I'm a fan. This place is cute and reasonable plus I can see this being a local hangout for teens on the weekends. It is quite spacious despite how it may look from the outside. One scoop of ice cream costs $3.18. It's a hefty scoop at that. They offer a variety of flavors, but it would seem they offer limited changing flavors daily. Sandwiches are pretty overpriced. They're regular old Boar's Head deli sandwiches with meh bread (especially the panini, which used some kind of store-bought flat bread). The pesto / tomato / mozzarella panini was extremely greasy (not the best pesto ever), and for almost $10 a sandwich you'd expect better. The ice cream is decent though. It's really a tourist trap kinda place. I'd recommend going elsewhere but you could do worse. read more

The atmosphere is not nearly as neighborhoody and comfortable, my panini was cold and my wife's baked potato was the size of a large grape.....seriously - it was like a tiny new potato. Don't come here expecting 31 flavors. They have a feature flavor each day plus vanilla, chocolate and a sorbet. They were serving peanut butter the day we arrived and it was delicious. Along with their sweet treats, they have coffee and a deli. I had the soup and the cafe au lait. I liked the soup quite a bit and it eased my hunger. I was driving from DC to Nemacolin and stopped in Cumberland for lunch. I had the BLT and chili. The BLT was nothing special. Every ingredient could probably be improved a bit. It was kinda low on bacon and needed more mayo. The bacon was crisp but I needed more. Just a flat sandwich. The chips they come with were not very salty. The chili was very watery and I was really hoping for a thick stew like chili. It was also very under seasoned and it did not come with any toppings like cheese, onion, or sour cream. If I have one lunch recommendation it's to get the chicken noodle soup which looked homemade and full of chicken and noodles. The stand out is the ice cream which was very tasty. I had the black cherry. Delicious. Parking was also confusing. There are some 30 min spots in front and garage around the corner. We parked on the reserved side of the garage and it was very stupid and confusing for a small town. read more

Homemade and decent flavors, in fact I think? it's mostly custard, but the best part is the actual bar. There's an area where you can sit on bolted stools in front of a mirror, much like an old school soda jerk era lunch counter. It totaly adds to the ambience and take in as you sit with your friends and/or family in front, swallowing large scoops of ice cream while shooting the breeze. I have come here twice now. Each time I come, I get a scoop of the flavor of the day on a homemade cone. I really like the taste of the homemade cones, and it is really fun to watch them being made if you happen to catch it. The most recent flavor I got was Reece's pieces, which were delicious because they also included some chopped peanuts to the mix. It was not overly sweet, which I was a little afraid of given the candy inspiration. Every time I am in Cumberland, I visit, snow or shine. It is on the pricier side but considering the small batch handmade nature of the ice cream and cone, I feel that it is worth it. read more
