Feathers on the chicken I am so made I ordered this and when it was delivered this is what I paid for

Looking at the pictures on Facebook made me order but when it was delivered this is what I received I just can't believe that there is a restaurant that would feel comfortable enough to serve this nasty food!! Throw the whole restaurant away

I door dashed an order of turkey wings and rice, collard greens, and potato salad. They did not give me my potato salad, the rice and the turkey wings were both undercooked. One thing I can't stand is biting into a spoon full of rice and fill a hard grain. On top of that the food was bland!! No seasoning at all. I will NEVER order from here again. Mind u I ordered this food yesterday and still have the whole plate .. it's about to become dog food for my pits.

It saddens me to even write this. Since the twins sold the business this food has not been the same. The Q-Time special is baked chicken and that chicken was more than dry. The cabbage had no taste and the muffin was hard and unflavored. Service was still welcoming but this Is not what we know Q-Time to be. I hate to say I'll never go back. Prayers and well wishes to the twins and their family.

Arrived today at 3.30 pm march 2nd 2025..after someone suggested i give this establishment a review..the restaurant environment was friendly , staff was a much older group,.no teenagers...it being a Sunday, noticed a lot of elderly, and church people entering the restaurant..the decor was pleasant, restaurant was clean..i decided to try the Salisbury steak dinner combo, which came with 2 side dishes, for $14.00 dollars..i chose the mashed potatoes, and dressing...i also purchased a small side order of sweet potatoe suffle and , 'potato salad..my total without a drink was $22.00 dollars, .plus i left a .$3.00 dollar tip....while being served the dressing, i asked for some cranberry sauce, which was only about 1 foot reach from the gentleman preparing my order...he replied the cashier would give me the cranberry sauce..while paying for the food, i again asked for cranberry sauce, the cashier stated ok..i will give you some..left the restaurant, arrived at my residence..well..No cranberry sauce was in the bag...Food Taste....the dressing was good, however no cranberry sauce , was provided...the sweet potato suffle was not good, it was over saturated with cinnamon, not really sweet and definitely missing butter...the corn bread was ok..the mashed potatoes were definitely instant, but acceptable..the potatoe salad was good..the Salisbury steak was ok..the meat was a little bit on the dry side...Desert, the small sweet potato pie i purchased was nasty..it was bitter, not sweet, and the crust was dry...customers, informed me that the previous owners, 2 twins, recently sold the restaurant, and the food is not the same quality, as before..the price was fair, however the customer service and food quality needs,improvement....i will return and do updates on additional meal purchases..

The staff was very friendly. However, the line was at the door consistently, and my favorite thing was the tilapia fish cooked fresh to order and of course, as many people have said their prices are really good for the area. I also got one of the chicken specials for my son and wasn't as good as we hoped. Go back again and it's in an area where to meet there's not a lot of options for soul food.

Visited twice in one week. Really good food for the price. The employees are like cousins you haven't seen in a while: warm and inviting.

Stopped by this place from randomly passing it and not wanting fast food. What a pleasant surprise! I paid $7.50 for a chicken dinner with mashed potatoes, rice, or dressing, and two veggie sides with cornbread! You just don't see that much anymore. Not to mention the food was delicious. With the amazing price and delicious food, my favorite part of the experience was the very warm interaction I had with the staff. Every single person was nice and smiled and made me feel welcome. They just picked up a regular when I'm in this area.

We arrived around 4:45 and there was already a few people waiting as the doors didn't open until 5 for dinner. After a few minutes, a nice white haired gentleman open the door and welcomed us in. It was then that I knew this was going to be a treat! Upon entering, you're immediately greeted by a smiling hostess, the warmth of the hardwood floors, soft lighting and white tablecloths. We were sat near the window street side which was perfect. Our waitress was prompt, friendly and attentive. The menu is perfectly curated with southern comfort meals with a twist. The cocktail menu is stellar! I could write on and on but I'll let the pictures do the talking. From the service to the last bite and sip of cocktail..South City Kitchen was amazing!

For dinner everyone raved about the fried Chicken and collards. One of my friends said it was in the top three fried chicken dishes he'd ever had. I ordered the pork chop Which was really good. The peach and the pork were a great combination, Overall well worth visiting. Make a reservation though. :-)

There's so much history wrapped into the restaurant that eating here feels like participating in a little piece of the city's story, and I really appreciated that sense of tradition. The fried chicken and sweet tea were absolutely iconic. The chicken had that unmistakable Southern comfort-food quality that makes you understand why recipes like this are guarded so closely. The sweet tea was exactly what Southern sweet tea is supposed to be: unapologetically sweet, refreshing, and basically a cultural institution in a glass. Paired with the fried chicken, it felt like the quintessential Atlanta meal. What made the experience even more meaningful to me, though, was learning about the history behind the Southern "tea room" tradition itself. Historically, tea rooms were among the important public spaces where women could gather independently outside the home, socialize, exchange ideas, and engage with the changing cultural and political conversations of their communities. There's something powerful about realizing that what sounds like such a simple concept--a "tea room"--is connected to a much larger history of women carving out public and social spaces for themselves.

Not life-changing, but definitely good. I had the turkey with gravy, cornbread dressing, green beans, and mashed potatoes. Everything was plated beautifully and had that comforting, home-cooked feel. The seasoning leaned a little salty for my taste, but the food was still very well prepared and enjoyable. My husband had the country fried chicken, and that was a standout. It was perfectly breaded and crunchy on the outside while staying juicy and moist inside. His mac and cheese was rich and decadent, and the collard greens were an absolute must-have. Truly amazing. We also tried the skillet-style cornbread, which was good, and the yeast rolls, which were fluffy, warm, and delicious. We finished our meal with the bread pudding that had apples, peaches and blueberry compost in top it was only missing ice cream. Overall, it was a lovely experience with comforting Southern food and several dishes we would happily order again. Our waitress was attentive and made great recommendations for our food which came out at a steady pace. The music was at a tolerable level that we could still hear each other but still with some great 80s and 90s rnb hits. The seating is tolerable, not fine dining but expected for the age of the establishment. We parked in the back which was free when we came for lunch on a Friday. If you are coming to Atlanta you must visit Mary Mac's I waited far too long to come here.

After seeing recent reviews online for the newer place, A1 Soul Food I decided to give it a try when I was in the area during lunch time. The area is a bit sketchy. It shares a lot with an vacant Dollar Tree & a few other businesses. Lock your car & be aware of your surroundings because you never know what you may see. That is honestly the way to be anywhere on MLK drive. When you get inside, the place is set up cafeteria line style with booths for dining in if you choose too. The prices are listed on the wall and they serve breakfast and lunch/dinner food with the prices listed clearly on the wall and daily specials also. You order by standing in line & they place your food into a styrofoam box & you can eat it there or take it home. I opted to take mine to go. I waited in line for about ten minutes which I hear is good for this place. I honestly did not know what I was going to order until I saw the fresh fried pork chops come out (please see my picture). Not only did they look fresh, but they were big, crispy & well seasoned. The meat only option included two and the price was more than right. I will be back for those again the next time I am in the mood for some soul food.
