Stopped in to pick up a takeout order. The place was beautiful on the inside and quite busy for a Wednesday night. Originally I was hesitant to order from here because the prices are a couple of dollars higher than most Thai places in the area. I paid 40 bucks for two items - Pad Thai and Masaman Curry with chicken. Both were excellent. The curry was relatively sweet compared to other ones I've had, but it was still very flavorful, and the portion was generous. Pad Thai was one of the best I've had. Don't sleep on this hidden gem in Lemoyne. (It's not *that* hidden, it's on the main road through town...) I think it's pretty new. The dining room is small but classic, stunning, and lovely. The staff are friendly and wonderful. The menu is streamlined but features all of everyone's favorite Thai dishes. I was there on a Tuesday evening and it was a little slow, with several to-go orders being processed. We started with the Chicken Larb. It was a generous portion with that tangy lime dressing that I want toed to drink out of the bowl when we were done with the food. It was excellent and presented beautifully. I had Drunken Noodles with Shrimp as my entree and my hubs had a soup that was on the specials menu. My noodles were some of the best I've had. His soup was pretty amazing. It had a rich opaque broth that was really different. I could taste the spices in it. It reminded me of a good pho, but richer. It had clear noodles in it, lightly colored meatballs that didn't look like beef, maybe more like chicken or pork, sliced beef, peanuts and herbs. He loved it. I visited on a busy Friday night and the place was packed. I got very excited and ordered all my favorite Thai dishes to see how they did. What stood out most was the sauces that each dish was served with. Both my noodle stir fry and veggie stir fry were served coated in the thickest brown sauce I've ever had eating Thai food. It far too heavy and left a horrible taste in your mouth. It was akin to some Chinese cooking, but certainly not Thai. The restaurant is known for its slower service, which I usually don't mind. However, I made a reservation for 7:30 PM without realizing that the restaurant closes at 8 PM. As a result, I felt rushed throughout the meal. While I take responsibility for not checking the closing time, I also think it's reasonable for the restaurant to take responsibility in properly managing reservations in a way that ensures guests can enjoy their experience. Accepting reservations so close to closing or not clearly communicating that limitation made the evening feel rushed and we felt unwelcome. I am really sorry to give this new Thai restaurant a bad review. They have really good food! And if it was only the food, they'd be getting at least two more stars. But the service for our meal tonight, specifically the time it took to get served, was absolutely unacceptable. We had a reservation for dinner (3) for 6:30. The restaurant was busy, and we were apparently seated before those who were there without reservations. However, it then took nearly an hour and twice asking a server to get water and appetizers (one soup and one salad), and a solid TWO HOURS before the third entrée was finally served. The three entrées were served with about 15 minutes separating them. Meanwhile, we saw several tables seated after us get their food. We asked the owner numerous times for service and were told many times, "It will be just a minute," including 15 minutes before service of the final entrée. When it was brought we asked for takeout containers and our check, which were literally the only things to come in a timely manner. It's a shame because, as I said, the food is excellent. I would say this is the best Thai I've tried in central pa. Hidden gem so sure. The service was excellent, I'm assuming she was the owner but she was so nice and welcoming. Very clean and nice inside. As for the food we got the Tom Yum Fried Rice but substitute chicken inside of seafood and the Thai basil with chicken. Also a Thai iced tea. Both entrees were packed with flavor and seasoned well. Flavor and seasoning is something we struggle with here at any Thai restaurant but this place definitely did not disappoint. Since the Thai basil was on the more saucer side we had to order extra rice which added up lot! They should increase the portion of the side of white rice. The portions are quite big too but the price point for the entrees is on the higher end for sure. So not your average let's get Thai food on a Friday night type of place. My husband and I came here on a Tuesday afternoon (3 pm). It was our first time here. We ordered the Thai wings and the shrimp pad Thai. There was a bit of a wait but it didn't bother us and the food came out hot and well done! I would be annoyed if I waited a while and then got lukewarm food. The wings were big and saucy. So yummy. They were a little spicy, which we enjoyed. The pad Thai with shrimp was well flavored, had a good amount of shrimp, and was a good portion. We would definitely come again. The food and service are very good. Not my absolute favorite Thai restaurant, but I would eat there again.

Went for lunch. Small restaurant mostly booths with bar seating and a couple large tables. Don't use google maps, you'll end up at a quarry. Service was friendly and prompt. Food was served hot, fresh and flavorful with large portions. We ordered Thai sweet tea, larb, wonton soup and Thai smoked chili with chicken. A bit pricey for lunch but definitely received dinner portions. We enjoyed our first visit and will return for additional meals. Excellent meal. The service was outstanding! Appetizers (fish cake and dumplings) were very good. Thai green tea was refreshing. However, the pad see ew was way, way too sweet as was the smoked chili sauce stir fry. Management/chefs - if you are reading this please consider reducing the sweetness in your dishes. Everything else was great - ambiance included (Christmas music was a nice touch). But I couldn't finish the noodles because it was like eating dessert. Maybe the curries aren't overly sweet but given the prices I'm not sure I am willing to take the chance. read more

My wife and I stumbled upon this restaurant and we could not be more happy that we did. What a "charming" place. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the papaya salad, drunken noodles and red curry (the latter two with tofu). Each was freshly and carefully prepared. Flavors were exquisite. Kudos to the chef and kitchen staff. Service was friendly and attentive. Contrary to some other reviews, the wait for our order was not unreasonable - and the place was pretty busy, including a fair amount of take out orders. If wait problems existed before, they don't exist now. Because we had no reservation we sat at the bar/counter. It was very comfortable. My wife appreciated a little hook for her purse. My only issue was that I had a view of food coming out of the kitchen and I kept interrupting our conversation to say "oh, that looks good, we should try that!" We look forward to our next visit. After my first 5 star experience and yelp review, we wanted to celebrate a special day at Charm Thai. Went there with the same expectations of having some yummy Thai food. Even though I understand it was a Saturday night, the service was extremely slow. And we got our food after approximately 45 minutes. The Drunken noodles were alright. The fried rice tasted like just white rice with some veggies and raw cherry tomatoes on it. Absolutely NO FLAVOR. In their defense, they did offer to fix it but it was still very mediocre. I only give one star because I cannot give zero. On Friday, 11/22/2024 I placed an order for peanut curry with seafood at 6:10 PM at which time I was told the order would be ready in 35 minutes. I arrived at the restaurant at roughly 6:45, the hostess asked my name, said nothing and went about her business as there were several tables and two other people waiting for takeout. I took a seat and waited, 10 minutes later the hostess asked my name again, said nothing and again, went back to work. I forgot my phone in the car so was not aware that 35 minutes had passed, and it was now 7:20, one hour and 10 mins passed the time I was told my order would be ready. At that point I decided I was done, got up and left. At 7:45 I got a message my food was ready. Now, I understand that things happen, orders get misplaced, etc.... But no one addressed me during the 35 minutes I sat there staring at the TV. I simply do not understand how you can allow a customer to sit for so long and not say anything and then have the unmitigated gall to text and hour and a half later. If had wanted to eat dinner at 8:00 PM I would have gone home and cooked myself. Or, if your kitchen is short staffed be honest and say it is going to be an hour or more giving me the option. I had lunch there with a party of four celebrating a birthday. While we all liked our dishes, the portions are very small and the prices too high for lunch, compared to other Thai restuarants in the area. The biggest issue was that they don't serve a table all at one time. We received our lunches one at a time, with a 5-10 minute wait in between. The first person served asked them to take hers back and bring them together and our server said they bring everything as it's ready so it's hot. WHAT?? Do they only have a one-burner stove and no heat lamps in the kitchen?? After 2 meals had been served, we insisted they start, and not wait for the last two. By the time the last meal was served, they were nearly finished and the birthday guest of honor ended up eating alone. Will not go back unless I am alone. Really wanted to like this place, so it makes me sad to leave this review. I now see other people have had the same problem. read more

Went to lunch today in a group of four. Two ordered meals, two ordered appetizers as meals, and we specifically asked that everything be served together (as previous experience and multiple reviews here have shown they don't seem to make an effort to serve a table together). In spite of our request, they brought out the two hot appetizers. After waiting over 5 minutes, we asked about the other two meals, and reminded her that we had asked to be served together. She apologized, went to kitchen, brought out one meal, and said the other would be ready "soon". I suggested the three with meals not wait, and start eating. The one who had ordered the chicken satay cut into a strip, and it was RAW. Told server, who took it away. Finally brought the fourth lunch, and after another five minutes, brought back the chicken satay blackened to a crisp. It was 30 minutes from the time first person got food until all four of us had something. Three of us did finally have very good food, but a bad experience. This is the worst Thai restaurant I have ever visited. The service is deplorable. We reserved a table and when we entered, it was the only table that was not prepared. I had a bottle of wine and had to ask twice for glasses. The waitress was apparently a teenager and knew nothing about serving. I ordered "Vegan Soup" and it was a tiny bowl of raw vegetables and tofu in an insipid, unseasoned broth. I asked for some chili sauce and she brought "Duck sauce". We ordered dumplings and they were cold, apparently just out of the fridge. Then we ordered a "Chef's Special" which was fried rice with a couple of chopped vegetables and mushrooms with four or five tough shrimps and three or four small scollops, and a couple pieces of squid. It had virtually no spice flavor and no chili, so I had to go ask for a small cup of hot sauce. The price was $52.00 which was about what I would have paid for a similar table, plus dessert at a good restaurant, like Pad Thai in the Wegman's plaza. I'll not be returning. read more
