Inspected my engin and breaks for signs of future issues. Pointed out a couple things I already knew about. He was completely honest with me the whole time. Hector arrived at our home early, verified what I'd diagnosed via YouTube, and got to work. He finished in about an hour and a half, and billed me for EXACTLY what was quoted. As he did the "tear down" removing the wheel, he inspected the brakes and the wheel bearings, to give us a heads up. He gave us the ALL clear. Trusted imports helped us with a basic tune up, wheel rotation and helped fix an annoying broken lift spring for our rear cabin window. I can't believe it! Our car runs so smooth now. The steering wheel doesn't shake any more. It is solid and steady. Our mileage on a tank of gas improved by almost 50 miles on a tank of gas. Can a good mechanic make this much difference?!? Yes! Though the work they did was fine, I was underwhelmed with the customer service and prices so I never returned. Well, this year my regular shop was too busy when I needed them so I called ACR to see if they could fit me in last minute. The customer service this time was outstanding. They got me in that day, worked with my schedule, communicated with me and didn't talk down to me like most mechanics do. They were understanding of my tight (not working right now) budget and worked with me to get the cost down. Now when I need something done I call ACR first. It is true that they aren't always going to be as fast as a big chain store or the dealership service shop. They are a small business. I'm not sure how many employees they have but its only a few. If 1-2 employees get sick (like they did this past week) it's going to have an impact. So....yes, the culture has changed and IMO it's for the better. The staff actually treat you like a person and not just a dollar sign. If all you care about is getting your car in and out asap with no human interaction, go get your car serviced at the dealership shop and pay 2-3x as much. This is where you go when you want a mechanic that treats your car like it's theirs and talks with you like you're a neighbor/brother/friend, not at you like just another customer.
