New coffee shop in Redondo! I was sad to see Swell Deli go, but I'm excited to try more drinks from Kaffeine now after this visit. They have a standard selection of coffee and tea drinks, but the Aloha coffee was unique to me and so good. I believe it was their cold brew with pineapple and mango? So refreshing, I almost got an another one after I finished it before I realized that would be too much caffeine for me. My friend got their coconut latte (or something like that), and she loved it as well. They also have a good amount of seating and sunlight coming through the cafe if you want to stay and hang out or get some work done. read more

Nice spot. Love the outdoor seating. The inside vibe is calm and relaxing. I got the Yuzu me! Which is matcha, yuzu and milk (or milk alternative) blended and a Biscoff cookies match was nice with the bright citrus of the yuzu to complement. Biscoff cookie was soft, sheet and buttery, definitely worth a try. The vibe is laid back. A nice place to sit and chill with friends over coffee, small bites and conversation. Amazing Coffee and matcha! Always wanted to try this place out since I walk loops around Rivera Village. There's several coffee shops within this block and there's a fierce competition. This coffee shop hands down one of the best, if not the best. I ordered the Dirty matcha ($8). It was super good! A bit expensive, not gonna lie. But what was surprising is that I ordered an Iced drink, and maybe about a quarter of my cup was filled with ice. Whereas other places, at least half the cup is filled with ice. Interior is nice, there's seatings outside too. Wish they would place a trash can, where the straws are. So we have somewhere to throw it away. Felt bad for the lady cashier who was handling the order and making the drinks. She worked very hard. read more

Customer service was friendly and inviting. They're set in a really great location for other options to checkout as you walk around and drink your coffee. I liked their cold brew but I wasn't entirely sold on it. My wife had the Coconut Kiss and I did not care for it one bit. It tasted too artificial in my opinion. They have plenty of seating inside and outside the coffee shop. I ordered the strawberry matcha and it was really good. If you're getting your drink 'for here,' they serve your drink in a glass cup, which makes it feel a little more elevated. If you're taking it 'to-go', it comes in a plastic cup. The barista was nice and made our drinks well. Parking is on the street out front or around the Riviera. I would recommend this place to other people. read more

The location of this place is great - perfect spot in the riviera village. Ambiance is great - love the blue walls and the couch and chairs and natural lighting. Got an almond croissant and a pink matcha - love the name of it even thought it's basically a strawberry matcha lol. The matcha was okay. Not my favorite but okay. The almond croissant is from sweet wheat (appreciate their transparency), but sweet wheat honesty doesn't impress me very much. Good almond paste but the croissant itself isn't the best. This is a place that charges 8 to 9 dollars for a coffee and they don't have honey " The owner responded to this review and said they don't have honey because they roast their beans on site which sounds like BS to me, but you're telling me because you roast your beans on site you don't have honey for people that don't want sugar syrup in their teas or coffees make that make sense. After attending a proposal in Palos Verdes. We were looking for a coffee spot to waste time in between events as well as get my caffiene fix. Im surprised theres not too many coffee places (still open at 5pm) in PV. We stumbled upon this place in Redondo. Lots of parking (paid) all over the place. Its a small place. Lots of windows. They have a lot of matcha options as well as coffee options. Multiple seating options. Patrons here are kind of snooty. In that if your phone is playing too loudly or your talking to loudly, they side eye you. Like if your that focused on studying your flash cards maybe you should study in the quietness of your own home or somewhere else that isnt a social area... opinions only tho.... Anyways, I got their cortado. And my wife got their chai latte. Drinks come out quickly. Mines had a beautifully made heart on top. It was good. Smooth, strong. Well balanced. The Matcha was clumpy, watery and overall the wrong green color. The cutest place so cozy and warm. However disappointed with my drink. Went in on a Sunday evening was greeted by a lady at the register blond with an accent, I ordered a matcha iced latte with almond milk and when I asked her to top it off with strawberry cold foam she hesitated and said sure as if she didn't know how to make it. She seemed flustered. When I received my drink the matcha looked so milky not green at all and the cold foam tasted terrible no strawberry flavor. I set out on a long bike ride this past Saturday with one goal in mind: to reward myself with a matcha latte. That was literally my motivation to get out the door. When I arrived at what I thought was my destination, I realized I was at the wrong location so I kept riding and ended up in Redondo. I passed Kaffeine Espresso Bar and despite it not being my original planned destination, it caught my eye. I ended up circling back and decided to stop in. I was the only customer inside, though there were a couple of small groups seated outside. Since I didn't bring a lock, I brought my bike in and leaned it against the table I planned to sit at. It was completely out of the way. When I went to order, I was barely acknowledged...no greeting, no smile, just a blank stare. Not sure if it was the bike, the general vibe, or if the employee just needed more Kaffeine himself, but it definitely did not give me a good first impression. I asked for a hot matcha latte and was informed they don't make it sweet although they pointed out some sweetener options, which I declined which was a major mistake. Additionally, while I was ordering, another employee tried upselling me on a donut. I said it looked delicious but he shot back, "it tastes better." Cool...unless you're giving it to me for free and taking the calories with you, hard pass! The matcha came in a glass with a nice cream topping, but the drink itself? Meh! Totally mediocre and not worth the 15 mile bike ride!! I left wishing I'd stuck with my original plan or chosen any of the countless other spots in the area. This place is truly a hidden gem! I discovered it after craving coffee following a long walk along the Esplanade with my furry friend. I ordered the iced Dubai Pistachio Latte from their limited-time menu, and it did not disappoint. Very disappointed by the service and quality of the matcha they serve. I asked for light milk and got way too much milk and barely any strawberry puree. Both visits I ask them if this was the correct item and they seem to always be confused on how they even made my drink. I expected way better but everything was poorly done. Immediately walking into the shop -- the interior is very nice but the smell of an acidic espresso fills the air, not the greatest quality for specialty espresso based coffee drinkers. Usually if an espresso based drink is not up to my preference I will still drink it and accept that it's too acidic or bitter for my taste but this was very unpleasant to drink. It was undrinkable. The matcha was also not great, did not finish either after a few sips. In addition to what prompted me to leave this review was that they don't have lids for cold cups to go -- which is very odd.
