I had been craving pupusas, and the moment I saw they had a good variety to choose from, I knew he made the right choice. I ordered the pork with rice and beans pupusa and the chicken with beans pupusa, and both absolutely hit the spot. They were filling, flavorful, and comforting in the way only good, handmade pupusas can be. The curtido and sauce tied everything together perfectly. Honestly, I could've just stuck with the pupusas and been completely satisfied. But I was really craving plátanos, so I also ordered a side of plátanos with beans and crema ..and wow. That combination was next level. The sweetness of the plantains with the savory beans and creamy crema was so good that I've decided from now on, that's the only way I want to eat them. The whole meal kept me full and happy for hours. One thing to note: you do bus your own table here, which I personally don't mind at all! just something to be aware of when you visit. After I finished eating, I took a walk down Mississippi Avenue, which made the whole outing even better. It's such a charming stretch -- little boutique shops, a cute pet store, a piercing shop further down the street, and plenty of restaurants and dessert spots if you want to keep the day going. Comforting Salvadorian flavors, this spot is definitely worth stopping by.

When I called and asked if it's normal they said "yes, carnitas is always this greasy". It was pooling out of the burrito before I even unwrapped it. No offer to remake or refund. The inside has a good amount of seating and the decor is lively and very casual. Our waitress was kind and welcoming. You get complimentary chips & salsa. I also had the queso fundido to start. It was insanely creamy and decadent. I got the jalapeño and beans & cheese pupusas. For only 5.95 each they were pretty large. The pupusas themselves were cheesy, satisfying, and flavorful and paired great with the tangy, fresh slaw on top. I appreciated how they provide a huge container of slaw and delicious hot sauces.

I always go for the revueltas, it's revuelta or bust in my book, always extra curtido. I can never get enough curtido. The pupusas are big and have a great filling ratio, you will definitely be satisfied with the size! We also always get the pastelitos, a fantastic car snack while we're driving home. Eating here is good, too, the employees are all super nice and it's always a good experience. It's really easy to get too, as well, just off the freeway, and the prices aren't too bad. We've had other things here too, like the nacho, platanos, and probably other stuff, but I forget. Everything is always good, you can't go wrong. Definitely recommended!

Today I chose an Al pastor burrito from Fernando's Alegria and my wife had chicken in mole from the Oaxaca truck. Everyone was happy! They have both outdoor and indoor seating available.

There's 8 food carts outside, inside there are a cute little bar, a handcrafted churros, a Xocotl, mini market. On site parking for about 15 cars, then street parking at a very busy intersection so look at all directions before you walk or cross anywhere. I would definitely come back to check out the rest of the food carts when I get really hungry. For today's quick brunch while having out with a few friends, my orders were okay with the exception of fried sweet plantains. You just can't go wrong with fried sweet plantains, right? From the La Carreta Pura Vida, Costa Rican cart, I wanted the fish ceviche since I love and prefer the lime based for fish ceviche style. The cashier said they was out. She convinced me to get the Grilled Tilapia Fillet because it came with side salad, black bean, rice, and you guessed it, sweet fried plantains! I also got the watermelon with lemon. My total at this cart was $21.50. The tilapia was about 3-5 oz and salty with no flavor, salad and black been were typical, but the fried sweet plantains saved the day. The drink was okay, and not much taste of either watermelon or lemon. To got rid of the salty dish taste, I ordered plain churros mini for $5.00 from Don Bigote. They were supper busy! It took almost half an hour for my order. They do have a big menu. The churros were made fresh to order. Their sign shows handcrafted churros! I like the churros but didn't care for the artificial strawberries jelly sauce. Xocotl looked good with all the fresh fruits only so I ordered the Diablito for $7.99 since it supposed to have tamarind fruit which I love. I asked to make sure the fruit was actual tamarind and the staff said there's about 3 oz of tamarind. It was rather disappointed with slushy watery iced with some flavor tamarind.

This is not the case of Sivar's.... I've been coming to this small hole in the wall, in a middle of a busy Central American mall, next to Super Mercado in Hillsboro and I am keeping it to my heart. There is this amazing strong woman who is an angel in the kitchen! I have been trying her pupusas since she opened her place.... amazingly delicious and honestly prepared, right there, in front of you. I have been drinking her Atol de Elote and I love it... no milk. Horchata is amazing, no milk, just rice cinnamon water sugar and morro fruit. I'm talking about Salvadoran horchata here, not the milk infused Mexican stuff. Please, don't get me wrong, the Mexican horchata is delicious but the milk, it kills me, especially the condensed milk. What else? Caldo de res, beef soup. Holly smokes! Do you want beef soup that you eat it with a spoon? No need to cut your beef with a knife, because the meat was so tender and deliciously blended. Her work team and her efforts are incredible; this is my secret spot when I want to eat like a human, no industrial food here!
