So much fun!! This review is only for drinks and the atmosphere, not food. There is a bunch of garages for parking. They said they validate for 909 Fannin Street garage under the 2 houston building. I have not tried to park there but I asked the front desk this last time. The mini golf is so much fun. I've gone twice. Once during the day and once at night. During the day it's chill and they let you bring kids. During the night it's more like a party with loud music. There are 8 holes and the 9th you shoot your last shot and they take your ball. Technology is superb, they keep track of the score for you via your golf ball. One star lost bc there's a bartender who was terrible. She took our order and took forever with two drinks bc she took way to many orders and was behind. The bartender next to her took about 6-8 people and we were still standing there waiting for her. It's also hard to order drinks while you play. We didn't know how. The other thing I would comment is that the game is best for players of 4-6. Other than that it just takes way too long and gets too messy and you might get stuck behind a big group. The company itself needs to give clients more direction. I would highly recommend making a reservation online (don't be late, but they do have a small grace period). 2. Go upstairs and check in on the stands. 3. Once it's your time, look at the screen and go to that color. Then you will once again use a touch screen to get your balls. Employees where there but they don't try to help you out. Came in last Friday night for date night. We booked our time slots online so it was very easy and quick to get checked in. We headed to our putting area and the employee there walked us through how everything worked. It was really fun, you play for nine holes a game. You can rebook different courses while you're there. I'd say that the only downside is that if you're a half decent player the games go by pretty fast. We played two courses one before we ate and one afterwards. There's a lot of variety, so even if you play all the courses you won't be bored. The mini golf experience was definitely a 10/10. The food and drinks on the other hand were pretty mediocre. We both ordered the cali chicken sandwiches and they were okay but they had practically no flavor and they were a little dry. For drinks I ordered the tamarind margarita and it was definitely the better drink. My date ordered the mezcal margarita and although we both enjoy mezcal this drink was pretty gross. It just tasted like watered down mezcal, you couldn't taste any pineapple or anything else. Parking is one of the only things I didn't like about this place. You're gonna have to park at a garage nearby. We paid $18 for 2 hours, but it could be more or less depending on how long you stay. Came at 7:20p on a Thursday because I wanted to avoid the weekend crowds for this new spot. It wasn't empty or busy, so it was exactly the crowd I was aiming for, yay! A lot more people came in at around 7:45p though so we had to wait on a few holes, but it wasn't that big of a deal. All the staff was friendly and helpful from the check-in desk to the ones helping on the courses to the restaurant servers! With this being a new establishment and concept, there are a lot of confused patrons standing around looking lost (including me lol) and they were all so helpful! If you don't book a game time before you get there, it's not a big deal as it only takes a couple of minutes. I didn't want to book a time in case I came too late, so I booked one there and was on the course within maybe 5 minutes. I've heard about people having technical problems with their golfballs not tracking scores/movements properly, and I did have a small technical problem at the beginning of the course, but a quick reset by the on-site tech support fixed that. After that, we had no problems at all! We got through the course in about 30 minutes. We went at a pretty leisurely pace because we had the course to ourselves for the first half, but when it's busier and people are waiting on you, you might rush and have a shorter play time. Anyways, I loved the course! It was really fun! Too fun. Because it went by too fast :( We grabbed food in their dining area and didn't know what to expect in terms of quality, but we were very pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious! Too delicious!! The in-house restaurant quality was so good that it could've been a highly-rated stand-alone restaurant that I'd be glad to come back to! And special shout out to our server, Joseph! He was super friendly and helpful, and he really enhanced our experience! MARYLAND CRAB DIP: This was so good, it was ridiculous! If you're thinking about getting it, just get it! It came out piping hot though, so be careful! It comes with a house chip medley, which basically just means tortilla and potato chips (I personally loved the potato chips). It was fun to have different chip textures to choose from! THE O.G.: The burgers here are GREAT. You can tell how good the quality is and how fresh it is with each bite! Lovely, cute concept for mini golf. Such a long way from mini pencils and keeping tally on a piece of paper. I really enjoyed my bday here with my family. I didn't drink or eat but definitely will on the next visit. The courses are interactive and entertaining. I don't like that you can't pick your own course as they're all different. Placemnt appears to be random, though. Logistics here are also pretty confusing. Although there were tons of employees standing around, no one really offered to explain how the waiting system works. We also had to sign up on our phones because we were told the system was down. There isn't anywhere to sit while you wait to play or anywhere to set food or drink. Came here for a group outing and had a really good time. First of all, they validate parking. The garage is connected to the PuttShack and is on Austin and McKinney There are various games to play, but we chose miniature golf. It costs $14 for 9 holes. Maybe took about 45 minutes to an hour to get through. Also, they have lots of TVs for watching sports. I didn't have any food, but it is kind of pricey. A couple of people in my group got the flatbread and they were kind of small. All in all, it was a cool hang. I'm a super competitive dude, so places like this is what I seek out when I'm trying to find fun things to do. Recently, these types of mini golf courses have been popping up all over town. Puttshack are located throughout the states, but this is the only location in Houston. It is located smack dab in the middle of downtown so plan accordingly. They do not have a dedicated parking lot, but validate with a few surrounding garages. I wish they would list it online so people can go to those garages. I happened to park nearby at a garage they did not validate at. Turned out to be an expensive day for parking. When you walk in, there is a coat check area and stairs leading up to the playing level. They had employees randomly walking around and checking in was a little confusing. I booked and paid online ahead of time for two people and checked in at a kiosk. At that point we were approached by a waitress who took our drink order and closed out even after repeating we wanted to keep our tab open. It wasn't busy when we first arrived and our waitress was just hanging out while our drinks just sat at the bar. Since there was no employees really seeing if anyone needed help, we just walked to our assigned course. I guess at that point it was visible it was our first time and a nice young man came to explain the ins and outs of Puttshack. This was helpful and the first time I started liking this place. So, they have four courses here, all consisting of nine holes. You can play in any order at the course you are assigned to, but you have to save the 9th hole as your final hole as your ball disappears. The technology here is impressive. I've only played at the old school courses where you keep your own score on a piece of paper. They have Wi-Fi technology that knows when you are at the hole and how many strokes it takes for you to finish. The scoring system seems weird and random. I did lose so maybe I'm a little biased. Each hole is unique and has different obstacles as well as ways to get bonus points. It was fun, but not very challenging overall. We came at the right time because we did not have to wait behind people much. I imagine it being annoying if the place is packed. My date and I had a good time, but we were in and out of the game quick. For the price they charge, it wouldn't hurt to throw in another course atleast. With the service being lackluster and the value of what we got, I wouldn't rush back here. I want to try all the other spots to compare. read more

A fun time with family or friends. You pay for your reservation online or on the kiosk when you walk in. There are time slots for when you start. When it was our time, you go check in at your designated course. The attendant will give you your stick and assigned ball. The ball is WiFi capable and keeps record of your scores and how many times you hit the ball. There are bonus points you can get at each hole. There is a time cut off in the evening for the last reservation you can make if you have someone younger than 21 in your party. I enjoyed the course and the family had fun. I would say that when you start getting past 8pm, the music starts to get more uncensored. It was quite a bit of cursing in one song that made me a little uncomfortable with my 13 yr old being present. The technology doesn't always work, not giving scores properly. They used to come ask if you'd like something to drink while playing. Didn't do that. Some holes had missing items, didn't record properly. It's not as well staffed as when we first started going. There's no where to sit at a table unless you're eating. But we always have fun. I originally came to Puttshack with my family June 21,2025 and had an AMAZING time. We came in the middle of the day and despite it being crowded, we received very friendly service. The bartender (young woman who stated it was her second day) was extremely kind. Three people in my party, including myself, ordered the pornstar martini and she served it exactly as described on the menu for each of us with the pizazz of the prosecco smoke pour. As we golfed, a server approached and gave us the option to order another round. When those drinks arrived, he poured the smoke in as well while on the course. After this great experience, I decided to bring my friends who were visiting from out of town as well as some local. We came Sunday evening around 8:30. We went to the bar after checking in and were completely ignored. The bartender (Brianna) did not even glance in our direction for at least 5 minutes after we sat down. We weren't given menus so I had to go to an empty table and grab them from there. She never greeted us but finally took our order. I again decided on the pornstar martini. It looked like she used some type of premade mix that was darker in color, thicker and much sweeter. She gave me the drink without the smoke show and when I asked, I was told she already added the prosecco. I took and paid for the drink because I knew it wouldn't get any better coming from her. We went to play and had a great time. There were no severs to order additional drinks from, but I suppose that was for the best. We finished the Ruby course and were ready for a new game at around 9:30. When we went to the check in counter, we were told we could not start a new game. Disappointing, but we understood due to them closing at 10pm. We stood around deciding where to go next when we realized that the family behind us were beginning a new game after we were told it was too late. I asked why they were able to do this and was told "oh they just snatched up a random reservation". When asked why we weren't given that reservation as we asked first, they were unable to explain why but said we were just about to give yal vouchers. I highly doubt that as no one had attempted to stop us from leaving or apologize prior to me approaching the desk. We accepted the vouchers but I have no intention of returning. Consistency is important and there is too much to do in Houston to roll the dice on if the staff at Puttshack will be in a good mood or if we'll be greeted by scowls and inconvenienced employees. I felt embarrassed bringing my friends to a place I had previously hyped up and will refrain from recommending Puttshack in the future. This was our first time going to a puttshack. Overall, it was a great experience! The food was delicious, it has a fun atmosphere and the putt putt golf was very colorful, challenging, and creative. For the food we got the pepperoni buzz flatbread and the Korean bbq bao buns. They were both very delicious! I would say it was better than a typical pepperoni pizza. The bread was crisp and there were chunks of marinara blended in the melted cheese, which the cheese was amazing as well. The bbq bao I had never had before anywhere else. This would be a highly recommended choice. The bbq was amazing and the toppings and sauce were paired perfectly. The bread was also different in the best way and very good. The presentation on all items was excellent! 5 stars! My only negative is the music. Walk into a very live colorful scene. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. I had a reservation and they directed us to our area rather quickly. Really loved visiting Puttshack! I wanted to go to Popstroke one night but it's so far from where I live and someone recommended Puttshack as an alternative. The parking situation is not ideal, as you would expect for downtown. They have discount validation available at 811 Caroline parking garage, but somehow I missed the garage. I parked right across the street but ended up paying 25 dollars for parking for the evening. :( maybe even better to Uber. Puttshack has high tech balls that track your score- which is a nice alternative to writing the score on a scorecard. There are 4 different courses in total- although we were disappointed that only one was open to general public that night. There was a private event We drank Moscow Mules for most of the night and each of our rounds had different garnishes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We ordered the bao buns and the tailpipes as appetizers. Overall would not recommend Puttshack and definitely not this location. The check-in process was slightly confusing as we checked in at the downstairs front desk and were told to go upstairs only to check-in at the upstairs desk and then be told to refer to a screen. From there we had to find our way to the correct bay. Seems like they could have removed some employees entirely given how little direction or explanation they provided. Our group ordered drinks before we started playing since we were waiting on one last group member anyways. The bartender was so rude and the service was very slow. My espresso martini was okay but definitely not the best. When we got to our bay, it was tough to compact our party of seven so that everyone could hear the explanation. We felt bad that we were holding up other parties behind us. Sometimes the points weren't captured and we were unable to go back to play those holes for points since there was such a backup of people. read more

I'm giving this place three stars simply for the atmosphere. A friend of mine had her birthday here and it was about 10 of us. We played nine holes which took about an hour, but it was really fun! This place is lively, young, and overall we had a really great time. The cons were : While we were playing, we didn't receive any service as far as drinks, food, a waiter never approached us. Once we were done playing, we sat at the bar and while the bartenders were attentive, I just wouldn't say it was anything outstanding. **The food was actually terrible. Like real life terrible. Originally we ordered the brussels sprouts. I kid you not, I'm being completely honest, these were the worst brussels sprouts I've ever had in my life. I love brussels sprouts, so understand my sincerity when I say the worst. I then ordered the beignets to go and the margarita pizza. The margarita pizza was basic at best. I didn't know there was a vinegrette sauce on top which completely ruined the pizza. It was also tiny, portion size wise. The beignets were just OK. My biggest advice: if you're going to come here, whether that's with friends or on a date, just make reservations for another restaurant after. Visited this place last night at around 8pm. We had a reservation for dinner and one for putt putt. Dinner service was relatively fast. I ordered a mango margarita and a margherita pizza. The pizza was great! It was a perfect portion if you have a small appetite. Our waiter was decent but it was hard to get his attention after we received our food. I saw plenty of people walking in without a reservation but always best to make one just in case. The place was pretty packed for a Wednesday night. As far was the putt putt goes, they 3 different areas. They were having technical difficulties with 2 of them throughout the whole night. Kind of a bummer since it made the one available area crowded. However, I thought the putt areas were fun and had cool obstacles and lots of different ways to score (or lose) extra points.
