on my quest to try local long beach coffee places, i had stumbled across steelhead coffee with my…read morefriend after seeing that they had some unique flavor combos. the shop itself looked like a nice and chill coffee spot, and there were a good amount of chairs and tables to chill at. the workers were both super sweet and chatting with the customers, and overall the vibes of the coffee shop seemed very nice and friendly! i ordered the honey latte with earl grey cold foam, and i really liked the cold foam !! it had a nice earl grey flavor without being too sweet. i feel like my coffee was a bit on the acidic side, but it still had good flavor and paired nicely with the earl grey cold foam.

Although the line may look long, it moves quickly! The team is efficient and keeps things flowing, and the coffee consistently hits the spot. One time, I tipped them via the drive through and it seemed they were not expecting it which made me sad because they deserve it, they work hard in the shop. This is definitely a reliable stop when I'm craving a good cup without having to leave my car.

Milk with a taste of matcha. It was NOT my horchata matcha that I always get. I was extremely saddened by this. I threw away the drink. I'm going to stick to my pch girl from now on. If I was pregnant I would be throwing the biggest fit. I still did, but imagine. Ugh my craving was not satisfied. If you want to sit inside good luck, that parking lot has like 4 spots and I'm sure the employees use them. Otherwise street parking will be your only option. Had it not been for this (and their delicious pastries), I'd give Cyclops a 3 - 4 stars because I have a real bone to pick with paying for a larger Americano and getting the same number of shots regardless. I got a croissant and they warmed it up for me. It was flaky and good, but wow was it buttery! My fingers were covered in grease and i got it all over my laptop. Oops. I wish they had a bigger selection of pastries. I got there at around 11 and their case was pretty bare. Usually my go-to stop in Long Beach for coffee because it's super convenient to get to, but parking can be tough!

I watched every single car that was already in line when I arrived get their order and drive away before I even got mine. Also, in-person walk-ins should be faster, or at the very least, orders should be made in the order they are received. It is completely unfair to hold up someone standing right in front of you just to clear out the drive-thru. Extremely disappointing experience

Gone are the traditional teas and sesame jelly that made Hechalou so famous. These options are replaced by cheap imitations of Starbucks' frothy drinks that sound good on paper but taste like iced piss with sugar. The drinks are excessively sweet, a mortal sin by Asian standard, and they have a generic taste that might as well have one item on the entire menu. Alas, to get a sip of the old favorites, now I have to drive across town instead of stop by after work. I am glad that I got my many trips here before the old guards died, and it's probably better for my hemoglobin A1c in the long run.

They don't drown you and loud music. Everything is very quiet and peaceful. It's also very close to the beach so you can take a drink and bite to go and eat it as you watch the ocean waves roll in!! It has the perfect balance of coffee flavor and sweetness without being overly sweet, which is exactly how I like my coffee. The coffee shop itself is super cute and nicely decorated, making it such a nice little spot to stop by. I've also tried their banana bread, and it was so soft, rich, and full of flavor. Definitely one of those places I keep coming back to and continue to recommend!

We ordered the Monster Latte and the passion fruit milk tea with golden boba, and both drinks were delicious. The Monster Latte was refreshing for a hot day, and the passion fruit milk tea had a nice balance of sweetness and tea flavor. The golden boba also had a great texture. What can I say--just really solid boba when you need a cold drink to cool down.
