Tonight around 10:45 pm at QFC Issaquah, I had a very upsetting experience. When I first arrived with my service dog, an employee looked straight at me. I waited outside until my dog finished going potty, then walked back to the door. The doors opened just a few inches and then stopped -- almost like someone watching the camera was trying to block me and my dog from entering. Only when another customer walked out did the doors fully open. Once I was inside, that same employee (a white man, around 50s) came right up to me and accused my dog of peeing inside, which she absolutely did not. He then told me, "Don't let me see you and your dog in here again." I showed him my service animal card and explained that my dog is a service animal. I told him not to discriminate against us. I've been to this QFC many times with my service dog and never had a problem until tonight. I left feeling shocked, embarrassed, and disrespected. No one with a service animal should be treated this way. read more

The three stars is mostly for the convenience factor, but also for the pharmacy, which I would give 4+ stars to, as they often do a stellar job there. Unfortunately the shelves, and most notably the meat/chicken dept. and the produce dept., have been seriously under-stocked, or out of stock on many items. Yesterday there were no regular onions to be had other than organic, kind of forcing you to pay more money. On many other occasions I wanted to purchase items that were on sale, or that I had a coupon for, and those also were out of stock. To me, there does seem to be a certain amount of "bait and switch" going on in this store - luring you in with specials only to find an empty shelf. I've contacted corporate HQ via their website and have spoken to several managers at the store. While I'm sometimes provided with lip service, nothing really seems to change. This is all a rather unfortunate state of affairs. I pay a premium to shop at this QFC market, as their prices are higher than Fred Meyer, but more and more I'm feeling like I need to change my market. Also rather annoying is that on a few occasions I've been to the QFC store in Bellevue, near the mall, and that store is worlds away from the one here in Issaquah. They carry much nicer meat and produce, and the shelves are always well stocked. Shop here with caution - it's just not what it used to be, and apparently no one in charge seems to give a hoot. read more

Do not shop here if you are disabled! On 4 separate occasions in the last 3 months I have tried to shop here. I am disabled, so I absolutely need a motorized cart, or I cannot shop. They have two carts, but all 4 times, I began to use one and 2 minutes after I got in, the cart ran out of juice as did the 2nd cart, so I had to leave the store without being able to shop. I will never try again at this location. Plus a couple employees seemed very rude when I asked about the carts. There is one employee here (I wish I knew his name) who is amazing. (I'm sure there are other equally amazing people who work here, i just haven't had any encounters with them because I usually run in and out and use self checkout, so my human interaction is limited.) I've always run into this guy in the same place: the product department. He is so knowledgeable of the department and I feel like he has a strong sense of pride in working there (which is AWESOME, cuz customers like me benefit from that). One day I was grabbing some premade salad packs one day and he asked if I would be eating them soon. I said yes and he showed me that there were several discounted packs that were short dated. They had the same type I had in hand so I ended up swapping the bags and saving a few bucks, thanks to his suggestion. A few days later, I was hunting for fried jalapeños to use as a topping and was having difficulty finding them (and wasn't even sure if they were available in the store). He saw my look of confusion and was able to find them for me right away. Great job hiring an amazing employee, QFC! read more

This QFC has a decent sized parking lot but it's usually packed full of cars when I come by. QFC is one of the most expensive grocery stores in Seattle, so I don't try to shop here. Usually it's only because I'm trying to get in and out quickly. I recently stopped in here between business meetings to buy some flowers and a greeting card for someone at work. In my haste, I couldn't find the greeting cards so I asked an employee who was working in the floral department where I could find them. She said what three times so I kept getting louder and speaking more pronounced so she could understand me, then she told me she was hard of hearing and I didn't need to be so loud. The MOST RUDE pharmacy employees (minus 10 stars if I could) of any store I have ever visited -- they refuse to acknowledge your existence unless you stand there staring at them for at least 10 minutes (while they hide their faces and avoid eye contact). If they do finally talk to you (90% of the time I just walk away, which I'm sure is what they are trying to make everyone do), it's always a huge bother to turn around and see if they have a box of Sudafed or some other thing you can't get off another shelf. I usually drive a few miles to Bartell's rather than deal with these *!@&% people. The rest of the store is great (well over 5 stars, but -1 for the pharmacy). They'll work to stock new products for you and there are always lots of smiling faces and good attitudes. At night when the regular registers are closed (self-checkout only) if you have a packed cart they will almost always open a regular lane for you. [Just a hint to other reviewers, Instacart has nothing to do with this or any other store. It's a shame the people who sign up to earn money with these delivery services make the businesses they are leveraging for their own profit look bad.] read more

I had no idea taking kids grocery shopping could be this great, but we have a QFC that hires the absolute best people. Let me tell you about shopping there today: In the produce section, the kids were each handed perfect bananas by Staszek to enjoy while we shopped. (If you haven't met him, he's possibly the cheeriest man on the planet.) Then the girls watched me get a flu shot from the best pharmacy staff (and again, nicest people) ever. Anna always makes a point to ask the kids how their day is going and acknowledge every piece of minutiae my 5yo volunteers. Working our way around the store, we picked out a birthday balloon for Madison. While we were in the baby aisle, the sweet lady in floral (I missed her name!) came up to us and offered to fill the balloon up for us and brought it back with a smile. She tapped it and said, "you should always be able to bounce a quarter off these!" and went on her way. And then, with no one in line behind us, a wonderful person named Judy got down on the kids' level, spoke to each one of them looking them in the eye, and patiently let them to scan a few groceries. I don't go out of my way to learn names (I'm horrible at it, so sorry if I've called you 'champ' after we've met), but this collection of people is happy and wonderful and you can't help but get the feels shopping here. Instacart delivery service has ruined reputation and service from this and other area QFC stores! If you shop in store, you know what you can buy here but those same things are not available through their delivery service. The delivery service is slow, they don't shop your local store and sometimes don't even shop at QFC at all. Poor customer service and delayed and incorrect refunds are just a few of the issues. Expired and damaged goods and no one stands behind this "service". The stores won't help you and Instacart won't help you. QFC stores need to dissolve this partnership before it's too late. read more

This review is for the QFC floral manager, Ezelise. She made the bridal party bouquets, boutonnieres, alter display and centerpieces for my wedding. I originally was working with the florist at the QFC in Newcastle but she got transferred to another store so she recommended Ezelise. Ezelise was amazing to work with and so professional. Super responsive via email which is great for a busy bride during the planning process. She met with me for one session before the wedding, then got me a quote within 1 week. Her quote was more than half off of what a small business florist had quoted me so great deal. My flowers turned out amazing the day of the event! I would highly recommend Ezelise! FYI this is not the case with all QFC floral departments as some floral managers are more experienced with weddings than others and the price quotes are different as well. Some QFC locations also charge a consultation fee while mine didn't which is odd since I thought QFC should be standard in pricing across. read more

Two checkout lanes open with two carts waiting in each. Our cashier was complaining to the customer ahead of us about it being so busy and she was supposed to go to lunch at 6:30. It was 6:25. She let us stand in line behind them the whole time she rang up and bagged their order. They left and she came out in front of us, said "I'm gonna have to cut you off. You'll have to go in the other line", slapped a closed sign on her lane, and switched her light off. I said "that's pretty rude customer service isn't it?" She ignored me and walked away. I was a retail grocery service manager for 13 years. I can't imagine any of our associates ever doing that to a customer. The cashier in the next lane was a young guy who never looked up or said a word. He bagged our order with cold things all mixed in with non cold, and balanced a six pack of ginger ale on top of a chicken in another bag. Y'all have some training opportunities in your front end. It is with great sadness that I write this because QFC has been my favorite store for a long time. One of the highlights has been a consistently good seafood counter that was better than most of the supermarkets around here. Over the course of the year the fish has not been as fresh as before, more like Safeway. In addition they used to have Columbia River farmed steelhead which was always good and a great off season purchase. Last time I went they had it but it didn't look very fresh and had a sign that it came from Chile??? Seriously, not only is that a long way away but Chile is notorious for unhealthy fish farming practices. Couple of weeks back they had local farmed raised Coho which were very good, now it's Atlantic Salmon, again not noted for the best farming practices. Seems like QFC is racing to the bottom here. If I wanted the cheap, less healthy fish I can go to the other stores. Now it's going to be Gemini Fish. To top it off, I ordered a Dungeness crab last week. The counter people always asked if I wanted it cleaned. Not this time. When I requested it the guy gave me a disgusted look like how dare I ask that (and he did a poor job at that). Alright I get it, this is not a fun thing to do and they are short of staff. I will be glad to do it myself but it's just an indication that things have changed. Easy as Sara Lee pie, we got the case discount, and it arrived in just a few days. She's always got a perfect recommendation for any wine occasion (and ALL occasions are wine occasions, of course) and for any palate. My mother of 90+ years has shopped with QFC for years. She still has her prescriptions filled here but she no longer can pick them up. So the family has to grab them for her. The pharmacy staff has always been so very helpful and accommodating. I would say "above and beyond'- actually remembering her and our family connection. This last visit Kelsey, went beyond her duties. She could've just rung us up and sent us on our way. But she made sure my mom didn't over pay for a new expensive medication. I have always asked mom why she hasn't moved her prescriptions to a drive through location and now I understand why. The folks at the pharmacy in Issaquah treat us like family. I understand I am a WIC customer, Ive been here twice and there was no lactose milk, this morning i made it a point to stay up after work to come in early because im out of milk for my toddler i said I guess I wont come here you guys never have milk instead of trying to be nice about the cashiers response is " its not our fault we dont have it stocked and people grab it before you , go somwhere else " , it is your fault and maybe if you still live your life where you feel the need to belittle the type of customer you have you shouldnt be in customer service. I was at this location today...and I normally go this location in Issaquah all the time, but today, they totally messed up. I was only given a portion of my groceries in my bags...and god knows where the rest of the groceries ended up. The bagger guy got totally distracted and I didn't notice that he hadn't put the paid groceries into my cart. I drove home hoping to get this one recipe crushed before heading off the gym later on in the afternoon. I live 1/2 hour away. When I unbagged my groceries, I realized that most of them were missing. When I called to find out where those groceries were, they couldn't find them anywhere. Now, I have to go back and redo the portion of the grocery list that was missing. I'm so upset that the bagger and cashier weren't on the ball enough to make it happen the first time around...now I have to waste more time to drive back. Ack! Overall: A very well stocked store open 24 hours - highly convenient Everyone has had them - midnight munchies, cravings or forgetting a very essential item for dinner etc... Well our thing was on the 23rd December 2006, the oversea movers have just moved everything in. They told us that all our items, which were packed in a sea-container had been fumigated at customs. So, we ended up doing an endless number of dishwasher cycles as well as clothes/linen wash cycles... no, we didn't run out of detergent. Everything in the house still stank nitrogenous (ie of nitrates or something similar), like the smell you get when you walk through the garden center near the fertilizers etc. The worst item was our TEMPUR mattress, man that really stank! It reeked up to high heaven and then back! We really had to do something as the smell was unbearable. EVEN AFTER a long and tiring day watching the movers move and unpack our stuff, there was no way I was going to sleep on that mattress in that current state. It was then that we visited QFC around 22:00-23:00 (sorry 10-11pm). We managed to get some Fe-breeze and picked up a few other items. The store on the whole was exceptionally quiet at that time, but on other visits it is the same. They stock the usual items a supermarket would stock - fresh fruit & veg, dairy, meats, canned items, detergents, huge variety of pet food, pet toys, candies, cookies, potato chips and everything except the kitchen sink I think! Things are slighly over priced here and I can understand that is because they are open 24 hours, so they can cover their costs. It is a decent place to shop, very local and supplies a good variety of items - some not available in other places. However, we would only be visiting when we have forgotten something OR need something and in the vicinity. Oh yes, and for those who wonder if the Fe-breeze worked, it did! Hooray! read more

For some reason, when I think of QFC, I think of groceries that cost a little more than other places, but when I go to this one in Issaquah, it seems like the prices for many items are actually lower than the other grocery stores in the area. Maybe it's just because most things are more expensive out here, but i've compared prices on a few things, and QFC is usually cheaper. Anyways, it's always clean inside, the items are properly faced and stocked, no matter when I come in. The deli has some good, quick premade lunches and in the hot/cold case they have some really tasty food like their potato salad. This QFC has 2 Redbox kiosks, a Coinstar kiosk and a Starbucks. I love this Starbucks! There is a full Starbucks store in the parking lot of this QFC, but I just like this one inside a bit better. The baristas are always friendly, know my drink and make it how I ask (even if I switch it up on them a lot) The fruits and veggie section is top notch here. When strawberries were in season, I went to a bunch of different stores but QFC had these boxes of Driscoll's that were always in better shape than other places that even had the exact same brand. At other stores, the strawberries always had a few that were on the verge of rotting, but not here. The staff gets you through the line quickly and are always friendly and helpful. Compared with other nearby QFC stores (such as the excellent store in Bellevue Village), this QFC is lacking in several ways. They do not provide assisted checkout service before 8:00 am, so no matter how full your cart is, you are expected to self-check-out. Even if an employee is standing near the checkout aisle stocking an endcap, they will refuse to provide checkout service. What ever happened to "The customer is our first priority"? Another area that needs improvement is the shelf stocking itself. The shelf stockers will completely block an aisle, causing customers to go halfway up the aisle to get their goods then turn around and go back and around to access goods on the other side of the shelf stocker. In addition, this morning my wife was shopping at this store and, while going down an aisle and within 4 feet of the aisle exit, a shelf stocker with a large cart entered the aisle and blocked her exit. When she stopped and looked at him, he actually said to her, "You could turn around and go out the other end." Again, lousy customer service. A third area of poor customer sensitivity that I've experienced many times is in the produce department. Shelf stockers there have the huge produce carts and place them squarely in the produce aisle, blocking access. Then, two or three of the employees stand there talking about the recent sports game, or some political issue, or management of the store, using their phones to look up data on the internet. All the while, customers are trying to get around them to access produce products. These "meetings" can last for 10 minutes, all the while ignoring the surrounding customers. If you want to re-experience quality customer service in a food store, visit the Town and Country store on Lakemont. Much superior to the Issaquah QFC read more

Although there produce isn't my favorite or always with the most longevity (I have had some issues with things molding quickly and their selection of and quality of greens could use some work) in the Issaquah area, I have found that their staff is almost always friendly. I have never had issues finding what I need and the lay-out of the store just makes sense to me, although, I guess that's just habit and repetition. They have tried to embrace self-checkout and the new scan-as-you-go (who hasn't) and I've found that in a pinch, checking yourself out is quick and easy but it's a pain with many items. Overall, the locations is convenient, close to my work and major thoroughfares but the parking lot can be very full with so many neighboring stores. I will say that in the recent snowpocalypse/snowmaggedon their staff came through. As you can see from the pictures, they were wiped out of onions, bread, produce, etc. however the store was still clean and the staff still friendly.--I will say they did look a bit more tired than usual. Do not sign up for Instacart. They shop for two customers at a time, your frozen items sit while they shop for someone else. It took 45 minutes from when my items were shopped to when they were delivered, and I live five minutes from the store. The other customer's items were delivered first. My items were driven all over and defrosted. Instacart is a cheap company doing bad business practices for quick money. QFC can shop for you and you can pick up your order. This is a review on Instacart, not QFC, which is a great store. read more

A clean, well-stocked grocery store with a large parking lot. QFC had an amazing selection of fresh flowers for Easter weekend. They also feature donuts from Top Pot in the bakery section. Beware: Issaquah grocery stores no longer have plastic bags when you checkout. They offer paper bags for 5 cents or request that you bring your own reusable grocery bag. Also, you can use your Fred Meyer or Kroger coupon cards here since they are in the same family of store. Convenient! read more

Of all the QFC's I have been to I would probably say they are A-OK. Not saying they are bad but not saying they are off the charts good. The store they keep clean, however the part that made them a three star was I felt like I was being stalked when I was there. I went in to get some soda as they had a special in the ad. Store is clean and organized. Would much like to see a better selection of cheeses and far more checkouts available at pretty much all times. Most of the time the wait at checkouts seems far too long for the number of people. Overall the cashiers have been polite although one or two have been blatantly rude, not saying anything while I had sat in line through two customers just to put up their closed sign and not even acknowledge my existence. I pretty much try to buzz in, go through self-checkout and get the heck out. Too many people so stay away from the busy hours. I go at night to do my main shopping or during a game. Pricing is much higher than in the Midwest, although that is not too surprising. read more

This review is solely for the bakery! I was supposed to order 5 dozen cupcakes for a work function and completely forgot until the night before. I went in to QFC at 4:45pm asking for 60 gourmet cupcakes to be ready by 11am the next morning. The bakery staff were friendly, cheerful and helpful. The first lady who helped me wanted me to wait for someone else, who I'm assuming is the actual baker. Once I got the right person she took my order and although at first she seemed a little hesitant when I said how many I needed, she quickly brushed that off and was happy to commit to having the cupcakes ready for me the next day. I apologized for coming in on such short notice and she assured me it was no problem. I've had the cupcakes from here before and they really are scrumptious which is why I wanted these for the staff event and not just plain boring cupcakes like you get at the other local markets. I'll be coming back here each month to order cupcakes - with better notice of course! read more
