Woke up (on a Monday, no less) to find a massive demonic ritual taking place in my living room. Had to be 40 - 45 people at minimum. Candles and black chalk all over the floor. I knew immediately who I had to call. An A Plus Quality HVAC representative arrived very quickly in his 2003 mini cooper. He brought along 3 sticks of dynamite and one of those cartoon detonators with the big push down handle. The cultist were dealt with faster than I ever could have hoped. We have an issue with our water heater pilot light not staying lit for long. It happens every year, and gets old! Nothing like having to light the pilot in the dark little room a half hour before you want a shower, then only getting tepid water! I'm going to the gym more now so I can have a shower after my workouts! This time a plumber told us he thought it was the venting system. So I called a few places that couldn't come for a few days, and then found Pablo at A Plus. He was nice as nice could be, and explained things so clearly. He seriously doesn't think it's a venting issue, and doesn't want us to spend our money on something that's not going to help. These guys are fantastic and so professional! Pablo was the first company to provide me with a quote and his replies were timely and he wasted no time setting up a service call for the next day. Day of service, Alfonso was punctual and arrived at exactly 11 am for our scheduled 11 am - 12 pm window. He inspected the heater and determined that we needed to replace the filter (which we never replaced in over 10 years vs every 3 months!) and the inducer motor (which pushes carbon monoxide out, and helps get the heater to fire up). I really liked how he went through everything with me and took the time to explain what the issues were. While he had both parts on-hand in his car, Alfonso realized that our old inducer uses a dual motor instead of a single one. He said he would be doing us a disservice if he just replaced it with the single motor, so he left my place and went back to their shop in Daly City to get the dual motor. I appreciate his integrity and honesty! Anyways, Alfonso came back 30 minutes later, had both items replaced and stayed long enough to make sure everything was working properly. As a business owner, you always want the best and the most honest person or company to work with you. It's a rare gem to find a person/company that is honest and most importantly professional. I search yelp for several HVAC companies and saw several 5 stars businesses. I made 10 phone calls from top to bottom. Some of the companies couldn't fit me in their schedule but Quality HVAC came to do a quick assessment. I spoke to Pablo and I knew immediately I wanted him to help me. Pablo was able to quickly do a diagnostic and found what I needed. He gave me an estimate which was 3 times less than several HVAC companies. I couldn't believe it. It was a simple change out of the mother board and a little tweet to my fan belt and I was in business again. The other HVAC companies told me it was serious and needed extensive repairs. We were looking at replacing a boiler which services a radiant heating system for our home (the boiler may be the original from when the house was build in the 1960's) and had two individuals from A Plus come out to make an estimate (my comments will apply to both of them but I will reference Pablo since I got a card from him and my memory for names is not what it used to be). We had a very candid dialogue about the options but in the end, Pablo recommended keeping the present boiler as his inspection did not detect anything wrong with it and he thought that it could last another 20 years! I certainly appreciated the honesty and integrity that Pablo provided as another company which serviced our boiler and heating system last year suggested replacing it at that time for $7000. I don't think that I am the only person who would appreciate working with a stand up company like A Plus and should I need work done to our heating system (including a future replacement), I will call A Plus first. read more

The review is for our service back in December 2015/January 2016. It was freezing and our heater was not turning on so I called around. Everyone was either non-responsive or was booked weeks out, but Pablo responded promptly and had reasonable fees. He came over for a visit, diagnosed the problem within minutes, and gave an estimate for our gas valve. The gas valve had to be special ordered but it came within a couple business days. The very next week, Alex came to install our gas valve and was very professional and took the time to explain what he was doing and how to relight our old-school furnace. After our heater broke (it wouldn't stay on), we requested a Yelp quote for the first HVAC service we came across, A Plus Quality HVAC. Pablo was very quick to get back to us (we heard from him that night) and schedule an appointment within 2 days. The A Plus Quality HVAC guys who came out to our home were very professional and friendly. They were quick to solve the problem (the flame wire had some sediment on it and our filter was nasty). When they realized they didn't have the right filter size in their van, they ran down to Home Depot to pick one up for us - most companies wouldn't do that these days. After they got the correct filter and fixed the flame wire (I'm sure that's not the proper name for it), they stayed around a bit while the heater ran to make sure everything worked correctly. They also gave us some solid advice for how can we check on the heater ourselves if something like this happens again. We were very pleased with A Plus Quality HVAC, and we will absolutely be using them again if we have future HVAC issues. read more

I finally decide on A Plus Quality HVAC, once we finalize the appointment time and date, Pablo came over and checked out our issues. He was a very nice guy and explained what he was doing and showed me that the ignitor was broken and that the filter needed to be replaced. I didn't know it had a filter!!! Hahaha, but I do now. He also replaced our old thermostat, it was an older model that uses mercury switch, which works but very unreliable. Overall we were happy with our service. Excellent experience! We had an original furnace in our home over 40 years old that finally stopped. I called A-Plus after reading reviews here. Our heater has been down for a week. I'd spend about 30 minutes a day trying to diagnose problem. Not wanting to buy a new heater, as it was already 30 years old, I thought the problem was the inducer motor. With wires all over, did not want to chance it. After buying an electric blanket, it was inevitable that the unit would have to be repaired as the whole house was cold. I made a call and due to the time of year and reviews, i figured it would be a week. Pablo called in 10 minutes!!! He offered to fit me in the following day in the evening. I told him no problem, and if he could do sooner that would be great. Well he did keep his word and came out!!! Very professional and he knew what he was doing. Yes, it was the motor, thinking that he would have to come back, he had one in his truck. After about 30 minutes, it was done.!!, I was so happy and with the price, I did not even ask for a receipt. Our heater stopped working on a Sunday, so I contacted Pablo (who was actually working that day) and he was able to stop by on the same day to look at our heater. Pablo's company was actually recommended by another HVAC company I called first, who was too busy to come within a reasonable time frame. It's always a good sign when your competition recommends you. Anyway, after Pablo stopped by and gave us a free estimate/diagnosis/suggestions for repair, I realized we were still in our first year of the homeowner's insurance that came with purchasing our house, so I called the insurance company, who said they needed to send their own contracted HVAC contractor and that I couldn't choose my own. Fine, I had them send theirs. I had to pay $60 for their contractor to come take a look, then they had to send someone else to come again over a week later, and finally gave me an estimate that was crazy expensive because they suggested that I needed to replace, essentially, the entire system, and insurance was only going to cover replacing the furnace since that was the only thing needed to get the heater working again. When I asked whether it was really necessary to replace the entire system when all I needed was the furnace, the HVAC company said that in order to replace the furnace, I would need a permit, and I would not be able to get a permit unless I replace the entire system since it's not to code. Okay... fine, since I know nothing about HVAC, I wondered if Pablo could do the same thing for less, so I called Pablo again. Pablo graciously came back for a second estimate, for free, and after hearing what the other company told me, did a thorough analysis again and determined that I did not need to replace the entire system. He got a permit, replaced my furnace, and had the city inspector come and sign off on his work. I guess that other company wasn't completely truthful! Not only did Pablo do a great job, was honest about the needed work, and came back twice for free without being guaranteed this job (and being extremely polite and patient the entire time), but his fees were much lower. The other company was going to charge me $110 more than what Pablo charged me for just getting the permit, if that gives you any idea of how much more reasonable Pablo's rates are. That's not all. When one of the reps at the insurance company accidentally let slip that I COULD have chosen my own contractor a different time I called them (what the heck, insurance company?), Pablo talked to them and helped me get the necessary information to file a claim. Those reps are not easy to talk to and somewhat frustrating, so I appreciate Pablo's help with that. I would definitely recommend Pablo for any HVAC issues and would hire him again should anything go wrong. He's a very courteous, honest, and punctual person with reasonable rates who knows what he's doing and goes beyond the bare minimum to get things working again within your budget. read more
