    Chicken Parm - $34
    Katharine O.

Decided to try this place on a whim to get some takeout, and after this, never again! The chicken parm wasn't great; it cost $34 and you get a tiny piece of chicken and tiny amount of spaghetti. The tomato sauce they used is the cheap kind where it's strangely oversweet, and the chicken ended up being dry and overcooked. Alfredo's in Court House sells the exact same dish for $21.99, and the portions are easily triple the size of the one sold here and it's much better quality. The Key Lime Pie was CRIMINALLY tiny. $9 for something that's less then 3inches wide?! That's not even an actual slice of a pie, that's a tiny dessert tart that would be $3 literally anywhere else. The taste of the key lime tart was off too, every bite had a strong tinfoil taste to it. Likely it was frozen and then thawed and left out so long it absorbed the foil dish it sits in. I'm not going to bother with this place for takeout in the future; it's insanely expensive, and the portions are dismally small. The staff working the takeout window were very sweet, but I felt bad because it looked like they had no a/c in there.

Great experience sitting outside, quick service, variety of menu offerings, blankets to grab near the front desk if you're cold outside!

One of the better seafood restaurants in Stone Harbor area. Gets super crowded around dinner time, better to make reservation ahead of time. The restaurant has mostly indoor sitting only, with few tables outside of shed, under open space. The menu items and drinks are written with chalks in boards hanging on walls, but they hand out paper menus too. This place lots of interesting sea food dishes. They start you off with complementary chickpeas. The appetizer and entrees do take some time to come out, during rush hours. We really like their clamps, mussels, blackened fish (very well seasoned), and the Moqueca stew. Unfortunately, the margaritas were little disappointing. Out of the three margaritas we ordered, only Passion Fruit had some taste of the fruit, for Mango and Blood Orange, we couldn't find any presence of fruit, just tasted alcohol. The kids pasta with marinara also very blend. As the restaurant is mostly under a shed, it gets really loud, as people are talking and having a good time. So, we also had to talk really loud among selves. Food taste - 4/5 Food prep time - 3/5 Price - $$$$ Service - 4/5 Items Tasted: Clams, Mussels, Oyster - 4/5 Grilled catch of the day Tuna - 4/5 Blackened Grilled Fish - 5/5 Moqueca Stew - 4/5

Somewhat of a skimpy slice of key lime pie. But not bad.

I saw this place on a Food Network show many years ago, always had it on the list of NJ restaurants "to try," and kind of stumbled upon it on a recent trip to the Cape May area. I tried their famous seafood stew, Moqueca (reminiscent of a Thai, green, coconut fish curry), which was great, and my dinner partner tried the clam bake, which was...well, not so great. Maybe we're simply not fans of the clam bake in general, but this one seemed more like a "clam boil" bathing in a broth of salted vinegar water. My dinner partner has a talent for ordering the worst dish off of generally good menus, so we chalked it up to this. We also ordered the Watermelon Mojito, which looked like it would taste like watermelon (because it was red enough), but which tasted like a regular mojito. We finished our meal with a slice of fairly decent key lime pie, but the slice was a bit skimpier than normal. And not the most diverse crowd -- definitely got some stares from patrons that apparently had never seen brown people before (or who were amazed people like us could afford this place) -- but I might return when I'm in the area again. Moqueca: 4/5 Clam Bake: 1/5 Watermelon Mojito: 2/5 Oysters (Raw Bar): 4/5 Key Lime Pie: 3/5

Looked like something that fell in there by accident. Just don't offer the crabmeat, if you're putting in a .005oz. Looks questionable. The biggest issue is the broken AC. This should be communicated to customers. Not a pleasant experience if you're sweating while eating your dinner. Overall I'd say save your money, go someplace w at least a working AC

I am giving Ricks 5 stars for customer service great reasonable market priced seafood…read more I have gone to Ricks for years and this 5 star review is given out after years of consistently receiving delicious take out food and this particular night was the night before the 4th and they were slammed and I sent my niece in to pick up 5 pre made uncooked crab cakes which I have done for years so that we can have dinner on our time ... They were slammed and told my niece that it would be 2 hour wait Well she that ked them and said we couldn't wait because we were headed back off island Before she could get back to my car ... I believe the manager owner or chef came out of the back of the busy kitchen toy car parked across the street and said Can you wait 20 minutes and I responded absolutely!!! I don't believe he knows how often we stop in but I believe he remembers me because I order a lot of uncooked crab cakes throughout the year and am a local... regardless, that level of customer service deserves an extra nod I truly appreciated that he took the time to make our weekend complete with a delicious Ricks dinner Big fan of their prepared dinners, fresh seafood and their soups and chowders I am blessed to live in a community where every attempt is made to make a customer happy This time they went above and beyond So thank you to the hard working staff at ricks Forever a fan Forever a customer

Update to Previous 1 Star Review:…read more So it looks like Rick's is remaining in the 1 Star Category. This year I tried putting in my order a day before since last year I gave them 2 weeks notice and they were unable to fulfill since they hadn't pulled my order aside until the moment I walked in their doors for pickup. This morning at 9A I walked through their doors to put in an order for tomorrow pickup and was met with rash and abrasive responses through and through. Q: Could I have the order be picked up at 5P? A: I doubt that Q: Could I order Large Crabs? A: No large, you get what's in the window. Q: Could I order 8 Medium? A: I can give you a dozen. My Response: No, I'm only one person. Nobody else eats them. A: Fine, 8 Q: Can I have them steamed w. Old Bay? A: No, my crabs are already accounted for. You'd be taking them cold from the window tomorrow. Whatever is out today. My Response: Ok, never mind then. I'll just leave it at that. No order thanks. (Proceeds to walk out of Rick's). So my question... When is the sweet spot? I gave you guys two weeks notice last year and my order wasn't able to be fulfilled and was only put together with whatever was in the "window" at the time of pickup. I gave you a day before this year and it still isn't able to be fulfilled properly. If this is how you treat your patrons, I truly regret ever giving you my business for the past 15+ years. I attempted to give you guys one last try, this was the final straw.

The menu reads like a love letter to the region -- Stone Circle Farm spinach, Sickler Farm eggs, Jersey asparagus, local tuna. This isn't farm-to-table as aesthetic. It's farm-to-table as commitment, and you can taste the difference. We started with the picada. The deviled smoked trout egg with trout caviar and micro chive was quietly spectacular -- the kind of dish that makes you stop mid-conversation. The grilled Ludlam oyster with koji BBQ butter and braised collard greens was deeply satisfying, Southern and coastal at once. For mains, the wood-fired grill is the move. The hanger steak (Entraña Gruesa) from Creekstone Farm was everything a steak should be -- robust, tender, properly marbled. Paired with the tallow herbed fries, I had zero regrets. I also got to enjoy king salmon aged 6 days, full of flavor and excellent to share with a table mate. The strawberries with lemon soft cream for dessert were the right ending. Simple. Perfect. In a shore town full of places coasting on location, La Porteña is actually trying. And succeeding. I've been 3 times so far and can't wait to go back.

Only disappointment was the gnocchi. It had nice lobster chunks but the gnocchi tasted oily.

From the moment you walk in, you can tell the restaurant is designed for people looking for something a little more special than a casual meal. It strikes a nice balance between upscale and comfortable, making it equally suited for a romantic date night, celebrating a special occasion, or enjoying a more refined dinner with friends or family. The atmosphere feels polished without being overly formal. Intentional - Everything about the restaurant feels thoughtfully designed. The menu is curated rather than overwhelming, with dishes that seem carefully crafted instead of trying to be everything to everyone. The dining room layout also deserves credit. The tables are spaced in a way that gives you privacy while still maximizing the room. Servers move through the restaurant with ease, and you never feel like you're bumping into other guests or having conversations on top of one another. It's clear that attention was paid to both the guest experience and the overall flow of the restaurant. Salmon - I ordered the salmon, and it was one of the highlights of the evening. The fish was cooked perfectly--tender, flaky, and moist--with an Asian-inspired seasoning that added plenty of flavor without overpowering the salmon itself. The accompanying sides complemented the dish well and created a balanced meal. What surprised me most was the portion size. At a restaurant with this level of presentation, I expected a smaller serving, but the portion was generous and left me completely satisfied. I would absolutely order it again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting. Pro tip: Make a reservation, especially during peak dinner hours or weekends. It has the feel of a place people choose for special occasions, so tables can fill up quickly. Pro tip: Come dressed for the atmosphere. While there isn't a strict dress code, business casual or date-night attire fits the vibe and helps make the experience feel complete
