So many complaints about the "new normal" for food you get out so I'm not going to belabor the point. But I've been going to quality for over 15 years. Used to brag about their Italians. Today I get this for $10 some turkey on a hot dog bun. Quality? No more

This is my go to spot. I'm here a few times a week without fail. Why? It may be my love of large ham Italians, or their fabulous wine selection (see picture). Whether you're in need of a quick snack or an entire meal, Quality has you covered. Quality makes my mornings easier, with Green Mountain Coffee and breakfast sandwiches ready to go. Even though this is a hot spot in the morning (pretty much all mealtimes for that matter), Quality is equipped to handle the high traffic. They get you in and out in no time. The lunchtime rush is a breeze! Burgers, fries, sandwiches, salads, you name it, Quality has you covered. In my opinion, they have one of the best Italians in town, and their crinkle cut fries aren't bad either! I love this place. There's only one thing that could make it better....PLEASE GET RID OF THE CALORIE INFORMATION. When I'm about to down a bottle of wine with a large fry and an Italian, I don't want to know! Let me live in my delicious, wine filled, ignorant bliss.

I definitely enjoy the pizza, for the price it's worth it. The breakfast sandwiches are kinda crappy though. The eggs are over cooked and they don't use but a scrap of bacon on them. Beer and wine and an assortment of food and household supplies make it a great little shop. The guy with the purple hair definitely makes me uncomfortable. He seems to be barely holding back his rage that he has to deal with customers and always mutters some nasty little remark under his breath as I'm leaving. He may think I can't hear him but I do... so if I see him at the register I will usually skip it. ( I work and live nearby so it's a convenient stop to pick up chips and beer amongst other things) Every other employee is great.

This place is amazing. I came for lunch, and it was so amazing, I had to come back later that day for dinner. This is a simple store which sells items you'd find at a nice gas station, including a wide variety of coffee, alcohol, wine, drinks, and snacks. But the real treat here is the grilled food. The food is simple, yet well-done and made-to-order (they also have pre-made food if you're in a hurry). Quality Shop has TONS of grilled food. Thank to the friends I came with, I was able to try a poorboy, burger, fries, and pizza, and they're all very tasty (they also have healthier options like salads and grilled chicken wraps if that's your style). But best of all, the prices here cannot be beat. My friends and I came on a Sunday, which happens to be their 2 for 1 deal on 10-inch pizzas. I also enjoyed the friendly staff during my visits here. The lady at the grill made some recommendations for my first visit, and the other staff members were a pleasure to talk to while we waited for our food. Long story short, if you're looking for inexpensive yet tasty food served by great people, look no further and come to Quality Shop right away! I'll be back soon, to attempt a conquering of the HUGE peanut butter cookie whoopie pie.

Get place for a solid lunch or dinner. The premade sandwiches for the price are a great deal. They always have special too.

Perfect for a date night! Our server, Hannah, was great. She suggested an excellent bottle of wine that complimented all of our dishes. Customer service was a solid 10/5! This is a place to definitely add to your Portland dining list! To start, all of the dishes were wonderful portions and could easily be shared between two people. Which I absolutely love because I enjoy trying as many things as I possibly can! Arancini: This was a great starter. Absolutely delicious. I have yet to meet an arancini that I don't love. 5/5. Caesar Salad: A perfect dish that is light and necessary before getting into a heavy entree. The salad was crisp, delicious, very fresh, and a must order. 5/5. Scallop Risotto: This was a large position that had scallops in every bite! It wasn't too heavy, was not too salty, and you could taste the freshness in the ingredients. Dessert is not pictured, but it is worth ordering! The entire dessert menu was excellent!

My daughter had been wanting to go to Via Vecchia for a while but couldn't afford it on a college student's income. So we went during my visit. My hopes were high as we walked in--a beautiful glass enclosure at the entrance that was draped with ceiling to floor ivy; an intimate but lively atmosphere; and an offering of creative cocktails...my enthusiasm quickly vanished when our appetizers arrived. We ordered the focaccia, grilled octopus, and Caesar salad. The focaccia was soggy and flavorless. Even the olive oil that accompanied the bread was flavorless. The grilled octopus was another disappointment--there were more cloves of garlic than pieces of octopus. And what little octopus was there, a third of it was charred to black. Thankfully, the Caesar salad was fresh and fairly tasty. Ironically the focaccia croutons were the highlight of the salad. Then the entrees arrived--chicken Marsala and a spicy shrimp pasta in cream sauce (can't remember the name of the dish). My daughter liked the second dish enjoying the slight kick of whatever pepper/spice was used in the recipe. For me, it was just okay. The biggest disappointment however was the chicken Marsala--the gnocchi was overcooked, the entire dish itself was too salty, and the chicken--overcooked in some parts and fairly tender in others--tasted like it came out of a can. Quite honestly, I don't know what all the hype is about. This restaurant is mediocre at best. Perhaps the cocktails numb everyone's tastebuds to the overly salty but otherwise bland dishes. It was not worth the money and I would never go again. If this is the best that Portland has to offer by way of fine Italian dining, I'd say it's time Portland redefined the meaning of "fine".

With an 8pm reservation for Wednesday, we were seated promptly at 7:50pm. This lovely restaurant has a young, welcoming vibe. It's a mix of high-end dining (Italian) with a somewhat casual atmosphere (blue jeans). If you seek a formal "suit and tie" dining establishment, Leeward is not ideal. Although it is pricey, Leeward has many pluses. First, the service here is outstanding. Second, the wood floors, cork decorated walls, open space, and candles provide a nice ambience. Third, the food is delicious and ideal for sharing appetizers. We ordered several items, including focaccia (the olive oil is wonderful), and the Maine Bluefin Tuna Carpaccio (our favorite!). The Gnocchi Fritto with prosciutto is a must-order appetizer for groups. We then each ordered a pasta dish. I devoured the tagliatelle, which had fava beans. My wife enjoyed the radiatore (with pine nuts). My sons both ordered the rigatoni (but one disliked the heavy Bolognese sauce). Glad we were able to enjoy a celebratory dinner in Portland! Leeward contributes to the strong "foodie" reputation of the city.

It's unique and it's simple -- but the flavors created are something to keep coming back for. In my most recent visit, we had a pretty bad experience leading up to the pizzas actually being served. We had some friends visiting and decided to go to grab pizza after sending a small group back to the mainland on the 6 o'clock boat. Our order must have been placed maybe 5 or 10 minutes after 6... we weren't served our first pizza until after 8 PM. And our second pizza lagged behind that one by nearly 10 minutes. I can understand how, taken out of context, this can be seen as a petty complaint. However, it really was a discouraging experience because we had multiple (at least half a dozen) other groups order well after us and enjoy their entire dining experience all around us. The group ordering behind us enjoyed their pizzas, bottles of wine and chit chatted for nearly a half hour after their indulgences... and still rode off in their golf cart before our pizzas even made it into the oven. The part that really baffled me was that we took the opportunity to speak with the staff about what was causing the delay -- simply asking if our pizza order had been started or not yet and the explanation was "our team has made several mistakes this evening and we don't have a good estimate on how long it'll take for your pizzas to be ready". We got the same explanation after waiting for 45 minutes and again after nearly an hour and a half. It seemed like a pretty inadequate answer when their wood-fired oven was often not full of cooking pizzas and their entire staff was dancing to the music playing on their speakers. In the end... the pizza was good (same quality as expected). But my experience left something to be seriously desired.

My friend and I decided to split a pizza and it was a good sharing size. We got the burrata and it was delicious! The sauce was flavorful and the burrata was perfect.
