    Chicken Over Rice Platter
    Nate M.

I had this like 4 nights ago and can genuinely not stop thinking about it. I need it. One of the best chicken over rices I've had in this city

Great service. They fix the falafel salad platter just the way I ask. Best falafel in NYC.

Great halal cart on UES. Rice is fluffy and fragrant and pairs well with lamb. Green sauce is a must.

My dad is Egyptian, so food like this carries real meaning for our family, and Sabrys delivered in every way. The moment we walked in, we were met with the kind of warmth and hospitality that makes you feel like a guest of honor. They treat everyone that way, which makes it even more special. The meal began with fresh housemade bread, incredible hummus, baba ganoush, and salad, and then came the fish. Honestly, the best fish I've ever had, and we've dined at wonderful restaurants all over the country. We ordered the grilled platter with calamari, shrimp, and salmon, plus a fried combo that was light and perfectly done. Not greasy, just real home cooking, like your Egyptian grandmother made it. The branzino was outstanding, and the rice brought me straight back to childhood. Every dish tasted like it was made with genuine love and care, because it was. If you want to eat somewhere that feeds your soul as much as your stomach, come here. We'll be back every chance we get.

Cuisine: 8 Service: 7…read moreDecor: 6 Value: 7 Overall: 8 I'm updating this review because I had such an enjoyable meal last night at this long standing palace of seafood, and I wanted to share the experience to remind everyone why we all should continue supporting this wonderful establishment. Being honest, it's been a while since I have returned because I have favored Hamido Seafood lately, right after a previous love affair with Abuqir Seafood two doors down. Then there is the old reliable Astoria Seafood and the new kid on the block, Le Petite Pecheur, which I really enjoy as well. However, once again, Sabry's proves again that they have the best pitas in the business. A full basket comes with fluffy and chewy goodness that none of their competitors can match. I do wish their dips (babaganoush, humus, tahini) were better as I have mentioned, but they are all solid 7's. Onto the seafood. What an excellent version of Grilled Octopus (9/10), with maybe the best crispy char I have tasted in recent memory. I do wish the sauce had a touch of vinegar. Not a big deal. Another near perfect dish was their Grilled Sea Scallops (9/10). They were extra large, super tender, sitting in a pool of delicious tangy sauce (reminiscent of NoLa style BBQ shrimp sauce). The Grilled Shrimps (7/10) were slightly overcooked, while the Taojine Mixed (7/10) was somewhat watery and a bit too dill forward. Lastly, the broth of the Seafood Soup (7/10) was clean and light. The calamri and clams were still tender, but the shrimps were a tad overcooked once again. Clearly after this meal, I have to add Sabry's back into my rotation of pick your own seafood type of restaurants. This was the place where I had my first experience with Egyptian style seafood and it is still one of the best after all these years.

We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share and Mix Grill entrees for our party of 7. I would say it's a pretty simple and standard order. No deviations, substitutions, or anything out of the ordinary. Despite that, our drinks took ~20 minutes, the appetizers took 30+ minutes, and our entrees 30+ minutes after that. The Mint Lemonade was so small and tasted artificial. For ~$9, I expect more. The only appetizers worth trying are the Hummus Baba Ganouj, and Falafel. Everything else sadly missed the mark. The Fatoush & Tabouleh were promising but pretty sad. It lacked dressing (lemon and olive oil), flavor, and there were way too many unnecessary lettuce leaves on or around the bowl. I did enjoy the Zikrayat Mix Grill. The meats were tender, well-seasoned, and juicy, the rice was light and fragrant, and it was filling. I found the appetizers to be overpriced and along with the extremely slow service, I didn't leave feeling like it was worth it. I don't think I'll be back.

Not to mention that you get a lot of food! My friend and I started off with the hummus, which was accompanied with some pita. I have no complaints- it was delicious! I would love to try the red pepper one next time! My friend ordered the watermelon salad for lunch which looked absolutely delicious as you can see in the pictures- the perfect dish for a hot summer day. I ordered the mixed platter that came with a salad, rice, different kinds of meats. I loved that I got to try a variety- I honestly couldn't pick a favorite because I enjoyed all of it. My dish was so big that I even had leftovers for dinner and lunch the next day. If you're looking for somewhere to eat in Astoria I definitely recommend this restaurant! My only complaint is that it was hot inside the restaurant. Not sure if their HVAC wasn't working that day but the warmth was not pleasant on a summer hot day.

First off the place is so cute, it's a long narrow restaurant with a good amount of seating, and you can watch them make and bake the feteer fresh to order. The people are so nice there and the food was DELICIOUS I do recommend setting aside some time or calling ahead if you can since it can take around 20 minutes to assemble this delicious creation. Get the mixed meat one and you will not be disappointed. The melty, gooey cheese runs throughout the large hefty chunks of meat sandwiched within this rich, delicious bread that keeps it all together. I ate the whole thing myself in a day. Don't forget to throw on the hot and white sauce on it too!

It was #25 on The New York Times' 2026 list of the 100 Best Restaurants in New York City, and being Lebanese myself, I wanted to finally check it out. The service & hospitality is amazing; you can't beat Arab hospitality. As we were waiting for our food, one of the workers gave us a fresh Zaatar Manousheh. It was incredible! The zaatar was just as good as it is in Lebanon and the dough is fluffy, light, and super fresh. The Mix Grill was smaller than expected for ~$30. The meats were all tender, well-seasoned, and juicy. They have a few sauces to choose from and all were good. I would get the Levant sauce and white sauce again! If it was a sandwich, I would definitely get the garlic sauce again. There was so much rice and fries left compared to the amount of meat we got. It just felt like something was missing or it needed more protein. The Mixed Feteer was so satisfying! Everything here is freshly made and it's evident from the crispy feteer exterior to the cheese pull and steaming ingredients inside. The white sauce helps cut through some of the fat and the Levant sauce added a slight kick to it. Both were delicious! It's loaded with ingredients and easily shareable among 2-4 people. Although space is tight, I would recommend coming with friends or ordering to go so you can try more items since they have so many delicious options on the menu. There's so much I still want to try; I would absolutely come back!

We saw a few people seated, but was able to find a spot quickly. My friend and I decided to share a shawarma platter because we both weren't too hungry. Before we got our platter, we were treated with chips & dip. The chip itself was deep fried & oily, but tasted so crunchy & good. The dip was slightly on the spicy side, but nothing we both couldn't handle. Soon after, we got our MIXED SHAWARMA PLATTER. We opted for a cucumber/tomato salad & baba ganosh as our 2 sides. I would suggest these two options as the salad balances out the meat & the dip give a good neutral balance. Since they only give one pita for the dish, we had to split it in half for us to share. From the shawarma meats, to the salad, to the baba ganoush - everything was flavored so well! We were both nodding while eating it because it was so good. When you put everything into the pita and eat it, it's mixes well and I devoured my portion very quickly. I really did enjoy the food here.
