As much as I wanted to like this place because of how cute the inside is. I dont. We ordered our drinks online as you can "skip the line" at 1033 and for some reason it says coffee will be ready at 1034, impossible. We received our drink at 1051. Multiple people ordered up at the register and received their orders before ours. Literally latte, almond milk, syrup-- there's supposedly a glitch on the mobile orders because theres a option that you can order "sweet cold foam" even with hot drinks. We can hear a barista saying "i dont know why people order that for hot drinks, people keep clicking it and clicking it, it's ridiculous!" not sure if that was word for word but if customers can hear you, thats pretty loud. We even asked (when we asked about our order) "so no cold foam right?" He said "no most we can do is whip cream, i dont know why the app does that". Just educate your customers instead :) whip not cold foam. We were literally in store while ordering. LOL where's your manners, use your inside voice if you want to talk crap about your customers. You literally made us feel dumb. Your customers help you thrive in business, did you forget? We like the idea of putting your own syrups but thats pretty much it. I will rate this place ZERO stars! I bought 3 boba drinks, 2 pastries, and 2 sandwiches for almost $60, but everything was tasteless; they just put water and boba in our drinks! The service was bad, like there was no welcoming atmosphere, just very rude workers, as if they hated working there. I WASTED MY TIME BUYING DRINKS & FOOD HERE. First visit, VERY DISSAPOINTED! The coffee (Americano) is reasonably priced. The order taker was friendly and greeted me as I walked in which gave me a welcoming vibe. The barista silently placed my Americano in front of me. My Americano was very hot which is how I prefer my coffee. The interior space is contemporary and modern. Nice new coffee shop which has a spacious and bright seating area. I got a delicious hot rose oat milk latte. The coffee is smooth and balanced. I also appreciated that they had vegan options (burrito, croissant, and peanut butter cookie). I ordered a vegan croissant toasted and it was really tasty. I love Lavazza coffee so this was a no brainer. Unless you are a local, finding a parking spot might be difficult depending on the day and time since it is metered street parking, but just keep driving around the block until you find something. The place has good views to the street and comfy seating througout. They have a varied selection of drinks and pastries here. I got a apricot marmalade croissant warmed up and got that called out first. I ordered two drinks at the same time but had to wait 5 minutes in between the café lattes i ordered. One of the lattes I ordered was a hazelnut latte and it was not hot enough when given to me so I took it back and asked if they could make me a new one. Instead of remaking a new drink, they resteamed the milk on the original drink so hot I couldn't drink it for another 10 minutes. I burned my tongue on the drink because it was overheated so much. No matter what at this point the drink will be inferior due to the resteaming. This is a big no no but i already am missing out drinking together with the person i came with, so i didnt want to take it back nor wait any longer. Cool barista uniforms adds to the ambiance but even cooler if the baristas know what they are doing and make the coffee drinks right. I wanted to enjoy this place and there is a lot of good things about it, but obviously the main thing is the coffee and I wasnt happy with my experience. Please train your staff better in the art of coffee making, especially if you're going to represent Lavazza. read more

TLDR: Ask for Ashley!! Get the iced caramel latte!! And enjoy the ambiance! I walk in and am immediately greeted by all the employees. The menu is vast and contains breakfast scones, croissants, sandwiches as well as several unique drink combinations. I tried the iced caramel latte and they serve it for aesthetics and require you to mix it. Totally love the idea. The ambiance is very chill and has plenty of seating. Definitely a good spot for studying too. All the staff is so nice and helpful, I will be coming back very often! read more

I keep giving this place a chance since it's located in my building, but this will be it. I am told they are out of at least half my order every time. Mostly it's milks , syrups, choices of tea, or bagels/pastries. Sometimes it's lids for cups, which makes driving impossible. Since Yelp is a place that people always check for the reviews and feedback on restaurants and places to go, here goes mine; to start I'm totally disappointed, Lavazza is such a good brand of coffee, but this place managed to ruin it, the coffee tasted so bad, just like the energy, strange for a bright day, the employees are very unprofessional, I heard them talk about how bad their manager is, and how they are cutting their hours, not news to me, because this place is always empty, all my friends asked me if I tried their coffee, I always let them talk first about their experience, and is always the same, "they don't know what they are doing", for this reason I started to questioning the other "5 stars reviews". I truly wish to be writing a better one, I love to support my local business, but I'll continue to walk to Vons in the morning for their not so great Starbucks. Just one more thing, my coffee took so long to be made (without a line of people) and their conversation about internal issues, made so upset that I was late for work. Attended the grand opening and it was so much fun! The coffee shop itself is such a vibe. I can see myself working from here and enjoying the beautiful view of Ocean blvd. Everything is so bright and the place is clean and inviting. There's indoor and outdoor seating. The iced latte was really good and not too sweet. I stood in line at the register with 4 other guests behind me while the 2 employees just talked and didn't help any of us. When I ordered and asked a question about a drink, the employee couldn't give me any description of the drink and didn't know what was in it. I ordered it anyway and was about to pay when she told me that didn't have any boba (I ordered a bubble tea drink). I was really disappointed and didn't order anything and walked out. This is my favorite brand of espresso so naturally I love all their lattes. The last time I was there I got a latte with toasted marshmallow flavor and it was very good. The food is surprisingly good here! The breakfast sandwich is super tasty and a decent size too! Lots of outdoor seating which is always a huge plus for me, a good amount of comfy indoor seating as well. Very friendly service. I think the only downside is it just has a "chain" vibe to it and because it's downtown the parking isn't the greatest, but that's just me being super picky and critical. I jog past this place every morning and always wanted to try it. It looks inviting and friendly but sadly I did not have this experience. The cashier was not friendly or inviting to me or my husband. He wanted a banana boba drink and all was said was "no boba." No other suggestions or no other options. My husband asked can he just do a banana drink? He sighed, walked away, looked, and said they're all out. The rest of the interaction was filled with no eye contact and sighs. I'm not sure if it was due to us not fitting their business casual aesthetic, to the fact a homeless man asked us for a coffee and we said yes, or just because of us. But it was an even bigger blow when the man behind us was smiled to, looked at, and interacted with. After all this we were given the wrong order. I have visited twice now. The lattes are good. The Belgian waffles are amazing when heated. (They are the European style waffles that have sugar pearls, and are to be eaten by hand as you would a cookie). The first time I ordered one it was perfect. The second time I ordered two and both were unevenly heated and therefore less so. They really need to be very warm for this style waffle to get the sugar warm. (Probably both were thrown in at once at the same time and therefore both got only warm in patches.). The place is quiet and the decor is cool. I really liked the wood wall--pretty much the whole design vibe. It would be a great place to hang out for a bit--except the lit and animated menu screens are distracting and doesn't fit the vibe at all. They probably were pricey, but they make the whole place feel cheap. The menu screens would be better off in an airport coffee place or truck stop. The moving and dancing drinks would catch my eye and distract me from my companion. I moved to the other side of the wall and all was well again. read more

Bruhhh I wanted to like this place so bad as the aesthetic is a 10/10 as far as cool coffee shops go but this place was just not it at all! I asked for something sweet and I got a one of the worst cold brews I ever had in my life! Granted I asked nicely and the barista remade me another iced drink salted caramel and caramel drizzle as well as I ordered a chai latte that was decent and a breakfast sandwhich that was good only if your starving and also feel like throwing your cash away. The place was pricey which I expect for great coffee , Starbucks etc but this place does not know what a good coffee should taste like . Management and owners seem extremely unprofessional from how I saw them treating the staff. I have never seen more than two employees maximum working at once when I come in. Service is great (the stars are for them) - staff super friendly and welcoming! I live in the apartment next to this place and unfortunately I am not coming back here. I went here twice - first time I just got a vanilla latte and with less ice but it still tasted watered down. Today, I got a ciabatta sandwich from the "grab and go" section (even had a label - made fresh, and it was practically inedible. For $12 it was HIGHLY overpriced for a super stale sandwich. The meat tasted super fake but what really got to me was the bread... if was hard to even swallow. I did not ask for my receipt but if I had it I would've kindly asked for a refund. Buying that sandwich felt like a slap to a customer's face. Super disappointed. Hoping this place can take necessary measures to make sure food like that is not served. read more
