Located in Seaport, this place is a great place to hang out and play mini golf with friends. The parking is absurd since it is Seaport, so ideally it would be best to just Uber or take the train. Puttshack is pretty pricey in my opinion and the games are only about an hour. You have to wait until the parties in front of you are finished in order to proceed, which can take some time. The drinks were yummy but also expensive. Don't know if I would regularly come here, but it is a fun activity if you needed a last resort or if it's cold out in Boston. read more

When I first thought of an indoor mini golf, I expected more than 9 holes per game. There are separate sections throughout the place and you're assigned to a section. I spent more time waiting to play than actually playing. The sections are small and games went by fast. i appreciated each whole was a different style of game, which is creative. I recommend signing up for the newsletter for 1 free game because I don't believe paying $18 was worth it. Before playing, I went to the second floor for dinner & drinks. It was very busy, which took a while to get drink orders in. I don't want to say the bartenders were rude, but they did seem stressed out with all the orders & little staff. I ordered an old fashion & my boyfriend grabbed a couple of beers. We sat at the bar & a glass was dropped right in front of me. I really appreciated the manager being attentive & quickly came up to ask what I needed. I did ask for a new drink to be made because I was unsure if glass fell in it. They were kind to give my bf a free beer. We ordered the bao buns as appetizers & split the hot Atlanta chicken sandwich. The food was okay. I did enjoy the chicken sandwich, but will order an other appetizer if I were to return. Overall the experience was okay. I don't recommend large groups coming because of the long wait. read more

This is a long one, but the gist is that this place has the worst customer service, management, and food that I've ever experienced. Not one positive thing I can say about this place. When we first got there the hostess laughed and asked "you're trying to eat NOW?" at 7:30 on a tuesday night. We had a reservation and I have attached a screenshot of it. Apparently there were a bunch of private events, but it was a tuesday night and we had a mini golf reservation at 8:30, and there were more than enough tables available downstairs. We were told to go upstairs to see if there was any availability there. No tables were available there either and we were told to go downstairs and sit at the bar. We begrudgingly sat at the bar for our disgusting appetizers (poutine and empanadas, both hit my stomach like a rock and simply were not good) and finished our overpriced drinks and wanted to start our game early. All of the parties downstairs had cleared out at this point, so I assumed we'd be good to go. We tried to sign in on the terminals downstairs but they were all down. At this point one of us still hadn't registered but we saw our name on the board with the color green next to it. Instead of telling us what to do the hostess said "8:30 and green? that doesn't make any sense" and didn't attempt to help us further. Once we figured out (ourselves) how to register, we asked the host again what to do, and she told us to find the hole corresponding to our color (green) which was on floor 2, went upstairs again to find that after completing registration they changed us to amber instead which was downstairs. Went downstairs and they had closed the entire downstairs area for another private party. Spoke to the host who sent us upstairs again. Finally Ellie helped us by getting us set up at the sapphire hole (throughout this entire experience she was the only one who was kind and helpful) and when we went to play there were no balls in the dispenser. We decided we'd had enough and went to the front to ask for a refund. The host said we had to do it online, but after our experience I wanted to speak to a manager. After recounting our experience to Alex De Luz, he said that they were "really busy" because of the parties and that's probably why the downstairs terminals weren't working (literally the least of our concerns). He did not address a single other issue and then said "I don't know what you want me to do". I said I wanted a refund again but honestly I was hoping for a little sympathy and customer service to smooth over the situation. A genuine apology at the very least. Instead he said there was nothing they could do and I had to go online. During his condescending spiel I decided to just walk away because he clearly did not care about me or my experience. As i walked away he shouted across the establishment "have a great night and happy anniversary" in the most awful horrible tone I've ever heard. I came back in after cooling down to get everyone's names, and as I left the entire hostess staff and the female manager began laughing at me. We are on a trip to Boston from Florida for our anniversary and this was our first day in town. Not only is our anniversary itself ruined, but this experience will color the rest of our trip and will be what we think about when we think of Boston. Never in my life have I been treated so horribly. At this point, a full refund (including the price of our horrible food) would barely even make up for the time lost during our finite time in Boston, and I will do everything in my power to let customers know what type of business the owners of Putshack are running. I'm not usually one to make a big stink if I had a negative experience, but this entire visit was beyond horrible, and after looking at other reviews it's clear this location needs work on their management and customer service. read more

This place came highly recommended as a date spot and I would say it was fun to check out if you're in the Seaport area during the colder months as it's a good indoor spot with food/ drinks availble. We just weren't aware that you have to book a reservation so when we walked in we were told to check online and thankfully there were times available during the time we were there. The course is very simple to follow and every hit you do with your golf ball is tracked which you can see right away on the screen. There are about 9 holes that are in very fun interactive settings and we never had any issues being stuck behind the group in front of us. I'm shocked the reviews for this place are so low. We went for Valentine's day and had an absolute blast. Things worked as smoothly as you could hope for a relatively new establishment with 100s of people walking through. Reserving online was pretty simple - albeit not too explanatory but I'm not sure I was bothered by that. It was easy and sometimes that's what this world needs. Upon arrival, we were offered coat check at the bottom of the stairs, walked up to the host stand who walked us through how to start our game, and when that was over we meandered back to the host stand who sat us for our reserved meal. The food was super creative and tasty and there were more than enough drinks to pick from so you really can't complain about variety or quality. After eating we wanted to play again and the host stand helped us figure out how to do that, too. We did have to ask a few questions because the space can be a bit confusing but speaking up is all one needs to do to have an A+ experience! :) read more

I really was pleasantly surprised by this place! I have been to a few other of the 'nightlife mini golf' places in other cities, but I felt that Puttshack surpassed them in terms of creativity of the holes and overall environment. A few things to note: 1) You must book in advance ahead of time, 2) Expect to have a bit of a wait between holes on busy nights - I suggest either coming at a quieter time OR just come with a group of people who you enjoy chatting to and secure a tasty drink before you hit the course, 3) Agreed with the reviews that point out that $18 is a lot for 9 holes. I don't love it, but the crowds seem to indicate that they can draw folks in at that price point (at least for now) so I'm guessing that price range is here to stay (it also seems comparable for what I've seen in other cities). Having said that, I would LOVE to see a "two for one" course deal during off-hours or once their opening surge settles down, as $18 for 18 holes is much more in line with the type of pricing that would get me to come back on a more regular basis. What I really liked: -Awesome holes. We played the Sapphire course, and highlights included a bowling alley hole, a Pac-Man arcade hole, a hole where you putt differently based on what you think the answer is to a given trivia question (that one was our favorite), and lots of other really creative ones. -I liked the added touches of bonuses / penalties on the course that made it a bit different from classic mini golf scoring. I'm usually a traditionalist when it comes to mini golf courses, but I actually enjoyed how they did scoring, and loved seeing our group's leaderboard on the big screens as we progressed. -The automatic scoring via the balls was really cool. Having said that - it did glitch a couple times (or maybe it was user error). I would love to see a manual correction option added for the times when the technology has its kinks (at least for groups that are paying attention to scoring - when we went with a big group, it wasn't a big deal, but for a 1 vs. 1 matchup, I'd definitely like to be able to fix score errors). -They had a great selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (including some fun mocktails), which I very much appreciated. Yes, you'll pay Boston prices for most things on the menu here, but that's to be expected in this area. -Staff was friendly and I liked that it was festive without being insanely loud inside! Overall a really fun place that I hope to return to, especially if they have some specials or two-for-one type deals during quieter times. read more

I checked out Puttshack last Saturday night! Compared to other businesses in Seaport, this place is not located where you'd want it to be, but the place was still very easy to find thanks to their large sign out front of their building. I hate mini golf, but I had an absolute blast here! It was VERY packed, so be prepared to wait some time for almost everything. But the vibes are too amazing to even care about the wait. My friend and I had an awesome time here. The mini golf is truly like no other. Very technologically advanced and their course is themed to modern games like a Connect 4 course, beer pong course, and a darts course which I found very cool. Even though we had to wait some time to get started on the overall course, once we had, the rest of the course was smooth sailing from there! You can tell the wait was not because of how many people they had on the course but because so many people were checking this place out for the first time, so it took folks a minute to figure out how to start the first hole lol. My friend wasn't drinking tonight, so I did all the drinking for the both of us hahaha. I started off with the Smoking Painkiller and then finished the night with the Porn Star Martini. The Painkiller came in a treasure chest with smoke dispersing out once opened. It was VERY strong. It wasn't a disgustingly strong drink but wasn't sweet either. But it did make a great starter drink. Then when I switched to the Martini, that was very sweet and tasted really nice! They also add smoke to the martini when they bring it to you (nice touch and adds to the experience!). Honestly after those two drinks, it was TIME for food hahaha. For food we FEASTED! We tried the fried lobster and mac n cheese rolls, the regular fries, and the bbq chicken flatbread for dinner and them the beignets and creme brûlée for dessert. Good fries are hard to find, but man, these were BOMB. A perfect late night snack! Same with the beignets!!! I've never had such delicious beignets in the New England area. The bbq chicken flatbread was also great! Although I thought the creme brûlée tasted a bit like coffee and therefore not sweet enough, my friend who was trying the dish for the first time in his life LOVED it. I've also attended the Puttshack in ATL. So I can honestly say, if you want to really have fun, I'd recommended only going to this place for dates or up to 4 people if you go on their busier nights (during the weekend) and reserve group activities when they're less busy (probably during the week or during the day). I have not even been to Puttshack and your unprofessionalism is what gets you 1 star from me! On Sunday 12/4/22 I tried to get some assistance from a manager named Evan Meyers (who is in charge of hospitality) over the phone. After explaining to him that I was trying redeem a promotional offer that was emailed to me, he got frustrated and claimed that he would transfer me to "guest relations" since he didn't know how to help. Instead, he purposely hung up on me and blocked my phone number. After calling back for help he hung up on me again, I called a couple more times before realizing my number was blocked. So I proceeded to call again, but this time from another phone number, spoke to Evan once again, asked if he was going to help me or hang up on me again, and guess what he did... yup he hung up on me and he blocked this phone number as well! The person in charge of hospitality showed very little "hospitality". Hey Evan, if you weren't sure of how to help me why would you hang up on me purposely twice and block my number? So what did I do next... I called a different Puttshack location (Atlanta) spoke with a manager James there, i explained him what happened with Evan in Boston. James called the Seaport location to ask him to call me since he blocked my number, and I never heard back from Evan. I literally spent from 12:38PM- 1:36PM (58 minutes) trying to reach Puttshack. (Screenshots are attached, first two pictures are to show the first and last time I called 12:38PM and 1:36PM. I also circled the length of the the 8 minute call and also the 10 minute call which is when he purposely hung up on me on both occasions. The third picture is when I called the Atlanta location and spoke with manager James who actually called and spoke with Evan requesting he give me a call back, and of course I did not get a call back from Evan. Whoever is replying to the Google reviews on here as "owner"... whether it's Kerry Henderson (for the Seaport location or Aaron Ostrowski (corporate), I am going to need one of you to unblock my phone number and have somebody call me. Whether it be this location or from corporate because I had to drive 45 minutes to get there today to book a reservation for a game for this weekend. My phone number is 617-201-2250. I look forward to hearing from Aaron or corporate soon before getting in contact with Joe Vrankin. 2 stars because the food although extremely overpriced is tasty so are the drinks. I would come here to eat and pass on the mini golf. $18 fir 9 holes?? Really -- that just puts this into the category of an overpriced tourist trap. I like the idea but I hate how they did it. I would do the dining on one floor and leave the top floor for 18 hiole mini golf. It's "3" courses you have to pay separately for -- all smooshed together and very similar -- once the novelty wears off (Boston very boring as a city --hardly anything new). They should think about offering happy hour specials drinks half off appetizers -- buy one get one golf. It's just too expensive and not enough entertainment -- the holes are too easy & it only takes 20-25 minutes to finish even with a group. Also $18 for a tiny portion appetizer. I like shareable plates but they should be more in the $9-10 range even the most expensive tapas restaurants don't charge that. read more

So this place just opened, and that's evident in the service. In the interactions with many different employees, it's apparent that nobody knows how this place is to be run. It does. It does not appear that staff is up to speed as several times people did not know what they were doing. Nonetheless, the food and drinks were absolutely AMAZING and the putting was so creative and fun. But confusing because it's Asian and bbq flavors My advice to the customer: make sure you have a reservation for food and putt. Manage your expectation of poor restaurant/bar service. There are several different putt areas so you'll have to reserve them each separately. My advice to the company: train your staff, teach them to be friendly too. There was one Hispanic manager that was on his phone texting doing nothing with an attitude on his face while the white manager was running around fixing things that didn't need to be fixed (arranging plates, reorganizing child seats), instead of engaging customers or supporting servers. The porn star martini is amazing, but the smoked Prosecco doesn't need to come in such a large carafe. It makes the sidecar appear less appealing. Also the Korean bao buns: the barbecue doesn't taste "Asian". It tastes like sweet baby rays in a bao. read more

Gave this rating simply because the communication between the waitress and I about how to process payments separately, literally confirmed this set up or process 3 times one on the phone one with the host downstairs and with the waitress that was attending to us and still gave us one receipt then insisted on one receipt when in fact that is not what I was told . Felt bad because although it was my birthday everyone had to scrimmage to make sure they had enough . Another red flag was that she attended to my guests first. But keep in mind on someone's birthday they want to feel special and she didn't do a good job whatsoever . As far as the ambience it's cool for pics but the food wasn't great to be honest with you. Saw this online and have been waiting to come here and try it out! Currently 8.5 months pregnant and due in 2 weeks this was our last outing for awhile. Went today with friends for a double date. My husband and I arrived early. Went upstairs to get a drink. Nobody was at the bar yet took 15 minutes for a bartender to take our order. And heard bar was out of Titos which is a pretty basic vodka to stock. But we opted to not get food due to only having 30 mins before our reservation. Got our drinks cashed out. Went and checked in I love that they have coat check. Did the self kiosk to check in for our game. Everything was explained how the game worked. Like that our friends and my husband could order drinks while we played. Had 9 holes went by pretty fast!! Was fun experience. As with alot of new spots there are growing pains. read more

First time at Puttshack and it was quite busy for Valetine's Day even though it was a Tuesday night. Originally booked in advance online 1 game which is $18 per person. Except to wait a good bit as the course itself is pretty crammed for being inside but it is a cool concept where each golf ball has a chip to track score and player. Discovered there are at least 3 other courses so 4 total (that I saw so far). It's pretty fun for sure but occasionally which happens more that i'd like is the electronic malfunction. Sometimes hole one slipped though and the system doesn't register so then your score is forever wrong. Overall, it is definitely nice the first time but maybe a one time thing. Ended up playing 2 more courses so the night costed over $108 not including food and drinks for 2 people. The other thing that plays a significant portion of not coming back is the repetitive courses at each one. Would've been better if they were not similar but some holes are the same and some are the same just flipped. This place does not deserve anything lower than 3 stars. The place is very nicely decorated and had zero issues with any personnel. read more

The idea is there but I would not return. Three identical courses in this place and two of us were done in less than 10 minutes for $32. Only 9 holes and all were done in a couple shots and the courses were all in about 5ft x 6ft spaces. Had to wait a long time for a spot too and people whose times were 1 hour before we had arrived were still being held for them. More disappointing than fun. They should at least let you play through a couple times for an hour or so. read more

Always fun place to go and have fun with a laid back atmosphere. The main con is that it's pretty expensive for 9 holes of mini golf which could take 15 minutes if nobody is in front of you, or 45 minutes with a lot of waiting around. We did not have any of the food. The beer and wine were reasonably priced. The cocktails a little on the expensive side but were actually pretty good. I had the mezcal spicy margarita and I don't normally like these, but it was really nice. Also, comparing this location to Miami, this one is much more tame. Come here for an activity with family and friends. It's a unique experience and different way to play mini golf. There are four courses, each course is 9 holes. I came here twice. Each time at different courses. We did not get to choose the course, it was assigned to us. Make a reservation online, and then you find out your course when you arrive. Fortunately I wasn't assigned to the same course both visits. Wish the courses had more than 9 holes, the game can feel short if your group is small. Ambience and music were young, pop, and top 40. The second time I came here the music was way too loud. You could not have any sort of conversation and you had to repeat yourself twice to the staff. Do not stay for the food. It is overpriced for basic bar quality food. Instead, Shake Shack would be a better choice, even though I don't even like Shake Shack for being overpriced itself. However, you will feel ripped off even more eating here. Also, the drinks were more juicy than alcoholic, not worth it. Mixed experience with the staff. The staff who are stationed at the start of the courses are nice and friendly; they explain the rules and give you your ball/club. Service staff at the dining area are not friendly or personable. They do not want to be bothered. The host made it feel like it was a nuisance to check if a table was available for our group even though that's their job. There's 5 (i think) courses total but only 3 different ones so I would ask to switch to a different one if you book multiple games and they make you do the same game twice. Service is pretty slow. This place is so fun and unique! There are a few different courses with 9 holes each. Almost everything is automated, so you pay for your group at a machine and then go get your ball from a dispensing machine. The holes follow your ball and track your points, so you can just enjoy the unique holes and challenges. read more
