I'm extremely disappointed with the service I received here, especially because this became a serious safety concern. I brought my vehicle in for an oil change and was told by the representative that everything had been checked and that my car was in great condition. Approximately 20 minutes after leaving the appointment, one of my tires popped. After having the vehicle inspected elsewhere, I learned that two of my tires were bald and deteriorating from the inside. This was especially concerning because I had just been assured that the vehicle had been checked and everything looked fine. A proper inspection should have identified tires in that condition, particularly when they were deteriorated enough for one to fail shortly after leaving. I also discovered that the filter that should have been addressed during the service was not changed, which raised even more questions about how thoroughly my vehicle was actually inspected. I understand that routine maintenance cannot prevent every unexpected issue, but telling a customer that their vehicle has been checked and everything is fine creates an expectation that obvious safety concerns have actually been reviewed. Driving away with two severely worn tires, only to have one pop 20 minutes later, could have resulted in a much more serious situation. This experience has left me with very little confidence in the quality and thoroughness of the service I received. I would strongly recommend that customers independently verify their vehicle's condition rather than relying solely on the inspection performed here. read more

Had ok service here before but will not be returning. Went in for an A/C service and oil change. They did my oil change and then the car sat there for an hour untouched with the hood up and no communication. I was the second person in the door that morning and first person, and many after me, were long gone. The person behind the counter lied to me and told me they had been working on it throughout while I had been watching in not be touched for an hour. What started as a simple alignment-coupon visit back in mid-June ended with a completely fried transmission just 95 days later -- and me having to buy a new car. When my vehicle suddenly lost all drive function (no forward or reverse), I took it straight to Planet Ford because I assumed I was dealing with an internal transmission failure. That's when I learned the truth: the transmission had lost its fluid due to a major leak at the driver-side CV axle -- the exact area Kwik Kar had serviced. Had I known the axle work and the transmission failure were connected, I would have returned to them immediately. I only agreed to replace the entire CV axle because Clayton, the shop manager, told me the torn boot near the driver's-side tire required a full axle replacement. But after the work was done, a slow leak developed at the seal/bushing area. It was later confirmed by multiple technicians that the issue came from excess play caused by the replacement axle shaft not properly fitting the original transmission bushing -- a bushing they inspected and claimed was "fine," but clearly was not. All I can do now is warn others: please think twice before bringing your vehicle there. The promises of help were not followed through, the accountability never came, and I would not wish this experience on anyone. read more

I purchased a new battery today for my 2019 Mazda CX-5 at the Fitzhugh location near my home. Before doing so, I researched options and pricing at three locations: a Mazda dealer, Walmart, and Kwik Kar. Given that my car is driven very little--approximately 12,000 miles over six years--an entry-level battery was not an appropriate or informed choice. Walmart offered a premium-level battery (EverStart Maxx) for $139, plus $15 for installation, with a three-year warranty. I reasonably assumed that Kwik Kar would install a comparable battery, especially since the total cost was higher. Instead, an entry-level "12 Month Wet Battery" was installed at a cost of $199, significantly inferior value at a significantly higher price. When I reviewed the receipt and noticed the battery description, I called Clayton, who performed the installation, to ask whether the incorrect battery had been selected by mistake and whether an exchange or price adjustment could be made. I made this call approximately 30 minutes after leaving the shop. I was told that my old battery had already been removed from the property and that once installed, a battery could not be returned or exchanged--effectively eliminating any opportunity to correct what appears to be a mismatch between price and product. I then contacted corporate headquarters in Plano, only to be told that the Fitzhugh location is privately owned and that they had no contact information for the owner. I was advised to write directly to the store. This experience is both disappointing and troubling. I paid a premium price and received an entry-level product without explanation, choice, or recourse. At a minimum, this situation warrants review and a reasonable resolution. I am bringing this to your attention because I expected better transparency, value, and customer service. P.S. They never called after they said they would, I had to call them. Never told me my car didn't pass because of wiper blades (which are fine), until I read the receipt when I got home. Cowards and crooks. Take your car elsewhere Amended note since Kwik Kar replied: I also asked them to look into the low tire gauge warning light, I explained that I've attempted to reset it many times, but the light doesn't go away. It probably is a faulty sensor in one of the tires. They said they'd look into it, but apparently did not. The invoice does not mention any attempt to troubleshoot. Please just refund my money, I don't want to do further business with Kwik Kar. As I stated previously, I'll take my car elsewhere. read more

This place charged me 700 dollars to change the brake pads. They put your car up on the lift and then give you a price. Don't waste your time -- you can go to your dealer for the same price or Breaks Plus for half the cost. Total scam artist, not the kind of people you want to do business with. As others reviews have said, don't even waste your time coming here for a state inspection. I've tried this location 3 times in the last month due to the close proximity near my home. All 3 times they've had an excuse to not do the inspection. Inspector is sick, then picking his kids up at school and is out for the day at 2:30, now the machine is broken. All of these trips were made easily within business hours - before 3pm. If you don't want the business of doing inspections why do you advertise it? Can't imagine how much money this location loses from turning away business repeatedly. read more

Robinson and Jesus were so helpful when I showed up with an overheating car and was super worried. The shop was a half hour away from closing up but they greeted me with respect and were totally on top of it. They took their time to assess what was wrong with my car, check for leaks, replenish the coolant and get out a lot of the air that was affecting my engine. They were very professional and helpful and for that I wont take my car anywhere else. Being new to the area, it means a lot to meet staff that take car issues seriously, are honest and are generous with their time and expertise. read more

They're pretty straightforward and get the job done in a reasonable amount of time. The guys (only saw men on both trips) are courteous once you get their attention. There's rarely [actually never] anyone at the desk unless they just finished a job and are checking someone out before they get to the next car. I had to be that rude northerner who walks into the garage and demands attention. I came by on my lunch break for an inspection. After flagging some guys down and them yelling back some stuff one guy finally came over and said it'd be about 40 minute wait so I asked if could come back just after 5 knowing that they closed at 5:30. He said it was fine and that he'd take care of me and when I came back at 5:10 it was not busy and I found the same guy and he had me drive it into the garage. The inspection took around 25-30 minutes maybe and the check-out process was pretty seamless. They lose some brownie points for parking my car in first gear instead of neutral causing me to stall as soon as I cranked it up. That's annoying. I passed my inspection. read more

To start this review: I've already reported this location to the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint. For anyone needing this link: https://www.bbb.org/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/get-started According to Texas State Law Window Tinting Standards: "1. Sunscreening devices must be applied above the AS-1 line." However, "5. A clear (un-tinted) UV film is allowed anywhere on the front windshield without a medical exemption being required." Upon arrival, I requested simply that I have an TX Inspection completed to update my registration. When the inspection finished, the inspector stated he was very sorry that, when removing my stickers, he damaged the untinted film in the windshield. I asked what the plan was to repair the damage. In front of two other customers, the inspector claimed that I had expired tags and an illegal tint, and, therefore, they are not liable for damages. *Response: Not only do I have film that is legal (untinted), but there was no documented diagnostics to prove if it was illegal. Additionally, at the point of damage, TX inspection stickers are no longer required and there would be no point to remove and replace in the windshield.* Next, the inspector stated that I didn't tell him about the tint, and that he would not have removed that area if he had prior knowledge. *Response: He never asked if I wanted him to remove the stickers and, again, there is point for him to remove and replace an inspection sticker* *For historical references, stickers have been removed in the past without any damage to my untinted windows.* By that point, I'd heard enough of the inspector's misinformation and requested to speak to the manager. When the manager came out, he said the exact same thing and said that they claimed no liability for the damages - due to the illegal tint. It seemed that though I was more aware of the (Texas Administrative Code - Title 37) allowance of an UNTINTED UV FILM ALLOWED ANYWHERE, it made no sense for them to acknowledge damaging my property and then deny repair/reimbursement. To add more salt to the wound, THEY REQUIRED THAT I PAID FOR THEIR SUB-PAR SERVICES - EVEN THE DAMAGING ONE. Sadly, I found myself leaving this facility as if I had just been verbally railroaded by their words that didn't even have credibility. When I got home, I collected my thoughts, gathered photos, and grouped documentation to present to their management. In reflection, the manager and inspector completely bullied me with misinformation and it was apparent that the untinted window damage extended beyond the sticker size. Consequently, I found myself compiling an email containing: copy of Texas Administrative Code - Title 17 Sectioned, a Kwik Kar report lacking indication that I wished the stickers removed, and several pictures showing the damage. When I emailed the the manager this information, I received a response from an untitled employee who wrote "You also requested that we remove the expired inspection sticker and the expired registration sticker." **Response: I did not ask them to remove the stickers. That is false** with pretty much the same story as the manager and inspector. In the end of his email, this untitled, unaccredited employee judged the situation - "As we were following state procedure at your own request, we are not liable for the damage to the window." *Response:Just because someone is executing a state procedure does not mean they are exempt from sloppy and irresponsible damages. Low quality work directly reflects your organization and business, as seen by this job* I replied to him simply writing "Please provide me your position title and next steps moving forward on a claim for this damage. If this issue is not resolved immediately, then I will be immediately confer to move forward with legal action." *Note: Meant to write I will Immediately confer...* Though I asked politely in my email - OVER A WEEK AGO -, the individual has yet to respond with any title of credibility, provide any point of contact, and has not directed me toward any process to claim damage within their company. With that in mind, I will not be deterred from receiving repair or reimbursement for these backhanded dealings and bullying. I'll repeat: According to Texas State Law Window Tinting Standards: "1. Sunscreening devices must be applied above the AS-1 line." However, "5. A clear (un-tinted) UV film is allowed anywhere on the front windshield without a medical exemption being required." As I've already stated, I have filed a BBB complaint for their actions and my next step (after social reviews) will be to the Consumer Report. If this doesn't invoke a solution for the damage that they have caused to my car, then I will be taking legal action. In fact, I'm in the process of obtaining a lawyer. I don't know how this location stays open. They open at 8 am. I waited 15 minutes, then he shows up at 1 minute before they open, doesn't come out to see what I need. I have to go inside for him to be rude AF to me and then tells me he has to turn on the compressor for me to get air in my tires which could take 30-40 minutes. I'm sorry, but if you open at 8 and your compressor takes 30 minutes before you can use it, then you should have been there at 7:30 am so all services you provide are available at 8 a.m. I will NEVER go to this location again. For anything! It's things like this and all they do is upsell everything thing when you do get an oil change. HORRIBLE! read more

Maybe my first yelp review ever that's how bad this was. Walked in and asked if they could fix my AC. The guy told me yes, the service costs $100 and they'll call me when it's done. I received no call the entire day, come to find out the man was "hungover" and went home without telling anyone. When I got there they said it'd be $100 and they weren't sure if it was fixed. They said it'd be another $100 for them to be certain on that. To top it off, the man I spoke with, Chris I believe, was extremely rude. Went as far as to mock me twice saying "sounds familiar? Unexpected inconvenience driving to work ruined my engine splash shield so I decided to go get some help during my one hour lunch break. The staff were fairly busy but still took the time to look into it since i guess they noticed I was in a bit of a rush and that just made my quick experience so memorable. I thank the gentleman with glasses, long hair, fairly tall. Sadly I didn't get his name, but he exceeded my expectations by his work ethic in assisting every costumer. Not only did he take the time to look at my car and quickly fix it, but he also demonstrated good costumer service and great time management skills. Car is fixed but service needs work. After noticing the wrong parts were ordered they gave me the option to keep my car overnight or pick it up same day (they replaced the old parts so I could drive it, which was appreciated), but they didn't call me the next day when it was ready and their phones went unanswered all day. It took a dozen calls to figure out my car was ready (no voicemail set up either). Front desk was unattended most of the time, I had to walk through the shop to get ahold of someone to check me out. While they fixed my car at the end of the day, their attentiveness to customer service needs to improve or they need to hire more staff. Only good thing was that they replaced the old O2 sensors and offered to have me pick up the car the first day they realized they ordered the wrong parts and it wouldn't be ready until the next day. They "forgot" to put the bulb back in my "broken" headlight so I would have to come back or pay more at the dealership since I needed to get the headlight fixed same day. As per usual (I've done a few oil changes and state inspections here before they are usually quite slow) They never call to check in when you leave your car. I had to call an hour later to see what was up with my car. Do not use this place even if it is convenient especially if you are a woman.
