Ok, you may be like me - how can a place get this many 5 star ratings... that's what i thought when i was frantically looking for a shop who could help me when my car died a handful of blocks away (didn't know if it was the battery or the alternator). Well, they have earned all their 5 star ratings. It was almost 6p when i called them, but they were going to help me get a tow truck and stay open until i got there if i was not able to get a jump (or if it was the alternator and the jump didn't take). Was able to get there (thank you Daniel for the jump) and when it turned out to just be the battery, they offered to replace it right then and there... for a reasonable price. No, not as cheap as Walmart but probably better than i could have gotten anywhere else. In my experience, there aren't many shops around that would provide that level of service. Thank You Richard and the young man you kept calling me ma'am (didn't get your name)!!! read more

Called this place after getting an astronomical quote from the local Volvo dealer and reading the positive Yelp reviews. Richard provide me with a quick estimate (at about a third of the cost of the dealer's quote), ordered the part in one day and fixed four issues the next day. The last issue, a ceiling panel that had become detached, he fixed at no charge. I called a few days ago as my car would not start after leaving target. I thought the gas gauge might have been broken and I had accidentally run out of gas. I walked to the 7-11 next door and put a couple gallons in. Still no dice. The gentleman I spoke with, John, referred me to the tow service that they frequently use. I called the company and they were to me within an hour. Thomas, the tow truck man asked what was wrong with my car and I said try to start it. He did, and of course it started right up for him!- cue the barefoot and back in the kitchen jokes LOL...so I finished running my errands and later that evening it would not start again. I was able to get it started today and drove straight to PV Auto Service and met Richard. I explained to him the issues and what I had noticed after starting my car again (radio resetting, dome light not working), and that I thought it was something electrical. He went out to my car, tested the alternator, and said it was running great. He grabbed a wrench and tightened the screws that hold the battery in place, and voila! Good as new! Richard was so very kind to me and very knowledgeable about the workings of my vehicle. I will be returning to PV Auto Service for any and all car service needs I may have in the future and I most definitely recommend PV Auto Service to anyone looking for an honest, non corporate establishment!
