The drinks were excellent, especially if you enjoy a strong tea flavor. I appreciated that the tea-based beverages actually tasted like tea rather than being overly sweet. The staff were very pleasant and courteous, thanking customers for their patience and for stopping by, which was a nice touch. The shop itself is quite small compared to other HEYTEA locations. It was extremely busy and rather hectic when I visited, although that's to be expected on a buy-one-get-one promotion day. One thing I did appreciate was that they have a bench inside the store, so customers have somewhere to sit while waiting for their orders. Drinks are good but dear god the service makes the DMV look like a well-oiled machine. Tons of drinks were piled up at the counter with a long line of people waiting to pick them up, but the lady working the counter seemingly has no interest (or no ability) to move the line. Instead of having people who are waiting on a drink stand to the side so that people who have drinks ready can be serviced, the line just stalls. After about 10 minutes of waiting with barely any movement in the line, I just went up to grab my drink myself that was just sitting there. I don't know if it's due to poor operational workflow and processes, or simply staff incompetence, but either way it was an absolute shitshow. read more

What was once a Godiva chocolatier, is now the global tea-chain HeyTea. With only being just several weeks old; there is bound to be a plethora of kinks to work out. HeyTea is not exclusively boba or bubble tea, but is instead known for their innovative fruit and craft milk teas. The Good: drinks are just as good as those from other shops globally and domestically. My favorite go to is the Coconut Mango Blue and Crisp Grape Boom. My new favorite and I think it is seasonal - Guava Green Grape. The So-So: service is a bit chaotic and unorganized, and hopefully that changes with practice. However, unlike other HeyTea's, while there is a system in place for orders, the waiting and numbering are at odds with each other. People are crowding and blocking the counter and register area, which is defaulted by the design of the space. The layout is two rectangles at the front and the rest unseen is the kitchen prep area in the back. Neither do the staff tell people to stand to one side, nor are the orders efficient. As customers waive their phones at the staff and ask where are their "ready orders" as indicated in the HeyTea app; staff baffled, say one thing "the app is incorrect". And so customers wait impatiently. I've waited at most 45 minutes for my order, and I've been to this location 3 times already. Yes, HeyTea is extremely popular. My own experience: well, there were three females all huddled at the pick up counter, watching the only staff member play puzzle with all of the drinks being handed to her to set aside. All of the drinks that were ready were set aside in no specific order. As I waited, other customers behind me were trying to get the attention of the staff as to whether or not their order was ready. Overall, the drinks I give it a 5, but the service at a 3. I would also suggest to order directly from the app if allowed, because ordering at the counter felt rushed and 1 sided where the cashier had little to no character and quite unfriendly. I'm happy that HeyTea has finally opened at Stonestown and hope that service and pace improves with time. read more

I had a really disappointing experience at the Stonestown Heytea location today. I placed my order at 4:10 PM through the app and waited about 53 minutes, but I never received my drink. I went up to the staff multiple times to ask about my order. Each time, they would ask the kitchen about it, but nothing ever came out and no one followed up with me. Meanwhile, I watched customers who were ahead of me receive their drinks while I continued waiting. At that point, I honestly couldn't tell if my drink was never made or if it was accidentally handed to the wrong customer. Either way, there was no communication or effort to resolve the issue. I ended up wasting nearly an hour without getting what I paid for. Mistakes happen, but what was frustrating was the lack of follow-up and communication. I expected someone to at least check on the order, remake it, or explain what happened instead of leaving me waiting indefinitely. read more

Boba teas are popping up like weeds at Stonestown Galleria. This time, it's Hey Tea which just opened up recently. I believe this is the second location in the SF Bay Area with the first one in Daly City WestLake. First, I find the functional design of this boba spot a little clunky. There isn't any menu to see what is offered besides the kiosk in front of the cashier. I don't know why they don't have a menu on the wall or something. In addition, they don't have a self order kiosk for those interested in self service. All this leads to slower service overall. Finally, they don't have a good use of space with a narrow spot decorated with sand and rocks. It would have been better if that was setup as some wall bar to sit or hang out. Now to the drinks. Their most popular drink is the coconut mango boom which I've had in the past. It's really good but it's more like a dessert than a drink to me. It's kind of heavy. Instead today, we ordered the Pistachio Cloud Jasmine Coconut and the Longjing Cheese Milk Tea. The Pistachio Cloud Jasmine Coconut tasted too much like coconut water. I guess you can call it more healthy but I wouldn't need to pay $7 just to drink coconut water. The Longing Cheese Milk Tea has a nutty flavor and wasn't too bad. Personally I recommend the Crisp Grape Boom which is more refreshing or the Supreme Brown Sugar bobo Milk tea with light sweet. read more

We waited a bit before checking out this HeyTea location, knowing there was a long line during the grand opening because of the BOGO promotion. Instead of waiting, we scanned the QR code to download the app and placed our order there. It made the whole process much quicker and easier! If you see a long line, I'd definitely recommend ordering through the app instead. I was impressed as soon as we walked in. The beautiful lighting and minimalist décor give the shop a modern, chic feel; it almost looks more like a spa than a boba shop. I ordered my usual Coconut Mango Boom, (zero sugar sweetener) and it tasted just as good as it does at the other HeyTea locations. LOVE that this HeyTea finally opened close to home! No more having to drive to Westlake and wait out in the cold to place an order. It took awhile for them to open their doors (originally set for Winter 2025) but so glad they made their debut last month in June 2026. Well worth the wait, nice decors and very chic. I appreciate the bench they have right by the window for those waiting for their drinks. While the line at times may seem daunting, it's nice that it's indoors and moves quick. From the time you order, the drinks are made pretty fast too. If you are ever in a rush, download their app and place an order in advance. My go to drink is always the Guava Green Grape (when available). Perfect amount of guava taste and if you would like to get one non-caffeinated, they can make it tea free too. The Mr. always enjoys the Coconut Mango Boom with sago or the Crispy Grape Boom slush. All very tasty drinks, you can never really go wrong with their selections. After a long weekend of celebrating Americas 250th Birthday and San Francisco 250th Birthday and The World Cup and team USA it's good to reset and refresh. There are lots of places to get refreshing drinks that are sweet or salty in SF. There is a place which has lots of tasty drinks and known as the originator of new style tea which traces back to China. This the second location in SF. It's located inside the Stonestown by San Francisco and it's called HeyTea ( pronounced Haiti). On a Summer stroll inside of the best mall of all of San Francisco called Stonestown I landed at HeyTea ( Not the country of Haiti). There was as a long line outside. They have a good drink selection including triple matcha for Don Juan de la Matcha. They have bubble tea and a selection which includes slushy like drinks like the Guava Green grape which delicious and refreshing. I also tried their Coconut Mango boom and it was tasty and not too sweet. I will have to try the Longjing cheese milk next time. This is a good spot to grab a refreshing drink at Stonestown in San Francisco, USA. Got here at 10:50 am for the 11 am grand opening on June 26. I was 237 in line, as an employee handed out flyers with the menu for the first 300 in line who would get a fridge magnet. There is also a BOGO, of which it's supposed to be one offer per customer but someone bragged about having done four. The line snaked from heytea, down towards Whole Foods, and back towards Onigily, and then coiled towards Wanpo. There were several security guards ensuring the retail store entrances remained accessible, keeping people from sitting on store fronts, and stopping people from cutting the line. An employee came out to offer water cups to the front of the line, and another came to help customers start circling what they wanted on the flyer. I got to the cashier at 2:40 pm, then received my order by 2:55 pm and collected my magnet. I think it was ran as smoothly as it could be but I wish the several staff we had interacted with thanked us for enduring the wait. Instead the guy I collected the magnet from just told me to take a lot of pictures and share online - zero thanks for coming out, thanks for waiting, hope you enjoy, please come back. I'm sure all the staff are really stressed out too but a little human touch with the interaction would go a long way. This line wasn't worth a $8 saving and a collectible magnet, but it was 99% Asian community coming out excited and supporting boba/tea. So many passerby ask us what the line was for, and when they learned it was just for BOGO, they would scoff and say it wasn't worth the wait. The coconut mango boom and crisp grape boom were excellent with real fruit chunks. Security guards said although the mall opens at 10 am, they will not allow people to line up at the store prior, but they may have a barricade line outside or something. They also said no chairs are allowed. I recommend getting here early as I feel if I arrived 1 hour early, I may only have had to wait 1-2 hours rather than 4 hours. Or just wait for things to calm down, there's a heytea in Westlake Daly City and Metreon SF where you can just order ahead read more

Getting on the wave of new boba tea/drink shops, I stopped by the new Hey Tea in Stonestown Shopping Mall to try it out. No QR code on a sign. The menu is on a panel at the cashier station. The majority of people in the store were teens. After looking over the menu I asked the cashier which drinks were cow milk-free. Not many were (some had traces in the drink :( so I couldn't order them. I opted for an Oat Mango Boom. Then waited... And waited... When I finally got my drink, I had to initiate the pick up by looking at the window where the drinks come out and wave at the cashier that my drink was on the sill. The oat mango boom was not too sweet (I had asked for less sugar and less ice). The coconut oat milk was creamy. Very smooth with some chunks of mango. A nice drink. Not ask wonderful, however, as my coconut mango sago drink at Valley Fair Mall. Just so you know: it seems many people pre-order their drinks. These sit on the counter waiting for pick up. It would be more efficient if there was a pick up window and not the one cashier who has to help connect patrons to their pick up purchases. Love that this location has FINALLY opened (winter 2025 -- summer 2026), as it is closer than the next closest location in Westlake. Very popular (those other tea places may very well end up leaving), often with lines out the door and so many folks crowding the entrance and counter. Generally, considerate people: --wait until their drinks are actually ready before approaching the counter, and --if they're in line to order, wait by the roped off area rather than block the entrance. But there is an unfortunate serious lack of etiquette in the clientele here. Doesn't deter me from ordering (when online ordering is available--it's not always available), though, since they continue to have the best quality tea/boba in the area. Their fruit drinks have real fruit and customizations that include caffeine free. Boba is consistently a great chewy texture, though like all boba shops, time your order for the early afternoon for a good sweetness. Hot jasmine tea latte w/boba is my go to order, daughter likes all the fruit drinks (grape, mango sago, etc), though guava green grape is her current fave. read more

Heytea is always bustling with business and for good reason! They are consistently good and in my humble opinion, in the highest tier amongst all bay area boba shops. Their drinks are always refreshing and thirst quenching. They are on the pricier end, but it's a premium I am willing to pay. Prepare for a line especially on days when they have a bogo promotion. Came here for the bogo deal, I got here at 11 & I waited for 2.5 hours which is understandable, there are so many people and it's a new boba shop. My family got the jasmine milk tea, coconut mango boom, matcha latte, and the brown sugar boba milk tea. Boba was warm and chewy. Jasmine milk tea was a bit mid, coconut mango boom was pretty good- I love the flavor, the coconut jelly and the sago, the brown sugar boba milk tea was creamy and great balance of brown sugar and cream, but the matcha latte was definitely a miss for me. It was creamy but pretty bitter, matcha flavor was not that great. The shop is pretty small but relatively clean. Will come back to try the other drinks such as red guava and the grape drink. But for matcha drinks, I would get that somewhere else. read more

I've had the coconut mango boom so many times and it's my go to so the taste is pretty on point but my new favorite heytea drink is the guava green grape!! It's soo good and refreshing! There's actual pieces of grape too and I love a good slush. I wanna come back & get it again lol (but when the hype dies down). I came here on day 2 early morning when they opened, but it took a long time cuz there were hella peeps. Would recommend coming mid afternoon since the line wasn't as cray. They also gave out mini water samples, but I thought since it's heytea they should've just given out tea samples instead. I received a notification that my order was ready for pickup, but when I arrived at the store, the pickup area was extremely chaotic. There was no organized line, and customers were constantly squeezing past each other trying to collect their drinks. Many people did not know whether their orders were ready, so they crowded around the pickup counter, making it difficult for others to access their drinks. There was only one employee working at the front counter, and they were responsible for taking new orders, handing out completed drinks, and refilling ingredients at the same time. Meanwhile, dozens of completed drinks were sitting on the counter with no clear organization or arrangement. Every time a customer came to pick up an order, the employee had to search through every single cup and repeatedly check dozens of order numbers before finding the correct one. This happened for every customer, creating an unnecessarily long wait and making the entire process extremely inefficient. After waiting in line for quite some time, I was told that although my online order had been marked as ready for pickup, my drink could not be found. What was even more frustrating was that customers with order numbers much later than mine were able to receive their drinks before I could. While the front counter was clearly overwhelmed with only one employee trying to handle everything, I also noticed another employee in the kitchen standing off to the side using their phone instead of coming out to assist. Given how chaotic the situation was, this was very surprising and disappointing. I understand that stores can become busy, but this experience seemed to reflect poor workflow, lack of organization, and inadequate staffing rather than simply a high volume of customers. The online pickup system should make the process more efficient, not more frustrating. I hope you will investigate this incident and review the store's pickup procedures and staff coordination so that future customers do not have to go through the same experience. read more

this year i have been trying to be less gullible around trends. i did pretty well avoiding labubus (ugly), trader joe's bags (ugly), dubai chocolate (too sweet), stanley cups (ugly)...BUT WHY HAVE I BEEN ENSNARED BY HEYTEA. i'm crying. heytea is lowkey mid but also extremely bone-shaking delicious. i hate this all they do is take my money and leave me with cute receipts and magnets located 1st floor of stonestown mall. long lines and 15-20 min wait. however if you go around 11-11:30 it's not as bad service is nice! decor is questionable. very uninviting cause it's like a grey block with lots of rocks and um sand. everything is grey and colorless. i don't know what the vision was. i felt slightly imprisoned in that store (also if you are waiting for your drinks there are 2 benches under more displays of rocks. no padding just stone. yes rawdog it. obviously they get taken up so you may have to stand awkwardly near the sand/rock enclosure like WE DID and think about rocks.) we got the mango BOOM BOOM BOOM and the longjing cheese milk tea. heytea mango sago is always not mangoey enough and too milky/coconutty but at least the portions are...okay??? 6/10 longjing was alright. the cream too was nice but didn't taste cheesy, more like a salted plain cream top. maybe i was expecting a flood of parmesan. maybe not. the tea was good, boba slightly overcooked but syrup added some nice cocoa flavors. 7.5/10 now i'm conflicted, do i give them 3 or 4 stars?? i think the grey corporate rocky enclosure isn't helping. i hate grey so 3 stars. sorry heytea read more

Very excited another location has opened up in this mall! There are a lot of shops in the area and ample parking. The staff was very organized during their soft opening. Worst experience I've had at HeyTea. I ordered three drinks and waited about 30 minutes, only to be told they had run out of boba. I decided to cancel just that one drink, but the staff told me I would have to cancel my entire order instead. That made no sense and was incredibly frustrating after already waiting so long. The store was very disorganized and clearly understaffed. It seemed like they needed more help and much better management to handle orders and communicate with customers. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and I won't be coming back. read more

Waited another 15 minutes for my order. The store was overflowing with people because everyone else's order was also marked as ready for pickup. Why mark the order as ready for pickup when it's not? You're causing congestion in your own store while you could have easily just not hit that button and allowed us to continue shopping elsewhere until the order was actually ready. Are you marking it as done so the wait times look better in your own system to the rest of corporate? Let the customer know when the order is actually ready for pickup so they can do their own thing...or hire more people for the poor team that's downing. read more
