Looks fun for mini golf. Stopped there to get some food and drinks in the late evening. I don't know if it's only on the weekends that they have a dj but the music was way too loud. You couldn't even attempt to have a conversation with someone without screaming over the music. It's not a club so come on. Food was mediocre. Poutine barely had any gravy poured over it and chips for crab dip looked like they threw whatever chips they had on hand. Who comes here just to eat? I do, 'cause that's how I roll. And it was good, too. Maryland crab dip was flavorful, hot in a skillet from the oven with a crunchy breadcrumb top. It was essentially spinach artichoke dip with a bunch of crab meat, but pretty good. It came with a large basket of housemade potato chips mixed with tortilla chips - warm and salty. Another shareable that we got was the Red Hot Riplets tailpipes, These were three long springrolls stuffed with tender, juicy chicken and cheese and vegetables. I really liked these savory bites. They came with a ranch dip and a spicy aioli with crushed Riplets on top. The aioli was good, not too spicy, but I thought they could have put more and better crushed up Riplets on top to give some more punch. We finished with sticky toffee banana cake. It wasn't actually a sticky toffee, but still was extremely rich and decadent. A dense puck of warm, buttery banana bread topped with a large scoop of vanilla bean gelato - it comes with a little pitcher of warm banana butter scotch sauce that you pour over the top. Yesterday, April 17th I ate at the Puttshack, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. As someone with a severe egg allergy, I rely on accurate information from restaurants to make safe choices. The Puttshack does NOT have an allergen menu! My server was well aware of my allergy. Regrettably, this restaurant failed to inform me about the presence of eggs in one of their dishes, putting my health at risk. Within minutes I had an adverse reaction and had to leave immediately with my family who is visiting from Seattle. Eating food with egg/mayonnaise makes me sick for several days. Now I will miss spending precious time with my loved ones. I frequently eat out locally and when travelling. Many times, the cooks and staff have come to my table to reassure me I will be safe. It was evident that the staff lacked proper training regarding food allergies. Some allergies are life threatening. Don't eat here! read more

I really wanted to like Puttshack, but it has a long way to go in my opinion. Staff is very fragmented and undertrained, especially regarding the actual wait staff and mini golf course attendants. The actual gameplay is challenging due to large groups within small spaces, issues with sensors, etc. The building itself is amazing, but not worth it in my opinion. Reviewing Puttshack is difficult because it isn't just a minigolf place with some casual bar food. It's a full restaurant and a mini golf place with four courses to play. The experience of minigolf is well thought out. Each player is given a golf ball that is registered to them. When they putt, the computer system tracks how many hits it takes to score. The only negative here is that the tracking takes time, so if someone's ball stops and they putt again within a few seconds, it won't properly register that the ball had stopped. The initial experience is a bit confusing. The host directed me to the computer systems to the left which seemed a bit unintuitive. Then it seemed a bit unclear where we were supposed to go. It's not unmanageable but it does require a bit of extra thought if it's your first time. Especially if you're tired from work. Regarding the food and drinks; They were simply stellar. I never expected this at a place like Puttshack and would honestly return just to eat. Highly recommend it for the food alone. read more

I was very excited to see we now have a Puttshack in St. LOUIS! I made plans for my wife and I to check it out on our night away from the children. It's very visually pleasing when you walk in. The setup, the bars, the lights, 2 levels to occupy and play... but when you walk in to the host desk, if you're not there to eat they kind of dismiss you to the sign in panels for golf. Which I didn't think was helpful or accommodating but so be it. We signed in for our RESERVED time slot to play and arrived at our assigned 9 hole course as instructed at 850p... we got our equipment to start at 9:20! We noticed the course design flaw IMMEDIATELY. They have 9 putt-putt holes layed out creatively in a somewhat small space, but they have the entry and the course exit utilizing the same narrow opening! So if they're behind schedule (as they were) and you have ppl lined up waiting to play because they arrived at their RESERVED time you have a bottleneck with the ppl/ groups finishing holes 8 & 9 along with the ppl/ groups waiting to play! WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA??? Also, your instructed to just pick a hole and play but you end up cutting ppl that are playing in numeric order and that can cause issues (especially with alcohol involved). When new and busy (like now) there ends up being SO MANY ppl trying to play in this small space and your just standing shoulder to shoulder hoping a group finishes. My wife and I played 2 of the 9 holes and decided we'd had enough, returned the balls and clubs, and left. read more

Worst experience ever. Waited 30 minutes on a Friday afternoon even though we had a set tee time. However, they escorted groups who cut in front of all of us because they did have a tee time. Huh? Parts of the course didn't work. Tech constantly had to be called. Staff did not know what to do or what the procedures are for the course. Some even had quite the attitude! Lots of drunk people playing. No room around the holes to stand. We always felt like we were in someone's way. Course was squished into the tiniest corner of the humongous room. I do understand now the purpose of Puttshack- it's just something to do while you're drinking and having fun with your friends. That's great if that's what you want to do, but don't advertise it as mini golf because it's not. Saw a lot of kids there but I wouldn't recommend it as a place for kids. read more

This review is based on a thief or huge mistake within the coat check! We were so excited to go to Puttshack for the opening night! We were greeted and sent on our way for a fun round of mini golf. We had a blast as we went through each round. The disappointment came went we went to retrieve our coats from the coat check. We graciously tipped our coat folks and were returned 3 of our 4 coats. Guess which coat was missing? The minx coat given to an aunt by her belated husband. St Louis City, we are better than this....we brought in our 75-year-old aunt from Clayton and within an hour her coat is missing. They promised to make this right, and we will update everyone tomorrow. I have faith in Shea and look forward to updating this to the 5 star review it should be. I came here as an impromptu date night! I believe it was shortly after it had actually opened on a weekday. We ended up getting reservations(highly recommend) and headed on out to see what it was about. Be warned it is a tad pricey, but the experience you get is phenomenal. The workers were absolutely amazing, and super friendly. The courses were a ton of fun, and they come around on the courses to take your drink order if you wanted one. The food was really good, and if you eat with your eyes first like I do then you'll love the place. Their poutine fries are fantastic. Tons of photo opportunities in the building as well. This place isn't worth the high price at all for only *NINE* holes. ***Poor Quality Course*** The course was constantly glitching out, not reading when balls were hit and in some cases the screen to hit wouldn't change. It seemed like every hole was having an problem. And the course is very small! And a regular mini golf place has way better golfing holes. These are rather basic. ***Long unexpected wait** Although we had a reservation, we still ended up waiting like 20-30 minutes because the course was too crowded. While playing putt putt, the tv screen told us the ball didn't register and to find a staff member. When we finally did find one, she was short with us and looked like we were bothering her. We did stay to eat and we received our drinks at the same time as our food. Well, half our food. We were then told by our server that the kitchen requests they put in 3 orders at a time so our food would be coming out at different times. As someone who has worked in customer service my entire life, I hope I never treat a customer the way I was treated by bartender Ritchie. Not only was he rude, sarcastic, and condescending, but he proceeded to make MULTIPLE disgusting remarks towards my friends, family, and I. The golf was fun and a great environment. The one star review is for the bar service. My husband and I went to the bar for a refreshment and being pregnant I was excited to see a wide variety of mocktail options. I ordered one and tasted it and when I asked what the bar tender had used in the drink she said "we were out of the non alcoholic substitute we usually use so I used peach schnapps." When I said that was an unacceptable substitute for me since it contained alcohol she didn't seem to care. She didn't even apologize or offer any sort of fix for me. It was very very upsetting.
