We booked our reservation through the Quality website, not a "Third Party" website. We called the morning of our arrival to confirm our very late arrival, and ensure we would have a room. Our flight was delayed over two hours, making our arrival to the hotel well after midnight. NO ROOM!!! After many phone calls, from the Quality Suites parking lot, we found a room 30 minutes away at two and a half times the price!! A phone conversation with self claimed Manager "Alex" the next morning was summarized as "it was due to third party bookings, beyond our control". No answer for why our attempt to verify and confirm our reservation the day of our attempted checkin was functionally ignored. As for the remaining two days of our initial reservation, "Alex" promised us a room at an insulting 10% discount ($11 for having to wander around OR for two hours to find a hotel after CONFIRMING our RESERVATION??? This lodging option is probably a candidate for investigation by the Consumer Fraud Division of the Oregon Attorney General's Office. Beyond that, it is sad proof that the quality control function of this chain of franchised motels is simply not working. First, this is branded as a "Quality Suite' type of hotel. A "suite" must, by simple definition, have more than one room. This is a single room, slightly longer than a normal motel room, with a half-wall partition. Fraudulent claims aside, the point of hiring a Suite is that multiple occupants can accomplish several different objective comfortably. But not here. As for "quality", this hotel avoids common worries about stained bedspreads by avoiding the use of bedspreads altogether. Fixtures are dated, paint is peeling and the ceiling exhaust fan in the bathroom is the loudest I've ever heard. And, though technically not the fault of management or the chain, the occupant of the room across from me was invited loudly at 2:15am to become a guest of the county following a taser threat and Miranda warning. read more

First of all, we booked two rooms and one was over an hour late. We booked about a week prior. Walking down the stairs, there was a cigarette on the staircase. There was also stains on the carpets. We left, came back about an hour or two later, and we turn on the air conditioner tons of ants. There were no other rooms and we are disappointed. I love a good hotel that has breakfast! And not just a bag of bagels, a toaster that hasn't been cleaned in 2 years and frozen cream cheese lying out. Oh and some granola bars maybe... No! This place had it all! Cereals, oatmeal, yogurts, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles... I'm sure I am missing something. Oh! And hot coffee, tea. So that was a huge plus and they get points in that area. I took off some points because, well, my cousin found a sock in her bed on our first night there which means they didn't change the sheets. My deducting points are all on housekeeping... Other than that, the front staff was friendly! We made good use of the pool (I suggest the pool stay open later?) and breakfast :) It was conveniently close to a lot of stores in the area and it was close to our family whom we were visiting on this trip. And there is free wi-fi, always a good way to win me over. However, I am mixed on recommending Quality Suites. If they can do something to keep a closer eye on housekeeping, I would recommend. But if not changing the sheets is the norm around here, I would have to say go somewhere else... (The next few days we made sure we were in the room when they came so we could see they changed the sheets). read more

My mom called to make a reservation, she didn't understand what the guy was explaining to her so she asked me to help understand. When passing the phone over to me.. we hear the guy says "are you kidding?!" He was rude and dismissive. We are now not looking forward to our upcoming stay. Very disappointed with his hospitality. Last weekend I had a last minute change in where I was staying. I made a call to Quality Inn and they were super helpful in helping me make my reservation at a decent rate! I spoke with Stephanie on the phone and she was so helpful to tell the gal coming in after her that I would be coming, so they saved me a room. Upon arrival, I was extremely exhausted and suffering from back pain. Vanessa, who was the manager at the des, went out of her way to help me get settled in for the evening by helping me with my bags to my room. She went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of, even so far as to move her car so that I could park near the door, since the nearest handicapped spots were all taken! I've stayed in many hotels over the years, and this was mind blowing to me and epic customer service! My room was perfect. Though some would complain at the sheer size of it, I was more than happy. It had a very comfortable king size bed, the room was conveniently located next to the elevator, the bathroom was clean, towels fresh, a desk and chair to make my study time conducive for homework, free wifi, and free breakfast in the morning. There was also a tv, but I never got around to using it. There was a fridge, microwave, hair dryer in bathroom, alarm clock, plenty of convenient plug ins throughout the room, and the a/c worked great! Breakfast in the morning was great! For it being free, it was way more than I anticipated. There were pastries, eggs, biscuits & sausage gravy, sausage links, a waffle maker, cereals, milk, juices, coffee, water, and fruit. I had a quick bite the next morning before diving into my course work. I needed to extend my stay at the last minute for an extra day, and they were more than helpful to grant me the same room at a decent rate. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit friends in the area! I highly recommend this hotel for the Keizer area, and local surrounding cities. read more

Great value! We were impressed by the value of the price we paid. We were expecting motel 6 quality as we've paid around the same price or more sometimes for a "basic room". I am appalled at our suite..... It's dirty, the carpet is stained, it reeks of pet urine and hall outside our room by the back door is ripe with Mary Jane smoke .... Maybe we got a really bad room? Trim pieces missing off the walls.... For about $120 a night, this is absurd. We'd leave and find a nicer place in Salem if we could but our rooms are non - refundable. We stayed here when it was the Wittenberg and it was so much better..... Buyer beware.... Not worth the money... Our room was a $70 a night room, tops. Not to mention the girl who checked us in was rude and very unwelcoming. And don't get me started on the disgusting condition of the pool and hot tub.... Reserved more than 3 weeks in advance. On check-in, paid reservation bumped with this explanation: "We have a long-time guest who spends a lot of money here. Had to give him your room." Having been "guaranteed" adjourning rooms, were forced to use rooms that were substandard and separate from our children. On escalation, told that "the manager isn't in until Monday." I traveled from New York City that day while my family drove from California. Due to local "Iris Festival" no other hotels were available. The rooms we inspected were all very humid, dirty, poorly equipped, and outdated. For example, the box spring and mattresses were set directly on the floor, without a bed frame to support, which makes for an extremely awkward, unappealing appearance. The sofa was badly stained, appearing to have been cleaned using the wrong chemicals - resulting in a very low class, disgusting appearance (we had to have housekeeping bring us a blanket to cover it up). Also, the room we used had dried food splattered on the wall and ceiling. Hotel is victim to years of layered upgrades leaving a disjointed feeling. Feels neglected, with a staff not equipped to maintain. Breakfast was predictable and boring. The air is stale, with odor of cleaning product and mildew. We were able to open our hotel window about 8", which helped. Very happy to check out and leave this hotel. We hate this hotel (yes, using the word "hate" here) and we will NEVER return as guests. I have never had such a horrible experience as I did at this place. Bad customer service! We checked... Connie was saying racist remarks about a Hispanic customer. We went to bed and woke up early to go fishing with the kids and grand kids and decided we would stay another night because we were going to be back late. They said we were never checked in the night before. We fixed that with the person working but it took forever, he was giving us every excuse of why are card was charged but we were never checked in... we checked out on Sunday and looked at our charges on Thursday... they had made 4 different charges on our card.... we called and asked to speak to a manager who didn't handle it much better.... don't trust this location our the people working there!!! read more

I needed to come to Keizer to deal with some matters related to my father's estate. I've stayed at Choice Hotels many times. I am a Choice Hotels rewards club member. I stayed in one of their king suites for two nights. I can not recommend this hotel to anyone. Reasons for poor recommendation: It is dirty. Carpet in my room clearly had not been vacuumed. There was dog hair on the carpet; a piece of trash on the floor; the carpet near the sinks had what appeared to blood stains; cushion on couch had a bluish stain; bathroom fixtures were not clean; tub drain was rusted; mold and mildew on bathroom floors; lamp shade next to bed was badly stained. It is unsafe. There was an electrical outlet without a cover - it had fallen off and was laying under a table. This presented a risk of electrocution, especially for a child. Two other electrical outlets did not have their junction boxes secured.The phone in the room did not work. Hotel staff had oddly placed a small notepad and pen on the face of the phone - which obscured the fact the phone didn't work. The shower curtain rod in the bathroom was very loose and almost ready to fall off. It was uncomfortable. The bed was short sheeted. They apparently didn't have king size top sheets or comforters so they put queen size sheets and a comforter on sideways. The covers didn't go over my shoulders (I'm 5'5"). The bed was very saggy. The comforter was very, very lumpy - a big blob of down(?) in the middle with nothing surrounding it. I asked after my first night for my room to be serviced and that didn't happen. I could go on. It was expensive. About $115 per night including taxes. Completed a customer service review I received from them in which I detailed these concerns. Got a reply email from the hotel with a "we're sorry you had a bad experience, please come again so we can do better" message. That's not going to happen. read more

I stayed here last week during my trip in Oregon, and it was below average. The facility itself was pretty clean, but there definitely could be some upgrades such as the carpet. However, I docked off another star because of the breakfast. The room itself was pretty big; the couch and desk area was separated from the sleeping area, which was nice. The bathroom was standard, and it was nice to have two sinks on the outside of the bathroom so that you could still get rid ready while someone was using the bathroom. However, the air conditioning was slightly bipolar. It was pretty warm, so we turned it down, but then, in the middle of the night, it would get really cold. It just kept on going back and forth between warm and cold and would not keep a constant temperature that was comfortable. Breakfast is complimentary, but it definitely needs some work. There's a very limited selection; the only hot food selection are eggs, sausage and gravy. The muffins didn't look too appetizing either; they looked like muffins from Safeway that had been sitting there for a little too long. I decided to give the waffle machine a try, and I think it was slightly broken, so my waffle didn't come out as nicely. Also, the batter wasn't very flavorful. It was super bland; I wish it had a more buttery taste and crispier. I also wish that there was a wider selection of fruit. The selection isn't bad because it's complimentary, but I would expect a little more quality in the food because the eggs and sausages did not look appetizing at all either. I have stayed at 5 star hotels and never had that service. Clean comfortable beds. Breakfast was comparable to other chains that provide this amenity with several hot options. Unprofessional, disorganized, shifty. I had to call 5 separate times to attempt to resolve a reservation issue. Each time I was told that the manager would get back to me right away. The manager never did get back to me. Clearly, the management just doesn't care. Read the fine print on your reservation emails. Despite telling you that there is a 24 hour cancellation policy on the phone when you make your reservation, they do not honor that 24 hour cancellation policy if you reserve a room as part of a group block. If you reserve a room that is part of a group block there is a 72 hour cancellation window. This is not explained ahead of time, but I have found out too late, is written as a single small line embedded deep within the reservation. It is not in the reservation email that they send you, but something you can only find out about if you log in to view your full reservation. They certainly will not tell you when you make the reservation. I was charged $100 for an unused room and was forced to waste about 2 hours on the phone. Really frustrating. read more

Comforter and bedding were clean. All white that tells me they have to wash it after every guest. Color comforters, I do not know, idonot like them. Room is far to need attention. It is a little outdated, but decent Furniture is in fair condition. There is not a single picture frame or accent on the walls. Really plain and appealing. What really shows is poor maintenance and lack of attention to detail. I do not know if quality Inn inspects franchises for consistency. Another couple of examples: Room has a microwave sitting on top of fridge which is fine, but it is not plugged to the outlet. In order to power the microwave you need to lift it and move it to closest outlet The nightstand is set sideways because the headboard is set too much to the left. Lamp is not plugged to an outlet. Looks tacky and for a guests shows that there is no interest for the guest It has an indoor swimming pool nothing extraordinary. The hallway had a humidity smell. Not sure if it was because of the guest laundry. If that the case. They should improve ventilation Hotel offers deluxe continental breakfast. Wafers, eggs, link sausages, gravy. Bread, muffins, pastry, cereals, juices, coffee and tea. Breakfast was fair nothing memorable. Breakfast area is very spacious and with lots of seating area. And in good condition. Good value for the cost. Hotel was a little worn around the edges but clean. We traveled with two (boys 6 and 3), nice enough to enjoy but not overly worry about kid use. The free breakfast was a 5* - food was plentiful and the dining room staffed kept things well stocked and clean. Laundry facilty comes in handy, could use another elevator at the end of hall. Rooms was very big and comfortable. Located in a Quiet neighborhood, you rarely hear any noise. This place is disgusting. We stayed here because it was the only hotel in Keizer when we were visiting and next time we will drive the few miles to Salem. The rooms are nasty, everything is breaking, I took the kids to the pool and I'm thankful we didn't get the plague or something. It's so run down, tiles falling from the ceiling, over chlorinated so your lungs burn... the staff was friendly but not really helpful when we had issues with our sink that wouldn't turn off. Non working clock that never moves from 1;10. Calls office on cell they left me on hold 20 minutes. Carpet molding coming off walls not glued back on. Plaster missing off walls no repairs. Hallway carpet filthy as well. Asked for tray to take breakfast to my room. Response nobody brought them back. Really. You can't have the maids return them to the kitchen. They have had such a high turnover at this motel. It is more and more disappointing each time I stay. All the friendly managers and staff were replaced by people who don't know what they are doing, and they have a new general manager that is the most fake, pathetic, disgusting woman I have ever met. Treated me like a child when I suggested they fix some of the dangerous nails sticking out of things in the rooms and even in the lobby, and rolling carpet in the hallways. This hotel isn't the worst we've stayed at but it is definitely odd. The weirdness begins even before you check in. 1. You are billed for the first night the DAY BEFORE you arrive 2. We stayed only two nights and we're billed for the second night's stay the first night we were there. 3. Your card is charged $25, allegedly for the owners to "protect themselves" from dirt bags who try to stiff them. But since they have already charged me for my first night's stay one day before I arrived, why the $25 charge? Very dodgy business practice. When I asked to have the charge removed (since obviously my card was fine) the staff member told me "we can't do anything, it's the owners." That comment was given to me several times, so obviously there's something about the owners that isn't right. 4., The staff was all super-friendly. But you are asked to sign a lot of disclaimers before you check in. The owners are clearly cheap who not only don't trust their guests but also make sure they take every opportunity to impose some kind of fee. Nothing like maximizing profits while alienating your guests. OK, now that the initial gripe is out of the way, let's talk about the hotel itself. The lobby is nice and inviting, but step inside the halls and the story changes. The carpet needs to be replaced throughout. There are some deep oily stains all over the place. Some big, some small, but it's just dingy looking and needs to go. The "ice machine" is nothing more than a plastic cart in the isle that's open to all. Gone is the idea of "fresh ice" straight from the machine. The massive, wheeled ice-bucket screamed out to me "oh you want some ice? Dig in and like it!" From a health and safety point of view this looks like a lawsuit waiting to happen. Anyone could tamper with the ice. It's wide open and not secured. Why are there AC wall units in the halls to cool them down? So strange... I used the guest bathroom in the men's bathroom on the first floor. The urinal was nasty and the toilet (I didn't check all of them, there are three) was funk-a-delic as well. I guess they figure this is the toilet the staff will use so why bother to keep them clean? They did not have a garbage can outside the halls so people were piling up their garbage right outside the door. So in-your-face ghetto and gross. They did pick it up the next day, only to have a new pile take its place. How expensive are garbage cans? The shrubbery is in need of maintenance. There were weeds embedded with the ornamental vetch. We brought our dogs and were told we had to potty them in the "Designated Relief Area" (gotta love that phrase). Cute phrase, but nowhere could we find that area. We had to ad-lib. Yes, we do pick up after our dogs. I haven't even gotten to the rooms yet... Ah yes, the rooms. We got a double-queen room and there is some bizarre partition between the beds. I've never seen that "feature" before. Note to owners, "Tear DOWN the walls!" Furniture is beat up and dingy. And the chairs in the room had we smeared with a repulsive blend of oil/grease and something liquidy. I've included pictures for your viewing pleasure. Oddly we had two mini-fridges in the room. There was a pathetic, cheap microwave stood atop one of the fridges. It was big enough to heat up a Big Mac. There is a freaky double sink IN the room, not in the bathroom. There is an open area to hang your cloths with a cheap, tattered and creeking ironing board hanging up. And what sub-standard hotel would be complete without an AC that is so noisy it keeps you up all night? Check. Dirty, nasty carpet? Check. Tissue dispenser had all of 10 sheets. They were not replenished the next day during housekeeping rounds. One of the beds was comfy, the other was lopsided. Pillows were lumpy. Bedding "appeared" to be clean. I didn't take a close look for fear of what I might find. I think when they cleaned our room the next day they used the same sheets and made the bed with the same sheets. Wi-Fi was an absolute joke. The signal kept dropping and timing out so that when it comes back on line you have to go through the hotel portal again to re-activate it. There were no instructions on how to connect to the WiFi either. Breakfast? Not the worst I've had. They had eggs and sausages. Not too bad, but no flavor at all. The coffee was tasteless. The OJ was orange water. The pastries were pasty and flavorless like everything else. But on the whole, it kept hunger at bay and I was glad they offered something. It's a shame that they are letting this hotel run down. It actually wouldn't take a huge about of work to clean it up and make a really nice place. It's also a shame because it's a nice location. There are plenty or restaurants on River Rd. You're close to Salem, McMinnville, I5 etc. So much lost potential! We won't be staying there again and I would not recommend it until the owners or the chain itself get their acts together. read more

Turns out, they did not block the rooms even though we had a confirmation number and everything. Will never, ever stay here!
