Saw this restaurant on YouTube and decided to come here for dinner before a broadway show. We ordered the prime rib set special. The meal was delicious. The prime rib was flavorful and tender - just melts in your mouth. It came with a salad and two sides as well. Service was great. The waiter was able to make great recommendations and was super friendly. Had a great experience here.

I had a business lunch and the service still needs tightening up. They sat me at a different table and even after me following up saying that I think I might be at the wrong table, it was only when I emailed to let the other party know I was here that we found each other. This time around though, everyone was at least nice. They started us with bread of our choosing and I chose the pretzel bread, not bad, wish it had a little more pretzel taste. I got the ribeye this time and for lunch, it comes with both pomme puree and yuchoi tips. It strangely came lukewarm, but still well-seasoned - I liked the NY strip more. The sided were both good and we also got creamed corn (good too) and fries (not so good, and barely warm). I had the jeju sejak green tea which was lovely.

Having properly researched and watched all the related YouTube videos about Gui and/or its inventive Chef Shim, I really wanted to love this place but must say I was slightly disappointed. The chef seems so nice and humble unlike other chefs. It's noted they had one Michelin Star in 2025 but I don't think they have the same for '26. Back in the spring of '26 I came with a friend to check it out. The restaurant seems impressive, especially with the elevator opening up to the second floor fridge with all them aged steaks in the refrigerator in full view. We were seated and began to study the menu. The place was fairly busy. SIDENOTE: prior to coming I had looked at their website online specifically to figure out our wine for the night, but the website did not list their wines. When I contacted them, staff assured me a wine list would be available that night. As a start, the somm came by and assisted us with the drink order. Prior to my wine I wanted to start off with a glass of Delirium beer -- she came back and informed that out of the three beers that they had on tap on the menu, only one was available due to delivery problems.  Nonetheless, we went ahead with our respective glasses of wine. While the glasses we ordered were fine, I had wished the wine list had been a bit more expansive. For starters, we had their signature katsu wagyu sando and then the crab cake. Even with the caviar on the top of the sando, it tasted underseasoned; whereas the crab cake definitely tasted better. One would assume the reverse. For the main we shared a ribeye steak cooked rare. It took a little while longer to get to our table. And we noticed service was slower with water refill. While the details (such as plate removal and water refill, plastic/silk flowers) are not a big deal, they add up and perhaps become the reason between Michelin star or not for this year? When the steak came, it, again, tasted underseasoned -- though on the side there was a tomato based spiced up sauce. Overall, I suppose the anticipation of a better meal was not achieved. Am hoping the other restaurants opened by the chef are better.

Guilty of going to GUI 2 times in a week. Once for a friend's birthday then another day for a family dinner. Everything was so delicious and to tell you what I ordered, I will have to recollect harder but I will let the pictures do the talking. The tuna crudo. Salmon tartare. Galbi mando. Mala gambas (?) GUI cut prime rib ( with the horseradish sauce and au jus) Pomme puree Truffle Mac and cheese (a bit too salty for me but eaten with the steak- PERFECTION!) one of the smoothest Mac sauces over ever had. Wagyu kimchi fried rice The beverages Asian sundae Ube baked Alaska with passionfruit sauce And I know I'm missing some but just check out the pictures. The servers were also very kind and attentive and fun to talk with. Overall such a great experience I would go back for a date with a special someone or just a girls night out or just because I can

Came for restaurant week with a friend and we shared salmon tartar (strong contender to the tuna), tuna crude (my favorite), hangar steak with risotto (delicious) , prime rib with potatoes and corn (fabulous) , mocha dessert (tasty), and strawberry shortcake (meh). Our servers were extremely attentive. Downstairs was extremely loud and very bar-ish; but upstairs was so elegant and posh.

Prime Rib Experience: 1 out of 2 plates for 4. Nice flavorful tender meat. Wish it was hot, but very tasty overall

Note: There are several menu changes on the site between the various menus online as well as in the restaurant. Examples include the description of all the sides, the salad, and even what comes with the bread I was here at this Korean-inspired steakhouse with three others for their "Prime Rib Experience," available either for 2 people for $109 or $199 for 4. The deal turned out to be pretty decent, especially for the food desert that is Midtown West. The space itself is pretty nice, but it was very loud, combined with the people as well as the light music, though it was much more comfortable once the loudmouths next door finished their meal. While the entree took a while for the meat to come out, it was good that the staff told us and apologized. Outside of this, the staff was a bit hard to understand, but a lot of that was probably from the noise. I didn't bother with a drink as both a cocktail and mocktail I was interested in weren't available. The experience starts presumably the same as other diners with a Parker House Brioche. The brioche was slightly warm and fluffy, and there was a bit of popcorn on top, which was unique. The butter was a bit cool, but fine. Next was a choice of salad. Most of us went with the Chopped Salad, served with seasonal market greens, sunflower seeds, and a tangerine citronette. The dressing was slightly sweet, and I liked the radicchio in it for added bitterness. Along with some crunch, there were also some sundried tomatoes, which was a nice touch. The other choice was a Caesar Salad, which she liked. As an extra, someone ordered the $15 Double Cut Bacon with heritage pork belly and chunjang glaze. The portion was surprisingly large compared to other steakhouses, and the pork was tender with a mild sweetness. This was tasty and worked nicely, especially when added to the salad. After a good wait, the meat and side dishes arrived, with it arriving as two different prime ribs. Listed as koji-fermented, five-pepper crusted, slow-cooked for 72 hours, and finished with hot beef tallow, the prime rib itself was excellent. The meat was very juicy with the fat rendered down perfectly outside of a tiny bit on the end piece. The outside had a mildly spicy kick with some other interesting flavors, likely from the various pepper mix or the ferment. My only complaint would be that it wasn't super hot or sizzling and was on a cool plate, which was a bit unappetizing. The sauces included were a mixed bag. The beef au jus consommé was decent, but I wish it was a bit more flavorful, with some other spots doing much better. I liked the horseradish cream more as it wasn't too pungent and it had a nice texture. Otherwise, there were some alright sides. First was a decent Pommes Purée, lacking lumps and being creamy but not too much so. Much better was the Creamed Corn, which wasn't overly sweet with a slightly salty tang. As an extra, I added the $12 Charred Asparagus with black bean sauce. The asparagus were chopped, and they had a slightly spicy kick with some fermented flavors. There was otherwise an unnamed, slightly foamy and creamy sauce on the side. Another person added the Wild Mushrooms for $15 with truffle and soy, which I disliked. It was a nice mix with them being perfectly cooked, but in general I don't like truffle oil, and I don't think the extra earthiness pairs well at all with already earthy mushrooms. The bit of saltiness/sourness, presumably from the soy, was nice though. Two of us split dessert. We went with the $15 Baked Alaska, which is different from the menu and cheaper. Instead of what's listed, it had ube and a passion fruit crème anglaise. There was some earthy and slightly sweet flavor from the ube, some creamy sweetness from the meringue, and the passion fruit added some tartness. Overall, I liked it. Outside of the plate not being hot, we liked the prime rib here a lot. The sides and sauces could be better, but the salad and bread were decent. For Midtown West, you could do a whole lot worse. Low 4

Got an anniversary dinner here recently and it was a lovely time. Located within the same building, there's a bar downstairs that you walk into as you head up the elevator to Gui. The interior is spacious with lots of comfortable seating for big groups. Service here is attentive, kind, and quick. We got their prime rib experience for two with the addition of their salmon tartare, alongside some drinks. Everything was great and we left stuffed. Loved their brioche bread that we started with and their caesar salad was very anchovy-forward (but I loved it). Prime rib was full of flavor and so tender. Truly enjoyed their creamed corn and potatoes that were served alongside it. Great meal!

Absolutely delicious! I stopped in to try Gui Steakhouse during restaurant week and loved it! $30 for an appetizer and entree was a steal. My husband and I both enjoyed the salmon tartare, which was topped over some egg salad. Sounds like a weird pairing but it was creamy and balanced with the freshness of the salmon. I had the steak frites which was tender and cooked to perfection! My husband had the burger which I think I liked even more than the steak frites. It was very decadent with delicious caramelized onions! Both entrees and appetizers were decent portions, plus a complimentary piece of bread so we left very stuffed with no room for dessert. The ambiance was nice and sophisticated with super friendly attentive staff. I would definitely go back even without the restaurant week deal

Went to Gui Steakhouse on a relatively quiet Sunday evening and had a great dinner. The restaurant is located on the second floor - spacious yet elegant. We started with the Chopped Salad (very good) and the Shrimp Toast (a little small but tasty). It was our mains that really stood out - the Prime Rib and the Galbi steak were both excellent. Flavorful and well prepared. The Truffle Mac n Cheese was a nice side to share as was the Wild Mushrooms. The Tiramisu for dessert provided a nice finish to the meal. Our server Samantha was friendly and helpful as was the rest of the staff. Will definitely be back!

Gui steakhouse is a modern NYC steakhouse by Chef Sungchul Shim. If you've seen Culinary Class Wars, he was one of the white spoon chefs from season 2. The restaurant serves American steakhouse classics with a Korean twist. The $65 3-course menu is a great deal - you get an appetizer, entree and dessert. Highly recommend the crudo and steak frites. We also ordered the crème corn on the side, which paired perfectly with the steak. The interior felt modern and upscale. The only thing that could be improved is the service, in particular the timeliness of our dishes. I ordered an espresso martini at the beginning of the meal and didn't receive it until after the entree. The creme corn, which was ordered as an accompaniment to the steak, also arrived later than the entree and we had to ask the server a couple of times regarding the status. If you're watching a Broadway show at Eugene O'Neill Theatre, this restaurant is the perfect pre-show dinner as it's located only a 5-minute walk from the theatre.

    Salmon Tartare was okay
    Wendy B.

Appetizer was fine, complimentary bread was the best, so soft! Caesar Salad was okay just very classic, cannot taste the umeboshi. Salmon Tartare was okay, with cheap crostini a bit disappointed. Mandoo - $19 for 2 dumpling was a bit of robbery. Time for the steak --- i'd say the meat was solid, good meat! However, probably rested toooo long. Both prime rib and T-Bone were basically lukewarm or cold when it was served. What's the point putting T Bone on cast iron pan when the pan is cold as well... It was a big space, a bit sparse and quiet on a Friday night.

I added $ to get their signature prime rib and was disappointed. I found the seasoning too peppery and the meat itself bland. The ambiance and service were both okay.

Amazing experience from start to finish, I felt like I had a personalized dinner just because I went to dinner with a friend who attended a Guga event here earlier and he was recognized by the hostess. First of all, ambiance is great. There are some contemporary songs being played in the background, but it's not too overpowering that you can't have a conversation over. Decor is great with dim lighting that would be perfect a date night. Of course none of that matters if the food isn't good, but the food here is simply outstanding. I ordered the ribeye and Brussel sprouts, while my friend ordered the prime rib and yu choy tips. We also ordered the kimchi fried rice. The steaks are cooked to perfection at medium rare (though if I were to nitpick it could a slight bit more searing) and served with special sauces. The inhouse steak sauce wasn't bad, but I liked my steak without it. The fried rice, yu choy tips, and Brussel Sprouts were all also fantastic. There were some complimentary dishes of the chef(unexpected) and they were amazing. First was the bread; I don't think it was on the menu currently online? Butter was creamy and at the perfect temperature where it spreads easily on the delectable bread that had like small popcorn bits on top? The Caesar salad was also great with bits of anchovy that added a small, sweet flavor. The salmon crudo(?) was refreshing especially with the sauce. Dessert, we went for the Paris-Jeju. It was fantastic, wasn't overly sweet and had a cookie-like texture. What stood out though was the service; one of the best I have ever experienced. Samantha, our waitress, was very attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of. She was mindful of my friend's allergy to shellfish so she double checked everything we ordered (the fried rice does use shrimp paste) to make sure everything was okay. Then you have all these complimentary dishes mentioned above that the other waiters brought in and any time our water glasses were close to being half-empty, someone came in to generous refill them. At the end, I nearly forgot my credit card, but somehow Samantha knew and she stopped me and my party. So thank you again, Samantha and your extraordinary sixth sense.

Courtney & Lee, behind the bar, were so friendly & charming, and we ended up having a very nice conversation with them while enjoying Hugo Spritz cocktails. The colorful tiles added warmth to the space; the marble bar top was beautiful; the chandeliers harken back to the hotel's 1905 beginnings. It's an intimate space with great cocktails and wonderful, welcoming staff.

The well-crafted cocktails present thoughtful riffs on the classics, inventive without being showy. While the dim lighting and intimate atmosphere practically beg for a secret rendezvous (there's an ostrich involved), I met up with a friend for the decidedly unscandalous purpose of doing our intention setting for the year over libations and nibbles. I opted for a pastel sour while my companion asked for a drink called The Last Word - it was no longer on the menu but they obligingly made it for us anyway. The menu consists of mostly small plates and is seafood forward, but we shared a petite dish of steak frites, tender and cooked perfectly medium rare. Our server was very sweet but service was slow on the night, and by the time we received our utensils the food was cold. However we were not rushed and were able to linger a bit to finish our conversation. For those who savor finely concocted cocktails paired with fresh raw bar offerings in a salon-like setting, this is the spot for you.

We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.
