I still try to comprehend why we went from roughly 8 hours estimate to pack and download to 13.5…read morehours. Multiply that by 250$ Kevin the owner is not good at providing proper estimates. Very polite and I am sure he will politely respond here as he did privately. The 1/2 drive charge before and after is a cost that is being added after the fact not in original discussions. (Happened both for packing and move) After my correspondence with him on the extra hours he turned the blame on me that the packing was not done right (unorganized) and the van was parked a bit further away from entry for download. As per packing, his own team were involved in packing majority of our stuff. They spent 5 hours the week before. Furthermore the big portion of our stuff was already stored in their pod since July. Yes They were still many boxes left in our house but very little furniture to move: - piano, dining table, 3 disassembled beds, 1 sofa, 1 coffee table, 2 bed side tables, 2 book shelves, one drawer, 3 chairs , one bbq , one lawn mower and one tv So I still don't get why it cost us this much time and money. Yes we were in unfortunate state that the spot in front was taken. That for sure slowed things down, but not 4-5 hours extra. Yes I made the stupid move to watch my kids around 6 pm instead of watching them for entire time so I let them do the download on their own. Did the download actually took from 3 to 8 pm no breaks?! I would like to believe they were truthful. I tried to resolve this with Kevin privately. . We ageeed that the guys worked hard and took only their claimed 30 min break! I raised the issue of lack of management and proper estimates and that needs to be fixed and for that I need to be compensated. He offered me future discount for a future move !!!! (Which basically is a very pretend polite way of dismissing me) I moved with this company 20'years ago. I was happy enough. That's why I went to them this time. But I will never recommend them again as it will turn to be very costly.

But I can't blame them as it was a last minute call to get them do this job. Came right on time for loading and delivery as well. Unloaded and to my surprise, nothing was broken and nothing was missing (as mentioned in previous comments). Cost of moving from BC to Seattle was reasonable. All togather I would recommend them! Thanks guys!

I tried Sentinel Storage - Richmond a while back with their $1 trial as I planned on being away to Vancouver Island for a month and thought to put my things in storage. I didn't end up using the storage however although I did experience the registration and cancellation along with the tour of the storage facility. I remembered my sign up was effortless and quick. I made use of an ongoing promotion they had at the time which offered your first month for $1. (It seemed too good to be true.) It truly was $1. The staff were friendly and professional and the manager was very welcoming. They walk you through the sign up and tell you what you're signing up for, and their policies like you can't store food in your unit (understandably); you do require insurance for your items (whether by their provider or your own) however if I remembered correctly, the first month was free if the value of items was bellow a certain threshold (hence $1 was truly $1 true to the promo deals than any hidden fees). I wasn't planning on storing anything of value so I didn't need insurance for the month; I didn't end up using the storage however I did note the facility seemed clean and secure from my first and only visit. You are given a pin code for entry and you also have to bring your own pad lock for your storage unit. The unit was well sized and they have a variety of sizing to suit your needs however I just needed a small space intending to put some things from a condo while out for a couple months. In the end, I didn't use the storage and left it empty. I was out of town when renewal came about and so I emailed them requesting for a cancellation. True to their word, there was no gimmicks, ifs ands or buts - they cancelled the storage rental upon request without further billing. It was a very positive, effortless, and easy experience dealing with Sentinel Storage. Now storage services like gym subscriptions and cellphone providers can sometimes get a bad rap for hidden fees and relentless billing even after cancellation (At least so I've heard the stories - I've never had an issue with storage services in Canada for the two I've tried, and I'm not really a gym kind of person lol. Cellphones rip of customers with outrages rates compared to other countries but that's changing thankfully with more competition and regulation). It's nice to see professional services like Sentinel Storage (and another storage service in Vancouver I've formerly tried) were all honest, friendly, and professional. They provided the service that customer required and honoured their promotions and cancellation upon request as well. No false advertising and no tricks to keep customers billed for something they don't use. My experience personally at Sentinel Storage was a five star and I will certainly consider them if I require storage in the future. Thanks.

I was having to get out of a house that had turned out to be something other than it had first appeared, and Advanced was the only facility that I could find at the time that did not require a credit card, and where I could simply pay by the month without a term agreement. The staff have always been courteous, if they haven't been able to offer at least a smile it has been because either they are tired or they are having to help me with something when their office shift should be finished. It is a huge facility, so I can't speak for all of the units, but mine was dry, clean, and I never saw signs of rodents or insect infestation. 3 years in and my totes of paperbacks look as though they had been in a humidity controlled archival system. About the only complaints that I could offer would be that their online payment system used to be almost a ritualistic gaunlet to navigate (I believe that they have fixed that), and their automated warning software will send payment due prompts when arrangements have already been made between human beings. Oh, yeah, and as a pedestrian pushing or pulling a cart, the "One Way" entrance/exit gates are somewhat irritating, massively so if it is after office hours and you realize that the only open washroom is a minimum of a ten minute walk away. At least I felt safe walking away from my stuff for a while the times that particular issue came up. That's sort of the point, right? PS I'm from Vancouver, not San Fran, that's just Yelp being weird.
