I came here to catch up with some friends on a busy Saturday afternoon as the original place we were scheduled to meet up at was too full. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a decently sized space with a good amount of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love seeing the spread of goods at all the Purebread locations and picking what is appetizing to the eye. The coffee and food weren't bad but it's definitely the variety that is its strongest suit.

A great place for sweet treats and coffee/tea. There's a good selection of baked goodies - cookies, bars, cakes, breads and scones for all occasions. It was worth the drive after reading the reviews. Food: 5/5 - we tried the brownie (gluten free) and blackberry lemon bar. Our favourite was the brownie. Both were tasty and fresh. If you need a cake for a special occasion, they have whole cakes and loaves available. The prices were reasonable considering it was good quality. They had a couple of samplings near the cash register. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Atmosphere: 5/5 - seating is available with a nice vibe to the place[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service: 5/5 - servers were friendly. I'll be back to try their other tasty treats. If you're looking for sweet or savoury treats for any occasion that is tasty and of 'Pure' goodness, look no further than Purebread.

Amazing and delicious baked goods, savoury and sweet. Purebread does not disappoint. Currently they serve you at the door, and have their pastries displayed in the window. It was my first time at this location, and it looks a bit more spacious than their W Hastings location. I like how they are keeping their baked goods at the front - still visible to help customers decide, but seems more sanitary. Went a bit crazy and tried the following items, which I will rank from most to least favourite: Bacon, cheddar, chive scone ~$4.65: loaded with sooo much cheese, lots of bacon bits, tons of flavour Cheddar and bacon cornbread ~$4.50: super cheesy, very moist cornbread packed with flavour Hominy pie ~$6: tasty potatoes, peas, and onion mixture inside a flaky pastry Chubby chocolate cookie $3.50: so chocolaty like a brownie, crumbly too with walnuts, very decadent and delicious Bacon and egg brioche ~$6: very buttery, packed with an egg and cheese baked inside, bacon was not too visible, think it might be Canadian bacon, but could definitely taste it Apple crumble tart/mini pie ~$6: like an apple pie in a butter tart form, very good and not too sweet Asiago and rosemary loaf $7: light taste of asiago cheese and rosemary Coconut macaroon with dark chocolate ~$4: a bit on the sweet side, but I love coconut so I like it, and the dark chocolate works well It was hard to rank these items, as everything was super good and delicious, but I do think I would prefer the jalapeno and cheddar loaf over the asiago and rosemary (they didn't have it that day). Yes, maybe it's a bit on the pricey side, but I think the taste and quality of their baked goods, plus how packed everything was with bacon or nuts etc. makes it worth it. Overall, I was not disappointed with anything I got, I'd get them all again but maybe not because I'd also want to try other things as their selection is so extensive! Yum!

As soon as I walked in I was pleasantly surprised by the number of bakery choices and their presentation. Purebread is so much than bread, the atmosphere and service is warm and inviting. The servers have cute little hair scarves, which leave you with a country, homespun ambiance. As usual we had Americanos with a savoury and sweet scone. The cheese scone was probably the best we've ever had, even though the centre was slightly undercooked. The blackberry scone was amazing.! Coffee was pretty good, the condiment station was a little small but very well stocked. There are a few tables and a bench seating area inside which was very nice. Overall very clean, well organized and definitely a first class coffee shop/ bakery.

A bakery in Kitsilano with a beautiful display window of various breads and pastries. Tons of vegan items and gluten free items. However, the only vegan AND gluten free item was a chocolate chip cookie. It was big, thick, crunchy and yummy. My niece ordered a flourless brownie but they gave her a vegan one. When she went back to inform them, they gave her the correct one and let her keep the other one as well.

I'm a big fan of all baked goods, so when I came through the area to have lunch with a friend I had to drag her here to grab something to eat afterwards. Purebread has quite the variety of baked goods available and it took me a second to sort through everything they have available. I was pretty pleased with the food I bought (Cookies and Cream loaf and the drunken apple blondie) and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm definitely going to get the cookies and cream loaf again... I can't speak for the coffee that they offer, but I'm excited to try more of their baked goods.

My trip to Purebread in Kits was sooo joyful! I love looking at chocolates and pastries and little desserts! I worked nearby and thought to buy myself and colleagues a mini Flourless Chocolate Cake for being amazing and we all loved it!! It was some of our first times and I am not really into dark chocolate, but this one wasn't as dark as I thought it would be. It was definitely very filling and a tad bit too sweet for me as I had to drink a lot of water after a few bites. Friendly and knowledgable staff. Clean space. I will come again!

This was a while back, and it was my first time visiting Purebread. When I walked in I was literally in shock because I had never seen that many breads/cakes/pastries in my life. Like holy cow I actually thought I died and went to heaven for half a second there. Anyway, I ended up walking away with way too many pastries and a wallet that was very sad and empty, but yolo, I guess. I don't even know how they come up with so many unique items, so props to them. There are many flourless/vegan/GF/nut free options as well. Flourless chocolate cake (4.5/5) So rich and delicious! It's super decadent and even more amazing when heated up. Make sure you grab some friends to share because this thing is too much for one person to handle! Ooey gooey chocolate chip bars (4.5/5) Sounded amazing, tasted amazing. I've never seen anything like it before. It's basically the love child of a chocolate chip cookie and a brownie. Outrageous brownie (4.5/5) Very similar to the flourless chocolate cake in that it's super rich. Tasted amazing though. Flourless chocolate chip cookie (3.5/5) Pretty decent, but obviously not my favourite of the bunch. It wasn't really that memorable, compared with other cookies like the ones from Small Victory. Morning glories (3.5/5) This was some sort of apple and cinnamon puff thing coated in cinnamon sugar. I'm not a fan of cinnamon and apple, so I didn't try this, but my mom said it tasted pretty good and was quite unique. Coffee cake (3.5/5) This was quite unique as well, as it was shaped like a lava cake. I thought that the coffee flavour could be richer, but this tasted pretty good heated up, as it became kind of like a coffee lava cake. Overall, I love this place and I will be back again! They have so many options that constantly change, and I can't wait to see what they come up with next. My only slight complaint is that items are on the sweet side, so make sure you come with a friend!

So nice that Purebread has opened up a location right near my home! They have most of the same amazing baked goods as their Gastown shop, with a couple different items as well. Staff were offering up a bunch of different samples while I was there, and were really friendly and helpful. I ended up getting a piece of their Caramel Apple Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting. Cake isn't usually my first choice, but Im glad I tried this one. It was SO good! I actually went back the next day to get another piece, but they didn't have any. I'll have to try again another time.

I rarely go to bakery's nowadays, but if I do, this will definitely be my go to! When you walk in, all the treats are so nicely laid out. It's almost impossible to choose! I loved that they have so much variety. Bars, cookies, pastries, brownies, cakes, breads and more! My sister and I decided to get a couple of things to share. The banana brownie was a winner though, and such a generous portion. I never had a whoopie cookie before, but after trying one I will definitely be back for more. My sister really enjoyed the lemon bar. Not too sweet and not too sour. Definitely a bakery you want to check out if you want a ton of variety! Will definitely be back.

Ive had it before and at least its pretty consistent. Ive tried several other things on their menu in the past too, all pretty solid 4/5. Nothing standout as so amazing to deserve 5 stars, but consistent and tasty. I did have a reservation which they charge $10/person for, purely for donation to a charity and does not contribute to your meal at all, and also nonrefundable. While I find this somewhat annoying, I dont blame them for doing this from a business standpoint. They always have a lineup so there is no shortage of customers for them. There is no reason they need to deal with the headache of a ton of reservations. On the flip side, they honoured my reservation in a very timely fashion and I bypassed the line, so props to them for doing that part right. I was meeting a friend here yesterday who's visiting from California, and when deciding on a meeting place, we realized a bunch of the Gastown coffee roaster places were closed on Sunday, so I mentioned Breka , knowing it was opened 24/7. (LOVE this!). Plus, this site is close to Waterfront Station, and my friend had a busy day planned, taking the Seabus to N.Van and doing a lot of sightseeing. So this Breka was perfect. I was there early at 10 am-ish, and from the outset, I was impressed: exposed brick wall, long counter and display case, fully stocked with the most beautiful pastries and tarts and cakes, and lovely looking sandwiches, too....Just lovely. I ordered a tea from the guy taking the orders. At the check-out, the woman working the cashier was the most unfriendly, aloof person I have ever encountered at a Breka. She was downright dour. Never looked up, never smiled, said I owed X for the tea I ordered, gave me a receipt and said I was "number 3", no "thank you" (despite my saying thanks!), nothing. She looked really unhappy and bothered to be there. (I sat at a nearby table, waiting for my number to be called. I saw her interactions with all the people behind me - and there were quite a few, as it got suddenly busy in the cafe. She was cold and unfriendly to everyone in line as she rang them all up. These are mostly tourists! Why have a dour, borderline-hostile woman at the check-out counter of a busy cafe in a touristy part of our city? I just don't get it). Anyhow, I waited 10 minutes to hear my number called, but I never heard it. I walked up to the take-out area and there was my tea, on a receipt that said "number 3". Did they call out my number? I honestly don't know. I was seated at a table a few feet from the area and listening for my number and I didn't hear it called. I was not impressed with this set-up. Not at all. My friend arrived and got a chocolate concoction which looked amazing, and he loved it, so there's that. I still love Brekas but I probably won't return to this site. Between the cold experience at the cash and the prolonged waiting for my order (a cup of tea!), and not being sure if my order number was ever called, it just all left me with a bitter taste in my mouth.

They have a pretty good menu with lots a Benedict's and a build your own breakfast option that seemed pretty nice. I took the recommendation from our server and got the bacon benny. It did not disappoint. I think I have recently discovered that I love poached eggs and these were perfect. The yolk was nice and runny and the white was firm but not hard. I like to cut in to my egg and have it run down and get messy on the plate. The hollandaise was excellent. So many breakfast places will serve it broken, but not here. It had the perfect amount of lemon, butter ratio for my taste and I really enjoyed it. The bacon was good, not to salty, and the english muffin was, well, an English muffin from a package that they toasted and out on the plate. I did splurge and paid the extra dollar for the truffle potatoes and they were very good. I love truffle oil on potatoes so I am a sucker for it whenever its on a menu. You just cant mess it up. Fried potatoes, truffle oil, and a lemon squeeze to bring it all together. My wife got the brunch burger and she loved it. It was a messy breakfast burger that a lot of places have but this one was done right. A poached oozy egg, on a burger patty with american cheese, the best burger cheese in my opinion, bacon, hollandaise and arugula on a brioche bun! It came with tater tots and they were nice and crispy just like she likes them. Well, why didn't I give it five stars you may be asking? Great question. Here it is, each plate came with a side that was just awful. Mine had some "fresh" fruit that nearly made me laugh. It consisted of the saddest, limpest piece of watermelon I have ever seen this side of a trash can. I also had an old crusty orange wedge and a single grape. My wife got a slimy side salad that I think was holding on for dear life. Both, we deemed inedible and moved on immediately. I think there is a rule, or at least there should be one, in restaurants that if you wouldn't eat it then don't serve it. There might be another one that says if you eat rotten food maybe get a different job and see rule one. Overall, we liked the place and would go back. We would just avoid the salads and fresh fruit and stick to the food they cook.

But first, the food - I ordered scrambled eggs, chicken apple sausage and paid an extra $1 for truffled lemon potatoes. The verdict? 4 out of 5. I'd ordered the eggs "very soft" and they verged on medium-firm. They still tasted good. I'll gladly pay extra for the truffled potatoes next time. My husband ordered the salmon avocado benny. While he loved the tomato soup he chose on the side, he was less enamoured by the benny itself. I had a taste and was underwhelmed by a forkful of overripe avocado and slightly fishy-tasting salmon. We finished with an order of beignets which despite being freshly-fried, were bland; although the accompanying strawberry sauce was deliciously tangy-sweet. Onto the service. This place spins like a top, and I mean that in a good way. Although we came at a peak time, all front of the house staff we encountered -- from the hostess to our bubbly server, to the smooth manager -- struck a perfect balance of being in flow, working flawlessly together, and maintaining light conversation with us. Exemplary. 5 stars out of 5.
