulls on leash during walks and no longer relies on the head harness that her previous trainer was insistent about using, though it was clear Eva hated it as she was constantly pawing at it, AND still pulled on walks. I now walk her with just a slip lead and the remote collar and she maintains a heel position at my side. Her leash walking has become so good that we are now working on her off leash heel, with the goal of going totally off leash. This is something I never would have thought possible for Eva, especially given the extremely slow progress of our prior training experiences. The remote collar has been an excellent tool and while they sometimes have a controversial reputation, I attribute much of Eva's recent success to the remote collar. Marlon is extremely proficient with using the remote collar. Marlon is also very articulate with explaining the remote collar to you as the owner, so you can ensure that you too are using it in an effective and humane manner that your dog understands. We can now actually enjoy walks, have people come over, take Eva out to lounge in the park, and eat dinner at outdoor restaurants where she lays calmly at our side. These scenarios were totally impossible prior to working with Marlon as Eva would be all over the place. I really cannot say enough good things about him and how much he has improved my relationship with my dog.

I'm so grateful with Off-Leash K9 Training, especially with MARLON. First, he made sure to send us updates every day, pictures and also follow up messages to let us know that Enzo our two years old bully was doing ok without us asking him to do it. Before training, it was hard to have people coming over to our apartment because he jumped and barked to every person that came to visit us. Every time my husband came to me to hug me Enzo started barking and growling because he wanted my husband's attention. We couldn't be watching tv on the couch because he starts fighting with my other dog; we were so stressed about it because we love them so much that given them up was not an option. MARLON did a fantastic job correcting these bad behaviors thanks to him Enzo got better, and our relationship in the house got better as well. When he came to dropped him off, he came and walked with us explaining with details how we should correct him whenever he is misbehaving. I highly recommend Marlon, he is professional, polite and will take care of your pup while he is on training.

Our puppy still needs work on "leave it". The pup has very good leash etiquette, again with Yuruani showing us how to walk the dog. Most importantly the dog LOVES her.

He chewed my furniture, jumped on everyone, pulled the leash constantly, and tried to eat everything off the street. Since working with Angela, he's made huge progress in every area. While he's still a puppy and has his moments, he now pulls much less on walks, chews far less, and is generally much more obedient. Angela uses positive reinforcement, and Vesuvius absolutely loves seeing her -- his tail starts wagging the second she arrives. Beyond training, Angela is incredibly knowledgeable about dogs and shares valuable advice on health, products, and how to better understand the way dogs see the world. She's always punctual, caring, and checks in on him if he's not feeling well or if any issues come up. It's clear she truly loves what she does and genuinely cares about the dogs she works with. I highly recommend Angela -- she's made life with my pup so much easier and more enjoyable.

I had had a dog walker who was super unreliable (cancelled on me last minute, lost my keys twice), whose boss nickel and dimed me for everything, without taking any responsibility for any of their wrongdoings. Addison is extremely reliable and communicative. He walks Molly in her group five days a week while I'm at work. I was hesitant about her walking in a group before, but he never walks too many dogs at once, and brings his helper if needed. He sends me plenty of photos, and it's clear that she's having a blast! He really learns their personalities and tells me how she's progressing on her walks and in the group. You can tell that he cares for each individual dog so much! What a relief when I'm away at work every day.

We reached out to Phyllis for help with our very enthusiastic (some might say maniacal!) young puppy, who was not progressing as well as we'd hoped based on our own training methods. We realized we needed help--so Phyllis was our go-to expert. We arranged for a 3-lesson pack of sessions held at our apartment and also outside, each about a week apart. Each time, she brought new insight into our puppy AND into our ways of working with her. She is very attuned to small nuances in human and dog body language and tone of voice that, with practice, can redirect a bad habit without harsh or needless punishment. She is a strong proponent of positive reinforcement, redirecting "naughty" behaviors, and adjusting strategies as needed. And our pup loved and responded beautifully to her! Thanks to Phyllis, our puppy is now listening and learning better, making more progress than she had made with us alone, and is growing into the sweet, smart, and lovely pet we dreamed of. I highly recommend her for any of your dog training issues. WOOF!

A few people had recommended Shelby Semel so we decided to give it a try and were SO incredibly lucky enough to be matched with Genevieve. I have never worked with a trainer so knowledgable about dog behavior. While other trainers in the past were rigid and just used the same, standard techniques that don't work for highly reactive and anxious dogs, Gen took the time to get to know and understand our dog and provided insight into his behavior. What I appreciated most is that she was always realistic with us and our training sessions/goals never felt idealistic or unattainable. Rather, we truly focused on little steps and management which also completely shifted our own perspective on how we should be engaging with our dog going forward. Gen worked with us through a huge move, the birth of our first child, and the introduction of our nanny and we credit all of our success to her. Even outside of sessions she checks in with texts to see how things are going and genuinely cares about the progress of your dog. If you want someone who will actually take the time to understand your individual circumstances/pet and will truly work with you on creating the right plan with realistic and actionable goals, I can't recommend Gen enough.
