The location of the restaurant is not in the best part of town, however the food is great! It is a cafeteria style restaurant. With the dinners you can get a meat and two sides. I chose the BBQ chicken wings with mac and cheese and black eyes peas. The mac and cheese was good but not amazing, however the black eyed peas and BBQ chicken wings were perfect! My friend chose the veggie plate which consisted of four sides (black eyes peas, collard greens, green beans and mac and cheese). The collard greens and greens beans were alright but not great. The green beans tasted as if they were out of the can. A few unnecessary comments were made to my friend from one of the employees which is the main reason I have rated this restaurant four stars instead of five. My coworker treated me to Q-Time for lunch last week. This was my first time here so I decided to sample some of their different sides by opting for the vegetable plate. I ordered the mac & cheese, dressing, cabbage, and yams, accompanied with a complimentary cornbread muffin. All of the food was good. The yams were a little dry and too sweet, but I am pretty sure yams are not in season right now, which may have been the reason for this. This is a no-frills, cafeteria-style restaurant. I knew that they closed at 8 pm which made me Leary but when I arrived I was pleasantly surprised to find out that although they would be closing soon... they still had fresh food... chicken straight out the fryer... pork chops straight out the fryer... fresh pan of Mac... fresh pan of dressing and everyone was pleasant... sometimes it can be hard to get good service at black establishments... especially at closing time... it made me happy to know that although I was one of the last guests of the evening... Originally, upon my arrival, the parking lot was full and being unaware of what to do given the situation, I left. However, as I turned left out of the parking lot, I found additional (unmarked) parking adjacent to the building. Once I arrived at the front door of the establishment, I received a warm and comforting greeting. Since this is a cafeteria style restaurant, I grabbed a tray and placed my order: 2 Piece Pork Chop, Green Beans, Macaroni and Cheese, Cornbread and a Medium Lemonade. The total came out to be $13.47. Here's how everything tasted: Pork Chops: The flavor was okay. They were cautiously seasoned. The gravy that covered them was incredibly thick and chunky which made it hard to find the actual meat on the chop. Green Beans: They were very good- very well seasoned! Macaroni: I didn't enjoy the mac and cheese. It was a bit cold and whatever kind of cheese they use is nasty. Cornbread: It was okay. Lemonade: DELICIOUS!!! Would I go back? Not a bad place to get a quick bite to eat if you're in the West End. It is definitely a hole in the wall but has been there for decades in a strip mall next to the nail shop. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Cash and credit cards are accepted. You can sit down and eat cafeteria style. They're generally busy because it's homemade food or as close to homemade as you can get. I ordered wings and grits. One of the cooks pulled out some macaroni and cheese that she had just made but I'd already made my decision on the chicken and cheese grits. My order was to go so didn't eat it right away. The meal was ok. I probably should've gotten the macaroni and cheese as the cheese grits didn't taste nearly as good as I thought they would be. They were bland so added a lot of black pepper and very little salt as I mixed the chicken into to the grits to add flavor. The chicken had very light seasoning and was fried to nice brown color. I put a small puppy's weight (like a chihuahua puppy) worth of hot sauce on the chicken because I like my chicken spicy. I still felt like my meal was missing something. Quite the variety, but still has the typical staples like fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and greens. I have been eating here for since 1998. Came to the A for school and when I needed a home cooked meal...you were my spot! My husband has been in love from the very first taste. The Salisbury steak is one of his favorites. I love the baked chicken...still don't know what's done to keep it so moist. Although, I have been know to get a vegetable plate with a corn muffin. The sides are wonderful. The peach cobbler is unique and sweet and crusty like I like it. I love the consistency of several of the dishes but I do like the new addictions to the menu as well. The bathroom is dated and could stand to be upgraded as could some of the furniture in the dining area. However, none of this stops me from coming to get Sunday dinner on Tuesday!! I happened to be right behind someone who frequents the spot on a weekly basis so she served as my guide. I was led in the direction of ordering the baked chicken, cabbage and macaroni. I also ordered a side of BBQ ribs because I was already partially committed in my head to getting them. Let's just say there was no disappointment that occurred. Parking is TIGHT, if there's any at all. That's the only downfall. You're greeted as soon as you walk in. The workers are so personal it's like you're old friends. I heard a lot about Q-time being new to Atlanta. The parking is very tight. The people their are very friendly. I ordered Salisbury streak with Mac/ cheese and string beans. Dessert- peach cobbler. The Salisbury steak with stuffing was excellent. The Mac/ cheese was horrible- dried out with no flavor. The string beans were over cooked but had good flavoring. The cornbread was dry. The peach cobbler- still trying to figure it out. The waiter crack two crackers in the bottom - spooned in watery peaches and sauce and two crackers on top/ too damn sweet. I will probably go back to give it one more try, we all have bad days. The price is fair for meal. The restaurant is very clean and maintained. I was trying to find a reason to rate this place higher than a 3 star but can't. Staff and Salisbury steak pushed it to a 3 star, otherwise I would have given the place a 1.5/2 read more

Every time I'm in South Atlanta I come here. You can find it located in a small shopping center. The parking can be a little crazy, but that's the only minor problem I've had. It definitely fixes my soul food cravings I get every now and then. I wish there was a location in North Atlanta where real soul food is nonexistent. I ordered the baked chicken, which comes with dressing automatically. The skin is seasoned well and the chicken is moist. My sides were mac and cheese and collards. Everything seasoned perfectly. Can I just say I absolutely loved this place. Everyone was so kind from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. The employees were so welcoming. And the food was amazing. When I told my friend that I wanted to eat Southern food for lunch, she took me to Q Time which is one of her favorite stand-bys and also close to where she lives. She mentioned that it's "not one of those places where you want to eat in", and she's right. There's nothing particularly bad with the restaurant, but it's definitely very cafeteria style, so you won't be taking in any wonderful surroundings at the restaurant. The food is set-up on a hot food counter (similar to what you find at a lot of fast Chinese food restaurants), and they had all of the yummy foods that I can only eat on special occasions (like Saturdays). Each meal comes with two sides and dressing. Strangely, the fried chicken isn't on the menu, but it was out on the table (the fried chicken meal is the same price as the roasted chicken). Of course, I got the fried chicken (thigh), black-eyed peas, macaroni and cheese and dressing (with gravy). To top things off, I also got peach cobbler. My friend thinks the mac and cheese is "okay" because it's not as good as her mom's, but since I haven't had her mom's mac and cheese, this mac and cheese is DARN GOOD. I have only ever had black-eyed peas once in my life, and I was wary of ordering them (because that one time I had eaten them, they weren't good), but they were SO GOOD at Q Time. Everything was so delicious, but I think I would put the fried chicken and mac and cheese at the top of my list. And the price was right - only $8 for my entire meal. read more

Glad I found this place. One of the best dinner values anywhere. Been to a batch of similar soul food/cafeteria restaurants but this is the standout. Sides - dressing, green beans, cornbread and casserole were comfort food. Chicken was done just right. All were large portions and satisfying. I wanted to try the cobbler but no way, I was full. Cafeteria style is just right for this joint. Recommend the takeout if you are heading back to Atlanta from the airport. Baked chicken so much better than takeout cooked chicken at the grocery store. I went here for Easter to pick up a Sunday dinner. I got the baked chicken, mac & cheese, yams, & dressing. Chicken was AMAZING. It was seasoned well. Mac & cheese was decent. Dressing was ok & yams were ok. I went later during the evening so I knew that it was a possibility that there wasn't going to be a lot of food leftover. While I asked an employee if they had some more yams because they had little chunks in the pan I got an angry reply saying "aint nothing wrong with them they fine". Ugh so RUDE. So I got them anyway because I was craving yams. I also got some peach cobbler for dessert. It was nasty. The peaches were burnt and the breading that was used were crushed like graham crackers. wtf Customer service was bad. While I was standing their waiting to place my order the employees were having a pow-wow standing around talking. Hello do you not see me here? The lady who does the deserts was also rude. Holding a conversation while she was scooping my peach cobbler in the container. The guy who checks people out was friendly. You eat peach cobbler in bowl. You do not suck it through a straw.
