wow what a cool spot!! But had some hiccups…read more Atmosphere - 5/5 The inside of this place feels so authentic and old school. I love the design of the restaurant and felt like I was transported to another place and another time! Service - 3/5 Everyone here was extremely kind!! It's a family run place which is super cool and I got some good tips on what to order. My rating is low because - I don't know what happened - but my food took over 30 minutes to arrive and I didn't get any updates of what the issue was - the person next to me who ordered much later got food at the same time as me and we ordered something similar so it was pretty frustrating to me / I think maybe there was a mistake with my order? Idk seemed like a weird situation. Also I wasn't offered any tea which apparently came with what I ordered until the end of my meal, I love tea and wish I could've enjoyed it sooner! Food- 3/5 The food was good although i think too much / too big! I ordered the nigiri which I love - but the fish was wayyyyy too large for the rice. It's not a bad problem to have per se, but I think it made me trying to eat it very awkward. You can't just put the nigiri piece in your mouth, way to much fish for this. I was trying to cut it to the size of the rice with my chopsticks lol. I think it's better to have the correct ratio on this, even though more fish is awesome. Also, I had one piece of fish that kind of had a vein / something tough in it - so that was disappointing considering I got 5 pieces for ~45$ and I didn't really eat one of them for this reason. The miso soup was probably the best part lol- I am pretty particular and have had some amazing sushi , so am a bit harsh on this but mainly just think they should fix the sizing of the portions so you can eat it how you're supposed to. Overall: 3.5/5 I think I'd give this place another try. I wouldn't order the nigiri again, but I'd like to try some other items they offer. I think I had an unfortunate experience here, so willing to give it another go.

A very interesting experience. We visited restaurant twice…read morefor dinner, on Sunday and on Tuesday. After Sunday visit, I was ready to say that the experience was 7out of 5. After Tuesday visit, the rating remains on 5, but only because we had an amazing time on Sunday. Maybe on Tuesday there was a different chef, but food just didn't taste the same, and a few Sunday dishes we asked for on Tuesday (standard menu) were sold out. Both times I had rice lager specially brewed for the restaurant, and it was delicious. An absolute highlight on Sunday was the dish called Hand of God - the smoky wagyu on top of the rice cake was just an absolute perfection, not anything I had before (this dish was not available on Tuesday). We also had similarly smoky vegetable roll which was also experience in itself. This was my first time at the sushi restaurant where waiter suggested that the nigiri pieces are perfectly ready to eat, require no extra soy sauce or wasabi, and should be picked up by hand instead of chopsticks - another wonderful experience. I also had few different nigiri piece, two different types of mackerel and uni - an absolute wow (on Sunday). Service was good both days, but still a little bit better on Sunday (better recommendations). Definitely recommended.

Im sitting at a 3.65 so I'll round up. They have a garage attached and you can get it validated with the staff but it's kind of a complicated process for the amount of people coming per night for the restaurant. I would highly recommend making a reservation because every single table had a reserve sign on it. I got to try the gyozas, hamachi, shrimp tempura roll (not on happy hour menu), and various other rolls off the happy hour menu. My favorite was the gyozas and the hamachi. The gyozas had a nice sauce and it wasn't overly sweet. The hamachi tasted fresh and had good flavors. The rolls were not my favorite because they were very wet and not a lot of actual fish. My friend tried the fried fish dish and didn't enjoy it and he never complains about food. Service was odd too; they tried to act as if it was a bougie restaurant but the service didn't quite measure up. I felt a little rushed and our server wasn't really friendly. Interior is nice though.

Back in San Antonio and first stop, Tokyo Cowboy and dinner was served!…read moreAfter settling into our Airbnb, Tokyo Cowboy came up highly recommend. I'm glad they had room for us but, it's still safe to make reservations. We did not know they are a tapas style restaurant, but that didn't deter us. And we were pleasantly surprised at the size of their "tapas". What we ordered was enough for two people to share. Dumplings - 9/10 Gulf Shrimp & Noodles - 10/10 Blistered Green Beans - 10/10 Ramen - 9/10 Service was great. It's a casual atmosphere, but perfect for an intimate date night.

A bit messy to eat but I would get this again. Udon noodle with pork belly: noodles were kind of irregular in lengths. I really liked the sauce with it but it felt like it was missing something. Light dish. Tc double cheese burger: very strong flavors, somewhat sweet. Dense/heavy dish . Our waiter was quick and friendly. The restaurant lighting was dimmed and gave a more intimate /bar environment. I think the ac was broken here because it was very warm and they had fans going on around the room. I think this place would be good for someone who is prefers an American fusion cuisine that leans heavily on the western style dishes. The fusion elements were cute but I still left unsatisfied but still full. We did not park. We walked here right from the river walk. Not a bad place to go if you arrive in town after 9 pm.
