This was hands down the best experience I've had at an auto repair shop or for that matter just about anywhere. Richard made me feel like I was the last customer on planet earth. I had my 09 car towed to the shop with a busted water pump. Richard had my car turned around in less than a business day and even offered to stick around at the shop after close until I could make it there from work. Did i fail to mention he was the cheapest price in town (called the other 6 top reviewed shops in Dallas)? Last but not least, he put on a new serpentine belt for me "because he was down in there anyway". For FREE. If you are in the Dallas area and need a repair, there is no choice, get that thing in to PV. If you are in the Houston area, drive your car to Dallas and get it to PV. Service: front brake pads Time: left my car with them all day, not sure about how long it would take in a hurry Nice, HONEST, kind, friendly, family-oriented mechanics who are willing to listen, answer questions, and teach their customers. The garage reminds me of my dad's- slightly chaotic and messy, cars are everywhere - this is how true mechanics work. Don't expect the sterility of a F1 or dealer's shop. The prices can't be beat, but you should worry about quality more than money and this place seems to hit all the marks for quality too. This will be my trusted mechanic for as long as I live in the DFW area. Side story: While I was dropping my car off in the morning, a woman with an overheated Jeep got towed into the shop. Richard found the problem in minutes and didn't charge her for the fix. Other shops would have kept her car all day and charged her for a new radiator. read more

After being receiving an absolutely outrageous quote by another automotive shop to replace the timing chain on my vehicle I decided to contact this business. Instead of fixing the timing chain they offered to replace my engine at a substantially lower price. After about a week or so of trying to locate a quality used engine the shop owner PV ( not sure how you spell his name) wasn't happy with any of the motors and decided to replace my timing chain instead. To me that is an incredibly honest and damn decent thing of them to do considering they could have just replaced the engine and sent me on my way. The best part is they were going to complete the repairs at the same price I was initially quoted! So instead of replacing the engine they replaced the entire timing chain kit, water pump, refurbished and/or replaced almost every component in the head, replaced the main seal, cleaned the entire engine surface, and most of the engine compartment. I wish I had a before and after picture since my explanation doesn't suffice. Although the quality of work is top notch and this is by far the most honest automotive shop I've done business with, the turnaround for my repair was four weeks. I'm fully aware that it was a monumental effort to complete all of these repairs and the time frame wasn't too unreasonable. My only issue was that the estimated completion time was left up in the air from the get-go and kept getting pushed by a day or two as the repairs were wrapped up. All in all, I highly recommend this auto shop and you will not be unsatisfied with the level of service you receive. But be aware that their communication and organization isn't the best so you will have to be persistent to make sure your repairs get done in a timely manner. read more

The starter on our daughter's vehicle was dying and diagnosed by Firestone to be replaced $590+. Called Richard up and they did it for half that. Fixed it in a day and as always, these guys are great to work with. Multiple team members at my work also go here because they are like family and do quality work without overcharging you. read more

Let me start off by saying this place is the absolute BEST when it comes to customer service and more than efficient mechanics! Earlier today, my car overheated and started smoking! I was really scared as I am single female and am not fortunate enough to live close to my dad for help. I hurried and googled the closest place with the best ratings and let me tell you...they did NOT disappoint. First off, I called to see if I needed an appointment. They were SO polite and told me the diagnostic look would be free and to just bring it by. I came by 15 min later and they figured out what was wrong AND fixed it. I have a Jetta and I know those parts can be a pain to find. They fixed it within an hour AND gave me a great price. Richard is the best and he was so sweet and tried to get to know me (unlike other places that charge you an arm and a leg and want you to just pay and leave). I didn't have cash on me to pay so he even let me take my car to the ATM and come back. They are very honest to goodness genuine people that aren't trying to rip you off. I'm sure that these guys mean well! But, after replacing 2 motor mounts and still not fixing the problem, I had someone else look at my car and they found and fixed the problem! PV Auto would have had me replace the 3rd motor mount and I still would have had the same problem. Since the problem wasn't fixed, it would seem reasonable to me to adjust what you charge for the work if there's still a problem ... I know that we all make mistakes! It would be nice if PV Auto would have just admitted to their diagnostic error in this case and we could have worked from there. Oh well!!! read more

Great, honest guys. Every time I come here for a repair, they're friendly, transparent and willing to give advice--even if that doesn't involve a repair. Of all the mechanics in the area I've tried (Master, European Service Center, Brake Stop) they consistently have the best service and lowest prices. Nothing against the other guys, of course. Richard is by far one of the most honest guys out there! His care for his customers is why I honestly don't call any other shop but PV. This guy doesn't try to rip you off and find more "problems" with your car. He will give you a fair and great price and there was a time where I went to 20 different mechanics and all of them told me different things that were $200 dollars and up but I went to Richard and it took him 4 minutes to tell me that he thinks it's the oil control valve and that he could change it but he said I'd save more if I did it my self since it's like 2 bolts and one connection. The part costed me 35 bucks at autozone and took me 5 minutes to put in at home and fixed 7 check engine codes! I was immediately set on going to pv only! Love those guys! read more

Had to go twice, and pay twice for a gas smell that wouldn't go away. Nice guy, but I need a thorough mechanic to properly diagnose the problem the first time. More visits means more labor cost and more likely misdiagnosis and replacement of parts that we can do without. Now my engine stalls after visiting PV, I'm afaid taking it back there again will result in more expenditure without repair. Will need to look for a new mechanic, unfortunately, he knows my cars history may need to go back. read more

I didn't really believe the reviews until I came here. I was turned away from Cowboy Toyota, because their body shop person took the day off (yup, I had an appointment). BEWARE OF THIS PLACE. Time after time I've taken my vehicle here for repairs (their prices are cheap, but beware because you get what you paid for) only to have it break down a few days later. The white male mechanic wearing the dark rimmed eyeglasses can be very sarcastic and he certainly loves the ladies. Be ready to have him gawk and creep you out. This car shop was the only place that was willing to actually search my transmission until they found out the cause of the exceedingly annoying sound my car was making. Seriously! When I arrived there were two customers ahead of us, he worked us in and all together we were there less than 40 minutes.
