Everything was very good.. wife got the Lomo Saltado and at $13 it was a pretty impressive portion of food and also very tasty. I ordered the Milanesa a Lo Pobre which was a breaded chicken cutlet with rice, fries, fried egg and plantains. It was also good although I enjoyed my wife's meal better. Atmosphere isn't fancy but is clean and the staff is friendly. I hope they stick around.. Peruvian is a good addition to the Harrisburg area and I would like to check out some other entrees in the future. read more

This chicken is the Bomb! Perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. One whole chicken that comes with fries fed my family of four. We did order some fried rice just in case the kids decided to be picky that day, but they ate the chicken with no problems. The fried rice was just average. The chicken is what you want to order! We ate here last night, the biggest problem we had was the way they bill customers. The menu states pay cash and save so we paid cash. Unfortunately we did not read the cash register receipt that we had to ask for. They charged us an extra 15% and called it a tip. Normally we tip quite generously for excellent food and excellent service. The food was quite good. We really enjoyed it. The service was totally lacking. I was able to try the food last night. I ordered a few things off the menu. Pollo A LA Brasa the rotisserie chicken portions were generous. The salad that comes with it is definitely not what was pictured in their menu though it was just iceberg lettuce with a slice of cucumber and a slice of tomato. Lomo saltado Was good I've never had it before though the menu pictures show the fries to the side and they use the method of cooking them into the meal. Chaufa de pollo Was good and a large portion though the chicken in it had an odd consistency almost like it was unsold rotisserie chicken except they were closed on Monday so it was Sunday's possibly. And finally my son ordered Ceviche De Pescado it didn't taste bad, however, the description of "Fresh Fish" doesn't prepare the uninitiated to the fact that it's raw fish chemically denatured by a citrus bath. They should perhaps put a warning on the menu about consuming raw or undercooked fish. It's close though I may still make the run to Chambursburg for the Inka kitchen for my favorite Churrasco de Pollo. read more

Ordered the Causa Acevichada & lomo saltado for a light meal while watching World Cup Serbia vs Switzerland. Fish ceviche was delicious and the combination with the causa de atun made for a terrific lime appetizer. Lomo saltado was well done, filling, and the rice was delicious. Very simple and casual, but great food. No alcohol (BYOB), but I did notice other diners drinking what appeared to be canned Peruvian soda. Menu is two-sided featuring rotisserie chicken plus other beef and seafood entrees. Started with complimentary boiled corn with a wonderful mildly spicy green sauce on the side. Ordered an app of fried yucca which came with a yellow pepper cream sauce that was a bit too subtle for me. The fried yucca was perfect, though, crisp and not greasy. Had a half rotisserie chicken for my entree which came with a salad and delicious sweet plantains. The chicken was incredible moist and a good-sized portion. (Rotisserie chicken comes in whole, half and quarter. Probably a better deal to buy larger if you're sharing.) The rub on the chicken skin was very tasty and different. Desserts looked good, but we had prior plans for 3B. Service was very friendly if not polished. I'll definitely go back to try the steak and the ceviche. read more

i visited Quechua's as a result of positive reviews I read about this new restaurant. However, my experience was regretful. I placed a carryout order for rotisserie chicken and was told it came with white rice, and that I'd have to pay an additional $4 for white beans. I've been to many Peruvian restaurants, in different cities, and have been given a choice of black beans, white beans, and/or pinto beans, as well as a choice of white rice or fried rice. I wasn't pleased by the limited offerings, but accepted it because I traveled 25 miles for what I anticipated would be a great experience. While I waited for my carryout order to be prepared, I looked over the menu. At that time, I recognized that fried rice was a menu item. I then went to the counter and requested fried rice as a substitute for the white rice I ordered. After speaking to the owner and receiving resistance and being told there would be an additional cost because it was considered "another order," I suggested that, moving forward, he might want to consider a more flexible stance because, as with me, white rice isn't every customer's preference. Unfortunately, the owner showed no concern for my point of view and did not make any concessions whatsoever. I should also mention that, throughout the entire exchange, I was courteous to the owner and his staff, and even gave a reasonably generous tip to the clerk when I placed my original order. As one with a public relations background, I understand the importance to taking customer thoughts/opinions into consideration. While I've argued against the notion that "the customer is always right" in the past, I have always recognized that customers are valuable and that without them, businesses cannot thrive. From a customer service point of view, a better response may have been - all variables considered - to make a one-time exception and to inform the customer that "Today we'll substitute fried rice for white rice, but in the future, there will be an additional charge if you don't want white rice"...or "we'll consider your request to offer different options in the future." Customer service will always be important (even at a time when societal values seem to be on the decline). An establishment should always make an effort to accommodate reasonable customer requests, and all customers should leave feeling valued. This is even more important for new businesses. All and all, a business should probably never let something as cheap as rice cost them a customer who would have eagerly made a trip to said establishment a regular part of their monthly routine, and would have possibly been happy to tell others how worthy the trip was. read more

I came here with a Meetup group a few months ago...the place used to be a cupcake place, Italian place, and who knows what else. (It seems to change a lot) Anyhow, I didn't know what to order so I got the fried seafood which was OK. Tasted like fried seafood but nothing authentic. The Inca Kola is super sweet and tastes like bubble gum/cream soda Dum Dums. They give you fried corn kernels as an app, which I thought looked like a corn nut I would for sure crack a tooth on, but they were surprisingly softer. The favorite item for me was the Pecarones doughnuts, the sauce is so delicious with flavors of clove and orange. I have been back since just to get those! The pan pipe music was fun, and the ladies that work there are stunningly beautiful. I want to go back and try something else next time, a more authentic dish. At first the restaurant was pretty good when it first opened but now the food has changed because some of it does not taste good anymore or it's not cooked properly. The place changed a lot a month after they opened because they had some waiters that did not know the menu or were not that patient with when we were ordering. When I go with family we would just order some the usual stuff we like because if we order something for some reason now the food comes out bad. I fell really bad they they changed they way they cook the food because I liked it the first time I went there. A hidden gem! I wasn't sure what to expect going here for the first time; I was pleasantly surprised. Our server was very helpful in guiding us through the menu. My husband and I each ordered the rotisserie chicken - one with fried yuca, one with fried plantain. The chicken was fantastic! At our server's recommendation, I tried the green sauce on the chicken. Excellent recommendation! The restaurant is not very big and is very simple; don't come here expecting a fancy restaurant. If you like good food and service, I recommend trying Quechua. Not your typical Harrisburg Latin food restaurant but I mean that in a great way. This place is amazing! Employees are very friendly and the owner is as hands on as I've ever seen. There dishes are amazing and reasonably priced for what you get. Huge servings and grade A food. They also have lunch specials that are about 8 bucks, I think, that include a drink, soup and a huge entrée with rice and beans and a meat.
