Teachers are very patient and so far the classes are never too full. Very clean and great location. I always feel good coming out of here.

Just attended my first yoga class here. Was a full class, but great workout - really intense. Class was for "all levels" bit I felt it was at least intermediate because it was fast-paced and the instructor wasn't showing modified poses for many of the challenging poses. Bought the 2 week deal a while ago. We used it as much as we could to try out the different levels. We really are more like beginners but I took Yoga in college. I was looking for something like that were they fix you if you're not doing it right, given that I haven't done yoga in forever, i knew i would need lots of fixing, but out of the times that I went to purple yoga rarely did we get corrected so that was a bummer. Even in the beginner classes-- it's been a while- they go by colors to distinguish, so whatever the beginner color was almost no correcting. One of the classes we went to the instructor was talking really loud! like yelling even though there was not that many people in the class- there was about 7 with us. So that was also kinda of a turn off as well- . Also, some of the classes are pretty cramped mostly the hot yoga ones so that was a big turn off because you can't really do it. Otherwise, the facility was really clean, nice facily and people were pretty nice. We might try it again, it is pricey- for me so i'm not sure given that i would have wanted more actual instruction and getting corrected- which is why we tried more the begning levels more, but it was kind of the same thing. totally worth a try though. read more

Love the red class! All the teachers are awesome! For someone with a busy schedule, this is the yoga studio for you as they offer frequent classes. All the teachers are a bit different. My favorite class is probably Sidney's class. In a convenient location right off of PCH. Only complaint is that in the downstairs class you can sometimes hear people walking up and down staircase. Clean beautiful location with high quality yogis!! Bought a Groupon for 3 weeks unlimited, and it was more than worth it! Got to try a wide variety of instructors and classes and got a great workout every time. Awesome class schedule, with something for everyone. Well kept locker rooms and the entire place smells fresh. Purple Yoga in Long Beach was worth the uber rides there and back. Alex was super attentive and made me feel comfortable in a class far away from my usual in New Jersey. This is my second time leaving the hotel on an overnight to go to Purple Yoga and both times were awesome! Totally recommend this studio out of all the studios you can choose from out here in Cali. Two thumbs up. Clean, quite environment. The one rafter made a little noise during shavasana which made me laugh but didn't seem to bother anyone else. Mat, yoga mat towel, and towel rental for $5. I started as those try out 2 weeks unlimited classes for $29 , have no experience or anything about Yoga but since the first few classes I am so addicted !! Besides the clean studio , shower/locker room ...the best part I enjoyed most are the teachers. They all seemed to be very passionate about Yoga and very compassionate and patient with even beginner like me ;) My favorite teachers I regularly attending are: Bonnie, Ranae and Siri......Melody also pretty vibrant. read more

i've taken blue 2.0, blue and red. i personally enjoy the red series and the blue series (not 2.0). the reason for that is the temperature. i believe it's around 100 degrees (while blue 2.0 is around 80). If you want to take a great class, sign up for a class led by Ranae. She is awesome! just one complaint: the price for one class is a bit higher than i'm used to. On the upside, everyday a community class of $9 is offered. read more

Purple yoga is one of my favorite. The Fullerton studio was my first experience with hot yoga. They only had 1 type of class in the beginning, which was fine with me. I went for 3 months straight just about every day and felt AMAZING. The instructors are really cool because they will walk around and correct your form. They are very knowledgable about their practice and will give you tips and bits of information to help you understand why you absoluuuuutely need to touch your forehead to your knee even if you can't keep your legs straight. Still a favorite even though I no longer practice at either studio. read more

Still love the studio. HATE the new website. Guys, it doesn't load quickly, I don't like having to wait 5 minutes to have any of the pages load. It isn't my computer, my iPad of my work computer. It isn't my connection either, as my business has the fastest available for business purposes. Please figure out what the deal is, the now less user friendly site is definitely annoying. I don't know who designed it, but it isn't for me, and it isn't for any of the people I have referred to your studio as they have complained to me as well. read more

I have been going to purple yoga for 6 weeks! I love it and addicted. I have been to yoga a few times, but have to say the people here mad my experience great. I normally do the Hot Yoga or Red Yoga and feel amazing after wards. I highly recommend it, because the instructors are friendly and helpful and the place it super clean. Awesome place :) clean and the staff is sweet. They have different levels and they crank up the heat which is great! They also have a class that is somewhat like bikram but not as intense but it's great. I wish they also had pilates... but for now their unlimited for $109 per month is a great deal if you're a consistent yogi ;) read more

Great Studio! Parking is easy (and in LB that's a plus). Awesome teachers. I am not sure if I love hot yoga, but I really enjoyed the other classes offered. The studio is beautiful. My favorite yoga studio by far! I love the classes, the instructors and the feeling I get when I am there. I like that the rooms do not have too many mirrors so I can concentrate on my practice and not looking in the mirror the whole time. I feel so much better after taking a class here. The best time to come is when Melody is teaching. She's an incredible teacher. I took her class at the fullerton location and HAD to come here and take her class again. She puts off this amazing energy in the room and is very helpful getting into the correct poses. I am not a yoga person at all, but I LOVE this studio! And not only because of the sweat, but of the intense workout with each class. Purple Yoga is AMAZING!!! I went here just about every day over the summer and have since moved to Santa Barbara, where I have tried four other yoga studios and not one of them has even come close to offering me what Purple Yoga did. I miss the studio so much! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone who wants a good yoga experience- even if you've never done yoga before! The practice was awesome. Right away the studio makes you feel accepted no matter how much of a yogi you are. The male instructor was great! He was calming and led us through a fantastic work out. I give him a 5 star review. One thing is that I wish they wouldn't pack the classes in so much. I got there early to get my space, and then when class started, I ended up having others like 3 inches away from me. I know yoga is about acceptance, but I don't want to accept my neighbor's sweat. :( Although this is a common problem at all studios like CPY and Ra (my other two main spots.) Other than that, great experience and I can't wait to try another class here soon! read more

I love this studio! They offer classes all day (no midday breaks in schedule) and really do their best to make this studio as inclusive as possible. One reason I don't attend westernized studios or teach at any is because they are way over priced and often offer a watered down, white privileged, commodified version of yoga. Most western studios lack accessibility, diversity, and respect for the culture in which yoga originated from, but not Purple Yoga. They not only offer a ton of times that you can get your namaste on, they also have a variety of class types that take place in different room temperatures and include various forms of yogic techniques, postures, and yes ... even breathe work!!!! Yay.!!! To make things more economically accessible they have a work study program, groovy specials, $10-$12 drop in classes and discounts to students and educators. There is always a diverse staff and clientele which cultivate a safe and welcoming environment . They even let my girlfriend put her membership on hold when she had an outside injury occur and could not practice. Customer service is excellent. I will defiantly be calling this place home and may even apply to their work study program. Kudos to Purple Yoga for keeping it real! read more

Love this studio! Very clean, very calm and serene. Two practice rooms, large upstairs, small down. Great locker room with showers. Very friendly staff. I have taken blue, blue 2.0 and red, with blue 2.0 being my favorite of the classes offered. All of the instructors are great, but Renae has a way of leading you through your practice that I think is outstanding. read more

I love the hot yoga classes here and how clean the facility is. I do wish it were more affordable as it's a bit pricey for college students. I tried their intro package for $20 for two weeks and some of the $9 special classes. All of the teachers are very nice and friendly. And the benefits you feel after a class are incomparable to any other exercise. read more

I miss this place like crazy!!! Although I had been doing "gym yoga" for years, Purple was my first experience with an actual yoga studio. This place is amazing! I moved back to the east coast in May and have been in search of a new studio ever since (I'm on my sixth studio now). So far they have all paled in comparison to Purple. The instructors at Purple are amazing and the studio itself is beautiful. After each class, I felt absolutely amazing! I'm still in search of that here in NY. Having been to several different yoga studios now, I can safely say that Purple is a genuine yoga studio, not one that is simply trying to cash in on the yoga craze. I highly recommend Purple Yoga! I tried Purple Yoga in Long Beach a few weeks ago at the urging of a friend, and fell in love with the place! The classes are challenging, but not impossible, and the instructors are great. I'm stiff as a board, and the classes have already paid dividends. I'm an avid golfer, and the classes have help take 4 strokes off my game easily due to increased flexibility and greatly improved concentration. The Red & Black hot yoga classes are my favorite...if you go, you'll get hooked. read more

Went with a friend and was duly impressed. Clean, organized, and friendly. They run it with an umbrella of respect that trickles down into the participants in the class. The flow was great; loved the heat; and it was a friendly ass-kicking. I'm only giving four stars because you can't judge a yoga center on one class, one teacher. If I lived in Long Beach, this is where I'd go though. Just an FYI, I'd recommend entering the Market Place (mall) off Westminster, pass Trader Joe's and park in front of the Pilates place. This is by far my most favorite yoga studio that I've attended not just in long beach but also, Austin, Houston, San Antonio.(I'm from Texas). All of the teachers are good, but by far my favorite is Cidney. He is very attentive and inspirational. read more
