Corporate cards beware, Quality Branded is back with their first mexican spot and oh boy is it a treat. No this is not your authentic Oaxacan food in an elevated space with slightly elevated prices. This is over the top showy mexican food at ridiculously high prices, but that's what you're here for. If you're eating in Hudson Yards at a place like this chances are you're on a corporate card and Limusina is betting on that. The queso lights on fire, the guac is super small, but every dish really hits. If I were you I'd skip both of those and get the shrimp aguachile, they're perfect and unique. The Machetes are great, and the guava truffle one really is a treat - sweeter than you would expect. The elote brulee is a must order at least once, it's not the best version of corn you'll ever have, but it's a very good version of corn. And of course you MUST get the Long Bone Short Rib Quesobirria. It is the best dish on this menu and sooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. Service is kind, clear, and caring. The Cocktails we had were good, but don't stray from tequilla, mezcal, Nixta or Licor 43 as beyond those it seems to get a little questionable. I wanted to get churritos, but I was full....I'll be back though. The space is stunning - but you knew it would be if you've been to Twin Tails or Bad Roman...no surprises here. read more

Limusina is Quality Branded's Mexican concept restaurant, so when we stopped by for brunch last Saturday, I was expecting a lot. And it lived up to my expectations! First of all - no surprise, the restaurant is a showstopper. There's so much to look at. With curtains at the windows, even at brunch/lunch, you can really take in the beauty of the space, but I'm sure it would be even more stunning, more of a scene for dinner. The service was also great. Our server (I think his name was Dimas) was wonderful - so friendly and helpful. Limusina doesn't technically serve brunch, but they serve lunch everyday (starting at 11:30 on weekdays and 11 on weekends), so it feels like brunch! Their drink menu is great. There were so many choices, I almost veered into decision paralysis. But I loved their Paloma Highball (Codigo Rosa, Giffard Grapefruit, lime, salt), and my husband enjoyed his cocktail and his NA drink. We shared a few dishes: a squash blossom machete (a machete is classic Mexico City street food - a large, folded quesadilla named for its resemblance to a machete, made with an extra-long handmade tortilla filled with cheese and more); dressed Big Rock oysters (with frozen mezcalita mignonette); yellowtail crudo with raw cucumber and serrano chile; jumbo lump crab and avocado (with charred gooseberry salad); and Tajin Caesar salad (with spiced pumpkin seeds and cotija). Everything was delicious. I'll dream of that machete. The Caesar was perfect. The yellowtail was fresh and clean. The oysters were spicy and chilled from the frozen mezcalita. The crab dish was almost sweet (I might have liked more acid) and very simple. It was a meal I really enjoyed. I'd be more than happy to return to Limusina. Hopefully for dinner next time! Manhattan, NY (near Hudson Yards) - Limusina is the latest offering from Quality Branded, the restaurant group whose portfolio includes Twin Tails, Bad Roman, Don Angie, Quality Meats, among others. It's an upscale contemporary Mexican restaurant whose plush & lush amber-hued modern Deco interiors remind me of the swaggy ambiance at Bad Roman and Twin Tails as well. We started with the black sea bass ceviche, bathed in a creamy, coconutty marinade; and the black truffle & guava jam machete, a sweet & savory long crepe shaped like its namesake blade, that's a fancier version of this unique street food. I enjoyed it and the flavors are nicely balanced, though it wasn't a showstopper for me (but impressive to look at), and the truffle flavor was faint. However it's inspired me to hunt down more of these skinny quesadillas in the city! For our main, we were torn between the short rib vs. the tomahawk prime rib for two, and ultimately went with the tomahawk for the greater novelty, as it's been a while since I've chomped into a juicy prime rib whereas short rib is readily available everywhere. And we are so glad we did! This is one of the finest prime ribs I've had in my life - beautifully marbled, tender, flavorful, and unimpaired by the knots of gristle and fat that can mar lesser cuts. It's marinated overnight in 44 spices, and is accompanied by an airy horseradish whipped cream, almost like a crème fraiche. I could honestly eat that cream by the spoonful. Utterly satisfying all around. I also loved the complimentary fried sweet potatoes brought to the table, which tasted like a better version of sweet plantain. Service was impeccable from top to bottom. An extra commendation goes to our waiter Nurney M. who really knew his way around the menu, answering all of our questions with fluency and expertise, and gave great recommendations based on our interests. This is definitely a HOT SPOT! The decor is beautiful. The people are beautiful. The food is beautiful. Celebrated a birthday here with a party of 6 and we were very well taken care of. The cocktails and apps came out quickly but the entrees took quite a while. We weren't too upset bc our server was entertaining and the vibe was vibing. It is loud but we weren't too upset able to hear each other. Thankfully, the food matched the vibe. We had a number of dishes but I think the standouts were the long bone short rib, the Pork Shank carnitas, the Fundido and the Sweet Potato bites. Excellent food, service, and ambiance! I was l looking for a decent option in Hudson Yards for dinner with friends and came across Limusina. Everything we ordered was delicious - short rib, branzino, cauliflower, yellowtail, elote, and corn ice cream (not pictured). It's on the pricier side but the hospitality makes it worth it - our server was attentive, made solid recommendations for drinks, and didn't rush us (or the table next to us who were there for longer). Wow wow wow Limusina was an amazing experience. We were greeted by friendly staff and waited near the bar for our table. The restaurant was crowded, but it was well worth the wait! My boyfriend found Limusina after searching and Googling, and I'm so happy he did! I'm still thinking about the beautiful, FUN atmosphere and the delicious food. I ordered the cilantro branzino. Wow this spot is a hidden gem and also super easy to get a reservation... for now. Limusina is really bringing some good eats to the Hudson Yards area :) When you first enter, you'll notice how big it is inside. It's super vibey, but definitely in the louder side. Here's what we ordered (a bunch of apps and small plates): - Guacamole (5/5): we loved the guac - it was so fresh and the tortilla chips it came with were so light and crispy!! - Yellowtail aguachile (5/5): the yellowtail was so fresh and the broth it was in was very cucumber forward and refreshing. The most refreshing dish of them all - Red snapper aguachile (5/5): this one was more bright and tangy, but still refreshing. I really loved the addition of the flavorful tomatoes and the pine nuts - these added a great texture - Sea bass ceviche (5/5): also amazing. A bit milkier but really thin and light, and the crunch of the coconut flakes on top was perfect - Bibb salad (4/5): loved the blood orange and corn. Came here on a Sunday night and had the loveliest time! It was relatively empty at that time but the inside is absolutely beautiful, spacious and not too loud at all. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff kindly wrote a handwritten card. We started with the truffle guava quesadilla which was absolutely delicious and a great app to share. We also got the red snapper aguachile which was super refreshing and the pork belly chicharron which was perfectly fatty and a large portion size. For our main, we got the short rib quesabirria which is an absolute must get! The portion size is huge and the meat is incredible. They also give you consume on the side and tortillas to make your own tacos which elevated the dish even more. We also got a side of the elote brulee which was an amazing sweet/salty combo. For dessert we got the chocoflan ice cream cake which was massive and a complimentary dark chocolate masa torta which was my favorite between the two and is super rich. My good good girlfriends brought me here as an early bday/ monthly hang out dinner and we had no idea we were in for such an amazing time... For a Wednesday the place was PACKED, like wall to wall, and it was such a dope vibe. The staff and their lab coats are so cute and they are super friendly. Our waiter Teddy was super knowledgeable about the menu items and their appropriate pairings and after he helped us fine tune our selections for the night, I took a good look around at the decor and was highkey blown away. We ordered in no particular order: the elote; the sea bass cerviche, the brussel sprouts; the sweet potatoes, the red snapper tacos, the short rib quesabirria; the cheese and guava quesadilla, chicaron, the churros and the tres leche and a few different drinks I cant even remember. What a perfect place to celebrate my friend's birthday at this beautiful upscale Mexican restaurant. The ambiance speaks for itself, excellent service, and mouthwatering food. Cocktails were tasty, everyone enjoyed their drinks. The standout dishes for me were the black truffle and guava jam quesadilla, this is literally to die for we had to order 2. The pork belly chicharron, queso fundido, and the steak suadero solteros is also a must order. The whole red snapper was huge and definitely worth ordering especially for large groups. My least favorites were the tajin caesar salad, it was pretty spicy for me and the lobster & montauk corn solteros lacked some flavor. The desserts were all very good, I really enjoyed the churritos and chocoflan ice cream cake. I would have loved to also tried the tres leches dessert next time I visit. I visited Limusina on a Friday night for dinner with a friend and the first thing that stood out was the ambiance. The vibe is sexy, dimly lit, lively and visually stunning. They really nailed the interior design. My only critique is the layout. When the space is full, it feels a bit tight and the tables are so close together that you can easily hear the conversations next to you if the music is not blasting. The food was solid overall. Some of the plating choices felt more aesthetic than practical. For example, the machete comes on a long thin plate that makes it awkward to eat. A circular, oval or square plate would serve the dish better and make the experience more comfortable. The crispy red snapper that you build into tacos was the standout dish of the night. I would return just for that. Appetizers were good. Drinks were pretty watered down and on the weaker side. Dessert was a win, especially the tres leches. The portion was generous and I even enjoyed it the next morning with coffee. Service was friendly but felt rushed. Every time we finished a dish, someone immediately came to clear it, which gave the sense that the restaurant was trying to turn the table quickly. It took away from the ability to settle in and enjoy the experience at our own pace. Would I come back? Yes. I would love to return on a quieter night when there is more space to breathe and the pace of service feels less hurried. From Quality Branded, the folks behind Bad Roman, Don Angie, and others, this is a new, fancier Mexican restaurant with some twists. Some of them worked while others did not as much, which is unfortunate with the steep price point, but we overall enjoyed our meal. The service was very professional, whether it was the people in front, the waiter, or the rest. The waiter in particular was excellent, bringing out extra spoons as well as tortillas, as well as their hot sauce, which was citrusy and a tad sweet (I personally would have preferred more heat.) The inside is funky and is a bit dark, with three bars scattered around. Speaking of the bar, the cocktails (or rather còctels) are mostly tequila-based, which isn't my usual preference as I prefer mezcal pretty heavily. Nevertheless, I ordered the Gorda for $18 with avocado-washed Espolon Añejo, lime, and Cointreau. It arrived slightly off-yellow as expected and was nicely balanced with a bit of sweetness, a slight bite from the añejo/Cointreau, and a little bit of lime. This was good and honestly worth the price. Others enjoyed their margaritas and spritzes. To start, the group ordered one of their Machetes, in this case with black truffle and guava jam for $22. Machetes are uncommon here, and the closest thing by comparison would be a long crispier quesadilla. The guava jam was sweet but not too much, and the masa flavor was nice, but the black truffle flavor was a bit light. It was still nicely sized and plenty for the table, so I'd probably recommend it for a table at least. As an extra, I ordered one of their Red Snapper Aguachile for $22 with passion fruit and toasted pine nuts. This was excellent, with some thick meaty pieces of good quality red snapper in a broth which had both a nice heat to it as well as some citrusy notes from the maracuya. The bits of tomato were a nice add-on, as well as the nutty pine nuts. This was very much worth it and one of the better fancier aguachiles I have had next to Claro in BK. Another person enjoyed two of the Dressed Big Rock Oysters with frozen margarita mignonette (each was $5.) One last person very much enjoyed their Queso Fundido for $22 with toasted sesame flambée. For mains, we ordered two along with some sides. The better of the two was the Long-Bone Short Rib Quesabirria for $75. The dish is nicely presented with the server pouring on the cheese sauce, with some others coming around and pouring the consommé. The meat had a good texture with some tenderness, but it wasn't too soft, and there was plenty of meat to make tacos with the cheese flavor being mild. Speaking of tacos, the blue corn tortillas were solid, and as said, they gave more when requested. Said consommé was slightly salty as per usual and was pretty well flavored, though I wish there was some more heat, as this would have helped with the inherent saltiness. The dish also came with some sliced mango, which was a fun touch. There was also the alright Pork Shank Carnitas for $65. The pork was massive, with the meat being very tender and falling off the bone. However, there was almost too much fat for my liking, and it didn't exactly remind me of carnitas otherwise, though I think it was partially because of the presentation, as normally, the fat and meat are chopped up together. The dish came with two sauces to help with the richness: an herbally one which reminded me a bit of a less spiced/oily chimichurri, and another one which was too sweet, which I think had pineapple as well as some other citrus. Speaking of too sweet, I wasn't a fan of the Elote Brûlée side for $18 with cotija and pickled serranos. The dish was more of an esquites as the corn was off the cob (which is my preference,) but that was the only part I liked, along with the texture. Surprisingly for a dish like this, it lacked salt and spice, with there really being no hint of the cheese or serranos. This is usually one of my favorite sides, and I honestly have gotten tastier ones for $4/$5 on the street, as the sweetness just didn't work. The other side dish, the Mexican Rice Tahdig, for $17 with crispy saffron crust, was a lot better. The rice had a nice texture and indeed reminded me of the Persian dish it's based on. The dish had a nice perfumy saffron flavor and was honestly worth it for the rather steep price point. We got two desserts at the end, which were both very tasty. The Tres Leches for $18, with dulce de leche, was a fun spin. The dish has a nice presentation at the table, with the sauce being poured on top before the mold is removed. It wasn't overly sweet, which is a plus, and the texture was interesting, being almost sponge/bundt cake-like. There was also the Dark Chocolate Masa Torta for $14 with chocolate caramel sauce. The large slice of this dark chocolate cake had a pleasant light sweetness, mostly from the caramel sauce, and the chocolate was of good quality. The cake was moist too. Out of characters. The host was great! Very friendly. I didn't know that the restaurant closed at 10, yet accepted a 9:30 reservation. From prior experience, when you dine at an establishment right before closing, service will not be good, and I was right. Our server did not tell us that they were out of the tomahawk steak for 2. We had to order something else. All the food was spicy: not even the good kind of spicy with flavor. We asked for water and the server only filled one of our glasses. The good: the short rib, Bibb and avocado salad (it had a nice vinaigrette), and the aguachile (we liked the yellowtail and the shrimp). Visited on a Friday night, almost all seats were full but it wasn't too crowded. Our reservation was for 10pm, we weren't seated until minutes to 11 due to a party over staying their dinner time. The staff were super friendly , we received comp champagne , more should've been done in my opinion....aside from the two apps we received as well which we didn't order it was just placed on the table. I didn't get our bartenders name but she was so sweet and made sure we were okay while we waited . Overall I'd give this place a 7/10, the ambiance is very nice and inviting. Our server was also trying right away to upsell us on the tomahawk. No way I'm spending that amount on a steak at a Mexican restaurant. But the whole bill was also wayyyy overpriced. We went to Limusina last night in NYC to celebrate my birthday, and from the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a great time. The lighting immediately pulled us in ... and thankfully we showed up 45 minutes before our reservation so we could grab a cocktail and soak up the vibe. The classic Margarita was spot on, and the Frozen Vampiro was dangerously good. The bar energy was contagious. Then we moved to our table in a really great spot in the main dining room. We loved so much about the décor ... elevated, stylish, and totally consistent with the Quality Branded aesthetic. And the food? Next level. We went for a variety of small plates to share: Guacamole & chips, Queso Fundido, Sea Bass Ceviche, Yellowtail Aguachile, Elote Brûlée, the Squash Blossom Machete, and the Short Rib Quesabirria. Great menu and prices are reasonable! Easily transferred our bar tab to the table. We started with the guac. So fresh. Excellent! Next we had the fiesta salad which I am so bummed I missed a pic of (pre eating it!). All ingredients super fresh and presentation was incredible. Super fun. For mains we had the filet meatballs, Brussels, corn ribs (OMG) and the corn casserole. Husband had the red snapper. Everything was absolutely incredible. This place is absolutely STUNNING. I would come back for the ambiance alone ! This restaurant is one of the most beautiful restaurants ive ever stepped into. The food was great ! I highly recommend the Jumbo Lump Crab & Avocado appetizer ! For my entree I had the branzino; it was very tender and had great flavor. This restaurant has excellent sauces that pair with their dishes. All of the sauces that I tasted were predominantly spicy, so if you like/dont like spice, keep that in mind when trying the sauces or ordering anything that is in a sauce. I took my partner here to celebrate his birthday. It was our first time here and we loved it; from the decoration, ambiance and atmosphere. The drinks were delicious and strong which is nice. We had the Tequila martini. We started with the guacamole and it was alright. The Aguachiles were the starts of the show- the combination of passionfruit with the red snapper were definitely . The Elote Brûlèe was my favorite the combination of salty and sweet definitely you got to try this. My partner really enjoyed his red snapper main- the sauce reminded me of Mole. The whole menu takes you on a journey. As far of the service I expected a little more- the server didn't really explained the menu or suggest what are the starts of the menu but overall I would definitely recommend to try this restaurant. read more

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! I absolutely loved this place and I love that if I'd still under the radar. First off the ambiance, the decor, the lighting, the energy - 10/10! Phew! New the menu is interesting, very focused on shareable items but the food is flavorful and different. The service OUTSTANDING! The star of the show is the interior vibe. This place is truly grandiose. It has a speak easy vibe with incredibly high ceilings and warm decor. The food was also pretty fantastic. I ordered the chicken entree and was surprised at how flavorful it was. The manager also brought us the guacamole appetizer to try which was fab. The only opportunity for improvement is the service continuity. There was a person assisting our server who was excellent and the manager was kind and greeted us as well. Unfortunately I think our server was having a very off day and was complaining about the kitchen to our table. This made our experience a bit awkward as we felt like the kitchen could do no wrong with how satisfying our food was. Overall it was great and I'd recommend trying out this spot. The tables are too close together and service was rushed. We ordered 5-6 apps and the hot and cold came out at the same time, unprompted. This is an overdue review. Visited on a Monday evening last September. Restaurant was crowded, but we were seated promptly. Of the dishes we ordered, my favorite were the cocktail campechano (very tasty and refreshing), elote brulee (it's very sweet and rich so I only had a few bites), and truffle and guava machete (an unexpected pairing that I couldn't stop eating). Didn't really care for the filet albondigas (due to flavor and texture). The fresh guacamole was good, but wish it was paired with thinner chips. The lobster al pastor was tender and I appreciated how the lobster tail pieces were segmented, so it made it easier to eat -- but this dish didn't wow me. For dessert we had the dark chocolate masa torta and the jelly donut conchas (comes with three small ones). For the torta, the server poured on the chocolate sauce at the table. The cake wasn't too sweet, which I liked, but it was too dense and we weren't able to finish it. The conchas were tasty little bites. It was a solid meal overall. read more

This gorgeous new restaurant is a hit when it comes to food, drinks, and vibes! I couldn't resist starting off my meal with their classic margarita - basic I know, but they make a REALLY good one. To eat, my friend and I split a bunch of appetizers and sides since I'm vegetarian. Their side dishes are truly the star of the show. My favorite items of the evening were the Sweet Potatoes (perfectly crispy), the Brussels Sprouts (sauced perfectly), the Guac (has a little kick to it!), the Straight up Queso, and the Corn Brûlée. I also liked the Cauliflower Locos (think a giant head of cauliflower coated in Taki crumbs) - although my only suggestion would be for them to cook the cauliflower a bit more, as it was a tad undercooked in my opinion. For dessert, I highly recommend the Chocoflan Ice Cream Cake and the Chocolate Torte. I'd skip the Tres Leches, which was surprisingly my least favorite item of the evening read more

The room is stunning, certainly the best looking Mexican restaurant in the city (and likely well beyond). The service is truly outstanding. Cocktails are great too.
