I had an issue with my power steering pump . Left em my car mid week. They claimed they could handle it. I told rep I needed car back end of day Monday. Money wasn't an issue and just fix it. Monday came upon landing back in town I received a call thinking the repairs were done. Wrong. It was to give me an estimate and work would be done next day. Cool. Next day pick up car. Got home found power steering fluid on drive way. Found a hose was broken after repairs. Smh. Returned and informed shop of issues. States I would face to leave car. Shop has a wait of 30 plus cars and could not make reservation. Service requested not resolved. For the price paid should not have any issues. Could not even top off fluids upon returning. One was pressure hose and reservoir lines needed replacing. Would not return or recommend this shop. read more

Please - do not use this shop. I brought my car here, on a recommendation from my regular mechanic due to transmission warning lights on my car. We had the car towed to the shop on January 5. Communication was lacking and after several calls, conversations, we got the car back on January 21. The check engine light and transmissions lights went on again on January 30th. (the previous week I was out of town on a work trip and the car was not driven.) We brought the car to the dealer, and they looked into the issues. They found amongst other things: 1. Transmission fluid leaking from multiple spots 2. Engine mounts unplugged 3. Missing battery car cover 4. Wire clips mangled or left loose. We called Franco and dropped the car off on February 1. We did not get the car back until February 14th! The weekend of Feb 11th, prior to getting the car back, we decided to buy a new car, and found one and planned on trading in the car on the 14th. WE picked it up at 8am and I drove to work and to the dealer, after 28 miles of leaving the shop, the same darn problem!! Lights all go off, and D flashes. I called Franco and he said to bring it back, but I was trading it in in 20 minutes! Franco kept saying to bring in the car, but I had already spent 1600 on rental cars, due to them having the car for so long, I just wanted to get rid of the car, I completely regret using this shop. If they had been upfront, and said i needed a new transmission, instead of rebuild, we would had made a different decision. I did call my regular mechanic and advised him to no longer recommend this place. We have tried to work with the shop afterwards, but they are not communicating. read more

Horrible service guys, never do business with them very unprofessional. Took my truck in to get my transmission repaired November 02 they quoted me and charged me 1800$ at first. Then after a day or two I get a call requesting more money because it required new parts so the joke came out to a total of 2,900$!! I agreed couldn't afford a car note and decided to pay. I received my truck on Nov 13 and asked for my receipt for my warranty said the machine was down told me to come in the next morning for it, seemed odd but was glad my truck was "fixed" so i thought! Same day driving back home the truck shuts down on me in the middle of the express way with my son in the vehicle! I give them a call told me to bring the truck back in made it to their shop miraculously! A week flew by no answer or fix on my truck so I decided and tried to communicate with the owner Michelangelo Burdie Called a few different shops he has left my number and message and never heard from him. Advised Mario and Alex I would talk to the owner and immediately they pleaded me not to I have messages and audio recordings of them pretty much saying they tried doing the job under the table. I finally was able to talk to the owner Michelangelo and told him what was going on and said he wouldn't give me a refund on my money Because according to him he took it to the dealer and they tried charging him to get it fixed and he wasn't going to do that and blamed the dealer when I myself took it to his shop and not the dealer to get it fixed. Mike and his crew are up front about the work being done and are very trustworthy, they are a honorable business.

This shop, at 6144 W. Irving Pk, may have been good at one time but their Quality Work and Responsiveness has certainly taken a nose dive in recent years. I brought in my vehicle on November 14 of 2021. Mike, the owner, told me they had a 2 week wait to do the work. But that was not true. It took them 2-weeks to send me an estimate and 4 additional weeks to do the work. Picked up my car in January 2022, drove it for a couple of weeks and noticed exactly the same issues with the transmission as when I first took it in. I brought the car back in mid- January; Franco, the manager, said he'd call back at the end of the day with an update and of course did not. So here we go again. Their communication has been really bad during the two months I 've been dealing with them. They never have work done when they say and won't call you. You have to hound them constantly for an update and it's very difficult to do business with them. Their price was almost $3,000 for a transmission rebuild, which is about average. No Great Prices, No Professional Service, No Quality Workmanship as those old reviews state. Which makes me wonder if some may be fake. Their business place is old, dirty and dingy. sitting area only for 2 people. Chairs are adjacent to the door so its drafty and any body walking in can step on your toes. They have a bunch of (40-50) cars out in their lot waiting to be serviced, which is a good indicator that it can take a months to get your transmission work done. I ended up taking the car back to their shop 4 times, for a total of 3 1/2 months of them working on it to fix it right. Since I am an Uber Driver, I Lost 3-5 days of work each time I brought the car with the exception of the first time which took 6 weeks for them to get to it. A total nightmare. Ended up having to buy a new car, while the vehicle was still being fixed, the last time I brought it back in late February took them another 4 days to finally get it done right. They have another location on Addison which may or may not be any better; it's a chance you'll have to take. But this place on Irving Park REALLY STINKS. read more

I came here about three years ago(!) and couldn't have been happier. These guys were wonderful. I was coming in from the suburbs and they were the only place in the city that would honor my warranty. Although they got crap from the people who were supposed to support the fact that I obtained a warranty (i.e. get payment from them? not sure) they worked with me to get what I needed. I'd just moved to Chicagoland and was SO thankful how they treated me as an unsuspecting woman and how little they charged me for things that weren't under the warranty. Nice people, great work. My vehicle a 1999 Mazda b3000, 3.0 ,automatic 4r442 transmission.Initially took my transmission to Tinos transmission,Wrighwood & Laramie in the city. They actually use quality to do the rebuilding, it is strictly a mechanic shop, that will pull out & reinstall the transmission. * On both Tinos & Quality be patient, and on a positive note; Quality transmission does honor there 2 year /24k mile warranty. On my first go around Memeorial day 2019 , they had my vehicle 10 to 12 days it was a holiday week. They did not get it rite, installed transmission, * gear selector was between gears, and after I had it a week after the first wait, it was slipping. I eventually went to Quality transmission who actually did the work,I had logged 18 slips,it was pronounced,note here** this is a well documented occurrence on this Ford transmission, a Mazda b3000 is a re-badged Ford Ranger, the entire drive train is 100% Ford ,they were partners back in the day. ** 7/03/2019 Took my vehicle back to Quality transmission,initially dealt with Sal,shop manger also owner Mike,and his son. [aprox 6300 W , Irving park,across from the church,St.Pascal.] They took out my transmission,sent it to there rebuild shop on Addison in Chicago, told me it needed a new EPC solenoid,it regulates the fluid pressure in transmission, they went thru my transmission thoroughly,again owner Mike who recently went thru some medical procedures,had all calls forwarded to him after hours.,[ a die hard business man!!! Got my car back,7/16/2019,it is shifting great,had it on the highway,drove from Lombard to Oak Park, ** it's running like a champ.**No charge all covered under warranty. 2 year / 24k. But with both visits they had my truck for 26 days, two sessions to get it done correctly. Gave this shop a try since it was close to a familiar neighborhood and from the Yelp reviews. I wasn't disappointed. Brought our 10 year old Toyota Sienna for a transmission assessment because it was making a grinding noise when accelerating, even though no CEL was on. Took a bit longer than expected since Mike wasn't satisfied with it unless it was up to standards; but it was fixed and it runs great. 12 month warranty included so I've got peace of mind. Started looking at shops around Chicago for a rebuild, every single one I went to was over priced. They gave me the best deal in the area. Don't let the name fool you...they don't just do transmissions. Brakes, yes, rear bearings, yes, rack and pinion, yes! It's hard to find honest mechanics, but I think I got it right with Mike and Frank. Can't handle dealership costs, but Quality seems to be reasonable with their prices. Two things helped solidify my choice with them. The first was when the lil lady hit a pot hole and there was a terrible noise which I thought was the brakes...I told them what I thought it was fully expecting some major repair...when they called me to tell me the problem, it was only a muffler bracket which they replaced at a minimal cost. The second was when I was getting some major repairs. While the repairs went fine it was the customer service that I got that will bring me back. I had forgotten the baby car seat in the car and they had taken the car to another place to do the wheel alignment. The car wasn't going to be ready until the next day, and Frank told me he would go get the car seat and wait until I got back to the shop so that I could put it in the other car. He wanted to make sure my daughter was safe was his exact quote. Now he didn't have to do this but going above and beyond what I expected goes a long way in my book. One more thing is that they honor their warranties. We got our brakes fixed and a little while later, there was some noise. They resurfaced the rotors at no additional cost and now no more noise. In closing if you want an honest and reasonable shop for repairs, check Quality out, I don't think you will be disappointed. As good as it gets... My Acura MDX transmission was having problems. The dealer said $6,000 to replace... Then they said $3,000 for a rebuilt.. I searched for an alternative and Quality rose to the top. I brought the car, they diagnosed that the transmission needed to be rebuilt. I was comfortable with the quote they gave me. The repaired the transmission beyond my expectations. It took longer than what they estimated, but I was more interested in them taking the time and doing it right. Update.. After writing the review I got a call from the place that my car will be ready Monday. I went to pick it up on Tuesday Morning. So met Sal and Mike(Owner) for the first time. I was upset so said that something that i was told from day one ( Clutch and Pressure Plate) is good was not good when it was time to complete the work. He said he had no knowledge of it and said will try to see what he can do, My bill was 237?.?? , I gave him my card and said I don't care , I need my car and I would like him to know someone on his side made a mistake and My car has been with them for almost a month with little update and not a confirmed Price. My car was repaired and Mike was nice enough to knock off About 120 and I paid 215?.?? . I was there for another 30 more mins to get the Clutch Adjusted. I felt it was a little too high but had a lot of power once Adjusted i have lost power. I did receive a call from Mike to make sure all things are ok . You don't really get calls from someone who has worked on your car to make sure that your car was repaired correctly. I will pay them a visit again to make sure the Clutch is adjusted a little better For now I am feel it was worked good. I should have to write a write a review to get my cars work done quickly. But the price was High to me for a complete Transmission built (5 speed manual) I am a real person and you can email me if you want my number to talk to me, i will also upload my Receipt if any one wants to know more. I recently had some major transmission issues on my 2000 Dodge Intrepid. I had another quote from one transmission shop for $1,700 for a re-built one. I took my car to Quality Transmission and worked with Mike Burdi, the owner. He had one of his chief mechanics look at the car. I ended up leaving with them. They called me and told me that my transmission was OK and that all I needed was the replacement of a sensor. I had them also change the transmission oil and filter while they replaced the sensor. My total bill was under $300. It was a pleasure working with Mike and I would not hesitate to recommend Quality Transmission for any transmission work. Best thing I can say is that my car is still moving 16 months later. Brought my car to them after the transmission blew on my then seven year old car with only 51,700 miles on it. Since my car was out of warranty, the dealer told me it would be like $ 6000 for a new transmission, which I could no way afford. Found Quality Transmission thru someone my sister knew who had used them in the past. They quoted me $ 2850.00 for a rebuilt transmission and had my car for about a week. I must say I envy the people who have left reviews saying their car felt like brand new after getting it back because to me, my car has never felt the same :( . I know how my transmission performed (pretty much right up to the day it broke) and the way it is now is in no way the same, but as I stated above...at least the car is still running (especially since I'm now past their 12 month warranty). One major problem I had with this company is that over the course of transacting business with them, I sent them two emails...never got any kind of response to either email. One email was sent while they actually had my car in their possession (just general questions) and the other was sent after I had the car back as I had some concerns about how the transmission was performing (weird surges between 1000 and 2000 rpms, etc...)...NO RESPONSE AT ALL. Why even list an email address on your website if your not going to bother answering emails sent to it? For now, the car is still running but I don't trust it the same way as I did before with the original transmission and (maybe this is just a woman thing but) I will no longer drive it on the expressway. read more
