Absolute disappointment …read more I trusted this shop based on past experiences because they used to be helpful. We are not just returning customers. We have used them several times over the years and have referred many people to them. I sent my child there for a second opinion after he was sandwiched in an accident, and needed a second opinion because the first shop couldn't find parts. I made an appt last week and explained the situation and that this was a second opinion and we needed also help finding parts. Steve told us to come back today, so we did. My son went in, Steve completely forgot the purpose of the visit, started questioning my son, then my son told me "the manager guy is angry and calling you" I said ok. Steve calls me, I re explain the situation, he says "your son says he doesn't plan to fix the car" (all while having a rude tone with me). I let him know that obviously we will be fixing it-- that's why we are bringing it to the body shop, to which "Steve" replied, "I'm not doing an inspection for free." I calmly asked (in my raspy voice because I'm sick), "How much would you like me to pay for the inspection?" He immediately snapped, "I can sense a tone in your voice so I'm not doing the inspection because of your attitude," and proceeded to yell at me (with my son standing in front of him) so I hung up. I am currently recovering from pneumonia, so no, I don't have a chipper, lady-like voice right now. The fact that he chose to yell at me in front of my child over "tone" is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. To be treated this way as a loyal, repeat customer who has supported and referred business to this shop is beyond disrespectful. It is also worth noting that the only person who replies to negative reviews appears to be the very individual I am describing here, which makes this experience even more concerning. I will not be returning. If you value being spoken to with basic respect, I suggest you take your business elsewhere. I will also be filing a complaint with the BBB.. And all the recommendations I made for them with my community, I'm retracting. Never again.

Three days before the date we set up over the phone I called them to ask what time they opened to drop my car off, they told me 8am, I told them I will be there at 8 am that date and they say that was ok. Well when I get there to drop my car off they couldn't remember who I was or what car I was dropping off, finally they look into the computer after I reminded them about our past calls and printed out my estimate, but guess what? they simply told me they never put me on schedule after I took a couple days off off work and arrange to have a friend to drive me to work. They offered to take me in next week but the owner I suppose, the guy in the wheelchair didn't even apologized about their unprofessional customer service and the hassle they caused me, I even felt his attitude kind of rude yelling from the other room but never came out to speak to me directly, I don't know if this is the way they treat everyone or it was because I am a Hispanic person with an accent but I will definitely never recommend this body shop to anybody.

I give them 4 stars for their variety of inventory and standing by their warranty…read more Initially I was concerned when it took a couple of attempts to resolve a tricky mechanical issue. They eventually came through for me and did what it took to resolve the problem (fixed the issue). This company will definitely look out for their own interests, before yours, so you need be careful on price and warranty concerns. I would say its better to deal with them than a private individual however one should take the same precautions as if it were a private owner sale. That is, have the vehicle inspected as a condition of the sale. Make sure that you get at least a 2 month warranty that covers everything, or be prepared to walk out the door. Also, when haggling on price, make sure that you are negotiating on "out the door" price and beware that they will include a miscellaneous show room charge into the final deal. I know that when I questioned the extra fee, they acted like it was in the fine print somewhere and I should have known that. Also, be aware to double check any facts and request evidence of everything that you are told about the car. I don't believe that they will necessarily try to rip you off. I think they intend to follow the letter of the law, when making a sale and no more. For example, I was given a verbal promise to fix something that was not in the warranty. That promise was not kept in the end, however they did fix a serious problem that was covered by the warranty. I let the issue go because of the diligence in fixing the serious problem. I'm mostly ok with the sale and would buy from them again, but would go into the next deal with more care. There's a lot of good people that work for the company and one should understand the risk of selling used performance vehicles. They need to make a buck too. I did not find them to be snobby, like some complained. It's not 4.8 stars of quality though. I think we all know how companies get these scores on the internet. That said, I would give them 5 stars if they would have been a more customer focused and communicated more effectively.

The cars are usually in good shape and mileage can vary. Why 3 stars you ask? Well, pricing. Because some of the cars are harder to find on lots, they fell that they can charge a premium for the product. Premium meaning above NADA book value. They tell you that they can do this because you can't find this particular in the area. That's true, you usually can't, but to me, that's a turn off. It almost feels like they are taking advantage of the situation to get as much cash out of you as they can. If your looking for a more unique, sportier, muscle type car, this place is worth checking out. Everyone is friendly with very little pressure. Go in their armed. Find another similar car...price it, then visit them.

Midwest Engine Service - So I paid almost $400 for them to tell me the regulator is broken and for duck tape. Do not go here.

WOW! I can say that this is the best customer service I have ever had! I am a female who knows…read moreNOTHING about cars. I was on a cross country roadtrip when I started haveing engine trouble. I got to Madison, WI and needed the car fixed. I was terrified of being taken advantage of. All this was foreign to me as I did not have a car for most of my life. I called around to MANY transmission shops. When I found Midwest Engine Service I knew I was in the right place. From the get go, I was reassured by the kind voice on the phone. I spoke with the owner, Wayne. He went over the issue with my transmission top to bottom. He spoke in laymen's terms, so I actually understood what he was saying. Not only did I feel comfortable trusting Midwest Engine, they gave me the best quote and fastest turn around! Wayne kept me informed step by step, as I was still trying to finish my roadtrip. It seemed I needed a new axle, so I added that to the work order. Again, Waynes' thoughtful words and actions helped keep me at ease. When I got the call that the car was done, the price was even lower than the quote. This included the axle as well! I was so happy with the quality of work, the service and the trusting comfort they gave me. I was able to get back on the road the next morning. Finally, I was leaving Madison. As I was driving out of town that following morning, I got a call from Wayne. I instantly thought he was going to say they needed the car back or something. Why else would they be calling? It was Wayne. He called to make sure the car was running smoothly and that I had made it out of town ok. He then told me he also called to wish me a safe rest of my trip. I felt blessed. I had definitely found the greatest mechanic and team. They are just lovely, honest and have human integrity. Thank you Wayne & the team.

Stopped by O'Reilly auto parts. They used a small electrical device to check the system. It took them about five minutes. They told me the alternator was bad and needed replacing and didn't charge me anything for the diagnostic. I called Midwest and was told it would cost $750 to replace the alternator. The next day I had to have my car towed into Midwest. They informed me I needed to have a diagnosis performed for $189.99. I questioned that but they told me if it was not an alternator problem, I was going to have to pay for an alternator in addition to whatever they found wrong with the vehicle. I later contacted Meineke and they informed me an electrical diagnosis charge was $68. When Midwest called me, I was informed that it was going to be $850 to repair the alternator. I balked at that because I told him I had been told it would be $750. He stated he could "make that work." My suspicions grew. I went online to research what replacing an alternator entailed. I found two YouTube videos that showed how to replace an alternator in 15 to 30 minutes on a 2010 Camry. The alternator is held on by two bolts. When I went to pick up the car they charged me $506 for a remanufactured alternator when I could've bought one new for $329 from Carquest. They charged me $344.91 in labor to replace the alternator and two serpentine belts. Again, for 30-minute job. Total bill was $1176.88. Even with the Costco discount, it was a rip off. Jeff N.
