HORRIBLE!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE The workers and management at Q & Q Cleaners displayed behavior that I experienced as discriminatory, dismissive, and deeply unprofessional. As a person of color in Columbia Heights, DC, a neighborhood built on diversity and a multicultural community, I found the way I was treated both troubling and unacceptable. I brought in two white shirts to be cleaned. They were returned damaged. When I calmly asked what had happened and attempted to resolve the issue, the response was not accountability, an apology, or any attempt to make things right. Instead, management chose to close my account rather than address the problem. Being treated this way raises serious concerns about how customers of color are viewed and handled by this business. Rather than engage in basic customer service, they simply shut the door when questioned. In a neighborhood like Columbia Heights, where businesses benefit directly from a diverse community, this kind of conduct is particularly disturbing. People of color should be aware of how they may be treated here. And frankly, anyone who does not tolerate racism or discriminatory behavior should think twice about supporting this business. Businesses that operate in diverse communities have a responsibility to treat all customers with fairness and respect. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Q & Q Cleaners. A business that responds to legitimate concerns by pushing customers out instead of taking responsibility should not expect the trust or support of the community. read more

They seem to lean very heavily into the many services they do not do with (not soiled) dresses. I think they arbitrarily tell certain customers that they can't clean certain items (that are not in bad shape or anything like that). read more

TRASH! Dropped off clothes and specifically requested they replace a zipper in a brand new jumpsuit (tag still on it!). Picked up my clothes expecting the zipper to be fixed but when I went to wear it, the zipper hadn't been replaced at all. Just went back in to inform them of the issue and was told they would do nothing about it because I only paid for it to be cleaned. How would I know that's all they charged me for when the cost was noticeably higher for the jumpsuit than all my other pieces? I offered to pay the difference to have the zipper fixed and was accused of lying about asking to have the zipper fixed the first time. Both women working were disgustingly rude. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place. The 3 stars says it all...AVOID! read more

The woman who apparently manages and/or owns this business is very rude and unprofessional. She took it upon herself to deliver my clothing without stopping at the gate to be announced. I live in a gated community and would have met her outside Apparently she got lost Was frustrated and advised me that they would not be delivering to my complex anymore and that I had never used their delivery service before anyway. This was not true.Most of the employees including her husband have been accommodating He and other staff have been here without issues However I have spoken to this woman before when I complained about spots on my dry cleaning, she told me that I would have y would have to bring my clothing back so She could check Attitude Now I realize who I was dealing with She had no right to take her frustration out on me because she got lost . Minus one star for the unfriendly, if generally competent, standard dry cleaning services. After a year of going here because of the convenience, I've grown frustrated by the billing practices a previous reviewer notes: beware that sometimes a shirt you've dropped off for $1.85 laundering comes back with a $5.50 price tag for full dry cleaning and pressing you didn't ask for. Minus one star for the absolutely incompetent tailor. DO NOT GO HERE FOR ALTERATIONS. Wish I had seen the other user's photo of the buttons on his jacket before bringing two suit jackets here to have the sleeves let out. At $30/jacket, they came back with sleeves let out far longer than I'd asked for, improperly sewn back together (so that there were 2" slits up the side of the sleeve), and with the buttons sewn back on crookedly and in different places so the buttons on each side of the jacket are asymmetrical. A lady with a sewing machine does not a tailor make. My mistake for having two jackets done in my first attempt with alterations there. Finally, minus one star for the disgraceful customer service when things go wrong. I brought the suit jackets back to explain that I would need to now take them to a proper tailor to be fixed up, and asked for at least a partial refund or credit toward future dry cleaning. I was told that they'd be willing to try again -- but why would I want someone who obviously does not know what she's doing to inflict further damage? They flatly refused to provide any sort of credit or refund, even after admitting the job had been totally botched. And they suggested that if I was not happy, I could take my business elsewhere. This used to be a Georgetown Valet but was taken over by new owners sometime in the last few months. This is honestly the best dry cleaner that I've been to in DC. The couple that owns the place is very friendly. They do a great job on my clothes. Also, items can be ready same-day or next-day without an additional charge. This is hard to find in DC. The work is done on premises so the chance of something getting lost is pretty slim. I used to go to the OXXO cleaners next door but found the service to be rude there and them to be incredibly expensive. Try this place out. You will like it! read more

This is one of the more convenient dry cleaners in my area, but I was not that impressed. I made the very unfortunate mistake of having expensive silk ties dry cleaned here. We are talking Versace, Armani, and Zegna level of expensive. The kind of ties that cost up to 200 a piece. A few of these ties got a little dirty - some food stains and the like. Not only did they look absolutely no different, but they were flattened and ironed out. The once plush, thick silk was now flat as paper. I was extremely upset about this. This is not how one treats expensive neckwear. That being said, I have been happy with coats and shirts and the like that are cleaned well and pressed. They use a fair amount of starch in the collar, which I like. Maybe this detailed pressing of shirts is what led to my ties being so flattened out. Just bring the usual items to this place. Anything too fancy and you risk getting very angry. read more

This place is HORRIBLE. If this review saves any of you from experiencing the horror of this awful dry cleaner, then I've done my job. I dropped off about $420 worth of clothing to be dry cleaned. They had it ready for me two days later, which seems great. Right? Wrong. When I picked up my things, there were blue/black stains covering everything! Like even on the inside lining of clothes, these stains persisted. In addition, they had broken a number of beads on a silk shirt I had only worn three times. These stains/damages DID NOT exist when I dropped my items off; however, of course it was their defense that the items arrived this way. They even laughed in my face when I stated that they were 100% wrong. Finally, after 20 minutes of arguing, the manager offered to return the over $60 I had paid for them to make my clothes dirtier and redo the job. Fine. I come back, and the stains are STILL on my clothes and the silk shirt is riddled with holes. He said that they did the best they could. So the best they could was to further damage my items? Awesome. When I told him I wanted to be reimbursed for the cost of my damaged items, he laughed in my face and told me to call a lawyer. Best advice: if you value your clothes at all, avoid this place AT ALL COSTS. It's TERRIBLE. read more

I wanted to like this place, but after 3 bad experiences (in a row!) with their billing practices I've decided not to return. On each visit I brought 15+ shirts to be laundered and pressed. Each time they pulled out 1 shirt and charged me $5,50 for hand pressing, without telling me. I guess shame on me for not checking the receipt before I walked out, but each time I never got far from the door and returned to ask why. Reasons given: 1. A snap on the shirt, 2. The shirt was too thin to be put on the press; 3. The waffle pattern of the shirt. Really?!? I've been dry cleaning these shirts for 3 years at a different cleaner without incident. Ughh, so I took in pants to have them let out by an inch. I confirmed twice that they were letting them out by an inch just to be sure. I pick up the pants. Yep, they instead took them in by an inch and now they're unwearable. Never had a problem with the dry cleaner part of their business, but will not use them for any alterations in the future. read more

I took my $140 suit coat there to get 1/2" taken off the sleeves. The coat I got in return looked like they let a 6 year old sew buttons back on. They thread looks like crap and the buttons aren't even sewn in a straight line. Yes, they offered to try to fix it but I was so furious that I did not ever want to mess with them again. I will never, ever take a single item of my clothing to them again. Oh, and it cost me $27 dollars just to get the sleeves hemmed too. RIP OFF ALERT. read more

Advertise a shirt laundry service for $1.85, but it's only for men. I dropped off a button down for laundry and saw that they were going to charge $5.50. When asked why, they said it was because it's a women's shirt, and women's shirts don't fit on the machine so have to be ironed by hand. I'm 5'11. When I pointed this out, she said it was because of the fabric. (It's cotton.) When I said 'this seems kind of sexist' she responded: "I know, right?" Seriously. These people are clowns. read more

This is my go-to dry cleaner. I have only had good experiences there in the 2+ years I've been a customer. Even after I moved from Col Heights to Mt Pleasant I decided to go out of my way to take my clothes here. I tried both of the cleaners in Mt Pleasant and both ruined/faded items on my first visit. I think Q&Q's strength must be that they have a plant on-site, because I've always gotten my clothes back in great condition and they have worn well over time. I won't take my clothes anywhere else! Q & Q has a super convenient location and also offers a 24-hr drop-off service. They are pretty expensive but otherwise I have no complaints about their dry cleaning service. They've always done a good and timely job. However, I do have a problem with their alterations department. The tailor(s) here have ruined three of my dresses, which are now all beyond repair. The first was a simple hem gone terribly wrong/short. The second should have been a simple fix of the sleeves, which were also too short. Finally, regrettably, I came for a third try and received another tragic hem repair. I should have known better and never gone back after the first botched alteration but this place is SO conveniently located that I couldn't stay away. I have finally learned my lesson and will never bring anything here for alteration. I would not recommend that anyone bring any of their clothes here for alteration. read more

I don't usually write reviews but if I can prevent you from the poor customer experience I consistently received here, it's worth it. I endured the rude personnel's impatient demeanor for a few trips because it is a block from my place. Long enough to confirm that putting the customer last is the rule, not the exception. If I'm going to be charged high costs for mediocre cleaning, there are many nearby businesses who will treat me better - and probably do a better job. QQ sets the bar rather low in both regards. read more

I have been a customer for six years with only one issue where I've had to bring something back before today. Cleaning and alterations have been pretty satisfactory, though, I admit, I'm not very observant or demanding. Today I brought back a sweater that still had the tag on from its last cleaning. When I took it out last week to wear, there was a stain on it, so I brought it back to have them reclean it. (They aren't cheap.) The employee checked the tag and said it had been cleaned four months ago and started scolding me for waiting so long to bring it back and implying I might have to pay for them to clean again. First of all, I swear it was more recent than that that I had brought it in, but who knows? I'm getting old. I do know that I JUST took it out recently to wear and, voila, the stain. I hadn't worn it; it hadn't been anywhere but my dresser. It was just so odd to be treated like that. She knows me; I've been a customer for so long. Then, she tried to keep me there forever to help explain her position on the matter....I was just trying to get out of there to go pick up my cat who had just had teeth extracted! All she had to do for a six-year customer was say, "Oh, okay. We'll redo it." But, alas, I walked out with my stuff and said, "You've lost a customer." And, you know, I could've probably just gotten it out with a little soapy water. read more

I don't understand all the negative reviews -- I have been going here once a week for the past 1.5 years, and have never had a bad experience. The staff is efficient and courteous (especially June, the owner), and the quality is good and reliable. Most of the time, my clothes are done early. The only negative thing I can think to mention is that a couple of times, I have asked them to replace buttons that had fallen off my dress shirts, and when I picked up the shirts, they forgot to do this (this has happened twice). But it's no big deal, and the buttons were replaced the next time I asked. read more

I have taken my dress shirts to this dry cleaner a few times. In the beginning, everything was fine, just as every other dry cleaner generally are. after my 4th or 5th time, I noticed a shirt I was wearing had two holes in it and I knew it was from the dry cleaner but it had been too long since I picked it up so I just left it at that. Went back, picked up another set, a day later found my expensive dress shirt with a long cut on the sleeve. When I spoke to them about it, the front asian lady was blowing me off telling me it happens. That is fine, it happens, now either fix it or pay for it. She refused. I still had the tag and and everything on the shirt and she did not care. Does not surprise me because she is generally rude everytime I pick up and drop off. Point being, they do not care for their customers at all. The business model is zero focues on customer satisfaction. She is an angry late 20s early 30s year old who works in her parents dry cleaner all day long, so it is clear she does not care about their clientele. Every other dry cleaning business, the asian owners are usually very friendly and happy to greet you. Point being, STAY AWAY!!! They are overpriced and at least 1 of your outfits will either have a tear or stain. read more

I went here since it was so close to home but that is a mistake I will never do again. My regular button shirts were $5.50 each and a shirt dress was over 9 dollars. When I went to pick up my clothes the dress had a spot on it that wasn't there before so I left it with them to clean again. I used a pencil to point to the spot and when I came back to pick it up the pencil mark was still on it! Clearly they didn't do anything and I still had ti pay for it. Once I got home and fully took it out the plastic I noticed there were other parts of the dress that you can clearly see were not cleaned. I would have been better off just putting it in the washing machine but I will never go there again. I would rather hand wash my clothes than return to this place with such poor service in both laundering and customer service. I went to Q Q for about a year without any major problems. Then I had my winter coats cleaned. After I had them cleaned I didn't get them out for a few weeks since it was warm enough not to use them. The gloves that I accidentally left in the pockets for both coats were gone. I called them and visited the store and they were completely unhelpful and blamed me for leaving the gloves in the pockets. 1 set of gloves was a very expensive pair of Italian leather gloves. No apology, no acknowledgement that somebody must have taken them. Then I noticed that the leather on the sleeves of my wool coat was ruined, as well. Clearly, I am never going back there. read more

I've been going to them ever since even though there is another dry cleaner down the street from my home. I just moved to this area of town for work and needed a dependable dry cleaner who could do alterations for reasonable price. I tried them out on a few of my husband's suits and was pretty happy with the quality of the work and such short time. They really came through when it was time for my wedding. I found really good deal on my wedding dress that needs complicated alterations. They really pulled of with amazing job. Im a born and raised washingtonian 46 yrs and this cleaners has been here for a lot of years and I think they are confusing cheap rent in the bad years with longevity and good craftsmanship. This is my first time using this cleaners in a long time, using OXXO Better service and now that they are gone I was forced to used QQ Cleaners after all these years nothings changed. I took in 4 suits and 2 silk ties and 4 days latter three out of the 4 suits stains removed but the fourth tan suit had to be redone (lite ball point marks) 5 days latter I look over the jacket and notice it has a discolored spot now and the girl at the front desk has the nerve to say "it must have been there when you brought it in" now us cleaners clan know our clothing that we clean our suits our ties and yes ladies your skirts and blouses and we know whats out of place and where it supposed to be so again Sorry this is my very first post and in future posts I will cut down the rambling on now it's a BIG NO on Q Q Cleaners don't waist your money try a place near your job and that cost a little more but gives you the service your clothes deserve I know that I will and I will list the best in DC soon read more
