Two other customers walked in and were greeted warmly, calmly, and with genuine friendliness. The difference in treatment was stark. As a Black woman, that contrast didn't feel accidental--it felt like bias, and it honestly hurt. I want to be clear: the young woman who did my threading was kind and did a good job. But the way I was treated before that left me feeling unwelcome and disrespected. I live nearby and try to support local businesses, but I will not spend money in a place where I'm made to feel like I don't belong. As we walked in, we noticed the astrology books and then crystals, wind chimes... there were beautiful wooden chests that I want to come back for. This store has narrow isles and gets packed! Some items felt like they were very overpriced. Like... back in Roseville, I could get the same crystal for at least $8 cheaper.
