I work nearby so this is my go to healthy lunch spot. Although I understand other customers reviews about lost orders or it being quite pricey, I have to give it 5 stars since I frequent it so much. The food was really good, if you also want to have an allergic reaction on the side. I'm allergic to dairy and I specifically requested the veggie omelette, after being told they couldn't make me in time the shakshuka. They had said both didn't have dairy, and when I called about my allergic reaction they were completely dismissive. They wouldn't take ownership or even offer an apology, they blamed it on me. I hope in the future that they can be more considerate if there's been a mistake made. The food is very good, but I think the service could be a bit kinder. read more

Get some customer service help, it is lacking substantially & is quite the shame considering the food is good. I had never been there before so had to look at all the options. I was also confused is this place vegetarian or not? Apparently not, so make sure you check all ingredients. Of course I think it would be better to have it be totally veg*n to make things easier. There were so many things to choose from that I had a hard time deciding what to get. It's good to have options & apparently you can make your own salad but it's more costly since you only get 4 additions, which is not enough. I ended up w/ the Avo Bravo & So Nutty smoothie. Even though I enjoyed what I had, I didn't care for the fact that I felt rushed in placing my order. Even when I was at the register looking at the beverages he took another customer because he seemed to want to get them checked out. Was excited to see that Brookline got a Acai bowl place. I'm a tough critic having lived in more health conscious places like Miami/La and have been eating Acai bowls for 10 years plus. Ordered a Turmeric latte and their reg acai bowl. Turmeric latte was great and now let's try the Acai bowl. Toppings were scarce and the base was def watered down and extremely Icy tasting. I politely asked him if he adds ice/water and he said yes Ice and water. I know you dilute a bit but this was really really bad. The worst Acai bowl I have ever had. When I told him it was no good and watered down he just looked at me and said o well. I ate the toppings and left. Would never go back In there again because of the customer service. I hope he improves his bowls and stops stretching/diluting the acai for higher profit margins. I hope you see this and improve your bowls. Stop serving that awful bowl. I have come here several times, and normally enjoy a smoothie or a salad when I come. I have been impressed with the fresh taste of the food. I loved the corn chowder which was a rotating soup; they desperately need to bring that back. The paninis and salads are just mediocre, nothing too special about them. I came today for a caprese sandwich and I was highly disappointed with what I received. The sandwich was blackened burnt on one side from the toaster. I didn't notice until I got home or would've promptly returned it. Other than that, the one girl who works there with the curly hair has always been very friendly and efficient with making the food. If they can iron out the issue with inconsistent food quality, I will be sure to return soon. read more

I just moved here and my friend told me that I should go to this great juice and salad bar that she went to. When I walked in, I was kindly greater by a server and was amazed by the amazing decor. I asked my server how everything works and he politely explained. I got the potato salad with a grilled cheese and a cup of French onion soup. They were all very delicious! Then I was moved down to the register where the cashier asked me if I would like a cold press juice. I got the "Namaste" and she told me $10.48. I asked her why it was on the high side and she told me because everything is organic and that they press in house and also bottle and label everything. I understood and gave it a try. Hands down the best juice ever. This is a place that I will defiantly return to and will become a regular. They could work a little on maybe some of the juice prices but if not, that won't affect my opinion of the place considering how tasty it was. Ordered the Asian quinoa sandwich and a smoothie, spending around $18 total. The sandwich was really tastey, and the smoothie was decent. The 3 stars are for the customer service-they just didn't seem like they wanted to have customers to being with! It took a really long time to place an order when there was literally no one else in line because the one person taking the orders was busy either socializing with a table or running food (the latter I understand, the former was annoying). There were plenty of other workers who passed by me as well but they were all busy doing food prep. It could just be poor organization but a "sorry to keep you waiting!" or "So-and-so will be right with you" would go a long way if they're gonna have people awkwardly standing at the counter for 10 minutes. read more

Every time I come here the service is really bad. I live nearby and would come here a lot if I could get what I wanted more easily. They have juices in their fridge. But they also have juices on their menu, presumably so you can order them fresh. I always ask for a custom juice and they're always grumpy and confused by my order. I don't get it. Why are the juices on the menu if you aren't readily able to make them fresh? I'm not asking for anything crazy or unique. I just don't want ginger in my juice. Complicated? I think not. Pure Cold Press has great açaí bowls, juice, and avocado toast but the salads aren't the best. 90% of the actual salad is just the salad greens and the other 10% are the toppings. We took a bunch of meat-eating relatives here last night and everyone loved it. We had a huge array of their offerings. Among the hits were the tempeh BLT, a spinach wrap and all the salads. I got the custom salad for 9.50. They fill a big container with your choice of greens and you go over to the fixings bar and go to town. It was awesome, plenty of yummy veggies and protein choices including fantastic nuts like cashews and pecans. A few of us got the beautiful fresh pressed juice blends. They said they were fabulous. This place is a huge disappointment. I've been here twice so far and have not found any reason to like it. For the amount of space they have, one would think they offer a huge selection of juices and items. However, that was not the case - not even close! I got their acai bowl and it was a whooping 9+ bucks. The bowl, no, the small container was RIDICULOUSLY SMALL. There were huge chunks of ice in there and the only toppings were blueberry and strawberry. It was so disappointing! In regards to their juice, they only have 4 different kinds. For a a huge juice place, that is barely anything! Their food selection and salad reminds me of Whole Foods. Typical selections and nothing worthy of mentioning. Mind as well go to whole foods since they offer smoothies and other drinks. I was so excited about this place, but it's a huge let down. I will not be returning. I've been to Cold Press about 8 times now and love it! I understand some of the issues in the reviews regarding lack of signage and cashier flow but I have always left feeling I had a really delicious and healthy meal and figure those items just haven't been installed yet. If you only order salads the tab is REALLY reasonable and you can adjust just how much you want to eat and vary the tastes of what you order. I LOVE the Mason Jar salads and frequently take them home to serve at dinner. Unexpected items in there, quinoa! I didn't see it but it was in there with some other surprises I wouldn't add in my dinner salad at home. The juices are expensive but are SOOO delicious. I find I finish them in 4 long sips and consider them a healthy treat to myself. Cold Press is my new "go to" for a healthy and delicious meal or pick me up. read more

The vegan BLT was really, really good. I dug the garlic and perfectly ripe avocado. A little less tempeh bacon than I'd hoped, but the overall flavor more than compensated for that. One of the better takes on a veg BLT I've had and maybe the best vegan sandwich I've had in greater Boston, period. At the end of the day, that (plus proximity) ensures that I'll be back. But outside that, they've definitely got some stuff to work out. There doesn't seem to be a real routine or rhythm yet. The staff on hand (aside from the owner and some folks in the kitchen) seemed nervous and inexperienced. It seems like they could use some more seasoned servers/line chefs to both ease the process for customers and guide staff along the way. The owner (Haim?) seemed to be trying to fill that role, but it's not quite the same to have a boss telling you what to do as it is to have a peer showing you things are manageable. I could also see there being some experienced people on staff, but there being no set systems for them to exercise their experience on yet. Whatever the reason, the process of getting soup and sandwiches to go seemed very beleaguered. I don't even think it took an unreasonable amount of time, but the visible chaos and lack of clear place to stand made the wait feel long and awkward. It's a new place, though, and things are clearly still improving; the much-maligned menu has been reborn with clearly listed soup, salad, smoothie, and sandwich options. And apparently the juice bottles are nicer than they used to be. Stuff is a little pricey, but such is life and hipster health food. Juice that costs more than $3 is not for me, so I've long known I would live in a generally juice-less world, Pure Cold Press being no exception. If the soup cost, like, a dollar less, though, I would probably stop by to get it all the time. That, or blow me a way with flavor. I'd be totally down for expensive amazing soup. The lack of a protein add in bothers me. The prepared hot foods are pretty good...had a yummy lentil soup. Pricing is expensive as noted earlier. Management needs to simplify the pricing and allow customers to mix and match a combo of foods for a single price. There's a juice bar setup opening in Washington square. This place is soooo needed in Boston. If you have spent any time in Southern California, these places are everywhere (but not all of them are this good). This place is like Lemonade meets Kreation cafe, and is wonderful. Great juices, really delicious prepared, healthy food, and one killer acai bowl (again, rivals any I ever had in San Diego). I think this place is perfect for almost any time you're hungry, but especially for those days when you work out hard and want a good recovery meal/drink. WOW! Pure Cold Press is not just the bomb.com, it is the gosh darn bees knees. I don't go out to eat too often, but EVERYTIME I do, it is to this fine establishment. I have tried most things on their menu from salads, smoothies, soups, and of course their fantasric panini's! I have never once been dissapointed. Not only is the food top notch, but I have never had a more pleasurable experience with restaurant staff. They catered to all my needs and were very respectful of my many food allergies. This was my first time dining here, and I honestly think it will be the last as well. I ordered the Cauliflower and lentil soup, which was great, but not very hot. I also ordered the Asian salad as it was listed on the board. The girl working began making it with different ingredients that were listed, so I asked her if she was making the same salad listed, and she said they had changed it that morning. This was never mentioned when i ordered the salad and she seemed annoyed that I wanted the salad that is advertised in the store. She put entirely too much dressing on it, and I heard the person in line behind me get asked if they wanted it on the side or light, medium, or extra. I just felt like a burden because I wasn't informed of the change in menu as it is listed. They seemed to be out of a lot of ingredients and items as well. read more

I had read the article in the Boston Globe the other day so when I met my sister in Brookline for dinner, we decided to give Pure Cold Press a try. We weren't disappointed. The decor is so pretty, fresh, and welcoming. Haim greeted us and pointed out a few things, and Rami later shmoozed the tables - a nice touch. Even the bathroom was beautiful and spotless. My sister had the "custom salad" - a container with a base of her choice of salad greens plus selections from the salad bar. I saw hard boiled eggs, beets, feta salad, tofu, tomatoes, among other selections, some marinated. It cost about $9.50. I chose the salad that comes portioned. For this they charge by the portion; I had spinach which was mixed with roasted figs and hazelnuts, roasted cauliflower, and a feta/onion/tomato salad, It came to about $8.00. (other choices were roasted asparagus, purple quinoa salad, faro salad, baby kale, and more that I can't remember) It was delicious. Neither of us opted to try the juices but they were presented nicely on the counter. There seems to be nothing in the area like this restaurant, kosher or otherwise.
