Last week we dropped off my e-bike for a tune up service. I received my bike 3 days later as promised (2-3 days). The cost was a good value. After my e-bike was serviced it rode better than when it was brand new. The one thing I really don't like is having to leave my bike on the sidewalk. No one is officially tending to the bikes. They're just sitting there. They are a small operation and don't have the proper amount of space. My husband they did secure his e-bike to a parking meter when he dropped his off but he still felt uncomfortable about his bike on the sidewalk. What if someone crashes into it. We sign waivers that release them of responsibility blah blah blah. So we'd be happier if we had our bikes within the safe confines of their bike shop.

My boyfriend is very caring and meticulous, and he adjusted the derailleur to fix the issue of the chain falling off whenever we shifted out of second gear--the only gear that was working. Still, because he wanted to make absolutely sure the bike was safe for me, we decided to take it to PEDEGO ELECTRIC BIKES UPLAND. That's where we met the owner, Jerry--an incredibly friendly and helpful guy. I mentioned to him that whenever I rode my bike, I felt like my legs couldn't fully extend on the downward cycle. It felt as if I was pedaling with my knees bent at 90 degrees. Without hesitation, Jerry grabbed one of his bikes, told me to get mine, and brought us out back for a quick riding lesson! So there I was, a grown woman, suddenly learning how to ride my bike from a complete stranger--and loving every second of it. By riding alongside me and explaining what to do, Jerry showed me how to mount the bike and how to properly extend my leg on each downward stroke. The difference was immediate. I felt so much more comfortable and confident. I honestly couldn't believe it: at my age, I was learning a totally new way to ride a bike. Jerry was patient, attentive, and made sure I really understood the right technique. This small lesson taught me more than just bike posture--it showed me how genuinely caring and patient he is. After the lesson, Jerry did a full inspection of my bike and made several adjustments. While he worked, he answered all of our questions. We also got to know him a bit, and he treated us like old friends. In fact, he even had a few of his buddies hanging out at the shop, just chatting and enjoying the day. The whole atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. His shop has an amazing inventory, and we ended up buying several accessories for my bike. I even returned the very next day to pick up a few more items! All in all, our experience at PedegoElectric Bikes was outstanding. Jerry gave us exceptional service, offered fair prices, and showed deep knowledge and genuine friendliness. He treated us like friends, not just customers. From now on, his shop will be our go-to place for all our biking needs. Kudos to you, Jerry!

Working with someone like TJ goes a long way when you are spending money there. I would leave if my time was not met with care and appreciation. I pulled off the one tire that they said, "just needed a patch" (even though we wanted to buy a new tire)... guess what, there's no patch and the sealant is just blowing out of the hole. The other tire isn't holding air either. Here we are, leaving for Colorado in the morning, planning on riding trails on the way up and we'll need to stop at a shop on the road and get new tires anyway. I doubt that even if we did buy new tires from Incycle that their tech would've even installed them correctly. What a waste of time and money.

It was just the two of us in the shop. No rush of customers or phones ringing incessantly, yet Jodi seemed to be frazzled by my presence and questions. Whenever I asked a question, his response was short, impolite, and his overall demeanor was belittling as if he was speaking to a child. Truly a shameful and humiliating experience to watch a business owner speak to potential customers like this. When asked if he was having a bad day, he said yes and asked if we could restart the conversation. A do-over! Like we're playing four-square at recess! Sorry Jodi, after multiple insults and childish rants, I'll be going to Specialized as you recommended to me. In the realm of sales, there are no second chances, and first impressions are vital. Jodi's first impression was equivalent to a child having a temper tantrum. I'm definitely glad my kids weren't there to witness his disgusting behavior. This is a fun outing for a family even with small kids, as they have bikes with attachments for…read morelittle ones. Of course, electric bikes have changed the game and really made this a full on touring experience if you want it to be that way. They also have regular beach cruisers too, if that is more your style. The path is relatively flat and paved, so it's super easy either way. We've taken the whole crew on multiple rides down to Dana Point harbor, and Doheny State Beach. You can also ride south to the San Clemente Pier (pictured). The rental prices were reasonable and not too expensive. Staff was responsive and reasonably friendly. Overall it's a very entertaining afternoon activity, especially when the weather is nice.
