Decided to switch it up this morning and visit the Peet's closer to home rather than the one we usually go to each morning at Serramonte. We also had a free tea latte to claim on the Peet's app! Upon entering, it was busy, as expected since it's near the college campus. Very small shop, seating was limited. We placed our orders. I ordered my usual London Fog latte with heavy cream and SF vanilla, David ordered his cafe au lait with heavy cream and SF vanilla. We told the cashier we had a free tea latte to claim in the app and showed her our rewards. She seemed a bit confused and asked her colleague. They both came over to explain that we could t utilize our free tea latte towards the London Fog latte I ordered which is early grey tea with milk... hence, a tea latte. Strange. This is disappointing as we build our rewards up by coming into Peet's each morning to order a tea latte and cafe au lait. Hmmm.. Anyhoo. I enjoyed my London fog, David enjoyed his cafe au lait. We ordered an iced matcha latte for a friend who works at stonestown and claimed our "free tea latte" reward this way. They made it hot. I asked to remake it to iced, as ordered. Taking over a small section that was once a Chevy's Mexican Restaurant, Peet's Coffee faces the open-air parking lot that in turn faces the main entrance to the Galleria that resides on 19th Avenue, the main thoroughfare that bisects the entire part of the city. The fact that the Peet's Coffee empire chose to open this location despite having nearby locations along Sloat Boulevard and West Portal Avenue proves how dedicated Peet's Coffee is in growing their brand throughout the city of San Francisco. What brought me here recently to this location was the fact that I was taking my automobile to a nearby mechanic for a service and needed a place to do some work, and of course knowing that Peet's Coffee had a strong WiFi signal for working and this location was nearby, made it a destination for me. Upon arrival, I was surprised how crowded it was inside, and I was actually surprised how crowded it was, as it was on a weekday afternoon and post lunch hour. People clearly love their Peet's Coffee in this city, and it's easy to see why. Their brews are bolder, richer, and pack a stronger punch than most. I also love that Peet's Coffee thinks outside of the box when thinking of their seasonal menu, as when I visited this location, they were in the midst of their summer menu promotion with a number of new creations that I have personally never seen before at a Peet's Coffee location. With this menu they had drinks such as Peet's on the Beach, which was their play on a Sex on the Beach cocktail with tea and pineapple juice; and their Sparkling Peach Matcha, which is your traditional iced matcha mixed with peach syrup and tea over ice. Since this was my first time being introduced to their summer menu, I asked our cashier if the two mules, the Hula or Baridi Mules, were top sellers, and they replied with their Baridi Mule, and so I ordered a medium size. The Baridi Mule, which Peet's Coffee markets as "a strong and uplifting drink inspired by a classic, of course being a Moscow Mule, which featured a healthy pour of their juicy Baridi Cold Brew over ice and then a layer of Owen's Ginger Beer mixed in with a touch of mint-lime flavor. Paying with my trusty Peet's Coffee app, my total bill was $6.15, which was rather pricey considering the drink was a 16 ounce drink, but I thought this new creation tasted unique enough, thanks to the zesty zing with every sip that it made me want to order it again. As I said it was a smaller Peet's Coffee location so all of the tables were filled, but I was lucky to get one of the few tables that were directly outside, as thankfully their WiFi remains strong, as long as you are directly in front of their coffee shop. Fair warning: there was zero visible effort to clean or bus tables at this location, which was disappointing, especially given how busy it was with customers from all walks of life. Still, the crowd speaks volumes. Peet's Coffee is clearly in demand here, and its presence at Stonestown Galleria is ultimately a welcome addition. read more

Got a cold brew with almond milk and hazelnut syrup! Out of the places I have tried a cold brew in sf, this was by far my favorite! Peet's Coffee reminds me of a better Starbucks. They are super friendly and are quick to give you your order! Conveniently located as part of Stonestown shopping center, we were in the need for a pick me up after doing some photos with Santa and perusing around the mall. Hubby & I have been coming here consistently for the last couple of years as this is our second stop after shopping at the nearby Stonestown farmers market on Sundays. Lately we've tasted a change in their medium roast drip coffee. It's barely got any flavor. So we asked ourselves, is it us or is it the coffee? Maybe we've developed a stronger palate. On the other hand last week we looked into the paper coffee cup - it was translucent. Like colored water. We didn't bring it to Peet's attention as our order was a mobile order. Already left the premises so no recourse. Yesterday we decided to switch back to dark roast drip coffee. Rather than doing a mobile order, I went inside to place an order. I described the medium roast coffee from last week to the barista. The barista barely blinked an eye. So much for that. Hubby & I both agreed the dark roast coffee was more robust like Peet's coffee is known for. As for the ordering process indoors - Peet's recently remodeled. The order counter is further back than the mobile pickup spot. However, folks are using the narrow aisle to enter to the order counter like we did. It's poorly designed. You should go clockwise not counterclockwise. Maybe management can take another look at the setup. read more

Have not been here since they remodeled the interior and the way customers enter the store. They now have high top tables in the middle area but depending on the time of the day there are customers waiting in a queue right next to you while you are eating or drinking your coffee. Gender restroom which I did not use today. Came here on a Sunday at 0930 when classes are getting out from City Sport. There were 3 people working and one of them was the cashier who also took care of the oven items. Overall no complaints other than I'm not a fan of the seating setup and prefer the Serramonte location which has the same setup but is much larger and one does not feel so claustrophobic. read more

While shopping, I decided to get some coffee from Peet's. The store is located next to the main entrance on the 19th Ave. side of the mall. Service was friendly and quick. After getting my coffee, I sat at one of eight or so tables. There are a couple of tables outside. Some customers were working on their laptops but most were shoppers in for a coffee break. Came in trying to get a coffee, I had no other form of payment other than cash. After I had already paid for my order with a $100 bill the two ladys at the register went to the back together and came back out saying they had no change for a bill so big.. After the fact the cashier had already said they did have change in the back. Customer service always lacks at this location. Never welcoming. Coffee can be a hit or miss. I would rather get coffee elsewhere Recent experience: Came here to grab an iced latte and egg and cheddar sandwich before I did some shopping. I was ignored by the staff for nearly 5min while they were all chatting until another coworker said to another, "Ugh, can you help her?" she didn't even try being discreet about it The worker came over, didn't even greet me, and took my order. When my sandwich was ready, the worker called out the wrong name of the sandwich. "Bacon cheddar sandwich...bacon CHEDDAR sandwich!!" while staring at me with an annoyed look on her face. I'm like thinking I guess this is mine lol (even though my sandwich has no bacon in it) She just left it on the counter for me to grab and turned around. Next, the barista that made my drink called it out, and just left it on the counter before I could say thank you. While I'm grabbing my order, I watch them scramble to help an older lady with a complete different demeanor, way more welcoming and helped her in less than 2 seconds. Hmm? Overall: I've come here over the years and usually try to avoid it due to the lack of customer service and weird negative vibe in there. The staff is always unwelcoming. I only come for the coffee but even then, sometimes the the shots are almost dead in the coffee. I decided to give this location one last try and was disappointed again. Stopped by and tried a few pastries from this location! 4.5/5: Maple Scone - Great flavor, crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside! Paired nicely with my coffee. 5/5: Cinnamon sugar cake - Just delicious! Not too sweet, although it is covered in the cinnamon sugar. 3/5: Banana Nut Loaf - It was just okay. Really strong banana taste, but I prefer lots of nuts and chocolate chips in mine. I thought it was better the next day than the first. 1/5: Cinnamon Roll - Really dry and not enough frosting for me. Terrible service! I did a mobile order and placed it at 5:08pm and the app said it would be ready by 5:13-5:18pm. I got there at 5:17pm and waited until 5:28pm. There were no customers in line but some waiting at the pickup area. There were two baristas and one cashier. The baristas were making drinks at a very slow pace, looking like they were having more fun chatting with the cashier rather than focusing on making the drinks. I received my first drink and then I noticed that the barista was making another drink after that wasn't mine. At this point it was 5:21 pm, after my pickup window. I didn't want to bother the barista so I went up to the cashier and asked her for an update on my drink. At first distracted because she was chatting with the baristas, she then turned to me and told me I should go ask them. them? As in the baristas... who are standing right next to you? Who you're behind the counter with? If I'm asking you for an update and you work there, you could check in with them and see if there's an update on my order. So unprofessional and service is extremely slow. Will not be coming back to this location. read more

I guess I am a Peetnik. When I reviewed the Laurel Heights/Presidio Heights location on California Street, I received a comment from Peet's Customer Service Team for being a Peetnik. I guess that's what you call a loyal Peet's customer, which frankly I am. Yes, I prefer Peet's over that evil empire coffee chain from Seattle, which IMHO is way overrated. Just look at how they made their original location pretty much a tourist trap. Unlike the original Peet's location in Berkeley, it remains a humble and better functioning store and you don't have to line-up and wait in Disneyland-like long lines just to get a cup coffee. Then I went to this location on Stonestown and saw an advertisement for Peetnik. Curios, I looked it up and damn, I should've downloaded this app sooner. You get a free beverage of your choice on your first check-in and you can accumulate points and rewards for every check-in. 15 points will get you another free beverage and get a chance to earn bonus points. It's your birthday? Get any size of beverage on the house. There's also other benefits and rewards on the app, so if you're a Peetnik like me, I'd suggest you get it ASAP. This is also a nice location with plenty of outdoor seating to watch the people wait in line at Marugame Udon. Yup, I usually sit outside to pass the time while Wifey gets her eyebrows done inside the mall. Service is fast here and the Baristas are always nice. And who doesn't like free Wi-Fi? Stonestown has come a long way since they've had their major renovation back in 1987 when I was going to Aptos. OK, TMI since I just hinted my age. But I'm a guy, so I really don't give AF. I go to the Peet's pretty often due to the close distance from work. For my own orders I have no complaints but twice a month I need to order for coffee chat. Somehow, I can never get the orders ready on time for me! They either don't have my order or wrote down for a different date. It's so annoying that I have to sit there for about 10 mins. each time waiting for them to get my orders ready! What's the point of ordering ahead!? Also, I've trying to drop off donation request for local schools. Manager never answers to it or care to make contribution to the community. I'm speechless. This is located at the stonestown galleria and is just right near the entrance. Though I may not go here often, their service from start to finish is superb as all staff are filled with bright smiles and are friendly. The place itself is very spacious and they do a great job cleaning the place. So glad their restrooms here don't have that pungent smell most public restrooms have... I ordered the cappuccino and it was nicely made. I don't think you can really mess it up. It had just the right amount of sweetness and that condensed milk played its role just right. Looks like Starbucks has some competition, as a Peet's Coffee and Tea finally opened up outside of Stonestown Galleria late June 2013. For people who just want a drink without having to go inside the mall, Peet's is a good option. Their freddos are blended drinks, very creamy and rich, even if you request non-fat milk. I wished they were offered in small rather than only medium and large. A small iced vanilla latte is my usual go-to caffeinated drink, and Peet's version is good, refreshing, creamy, and not overly sweetened. The staff is very friendly here. The place is clean, bright, and spacious. There's about six tables indoor and a few more tables outdoor. Though, in this gloomy neighborhood that rarely sees the sun, why sit outside? The one thing I don't like about this Peet's is the layout -- why is the sugar/ creamer/ lids/ straws area not next to the drink pick-up counter?
