Half of the tomahawk prime rib for two (Oaxacan pasilla rub, horseradish crema)
    Lailah J.

Manhattan, NY (near Hudson Yards) - Limusina is the latest offering from Quality Branded, the restaurant group whose portfolio includes Twin Tails, Bad Roman, Don Angie, Quality Meats, among others. It's an upscale contemporary Mexican restaurant whose plush & lush amber-hued modern Deco interiors remind me of the swaggy ambiance at Bad Roman and Twin Tails as well. We started with the black sea bass ceviche, bathed in a creamy, coconutty marinade; and the black truffle & guava jam machete, a sweet & savory long crepe shaped like its namesake blade, that's a fancier version of this unique street food. I enjoyed it and the flavors are nicely balanced, though it wasn't a showstopper for me (but impressive to look at), and the truffle flavor was faint. However it's inspired me to hunt down more of these skinny quesadillas in the city! For our main, we were torn between the short rib vs. the tomahawk prime rib for two, and ultimately went with the tomahawk for the greater novelty, as it's been a while since I've chomped into a juicy prime rib whereas short rib is readily available everywhere. And we are so glad we did! This is one of the finest prime ribs I've had in my life - beautifully marbled, tender, flavorful, and unimpaired by the knots of gristle and fat that can mar lesser cuts. It's marinated overnight in 44 spices, and is accompanied by an airy horseradish whipped cream, almost like a crème fraiche. I could honestly eat that cream by the spoonful. Utterly satisfying all around. I also loved the complimentary fried sweet potatoes brought to the table, which tasted like a better version of sweet plantain. Service was impeccable from top to bottom. An extra commendation goes to our waiter Nurney M. who really knew his way around the menu, answering all of our questions with fluency and expertise, and gave great recommendations based on our interests. We ate like such gluttons that we unfortunately left no room for dessert, so those jelly donut conchas will have to wait for next time!

This is definitely a HOT SPOT! The decor is beautiful. The people are beautiful. The food is beautiful. Celebrated a birthday here with a party of 6 and we were very well taken care of. The cocktails and apps came out quickly but the entrees took quite a while. We weren't too upset bc our server was entertaining and the vibe was vibing. It is loud but we weren't too upset able to hear each other. Thankfully, the food matched the vibe. We had a number of dishes but I think the standouts were the long bone short rib, the Pork Shank carnitas, the Fundido and the Sweet Potato bites. The Branzino was drowned in salsa verde - fresh and tasty but too much greenery. I'll be headed back for that Lechon Feast! The desserts were interesting ...

Excellent food, service, and ambiance! I was l looking for a decent option in Hudson Yards for dinner with friends and came across Limusina. Everything we ordered was delicious - short rib, branzino, cauliflower, yellowtail, elote, and corn ice cream (not pictured). It's on the pricier side but the hospitality makes it worth it - our server was attentive, made solid recommendations for drinks, and didn't rush us (or the table next to us who were there for longer). This is also a spacious restaurant so there is also enough room to go over to the bar and enjoy a drink if you're not eating dinner.

Wow wow wow Limusina was an amazing experience. We were greeted by friendly staff and waited near the bar for our table. The restaurant was crowded, but it was well worth the wait! My boyfriend found Limusina after searching and Googling, and I'm so happy he did! I'm still thinking about the beautiful, FUN atmosphere and the delicious food. I ordered the cilantro branzino. It was such a unique, fresh and flavor packed entree (paired with Brussels sprouts). I love Mexican food and limusina has a modern take on Mexican cuisine that's hard to find. This is the perfect spot for date night or a girls night out and I'll definitely be back!

Limusina offers a refined take on Mexican cuisine with bold, well-balanced flavors. The red snapper aguachile was bright and refreshing, while the short rib quesabirria stood out with a generous portion and incredibly tender meat. The filet albóndigas were hearty and comforting, executed beautifully. For dessert, the tres leches was good but leaned more toward an angel cake with custard rather than the traditional soaked style. The helado de maíz, however, was a highlight! It was creamy, nutty, and uniquely delicious. Overall, a great spot for elevated Mexican food with thoughtful dishes and satisfying portions. Definitely worth a visit

Wow this spot is a hidden gem and also super easy to get a reservation... for now. Limusina is really bringing some good eats to the Hudson Yards area :) When you first enter, you'll notice how big it is inside. It's super vibey, but definitely in the louder side. Here's what we ordered (a bunch of apps and small plates): - Guacamole (5/5): we loved the guac - it was so fresh and the tortilla chips it came with were so light and crispy!! - Yellowtail aguachile (5/5): the yellowtail was so fresh and the broth it was in was very cucumber forward and refreshing. The most refreshing dish of them all - Red snapper aguachile (5/5): this one was more bright and tangy, but still refreshing. I really loved the addition of the flavorful tomatoes and the pine nuts - these added a great texture - Sea bass ceviche (5/5): also amazing. A bit milkier but really thin and light, and the crunch of the coconut flakes on top was perfect - Bibb salad (4/5): loved the blood orange and corn. Wish there were a bit more though except it was mostly lettuce. very light though - Guava and truffle quesadilla (4.5/5): flavor is great mix of salty and sweet and overall really unique. the tortilla is also super thin and chewy. just wish it was served warm - Steak nachos (4.5/5): steak was so tender and flavorful, and the chips were light. the cheese was also delicious and surprisingly light. just need to eat quickly because it can get soggy, but portion was great. tasted like mini tacos - Brussels sprouts (4/5): very flavorful but slightly heavier because coated in oil. I really enjoyed this but it was really nothing special compared to brussels sprouts at other restaurants ps they give you prosecco to celebrate if it's your anniversary, so this is a great spot to celebrate something!

Went for a business lunch and it was very empty surprisingly. Just couple other tables. The service was really good but it was a bit slow. The food took forever to come out. The flavors however, were outstanding. We got the guac, it was absolutely delicious. For my main, got the salad, which was visually beautiful. The taste was even better. I got it with the grilled chicken. I would love to come back because the place is beautifully decorated and seems fun for drinks.

Yellowtail aguachile, lobster & montauk corn solteros, and black truffle & guava jam quesadilla

What a perfect place to celebrate my friend's birthday at this beautiful upscale Mexican restaurant. The ambiance speaks for itself, excellent service, and mouthwatering food. Cocktails were tasty, everyone enjoyed their drinks. The standout dishes for me were the black truffle and guava jam quesadilla, this is literally to die for we had to order 2. The pork belly chicharron, queso fundido, and the steak suadero solteros is also a must order. The whole red snapper was huge and definitely worth ordering especially for large groups. My least favorites were the tajin caesar salad, it was pretty spicy for me and the lobster & montauk corn solteros lacked some flavor. The desserts were all very good, I really enjoyed the churritos and chocoflan ice cream cake. I would have loved to also tried the tres leches dessert next time I visit. Definitely coming back!

**5/5 - A must-visit modern Mexican spot** From the moment we walked into Limusina, the space felt incredible, a sprawling, beautifully designed modern Mexican restaurant near Hudson Yards with gorgeous details everywhere you look. The ambience is warm and lively without being overwhelming, and the decor makes it feel special the second you walk in. Limusina's menu is all about Mexican classics with a creative twist, from upscale ceviches and aguachiles to playful small plates like truffle machete quesadillas, pork belly chicharrón, and over-the-top elote brûlée. Every item we ordered was better than the last, and you can really taste how much attention they put into balancing bold flavors and textures. The staff were outstanding from start to finish, and our waiter in particular Matt K made the experience feel so thoughtful and seamless. Matt K was truly the star of our night and made the experience feel even more special. We couldn't decide between the churro bites and the cheesecake for dessert, and not only did he help talk us through both options, but to our surprise he also sent us home with a complimentary slice of cheesecake to go, which was such a thoughtful touch. That small gesture summed up how genuinely kind and attentive the service was and is a big reason this felt like such a memorable meal. In a city full of incredible places to eat, Limusina truly stands out as a must-visit and is absolutely somewhere I'd go back to again and again.

Well hidden but with a huge inside, this restaurant serves a range of Mexican style food, in an upscale way. It hosts small groups as well as some larger corporate groups especially during the week. The food is good and well portioned, nothing amazing but will be a solid meal. Service is friendly and prompt. Main downside is the music is being blasted aggressively loudly, making ti difficult to talk to anybody not sitting right next to you.

Wow. Honestly incredible from start to finish. The food was amazing, the portions were huge, it was worth every penny. We got the Fundido, La Piñata, Lobster Al Pastor, Steak Barbacoa Nachos, and Long-Bone Short Rib Quesabirria. It was all super tasty and the decor is really nice. Highly recommend and would comeback here next time I visit NYC for sure.

If you've been to Zou Zou's you'll immediately see a resemblance when you walk into Limusina. The decor is just as beautiful and gorgeous as Zou zou's. Went on a Sunday night and it was quite chill and relaxing. Walked in with no reservation and was seated right away. Food was delicious - the serano guacamole was one of the best I've had. Branzino was on point and you can taste the freshness. Tres leches was def interesting. No complaints with our dishes. Waiter checked in on us but not as frequent as the waitress at Zou zou's. Curious to try other items from the menu.

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

Easy to find if you know what you're looking for, if you arrive right at 5pm on a cold weeknight in the winter, you'll easily find a table or seat at the bar. Very cute space, cozy like everyone says, but nothing mind blowing. Music is moderately loud. The menu in early February still included their winter holiday cocktails. I was more interested in the apple sage house-made fermented soda, and it was pretty good-large glass, flavorful and not too sweet. My friend enjoyed her pomegranate version. The space started to fill up at around 5:30. Service was polite when you could get it, but generally very inattentive, even before it got busy. It honestly didn't feel too different from anu other very nice NYC bar, in terms of menu selection, prices, ambiance and service. Maybe that's standard for NYC speakeasies, but the places I frequented in other cities were more fun and felt more worth the price. I'll still give another NYC spot a try, but not coming back to Thyme.

It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered.
