Their stuffed spinach bread is the best I've had outside of my grandmothers and mother who are both born in italy. We bought it a few weeks ago and put it in the freezer and it reheated perfectly. I was so shocked at how delicious it was and how well prepared it was . We go here a lot but I've never had their stuffed bread I guess. I visited Catapanzas by chance. It's very cozy inside small but nice . We ordered the sausage and peppers appetizer delicious and then we got the ricotta roasted peppers and meatballs pizza . Food Only review - great pizza a bit salty We ordered takeout pizza from Carpanzano's. We ordered a simple large pepperoni pizza with red sauce. Crust is crispy and thin, the sauce nicely flavored with oregano and garlic flavors, the pepperoni was cupped and the cheese nicely layered. All in all, a really good pizza. The only issue was the pizza was very salty. Size of a large pizza is plenty adequate to feed four for dinner. First let me preface this by saying I believe the taste of their food and pizza to be top notch. However, I have had such problems with orders there. 1 order? They sent the totally wrong pizzas. Another order? Was covered in mushrooms. We hate mushrooms. I called and the man asked me if I wanted to pick them off, I said no, he clearly was not happy, when I returned to pick up the correct pizza, I brought the incorrect pizza back. He comes out from the back, still angry and says "why did you bring that garbage in here I don't want it," takes it and slams it in the garbage, I almost walked out but said nothing. We did not use them for over a year. Tonight I call and place an order for 2 pizzas. The young woman takes the order and repeats it back correctly and says 75 min, I tell her no problem. Go to pick it up? She only told them to make one of them. So the other pizza is cold by the time the second one is made, I'm sorry, but I just cannot recommend this place. When the order is right, it's great. But when it's wrong it's a bad experience, Attitude & anger may not be on the menu, but you still get them. read more

We had a varied experience here, generally all good. The olive and anchovies pizza was excellent. So were the meatballs. The chicken parmigiana was very good. Plenty of red sauce for both entrees. Service was also excellent. Big mark against it, which is hard to correct, is that it has a strong take out business. On our cold night out, the constant opening and closing of the front door let in so much cold air, we had to eat with our coats on and we were still quite chilled. Got pizza from here last night and I will be coming back! One of the best pizzas I've had in the area, with the texture being not too thick, acidic, or salty. Very delicious and savory. The crust was a little blackened and charred, but not severely and it did not affect the quality of the meal. The service at the restaurant was also pleasant. Had to call about an hour in advance --which is common with high-demand pizza places in CT-- but the staff was very polite and let me know there would be a wait. Good customer service all around. In addition, the location was very nice and well maintained. Went for pickup, so I can't speak as to dining in, but a very nice place to stop for pickup. No hassle and clean venue. Recently checked out this place after a trip to the outlets based off yelp reviews. We decided to eat in, which may have thrown the staff off. Small place. Staff not super happy but service was ok. My favorite pizza place of all time. When I was a freshman in college I attended a school in Long Island and a friend of mine said they were driving to upper New England for the weekend but stopped off the highway and randomly found a pizza place that she claims was the best pizza of all time; it was Carpanzano's. The service is always friendly and easygoing, even when busy. The owner (or who I believe to be the owner) is always very polite whenever I see him. The interior is small without a lot of seating, but it is in my opinion a cozy and quaint little spot. It seems to be mainly a place to order out from, but I enjoy eating there from time to time as it is a perfect place to go if you want an intimidate little setting to unwind or catch up with an old friend. read more

I recently ordered a Tuscany grinder that is prosciutto, mozzarella,lettuce and oil and vinegar. I was very disappointed to find 1-2 thin slices of meat that I could see thru with tons of lettuce to fill the sandwich. I basically paid for bread with lettuce. I recently relocated to Guilford from New Jersey and am beyond disappointed. How do you charge 11.00 for a sandwich that has no meat (which is the only meat on the sandwich) It also had no oil and vinegar on it. I will be looking for a new pizzeria even though this is a mile from my house. You need to raise your standards and give customers what they paid for. I have an agreement with my crew. Anytime we install one of our solar panel systems and there is snow I get us all hot lunches. They always ask for Carpanzano's hot subs when we're anywhere near Guilford. Sausage and peppers are a crowd favorite but there is growing demand among the installers for chicken parm. The rolls are toasted and the portions are good. Not too big. You can partially unwrap them and eat them with one hand and it stays together. I prefer the eggplant parm. Its lightly breaded and thin sliced. Very good. I've ordered several times during the winter of 20-21 usually 15 or 20 subs at a time and they are reliable to be ready when they say they will be ready and ordering is easy. A solar client turned me on to Carpanzano's and I appreciate the opportunity to support local businesses, especially during these times.
