This place is the spot! I walked in just casually shopping and walked out with my favorite pair of sunglasses ever and a new favorite shop. I don't break or lose a lot of sunglasses especially when I spend more money on them. The cheap $20-$50 glasses never hold up. Luckily I talked with the very friendly staff and they turned me onto a brand Vuarnet. LIFE CHANGING!! They are now my favorite brand and I will never go too far away. The quality and craftsmanship warrants price. Not to mention they are unique and get compliments all the time. The staff here are unbelievable and really stand by their products and make you feel secure dropping some extra money on some shades. Highly recommend! read more

As an avid glasses connoisseur, my husband takes great pride in finding the finest quality spectacles out there. he loves with optical neuritis which poses a lot of unique needs in his optical care, services and products. Now about the people and the products at this lovely shop. Love the people there so much that hubs will spend an hour just chatting with Scott, Ganon and Eric. Dr. Toppen is great and takes time to patiently answer your questions. Never felt rushed, I Scott is fantastic and basically takes u from the the doc to your perfect set of glasses. The frames I fell in love with at this shop are made by Jacques Marie Mage. These frames are unlike any other designer frame I have had. You can feel the quality immediately. Scott also has gotten me several pairs of a Vuarnet prescription mineral lenses from France. If u have bad vision and have never tried mineral lenses, then I highly recommend it. This is NOT the typical Eye Care provider. First of all, the shop is really cool! With a very modern style, open spaces, and the display of the glasses, it looks more like an art gallery! I got my eye exam from Dr. Toppen, he was super helpful and made the whole process really easy! I have a very low prescription, but decided to look for glasses and try several on. Scot really helped me choose some glasses that I really loved, so I ended up getting them! The full process is very personalized, you will get assistance through out the whole thing and never feel like you don't know what to do. At the end of the day, you'll probably end up getting some glasses which are also so cool, because you get the help and feedback, and you can feel confident that the glasses you end up choosing will look great on you! Wow. I just haven't been in an optical shop with such great service and finely curated selection in a very long time. Was headed for a Grateful sandwich across the street and noticed the new sign. I wandered in and was immediately greeted by Scott. I browsed and he filled me in on the unique stories of the hand crafted brands they carry. Scott helped me do the dance through several pair before settling on a sweet pair of Hamilton's from Haffmans & Neumeister. Then Dr Toppen took over to check the current state of my prescription. I must admit, I am a spectacles snob. I've had to wear glasses since I was in the third grade-- Sears is where I got those very un-special glasses. Ugh. As I evolved into a wise adult, I eventually realized that glasses are cool. Glasses are a fun accessory. I've been to my share of hip optical boutiques, in a variety of cities. None have compared to Scot and Dr. Toppen at Queen City. I went there on my birthday during COVID, which is a very strange time to shop for birthday glasses. Scot and Dr. T knew it was my birthday, so they made it fun and festive for me and my small pod of birthday celebrators. Queen's environment is spacious, bright, and easy to move about. Scot will get to the kernel of what's important to you quickly. And then pull out so many frames that look great on you, it will be hard to decide which ones you want! So, yep, I couldn't decide, so I got two frames that I love after Scot crunched some numbers. And they are so worth it. I love them. The space that this new optical shop is in is gorgeous and it's located in a super fun part of town. Honestly though, while the space is fantastic and very comfortable to shop in, the service and selection of frames are what really make this place stand out. Looking at all of the stunning eye-wear is fun and the frame selection in the shop is perfectly curated. Even more important (for me), Scot guided me away from frames that, while beautiful, weren't a great fit and helped me find the perfect pair of glasses (2 pairs, actually...I couldn't resist) for me. I'm always relieved when a shop owner gives me an honest and informed opinion, and that's crazy-important when it comes to glasses! The entire shopping experience from start to finish was fantastic.
