I enjoyed my first dining experience with Q Noodles. The restaurant was clean and open. I loved the water pitcher they gave us at the table. I ordered the pork soup dumplings and the vegetable spring rolls. Both were very good. I also ordered a Boba Milk Tea and while tasty, could have used more tea and less milk. But it was a solid win for me as dim sum and soup noodles are a favorite for me. I will be returning to try the other dishes. read more

We came on a Memorial Day because they were open (also because my friends were craving pho and our original pick was closed, so soup dumplings sounded like a good alternative). The menu has a pretty decent variety and also dim sum. Food came out as it was ready, so some items were kind of delayed. Some people finished their meal before others got their full order. Since this was my first time, I'm not sure if it's always like that... and honestly we weren't really bothered by it except for one dumpling order that came out by the time everyone was finished. I lean towards a more plant based diet and didn't feel there were many vegetarian options, although a few items did have a note saying they could be prepared vegetarian. I just wish there had been more vegetarian dumpling options. I ordered the veggie buns off the dim sum menu and they were okay, I don't think I'd order them again though. The scallion pancakes were also okay, they came out a bit more greasy than I like them to be. Overall though, I think my friends liked their dishes. Honestly, the highlight for me was our server! Definitely recommend giving this place to try! We got the pork chop noodle soup, shrimp and pork soup dumpling and pork soup dumpling. Soup dumplings: both were very good! The only problem that we experienced was that portions of the skin, or sometimes stuck to the metal portion of the dish which led to a preemptive tearing of the skin leading to some of the soup spilling. My wife and I came here and were pleasantly surprised to have found a new noodle place in Cary that we hope to frequent! I ordered the Sichuan Beef Noodle Soup with the "craft noodle" or traditional flour-based noodle. They have the option to order gluten-free rice noodles, but I personally prefer the regular noodles. The noodles were thinner but had very good texture (nice chewiness). The soup was on the spicy side (as advertised) but not overly spicy. The meat was flavorful and tender, and overall, the dish was enjoyable. The only thing I would have improved in the dish is that the bok choy was a bit undercooked, so the bok choy ended up being too crunchy and also had that bitter taste that gets neutralized after more cooking. It did come with pickled mustard greens, which I appreciated. My wife tried their Pork Soup Dumpling (xiao long bao) and Pan Fried Pork Bun. The soup dumplings were great - nice chewy texture of the skin with lots of soup and flavors on the inside. They came out piping hot with a side of vinegar. The Pan Fried Pork Bun was also good but didn't have the soup interior that some Pan Fried Pork Buns have. However, the bun was nice and soft with a crispy bottom, and the meat was well flavored. The service was very friendly and helpful, the restaurant was open, clean and bright, and the noodles were fabulous! If you like a medium spice like I do, ask for "regular." My Yibin Spicy Dry Noodles were perfect with regular spice. The price was reasonable, and there was so much, I took half of it home. My friend loved the peppercorn soup dumplings and liked the steamed chicken and mushroom dumplings. He was going to take half home, but wound up eating all of them. Recently tried out this place and had some mixed feelings about the food. The food tasted pretty good, but I felt like there were subtle things off about the food that made me confused at times. The soup dumplings were good, had a good amount of soup in them and were well packed together. Very hot though so be careful eating! The spicy noodle was good, I really enjoyed how the spice didn't overtake the flavor of the rest of the dish. Note about this dish, I had specifically requested it to be made mild and it still came out with enough spice to pack a punch so do be careful when ordering this dish. The minced pork rice is the part that left me a bit confused. The minced pork was really high quality, good cuts of meat with a balance of fatty chunks and leaner chunks. However, the portions on this dish were very small. There was hardly and minced pork and the flavor was a bit too sweet for my preference. I was hoping for something more substantial from a rice dish so if you do plan on ordering this one please make sure you order something else to accompany it, I don't think it will be enough food. read more

We we weren't not too long after their soft opening. It was during lunch time during the weekday. This place looks different from what it was when banana leaf was there. Completely remodeled! Very cute photo back drops! We ordered some noodles, soup dumplings and the pork chop rice dish! I had the scallion oil chicken noodle dish! It was good! And my daughter had the pork chop rice dish. As you can tell from the pictures, we hated the food so much that I forgot to take photos. :-) The crispy mushrooms weren't crispy at all, which was not a problem because they were absolutely delicious. They're actually the black fungus In vinegar and I wish I'd had a second order of them. The soup dumplings aren't bad. I believe they're frozen and reheated but the taste is okay. They're a little on the small side but there were no leakers. We had 3 different bowls of noodles. The star was the noodles with chickpeas and minced pork. The chickpeas were unexpected but really worked and the broth was very good. The chong quing noodles were a bit of a letdown. The broth was on the bland side and although I knew there would be no meat in the dish, some meat may have helped punch up the flavor. The egg that came in it was a very hard cooked scrambled egg patty. A soft yolk to stir into the broth might have been good. The flounder with rice noodles didn't elicit much comment beyond, "It was pleasant." Service was very fast and very polite even though I feel certain we got the "white boy" treatment. We were the only non-Asian customers at the time and that's normally a great indicator that a good meal is about to happen. I became concerned when the server asked how spicy we wanted our dishes. The menu clearly labels the heat level of each dish and we knew what we were ordering. When one person answered, "Spicy," he replied, "Oh, you want it mild." Um, no. We want it the way the menu describes it. The dishes listed as 2-pepper came out more like .5 or 1-pepper. And the fish had no pickled cabbage. Still, it was all pretty good. Noodle cooked properly, broth was tangy, and when it needed a bit more kick, there's chili oil, soy sauce, and Chinese black vinegar on the table to add to your liking. Tender braised beef sliced thin had a nice chew...a little gamey, but maybe that added to the experience? The soup did lack the bright tinge of cinnamon and anise that I'm used to in beef noodle soup. It also lacked any of the familiar numbing of Sichuan peppercorn. I should have been concerned when the server asked mild or spicy for soup. My daughter cannot handle very spicy do she got mild and wife and myself requested spicy. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Not a lot of people dining at 4:30 do service was very fast. After food arrived I told everyone to taste before adding any condiments. Remember, daughter had mild, she said it very spiced but was delicious ! I tried mine and after 2 spoonfuls my head almost blew its top, extremely spicy but delicious, lesson learned. The wife says hers was great not spicy, go figure, she's Korean, lol. I had never had fresh homemade dumplings like that before, very light and delicious. First thing I noticed was all the earthen ware dishes and cups - everything was very nicely done including the interior. We ordered the n5 spicy dry noodle with pork, the salty popcorn chicken, their cumin noodle special with chicken and an egg roll. The food was really good and you got a lot of it. Since we were headed to komana brewing next, we asked when the order would be ready for pick up. Instead, she offered to bring our order next door to us! I don't think I've ever ordered from a restaurant and they offered to deliver it to us (even if a few doors down). If we hadn't already planned to go to KōMANA Brewing we would have dined in. The inside has a calm atmosphere and the decorations are lovely. I love the color scheme and elegant furniture. The wontons were okay, but the star of the meal was the sesame pork dry noodles. The potato tower probably would have been really good, except it was obvious that they fried it in oil that hadn't been changed in a long time. It had almost a rancid oil flavor to it. As for the hot and spicy chicken, do not order this! If you value your tongue and lips, you want to stay as far away from this as possible! Seriously it should come with a warning. The first thing you'll notice is how cute and spacious this restaurant is! It has the typical cutesy Asian decor and several walls dedicated to being a cute backdrop for photos but also function as places to sit and wait. However we didn't have to wait at all, we visited on a Friday afternoon for lunch and were seated right away. The menu is a little confusing because you can tell the formatting got a little messed up during printing, so the photos are not necessarily lined up with the dishes which can be misleading. We ordered a few soup dumplings and some noodle dishes, the chong Qing noodles and beef noodle soup. I've never had Chong Qing noodles but just wanted to try something new. It doesn't have any meat so while it was very tasty it wasn't quite for me. My husband's beef noodle soup was fantastic though and packed with flavor. All the soups were spicy and a medium spice was more than enough for us. The soup dumplings were delicious all around, adequately hot and filled with a fair amount of soup! A new restaurant and we must try! I love the open space. It's bright and clean with lots of seating. The are known for soup dumplings but they only had 3 flavors. Pork, pork and shrimp, and something spicy. We got the pork and pork and shrimp. The pork and shrimp barely had any shrimp. But the flavor was good. You have to eat it hot. Once it cools down, it is not as good. Salt and pepper chicken was a bit on the dry side and some were big and not bite size. The fried potato was good. The cheese tasted very artificial. It reminded me of eating Cheetos. The pork chop rice had a weird taste to me. It was a bit bland. I did enjoy the ground pork and the veggies that came with it though. Once again, I feel this place is slightly overhyped. While there are really no other places to get soup dumplings in the area. These were just ok. I felt the soup dumplings were a bit lacking in flavor. We got the shrimp & pork soup dumplings. The popcorn chicken was good but we also got pork noodles and a spicy noodles. Both were just ok. The pork noodle soup was very sweet and I guess I was not expecting that. Overall, the service was a bit slow and we didn't really know what to do so that we could pay and leave so I went to the front where there is a register and just waited for about 5 min before being acknowledged.
