I have been going to this particular location for the past 2 1/2 years and I love this studio! The teachers/staff are always friendly, energetic, and ready to lead a great workout session. The regular members are also kind, welcoming, and non-judgemental. I don't socialize as much when I'm in my "workout" mode but I've never had a negative interaction. The studio is mid-sized and I believe a full class can hold about 15-18ish people. Barre is a mixture of pilates, ballet, and yoga and it's a wonderful workout to work on the smaller muscles we tend to forget to work on while at the gym. But don't let those words scare you away! The instructors will guide you through the workouts and make adjustments on you as needed to make sure you're working the targeted muscles. It is encouraged to get there about 5-10 minutes before class starts. They do have a 5 minute grace period, but once you're beyond that time frame they will lock the doors. Once you're done with your workout there are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance to visit while you're in the area! *There is parking at the Westside Provisions District garage right behind the studio. The studio will have tickets to validate your parking so you won't have to pay! read more

This studio helped me find and maintain a workout regimen that I actually look forward to. Every instructor went out of their way to make me feel welcomed, and the patrons were also incredibly supportive and friendly. On the occasional low energy days when a workout sounded less appealing, I found myself wanting to attend class to be a part of the amazing community at the Westside studio. The thing I appreciate most about this studio is that the instructors announce modification options as part of their instructions to support a workout that is inclusive to all body types and those that are differently abled. They also encouraged us to take these modifications if we ever needed them in an incredibly uplifting way. On multiple occasions when I had incurred injuries from running, I spoke with an instructor before class who walked me through the exercises we would be doing, and discussed different options for me to tailor my workouts accordingly. Many of the instructors even checked in on me over the next few weeks when I saw them around the studio to see how my injury was healing. During classes where I was looking to challenge myself, the instructors were always there to help me perfect my form, and sounded genuinely excited for me when I was able to complete a more advanced set. Joined with an unlimited membership back in summer of 2021. It was the best decision I could've made moving to West Midtown. I've met so many amazing women my age through their group fitness classes. My favorite class format is Classic and my close second is the new format, Align! Classes are challenging but isn't that what you look for in a good workout?? I went in for my first session today- so I'm speaking from a single day's experience. I found a class on their online system and was able to sign up really quickly and pay for the class in advance ($15 for a newbie drop in). When I arrived both the receptionist and the instructor were very helpful. I filled out my obligatory waiver and the instructor gave me the run down. First, bring your own socks. If you can bring "sticky socks" (or they sell them for $12) I'd recommend that. I definitely would have benefited from sticking to the carpet at some points. The studio is a LOT smaller than I expected: a tiny entrance way, a medium-to-small sized carpeted studio, which serves as the hallway to the cubby and equipment area. I really liked the size of the studio because it felt intimate and cozy. Other studios I've been to are large and overwhelming, with many rooms and tons of people milling around and so many rooms you're not sure where to go. The size of this studio was unexpected and pleasant. As for the workout- it wasn't what I expected, but that doesn't mean it was bad. What I expected was lots of ballet moves somehow enhanced to make it more of a workout. Instead, it was more of an overall workout that sometimes used the bar as a support or balancing tool. We used light weights, a resistance band/tube, and a tiny ball as part of the workout. We worked every part of the body - arms, legs, butt, back, and yes, abs. It reminded me a lot of an Exhale Core Fusion workout, but for some reason Pure Barre seems less cult-like and overall I enjoyed it more. The hour seemed to move quickly. Some of the regulars* seemed to know the routine by heart so I wonder how much it varies from class to class or instructor to instructor. Their website didn't have many different class types other than PureBarre. Part of me likes that - for example, I LOVE LOVE LOVE they have a class at 6am and I may join just for that fact. Every gym in town has a 5am/5:30am spin class but I hate spin, and it's so hard to find something else offered before work. So what I'm saying is - I kind of like that they only offer one type of class because I don't feel like the only way I get benefit out of a membership is if I can attend classes on Tuesday at 6 and Friday at 7. *Speaking of regulars, it has been my impression that everyone who comes here is skinny, blonde, and their workout gear is ONLY lululemon. And sure, probably about 25-50% of the class I was in fits that description. But, I didn't feel too out of place. I'm a bit overweight but I still have muscle, and I found myself able to do some things that they were struggling or completely incapable of. And vic versa (I fell apart during some of the ab and butt portions). There were also people who were larger than me, much older than me, and people that were skinny but clearly haven't worked out in years. With this studio being so small it IS a little tough to ignore everyone else and only focus on yourself. One thing I really liked is that the staff comes and collects your free weights at the right time, provides mats for you halfway through the workout, and even dropped a cleaning wipe at some point (not sure when!) so that when the workout was done cleanup was simple and easy. I felt this was a really nice touch. Since my business travel schedule is really crazy and sometimes I'm out of Atlanta for 3 weeks out of the month, I wish they offered plans in the form of "class cards" instead of monthly memberships only. One last thing- remember that you're sharing the parking deck with places like YEAH Burger, West Egg, and Ormsby's. So depending on your class time, parking may be more of a cluster than you'd expect. Give yourself some time! But take the hallway from the deck that leads you to west egg and Pure Barre is on your left instead of on your right at the end of the hall. read more

I have so many good things to say about Pure Barre. Firstly, working out is never "fun" and most people don't really look forward to it, however, at this Pure Barre it is so chill but you will truly get a great workout in. It is low intensity and it's not a lot of people per class so the workout instructor can take their time really getting to know the individuals and correcting individuals so everyone is safe. I love Ciji, she is super sweet, and the workouts are great, she will always greet you with a smile. Also, if you are thinking about trying out Pure Barre, get the Groupon for a trail run. They have really good deals for 5-day classes. Tip: Get the sticky socks. Trust me you will need them! read more

Ive taken Pure Barre in multiple cities, and as regimented and systematic as it is (which is perfect - works everything equally!) I wanted to find a new barre place after moving to the city. I originally scheduled a trial class but had to cancel because I was under the weather. I didn't reschedule because I wasn't sure what my week was going to look like. In the following days, I kept getting cold calls from them. At first, it was fine. But it was always during the work day and getting a little annoying. One last time, I picked up the phone and realized it was them again so I just hung up. I tried Pure Barre via ClassPass. While the front desk was nice, they weren't overly welcoming to a newcomer, I merely filled out a waiver and was asked if I had taken a barre class before, and then the front desk gal started chatting with a regular. Thankfully I'd been to a few other barre studios in Atlanta before, so I knew the drill. Here are the pros and cons I came away with from this studio Pros: -Fantastic abs workout. I felt like we did much more ab work than I have done in other studios in the area. -Some equipment is brought to you. While it wasn't clearly labeled or explained as to what equipment to get, a woman brought around mats when they were needed, and took away weights when we were done using them. -Form was corrected. I appreciated that the instructor was hands-on, and corrected form throughout class -Parking. Parking is free in the lot located behind the shopping center. I would however make sure you allow enough time to get a spot, as it fills up during peak times. Cons: -Music. The music played was dated, and not as fun as other barre studios I had attended -Studio. The studio was very small, and the class was packed to the max. I had to modify certain moves since we were so tightly packed. The studio itself is darkly lit and carpeted, which I personally wasn't a huge fan of, but that's just my personal preference. Overall, I would take this class again, but would recommend you come with a friend your first time, so you can get the hang of things as it wasn't as welcoming to brand new barre-comers as other studios are in Atlanta. I went for my first Pure Barre session this morning at the Westside location. Wheew, what a workout!!!! Excellent location and environment to learn. The other classmates were welcoming and friendly. There was nothing intimidating about the classroom atmosphere. I reiterate -- it was quite a workout. The wonderful instructor (Tracy) was extremely personable and attentive. She walked around to check form, she demonstrated the correct movements, and she explained which muscle groups were being worked -- everything a newbie needs. I recently started Crossfit, but I hate it. This was a excellent alternative for me. The workout is just as intense, but in a different way that works better for me and my personal goals. I really am so happy I found out about Pure Barre and I can't wait to see how my body changes over the next few months. read more

5 stars. No hesitation. I walked into Pure Barre worrying that it was going to be filled with snooty girls with stuck up noses. I am so glad to say that I was 100% wrong! When I walked inside to check in, I was greeted by a friendly barre-tender who warmly welcomed me and gave me a tour of the studio and introduced me to the instructor Lauren. Lauren explained her teaching method and assured me that if I had to take a break as it was my first, that was no problem. I sat in the front per their suggestion (not hiding in the back like I would've done) and I'm so glad I did because Lauren paid attention to me and was quick to help me correctly get into the right positions. It's a different style than what I'm used to and after just 5 minutes I could feel the BURN. Legs shaking, butt muscles aching, you name it. I was sore for almost 2 days. First class I took I was immediately hooked! The front desk gals are always friends and the instructors are very helpful.

Signed up for a 3 class package at the suggestion of a friend and was excited to try the class. The sign-up email stated that there was a late cancellation fee but that was the only disclaimer. I was a little lost trying to find the location and my friend informed an instructor. No one answered the phone at the front desk so by the time I found the class the door was locked with a note stating that the door is locked for security purposes during class. This makes perfect sense to me as they sell merch and no one was at the front. What doesn't make sense however, is the girl who came to the door to tell me the door was locked "for security purposes" and that I couldn't be let into the class. Even though she was currently opening the door at that moment and I told her I'd paid for the class already. She offered me an option to stay for the next class but duh, I wanted to join the class my friend was in so that wasn't a viable option. I sent customer service a detailed email requesting a refund but the only thing I received was a text from an unidentifiable number comping me another class the next morning. As a black woman in Atlanta, being told I can't attend a class I've ALREADY paid for for "security reasons" doesn't feel good. Had the policy been stated up front this wouldn't be an issue and I don't appreciate the rudeness of the employee. Still waiting on my refund. read more

It's more like a 3.5 now. Just like having a sucky boss can make your work less fun, having a sucky instructor can make a workout less fun. I don't mean that as a slam against the previous instructor, but her style just didn't do it for me. Kerry (the owner?) ran the class this time & I liked her class a lot better. She took the time to correct my posture several times. She also kept the lights on until the very end. Apparently that part is optional after all. I would still pick Pink Barre over Pure Barre, but I'll try to make it a point to attend Kerry's class again. read more

I love Pure Barre Westside! After failing to really motivate myself on a run or with any other workout, I wanted to find something that would push me to the point of change that I've been wanted for almost a year. Pure Barre was it! This workout FLIES by and is so intense. The instructors make changes to each of the exercises that just when you can't go on anymore, they take you to a different position that works out a new thigh or seat muscle you didn't even know you had. I've been to 15 classes so far and can see real results. I am stronger than I have ever been and I even held a 90 second plank for the 1st time yesterday! The instructors at PB Westside are always so friendly and open to questions/comments after every class. They understand how hard the workout is an know exactly how to motivate you when you need it most. I recommend Pure Barre to anyone who wants to get their arm, thigh, seat, and ab muscles worked to the point of shaking and work up a serious sweat! read more

I cannot say enough great things about Pure Barre Westside and Pure Barre in general. As a person who has tried just about every workout imaginable, I can say with confidence that the technique really works. A few of my favorite things about Pure Barre are (in no particular order and by no means a comprehensive list): it's low impact so it's accessible to everyone at any fitness level; it gets easier and at the same time harder - as you master the technique and get stronger, you are able to push yourself more, it's up to you how hard each class is; every muscle group gets a workout - it takes time to change your body but I have never seen the changes I was looking for happen in such a short amount of time. Things I love about Pure Barre Westside (again, in no particular order and by no means a comprehensive list): THE INSTRUCTORS! I have always loved taking classes and know all too well that the instructor can really make or break it, but these women are fantastic. They know their stuff, they are encouraging, and they remember your name and recognize your efforts. It's such a welcoming environment. We all know that some gyms and fitness studios can be intimidating or cliquey - that's absolutely not the case here. I could go on. Give it a try, you won't regret it. read more

I recently injured my back after spending a few years focusing on weights. After taking about 4 months off I knew that the only way to stay out of back pain was to strengthen my core. I did some research and decided to try Pure Barre near my office on the Westside. I'm so glad that I did. The instructors are all great and willing to work with everyone individually. Bought a groupon to try out this new form of exercise due to a recent hip injury. Classes are attended by mostly women. Engaging workout. Instructors take time to adjust your form throughout the workout. Little movements make all the difference. You will need a couple classes to get the hang of it since the instructors move very quickly and you are expected to figure out the movement. They do have a foundations class to teach the basic movements but it's not offered frequently enough to match a busy schedule so it's easier to go straight for the classic class. read more

Pure Barre is an incredible workout, and the studio is such a fun and welcoming environment. I love that at any given class, there are people of all ages, sizes, and shapes all encouraging each other. It is an individual workout (your 55 minutes!) in a group setting, which really helps me stay accountable about working out and working hard when I'm there. I love that each class is different and challenging, and with the new addition of a cardio class and OnDemand offering, I really feel I get a lot of value for my membership. This is a great studio led by wonderful, engaging instructors. I have been to a few Pure Barre studios throughout the Southeast and this one really does go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable as soon as you walk through the door. They know almost all of their clients by name; it's pretty impressive! In addition to friendliness, I have never been to a studio that changes the routine so often; you really never do the same workout twice. Even the warm ups can vary which is really great. I recommend this studio to anyone looking for a fun, low impact but very difficult workout with some great Atlanta ladies! read more

I'm in my mid 50's and haven't been super active due to injuries - broken elbow, multiple knee surgeries and 2 cervical surgeries so this has definitely been challenging for me. I've completed 5 classes and starting to feel stronger and get the hang of it. The instructors offer options for me so I don't hurt my elbows, neck or knees and I'm able to do most of the class.
