Stopped in to check their costa Mesa location out and was pleasantly surprised! It's a small store, but tons of stuff. I wasn't even planning to buy something but Hayden (spelling?) talked me into a new little oil rig. I've seen the simba pipes before but I hadn't seen this yet. It's a little honey themed oil rig that was on sale. I couldn't pass it up. He gave me a bunch of raffle tickets for their upcoming raffle on the 9/26 but I don't even live around here. This place has very rude service and lack of good business ethic. I called them at 9:50pm communicating that i wanted to buy a large amount of shisha and that i was on my way, I am a local customer so I would have planned to visit them more than just tonight. I know that they close at 10pm however i communicated that i may get there at latest 10:02pm. Staff was very rude over the phone and I was hoping they would accomade thier customers by being a bit flexible. I raced over there and arrived in front of the shop at 9:59pm. They closed the store before the stated time and would not pick up the phone. It looks like this shop does not want my business and this is a note to others to support other shops that actually want to help people out and work with customers under reasonable circumstances. Look into other smoke shops to do your purchases. Purple Haze does not deserve my business or yours! read more

I bought a vaporizer from here a few weeks ago, but it was the display item (their last one) and it ended up not working. Service here isn't something I'd want to deal with again. They have a pretty nice selection but pretty expensive pieces. If you enjoy being pushed(over and over) into purchasing something then this is the place for you. read more

Just quite smoke and have little to no patients. I Went to get a vaporizer and Evan who helped me was awesome. Super nice and knowledgeable on what I was looking for he was there on Saturday long hair. Best experience I have had yet at a vap shop. He had a box mod and even took the time to explain how it worked and advised since I was trying to quite smoke that the vaporizer I was interested in was better for me then spending more than I need to on a box mod. I have no idea what everyone's problem is. i have been going to this shop for almost five years whenever i need glass or anything smoking related. i like the way the shop is run its more professional, the people that work there are doing their job, and they do have lower prices on the high end supplies that they sell. One World is basically all import Chinese glass= crap all of the stuff ar purple haze is made local and is one average very good. i have a pipe i got from there 4 years ago. it has dropped twice on hard surfaces as well as had pretty rough use. I Purchased a product from here for about 167.00 usd . The company who actually manufactures the product sells it now for 109.00 so I told them right after I bought it and they said they'd hook me up with a store credit. So when I go in the person tells me they CANNOT do it for some weirdly explained reason. They also told me they buy the product for 100.00 flat . So overall don't come here they can't keep a promise nor keep up with the changing prices of their product . Smh read more

The worst smoke shop ever. Selection sucks, and is overpriced. I can't believe I went here for so long. It just keeps getting worse and worse every time. I bought a birthday water pipe for my friend's birthday and they did discount it, so I'm going to at least give them one star. Last time I went there, the worker showed us a hide-a-bottle and then accused us of breaking it. Then sat there silently just staring at the bottle as if not knowing what to do now. I offered to pay a few bucks to cover for the damage, but he insisted that it was no longer good. After a few minutes of uncomfortable silence, we just bit the bullet and paid the ridiculous price that was on it. Come on now. 30 bucks for a bottle. That's just way overpriced. As is everything else in the store. Especially for the quality. Now I go to One World right up the street. At least they don't try to rip us off and place blame on us. Prediction: One world just gonna win in the end if they ever have a turf war. You can't win when the other store has good customer service, great products, great prices and not trying to rip the customers off. Trust me, go to ONE WORLD, it's only down the street. read more

Hello, I have been to alot of purple haze, espcially the one in Huntington Beach, and they were nothing but amazing to me. Cassidy the girl who helped me out was rad she did everything she could do to help me out. I went in there not knowing my torch needed a specific brand of butane and I bought 4 of Newport beach because Cassidy said she would hook me up with a good price, saying it would work on all torches. I got home and found out nope it wont work for mine. Didnt even use it didnt even open it nothing, called within literally 10 mins of being home begging to have a refund to be told their is nothing she can do the manger in his 15 years of being their has never issued a refund, but I could have store credit, and that I can buy a torch there. No i bought a torch last night and dropped $80 i dont want to purchase another one. And yes store credit would be rad, but having a shitty experience there doesnt make me want to go back, I feel forced to go to a place that wouldnt even help me out. Instead I went and drove a little out of my way to the smoke shop I went to yesterday and they gave me a new butane and gave me a little present for the trouble and even they even said as I was leaving "We take care of you here, we want you to have the best experience." Up and Smoke Shop in Newport beach has my business they treated me 10X better than the Costa Mesa, Purple Haze. Absolutely ridiculous, 10 mins of being home, and cant even help me out. What a crooked business. Is the costa mesa location doing so bad they need to scam their clients. Shit giving the other locations a bad rap. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I wish I could give this place negative stars. For years I have seen this place switch ownership due to poor salesmanship and sketchy dealings. Hell, they used to do whip-its in front of customers on the reg. I stopped by today to grab cigs and it was the same old poor service. I asked the young a*****e if he they sold cigarettes and he said, "you want an e cig?" I repeated myself clearly and he thought himself cute and said it again. And again, and again. Then another customer said they don't have them man, but there's a gas station across the street. Just solidified my disdain for this horrible eye sore in an already shanty town strip mall. I recently located to Newport Beach and I needed to pick up a new oil rig to tide me over until I'm ready to make the jump to an electronic nail system. I was originally planning on going to One World (from a friend's recommendation) but I stopped in here first since it was on the side of the road I was already on. I found the employee working at the time to be very helpful in advising me on different technologies while respecting my price range. He also provided me with recommendations on the delivery services available for card holders in the area. Next time I need to pick up something local, I'll come here first. A little bit of excessive up-selling, but this is expected at head shops from my experience. read more

THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I bought an item from them just a few day ago, and then as soon as i used it the first time, it broke! the glass piece that covers the vape cracked because it was really hard to put on and take off. so went to tell them that i would like them to replace the glass item but OMG the teenage guy in charge of this stuff comes out and tells me that my story about the vape glass is made up and doesnt make sense- he rudely implied that i am lying! I buy these items all the time, and this one was FOR SURE a DEFECTED PRODUCT. the glass snapped just when i pulled it off just after the FIRST TIME I USED IT !!! why would they be SOO RUDE? the guy behind the counter decided that he wants to REALLY piss me off ! i have never had such a horrendous after sales experience at ANY vape store.
