Absolutely terrible. To understand my background here - I've been coming to Stone Harbor since I was a child. I have three family members who have now lived on the island for over 20 years. My husband and I popped into this restaurant tonight, and one dish was worse than the next. The seafood bisque is some weird tomato-based soup. I would never call it a bisque. My crab puppies were lukewarm, and served with a cold tomato sauce, which made them taste very cold. The crabcakes are overly fried, and with no flavor. My husband's steamed clams also had no flavor. I see no reason to ever go back here. The only thing this Restaurant has is location, as it is on a very affluent island. Please find another place to eat. Please don't support a business, serving mediocre, overpriced food, to tourists. I always say, in my reviews, would I go back here? Hell no. read more

Our experience started off poorly with Quahog's not honoring our reservation. We arrived on time and had to wait over 30 minutes for our table. When we asked about the length of the wait we were given a rude response. Once we were seated, the quality of the food was subpar. This was a very underwhelming meal. We started off with the specialty cocktail. It tasted like a strawberry margarita you could buy premade in the grocery store. They were pretty picturesque though! We got steamed mussels to start and half of them were cold. They were served over a bed of canned tomatoes. Not very good. For meals, I ordered the fish tacos which were doused with some sort of crema and cheese. The fish wasn't proportional. It also didn't really seem fresh. Again, the food was lukewarm at best. My companion ordered the coconut shrimp po-boy. He was also underwhelmed with the blandness and had to pour ketchup all over it. This was lukewarm as well. The ambiance and service were great! I've been going to quahogs for many summers and I'll never go back. The food is dramatically over priced and not that great. How hard is it to grill tuna? Apparently it takes three attempts and on the final attempt it's so dry that it is inedible. Plus if you order the catch of the day they add another $4. Can someone tell me why? The servers are extremely inexperienced and it shows. Love the homemade chickpea salad. But the portion was good for maybe one person at a table of four. It took about ten minutes to get the glass of wine and the food came out so sporadically. The kitchen has no concept of timing. The table next to us. Kid gots his pasta, one adult got his lobster bake, 10-15 minutes later another adult got her salad and then the fourth person - his entree never came. They gave up. It then took about ten minutes to just get the check. Ok back to our meal. Did the server or anyone acknowledge the mess up in the kitchen? Did they offer to adjust the bill or free app? Nope. Nothing. Due to the outdoor dining and the location I know they'll have a constant crowd but if you want good food, at a reasonable price ($52 for a lobster at a clam shack?) then stay away. Went to Quahog's last Saturday. Started with the crab taquitos special, guac, and tuna "tartar". (I) taquitos were factually tacos & shell was over fried and greasy. Crab filling was eh. (ii) guac was highlight of entire meal. (iii) tuna "tartar" was really a ceviche which we had ordered specifically instead of the 2 "ceviches" enumerated on menu. Complete ruination of sushi grade tuna. Inedible. Also had an oyster shooter - apparently they do not clean the keepsake shot glass for you and had to wipe it out myself. I ordered the special paella. Actually the worst dish I have had come out in a restaurant in 5+ years. The stench of fishiness pervaded but perhaps the worst offender was the mussel that texture-wise resembled a hardened rubber band. Actually uncuttable with a knife. Sent it back and asked for salmon catch of day, which was surprisingly edible, although the choice to serve a fish fillet with a cheesy gratin was interesting. Notably, while they took the paella off the bill, they did not comp the replacement entree which was surprising to me given the inedibility of the paella. Honestly, they clearly print money at this place and the apparent lack of pride/care in food preparation is apparent. No need to care that much about mediocrity at best when you are turning tables every 45 minutes in a packed house. That said, our waiter Logan was excellent and should be commended. He is in a tough spot and was great at customer service. Could leave the haughty hostesses behind though. read more

Every summer we make an impromptu visit to Stone Harbor to have dinner at Quahog's. We love the dilapidated sea shanty vibe and the inventive cuisine that spills from the kitchen. Every year it's been a 4.5 or better. This year, we were left wondering, what the hell happened? Calamari that used to be crispy and delicious is now drowning in what appears to be bottled barbecue sauce. Fried shrimp...? ... inexcusably limp and tasteless. Maybe their new liquor license has introduced profits into the mix that make the kitchen an afterthought. Perhaps, but judging from the overflow crowd, Quahog's appears review proof only in the way that a high turnover tourist destination can be. Time to look for a new road trip. read more

Made a reservation on open table for 7:45 which was the next time available after a movie which ended at 6:45. I called the restaurant directly later in the day and asked if we could move our reservation up but they said that they were booked. We didn't want to hang out for an hour so we checked in at 7:00 and were seated immediately. Only about half the tables were taken. We were seated on the patio but the music inside was blaring. I don't know how it was possible to have a conversation let alone a peaceful meal. The patio was very relaxing. The restaurant was well staffed, attentive and courteous. We always look at the menu and specials which looked appealing but always get the Moqueca which is a Brazilian fish stew served over coconut rice. In addition to fish, it has shrimp, mussels, clams, and calamari served in a bowl with crusty bread. If you haven't had it you must try it. My oysters were excellent, cleaned and opened properly. It has a nice casual vibe and most nights there is a drink special. I had a half price margarita which was excellent. We have been going for years and frankly there have been some ups and downs but the place is running smoothly and the food is worth the price. I highly recommend it. read more

Stopped in to Quahog's on a Saturday after an event in Wildwood. Stone Harbor is really a welcome relief. It was a beautiful day, in the low 80's with low humidity. We got there about 1:00 PM and we were seated right away. There were open tables and we ate on the patio. It was pleasant outside but it could get hot as other Yelpers have written. We had the Guacamole, the Lobster Taquitos, Calamari and the BBQ Pacu Pacu Fish Rib Dinner. Everything was very good, my party loved the Taquitos, but they were a little small. The BBQ Pacu Pacu Fish Rib Dinner was good also but wasn't the super special dish I was expecting. Be careful of the bones, the coconut rice was really good that accompanied the BBQ Pacu Pacu. We did see this place on DD&Ds and it is another restaurant off our hit list. Most of the places we have visited on DD&Ds have been pretty good, but seldom live up to Guys over the top, cartoon character hype. That being told, I would go back Quahog's when in Stone Harbor as long as there wasn't a huge wait. It had the beach vibe we were looking for and the food was better then decent. It is a bit pricey but so is everything at the shore during the summer. There is a public parking lot directly across the street and the beach is only a block or so away. They also have take out taco service if your beach bound. 3.5 stars read more

Just a follow up to my son's review earlier tonite. This restraunt was recommended to us as a go to place for seafood . Good food maybe, but the staff not so much. Because so much of the dinning area was always outdoors they are able to handle the Covid situation very well. Unlike most other restaurants that are struggling with the new outdoor dinning , Quahog did not miss a beat. On my visit this week they served a complementary chip pea appetizer. Been here two years in a row now and just got some tacos to go for lunch today. The tacos were great. I had shrimp tacos, which maybe needed a pinch of salt, but they tasted great and authentic. My GF had the mahi mahi tacos which had a great mango salsa on top. What continually brings me back here is the clam chowder. It's not a typical New England clam chowder. Good, if expensive menu. Casual setting. Management issues with seating and reservations. With a Rez, told to wait nearly an hour as they were "behind". Doing their best, young people working should not be managing telling people their two hours at a table is finished and angry customers told to wait indefinitely. Seated one hour later, another 45 minutes for food. Dining here should not be a three hour experience, with only 30 minutes if that time with the food, which included cold over overcooked orders. Figure it out, owners. Take fewer reservations or tell people to get out after 2hours. Stop taking reservations that are meaningless. read more

Always used to love coming here but this season I was not impressed at all. Out of what we wanted but we got there when they opened, so that was weird to be out of a special upon opening. Don't advertise it then. Seafood 'bisque' was basically Marinara sauce with a morsel of crab and a sliver of shrimp. Fresh tacos has nice toppings but were made with fried fish sticks not fresh fish. We took a ride from Margate to visit this DDD joint and sadly , they didn't have the fish and ribs special that Guy Fieri bragged about, so we got a pot pourie of appetizers. Fish tacos, empanadas, and guacamole chips with crab meat. I had a couple adult beverages as well. All were delicious and the place was a very cool hole in the wall with bar and outside (covered) seating. Looking from the outside, you don't expect much but we were thoroughly surprised. Had our last meal here on our final evening in NJ. Got there right at 5 and were seated very promptly. Very cool spot, great shabby chic beach decor. Attentive and pleasant staff. Drinks were good. I got a Negroni, two of us got the special G+Ts, and one got a caipirinha. No complaints here. Food, overall, was just ok. I actually got the moqueca stew (vs the lobster roll, per waitress suggestion). Menu said it would include bacalao, but my fish looked and tasted eerily like any old salmon. Wasn't going to call them out for it, but would've been nice to get a heads up from the waitress when I was ordering. Broth was nice and buttery but lacked in the seasoning and depth department. The guy that got the seafood ravioli thought they were meh. Paella was decent. Fried shrimp platter with fries was what you'd expect. Would I go here again? Honestly...no. Maybe if I'm in the area and someone else is treating I'll go and try one of the daily specials or something. Overall I'd give this place a 3/5, with the drinks and atmosphere being the stars, and the food being frankly underwhelming. read more

Went back to Quahog's for our first night out since March and we were happy with EVERYTHING. The tables were spaced out appropriately, all employees were wearing masks, the service was nothing short of perfect and the food was hot and delicious. No wonder Guy Fieri chose this as a dive, it is everything you never expected out of a little place. Very quaint and unique, with three separate rooms that go straight back, mismatched chairs and little decorations that tie everything together. My party of five was in the outdoor seating, under a string light pavilion. Although the menu's APPEARANCE looks very basic and mundane, the food itself that you order will blow you away. Absolutely everything we ordered exceeded expectations. Service was friendly, attentive and knowledgable. The specials menu was beautifully displayed on one of the chalkboard walls on the side. You get served glass bottles of water and chickpea salsa and crackers to share. Definitely worth the stop if your close-or not close. Be sure to grab a little Quahog sticker on your way out. read more

Skipped coming for a couple years but tried again this summer. This time I tried one of their specialties the Brazilian stew and clam chowder. Both unique takes. Others had the whole Maine lobster dinner and the fried scallops. All were good at best. Unfortunately the exact same dining result as my previous tries a few years ago. Great friendly service, but very average food at very high prices - even for Stone Harbor. And no longer BYOB, which is another disappointment. They specifically tell you not to bring your own wine in red letters in their FAQs. read more

One of our go-to's at the shore. We stopped going regularly a few years ago as we felt the quality of food had begun to suffer. Then two years ago, after the ownership closed their restaurant in Cape May, Quahog's really stepped it up again. There's a ton that we like on the menu and we order different dishes most times that we go but I almost always order the fish special, whatever it is. The bar is a great addition and it brings a different dimension to the place. Recommend! read more

Let me just say that all the years I've been doing to SH I've been dying to try this place. We made reservations though yelp while on the beach today. We arrived at 5:15 for 5:30 reservations, we were sat on the patio immediately. This place reminds me of something on the west coast. It's not visually fancy by any means but the food is. We were immediately greeted by our server. He was great! He throughly explained the menu and the specials. We started with 2 appetizers tonight. First was the Quahogs flatbread. It ricotta, olive oil, clams, bacon and arugula. Normally seafood and cheese is a no no for me, this was a home run though. The flat bread was crispy but soft and the flavors were of the chart. Second was the fried hamachi collar. It was a yellowtail collar lightly fried with eel sauce. It was just okay. It was very tender and light but it has a strong fishy taste. It wasn't my favorite. The sauces accompanied with it were very good. They also give you a bean dip to snack on while you're waiting. It was good. For entrees I went with the barbacoa Del Mar and the wife has the lobster ravioli. The ravioli were fantastic! They were in a San marzano cream sauce with bay scallops. They were to die for! My entree was very good. The short rib was fork tender and the scallops were cooked just right. They were a bit skimpy with the portion size for the price of $33.00. I only got a quarter piece of corn and 2 scallops. The entree was good though, just wish I got a bit more for the money. Overall we had a great meal and we would stop back in. The shack is a byo but they do sell bottles of wine and sangria. Keep in mind though that the wine is pricey as is the food. The food is very good and the plating is beautiful and not something you typically see at the beach. Solid 4 stars though. read more
