Spontaneously stumbled upon Queen Kabob. First off, the owner was the sweetest woman I have ever encountered in food service, very welcoming and heart warming. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma, when I tell you this is the best Syrian shawarma I have ever had. Hands down a true hidden gem. My mom sister and I were driving on De Soto and saw a bright sign that showed Queen Kabob. We decided to to try it since it's not a Mediterranean chain restaurant. Greeted when we first walked in, they had mentioned it they have only been open for a little over a week. They have some sweets on the sides (baklava and date stuffed cookies). We got chicken Shawarma, beef Shawarma & chicken kabob plate. They were really big portions. My mom and were only able to finish half of each sandwich that's how big the shawarma is. Both chicken and beef shawarma were absolutely delicious and authentic. The chicken plate was also good, it comes with chicken, rice, hummus, grilled jalapeño and salad, and we got garlic on the side. The skewers of chicken were tender and moist. The hummus is silky smooth you can tell it's freshly made. The sweets were so good, the baklava was crunchy and sweet. They have a lot of vegetarian options too, which was good to know . Mjadarra (rice and lentil dish ), hummus, salad, mozzarella sticks, falafel and baba ghanouj are a few i saw. I love supporting small businesses so I'm glad to have this one close to home. read more

The first time I ate here all I could think about is coming back. Came here with my family and boy did we feast. We ordered the Arayes Hummus Yalanji Cheese roll Soup of the Day ( might have to go back everyday of the week to see what's new) Queen Combo and more. Well, I did have a 1 star experience my first time there, and they deserved it. BUT, as you know, it is not the full picture of a restaurant with one visit, as there are a number of people & variables involved that make a place run well. That usually starts from a good leader. it looks like the places attitude has shifted! And the food has also done a 180! I get a sense of more honesty...And the food? It was honestly very good! We tried to order the same things... Items: 1. Falafel plate...Falafels crispy crunch on outside, nice and moist inside. Good flavor, with THICK nice tahin. Side of pickled turnips and pickles. Now, if I didn't have a tabouli in my order, this would have been dry with no parsley or tomatos. It was sitting in a little lettuce, which I discarded. Lettuce has no business with falafel. You need the mineral flavors of parsley with tahin and the cold refreshing tomato in a falafel sandwich or plate. Anything else is your choice, but should not be the default. Next! 2. French fries well done were very good. 3. Tabouli was perfectly chopped, with the perfect amount of cr4acked wheat. It can use more lemon less oil(yes, I squeesed in the 4 little pieces on the side of the plate), but very good. 4.Hummus and mutabel/AKA babaganoush... These were both hits! Hummus was not easy to stop eating. Super creamy. Only thing I would upgrade is drizzle of olive oil, and add some Aleppo pepper on top. Regardless, very good! 5. Filet beef and chicken kebab was tender and juicy. Rice was excellent. 6. Beef burger was also a winner. 7. Then, the one queen that was working there, she brought us a couple desserts. The crepe with creamy cheese filling. Now this was really good, as it was crispy, and it tasted fresh, but I doubt they make that in-house. It was yum! It is a order at counter and then plates come to you, and it was very good service at that. QK is NOW a great option in the north west valley for Middle Eastern food. Prices are a bit up. What you'd expect in this economy & decent food, but, not a lunch everyday. Go with a few friends for a very casual lunch(interior is very basci) so you get to try options, or enjoy what you might already like. I think with a few tweaks this can be a easy 5star. read more

In a small strip mall near the post office on Devonshire, the dining room is not fancy, but seems the place is more geared to takeout or delivery. The food is delicious and good portions. I ordered the beef kabob plate and it was delicious. It came with 2 kabobs that were flavorful and tender. The chicken plate was very tasty as well. They came with hummus, pita, rice and salad. Tried this place today and got the chicken shish kabob sandwich. The chicken was so moist and seasoned so well with a hint of bbq smoke. The pickled vegetables and garlic sauce made it even better. I really wanted to like this place and wanted a change from my normal lunch menu, but the food just didn't cut it. The fries tasted like they had been sitting in a freezer for way too long--hard as a rock and not the kind of crunch anyone wants. Pretty sure I could've used them to build something. The beef tasted like it took a long nap in the freezer before getting a quick wake-up call in the microwave. Chewy, dry, and definitely not fresh...reheated for sure....chicken was just ok. The place was clean (they also just opened a few months ago), and the service was just ok....you cant expect much service for counter order take to your table kind of place. If I ever come back, it'll only be for a drink--just to help me forget. I'll give them 2 stars only cause they just opened and maybe they'll get better. read more
