Independent shops are usually reliable as they live and die by their reputation, but often times they can be hit and miss. I can only speak from my experience but I can report to you that Dave's Auto Repair is the real deal. The shop is owned and run by Armando and his family (Armando bought it from Tim, the former owner, and Dave used to run the shop). Armando knows cars, and more importantly, he knows how to treat people right. His prices were competitive or better than other quotes I got, and he didn't try to upsell me on unneccesary repairs. He did give me a heads up on a few things to keep an eye on, which I appreciated, and he even threw in a few freebies which was unexpected and much appreciated. What's also nice is that most independent shops are only open M-F but Dave's is also open on Saturdays, which makes it convenient for those with work/school during the week. I'm very happy with my experience at Dave's and it gives me piece of mind knowing that I have a great mechanic I can take my car(s) to from now on.

They showed me the original problem in their garage, and when they discovered something else after I'd left, they sent me images and talked me through what they found, confirming my approval to proceed before doing any work we hadn't yet agreed on. I held off writing this review until I drove the 5+ hours home in case it broke down in the desert. Needless to say, due to my 5 star review, that didn't happen; she's running just as well as before the engine light went on, and I highly recommend Passion's services. I also like that they have a guarantee on their work, and since it's through Nationwide I could've even used it back home in CA if there was an issue (instead of having to drive back to Vegas). ( I have never needed 4 rotors at the same time in my lifetime of driving more than 40 years. I check my tires early.) After having the service provided, I asked to keep the rotors.
