I am absolutely horrified with the debacle I had to deal with 20 minutes ago! I had a hair appt. at another location and came in because I LOVE Aveda products and it's right near my gym! I asked the receptionist how much it would be to get a blonde touch up. She told me they had a special for $79 for a trim and touch up. I was sold! I told her I'd be back in an hour so I could go to the gym. She called me about 10 min later to inform me that they could not do a touch up on my hair it would be too light, I came back in to discuss it with her. They were really cool and offered me a deal: $90 for a mini, trim, and I -believe- a hair treatment. I was excited, I told them I'd tip VERY well and that I'd be back. Go to the gym, come back exactly an hour later. Receptionist told me to put my things down at a station and she'd let my stylist know I was in. I stared at the products for about 5 - 10 min. and was greeted by a young man who took me to a different station and literally confused me. The mini idea I guess wasn't what I was expecting - the lowlights seemed too "dark" or "natural" for the look I was going for. I understand Aveda's concept - as I said I'm a fan and have been going to Aveda salons for a while however, it also seemed unclear and the "offer" I was going to get was clearly not relayed to the stylist. I was starting to get a little frustrated since I had already cancelled my other hair appt. after some discussion about my options, I decided to stick with my original stylist since the PRICING AND CONCEPT IS STRAIGHT FORWARD. The stylist at Luxe told me, "Well I didn't talk to you in the first place." not with attitude - but that was enough for me to get up and walk out the door. I really wish you guys could have at least let him know what was going on, and made it a little clearer with your promotions/deals, and everything else instead of having me feel like a chicken with its head cut off. You guys REALLY inconvenienced my day and ruined my experience, I was really hoping to be a regular at such a quaint looking salon. Too bad. read more

Well I went in for a TRIM and color with Danica and got all my length hacked off. I'm so upset. My hair hasn't been this short in about 5 years. I'm completely dumbfounded that this even happened. My hair was healthy. I get it trimmed every 6-7 weeks. No one has ever chopped it all off like this. I specifically said NO when she said she wanted to take off 2.5 inches. She did it anyways!!! It was all I could do to leave without making a scene. Updating my review after the response I received from Luxe. Shirley contacted me shortly after seeing my post and was extremely apologetic. She acknowledged she couldn't undo what had occurred but took it very seriously and wanted to make it up to me as much as possible. She comped a keratin treatment and even gave me a large bottle of shampoo. Crosby did the keratin treatment and promised he would trim my hair properly in the future. This level of customer service means a ton. Updating my review again because I've now gone back to my old stylist at Julian August in Redlands and I learned more about how badly my hair was butchered by Danica. I knew my bangs were mutilated because I looked like Eddie Munster when she was done, but my stylist handed me a mirror and had me look at how unevenly she'd cut the back of my hair. It was supposed to be straight across. One side curved up two inches higher than the other side! He said to correct it he'd need to take off at least 2 full inches. Considering Danica had already hacked off 4-5 inches, this was such a nightmare. My hair doesn't grow fast so it's going to be YEARS to get back what she ruined. It's been 3 months since this happened and I'm still so sad and angry. I miss my long beautiful hair. read more

Just went to see Crosby. He's a nice man, but my hair didn't turn out even remotely what I wanted. I felt as though he rushed through. He knew it didn't look good. He wanted to fix it, but I wasn't confident he could, so I'll go to someone who I have confidence that can fix it. My hair looks awful, I've had to wear a hat until I can see someone to fix it. Also, they have someone else blow drying hair? The receptionist maybe? She doesn't know what she's doing, my hair was flat and frizzy looking. So, $150 later, very nice man, but I won't be going back. Wish I could get my money back. read more

I went in about a month ago and booked with Emily, I saw her page on Facebook and thought I'd give her a try because her work looked good online, she was pleasant while booking me but quickly felt uneasy after meeting her, the salon is open and Airy and I choose the salon because I heard good thing about Aveda products. So the salon itself was nice, she on the other hand seemed annoyed and rushed almost but figured maybe she had a long day, although my appointment was scheduled for 10, I don't know. I was giving her the benefit of the doubt until we started making small talk after our initial consultation. I brought up That I liked the salon location and she said something to the effect of its nice because it's not that ghetto, and Said the amount of African Americans is low there that might be why and I was completely thrown off and uncomfortable. Her whole vibe was off, she seemed racist and unhappy doing her job. I'll definitely not be going back. Lastly looking through my hair afterwards, it is spotty. With salons opening and closing I'm sad this was an unpleasant experience. When I reached out she mentioned She could do my hair at her place and charge me less that way she also didn't have to deal with her boss. Very unprofessional. read more

Walked in for a scalp treatment as this was the only salon in the area I could find that offered this type of service. My scalp had become increasingly oily and I had clogged my follicles due to the constant use of dry shampoo in-between washes. I was able to see Lindsay within one hour of walking in. She was professional and knowledgable of the products that she was using on my hair. I am not very familiar with Aveda products; however, I could tell such a positive difference in my hair that I went home and bought some of their products online! My scalp is refreshed and my hair is soft and so much more manageable! Lindsay also gave me a great blowout that has lasted several days. Went to this salon specifically to see Lily. She's the best, she knows her craft to a teeee. I hadn't touched my hair in years, it needed life and that's exactly why she did. I showed her a few pictures I had been looking at and somehow she put them all together and made my hair feel brand spanking new. The salon and staff were very nice, very welcoming, friendly, they made it so comfortable to be there. They have coffee, tea and water all offered to you multiple times. Not only did Lily bring my hair back to life she also guided me when I asked her on how to keep it healthy, she's extremely knowledgeable. I went to the salon on a whim and wanted to do something totally different with my hair. My hair stylist was Lily and she was AMAZING!!! oh my goodness, I haven't touched my hair in years and she did EXACTLY what I wanted. She gave me a balayage and really accented the natural color of my hair. The entire staff was so welcoming and warming. it is a small salon but feels so cozy and warm. There is water, tea and coffee available and I got offered a beverage at least three times during my visit from different staff, I truly loved every vibe this salon offered and will be back for more. No greeting, no look to check the appointment book to see who I possibly could be. If I didn't need a facial, I would have walked out! Brow beware! I'm new to the area and needed a brow wax. I was running errands in the shopping mall where Luxe is located and decided to stop by. The esthetician squeezed me in, never introduced herself, was completely unprofessional, and worst of all, she didn't listen to what I asked for. I love my full brows and just needed a clean up, which I explained to her. After what seems like the longest brow wax ever, I left the salon paying top dollar ($20) for a "Supercuts" type service. Not only are my brows thinner than I have seen them, but they have no arch. I will never return! read more

I've been a client of Shirleys for many years now, and this review is long overdue! She does a great job w/not only the cut/style of my hair, but the color and overall condition! I am so pleased w/her expertise in working w/my fine, thin hair! I had a bad time w/my hair since last year; seemed to stop growing, and the condition was limp and dull for no known reason. Shirley worked her magic w/my hair over the past year, and now my hair is growing, has very good body and bounce to it, and the overall shine and condition of my hair is amazing! I am so fortunate to have such a competent, caring hair stylist as Shirley! As for the rest, the staff are very friendly, they even offer complimentary hand massages sometimes while you wait! What a joke!! I went in for a hair cut, highlights & style with their advertised coupon. My apt. Was with the owner, older blond lady. Not only did she take forever because of personal conversations, my hair was damaged from being over processed, ended up being dry & brittle. She had another stylist apply a dark toner because the highlights were so light and her next client was there. Needless to say, I was not given a blowdry/style. A styling lotion was put in my hair and I was told beat to let it air dry. Once I got home and my hair was dry, I realized why they wanted me to leave with it wet, so I wouldn't notice the overly processed highlights which the toner did not tone down much. Within three washes, the toner washed out and I was horrified that a professional stylist could do this. I called to let her know and I was told there's nothing she could do about it since I paid for, tipped, and left the salon, and said I must have been satisfied that day or I would have said something then. Less than one week from the appointment I dyed my hair with a permanent color to cover up the over processed highlights. I've never been to a stylist so unprofessional. I can only recommend against the owner. Perhaps that is why she offers a great coupon, desperate for business? Update... just was told by my friend, this used to be "Blondies Salon" at another location till they reopened here under a new name. Check out reviews for their old name and you'll see. read more

A couple months ago I had a wonderful experience getting my first facial ever by Gloria! She customized my facial which I totally recommend because she really looks at your skin and knows exactly what to do. Also, she's so knowledgeable about recommending products for your skin and making sure you come back to see your progress. She also waxes my eyebrows and knows exactly how to shape them. I moved to the neighborhood near this salon so I gave it a shot. As you know, it's scary going to a new hair stylist but Shirley gave me the best hair cut and color I've had in years! She took a lot of time with me and had a plan to repair the damage. I have fine hair and not all stylists get how to make fine hair look fuller. I've now been going for 6 months and I'm a loyal client! I always loved Aveda products (and their rewards program!) but I had strayed away from them based on other stylists' recommendations. Now I'm using Aveda products again, and both my hair and skin are so much healthier. I recently had a wonderful facial with Gloria! I went to this salon since I thought maybe something new and had some extra money. Well, my stylist was ok, cut ok, color, just dark hair. I am a red head. Was going to have brows tinted and shaped, the waxing of the face and chin. Instead, the stylist who did my dull color put it on my brows, cool, normally I get it put on by my previous stylist. Was so disappointed, realized they are paid on commission which is why they push their product. Even with a $20 coupon, I paid a fortune for a color the couldn't touch my other stylist. Then I am told they screwed up and would have to wait a hour for my waxing. Told them I would come back tomorrow which I will since I NEED it done. They charged me $20 to put the color on my hair on my brows. I look like Groucho. To the tune of $185.00 I left, went home and cried. I got a call from the owner who was very nice and told me they would fix it. Had the most professional wax ever. They put highlights in my hair and it is beautiful. They were very gracious to me. First of all, when I called in to make an appointment, they said it would be approximately $50 and that they would wash, cut, and style my hair for graduation. I specifically told them I had to be on time for graduation, but when another customer came in, they put her in front of me and made me just sit in the chair for 45 minutes. Because all the sinks were filled, the hairstylist just skipped the wash and cut my hair dry. As for the style, the inexperienced hair stylist did not know how to curl hair;he first straightened my already straight hair, then tried to use a flat-iron to try to curl my hair, then restraightened it after he messed up, then asked another stylist to use a wand to curl my hair. In the end, my "$50 wash, cut, style" turned out to be a $75 sit, wait, trim. And because of their inefficiency, I was late to my own graduation. read more
