Took the Grands last night. The GS continues to amaze me with his willingness to try new foods. He had Lobsrter ravoli with chicken fried alligator for the appetizer. I have been here several times since it reopened. I have had brunch, lunch, and dinner there. I have not been disappointed yet, I have had the steak, quiche and chicken and loved everything. I just heard about this place a few weeks ago but today I was fortunate enough to have lunch there. Great place! Started with a small bowl of their house made chips w/ Bleu Cheese dressing as a dip...very tasty. The soup de jour was cream of broccoli and it was as good as any I have had at a much better price and the cup was the perfect size. My lunch companion decided on the Royal burger and I had the Croissant Chicken Salad. We were both well pleased...definitely A+ in our opinion. My lunch companion finished with the key lime pie w/ just a little raspberry on top and the bite I stole was wonderful and I'm not a raspberry guy at all. It was a great place-wonderful atmosphere, great service, and great company to top it all off. Palestine has a great place for lunch at very reasonable prices...I'm looking forward to making it back soon for dinner...I can't wait. read more

Even though it is reservation only, the atmosphere isn't stuffy. We had the mushroom napoleon to start. The Sioux Chef came to the table to discuss our dinner. Wait staff was very friendly. Lovely atmosphere and the price for the quality of food was astonishing. I'd put this little gem up to almost anywhere in Dallas! Tomahawk Chop, salmon and filet were all mouth watering. A rare find! Close your eyes and you would think you are seated in a fine dining establishment in any major city, but you are not! You are in historic Palestine, Texas. The food was delicious, the ambiance eclectic, the service fabulous. Worth a trip to Palestine just to eat hear. Extensive great wine list. This experience ranks right up there with Best Ever! Sampled most of the appetizers, soup & salads, and several entrees. Not a bad one in the bunch. Truly wish this was in the metroplex but then we would have missed a charming weekend. read more

After reading the previous 3 reviews (which are quite funny), I find it hard to believe that you can write about a place without ever eating there or experiencing what they offer. Compelling me to write my own. This place has it all! Completely chef driven which means he can only handle so many people per hour as explained to us by the chefs wife, who by the way, manages the service staff and is very accommodating. If you're in the mood to start your night off with a cocktail, she makes a great martini! There's only 1 chef cooking your food to order so even though there my be some empty tables, it doesn't mean they are not reserved for we stayed the better part of 2 1/2 hours "dining". Our meals were beautifully presented and of exceptional quality. One of the best steaks I have ever had! If you didn't know any better, you would have thought you were in any major metropolitan area in the U.S.. The service staff is very well trained evident in the way we were treated. The wine list was very nice and found out at the end of our meal that they would be expanding it even further. The next time we are coming thru East Texas, we will not hesitate to stop back in. read more

Best white tablecloth restaurant in East Texas. Finer eating, especially beef and fish, than Bernard's and Currents (my favs in Tyler). I have never been disappointed in a meal. I love this restaurant. Everything I (or anyone i was dining with) have ever ordered here was perfect. Many times the dish is declared the best they have ever eaten! Atmosphere is very classy and non pretentious. Food is as good if not better than any high end restaurant in a big city. We ate at the Red Fire Grille for the first time last night. We found a well appointed, cozy decor. The staff was friendly. The place was not crowded, however the service was VERY slow. The waitress advised that the restaurant was closing the next day for a two week vacation, thus, they were "out" of several entrees. That was fine, but after 2 drinks and 45 minutes we were told they were also "out" of the appetizer we ordered. We were really hungry when the salads arrived after almost an hour. The food was very good and we would return to dine again. However, I would hope the staff at the Red Fire Grille will work on their organizational skills! read more

The food, the service, the decor.... blew me away!!! Truly a hidden gem, my husband and I sought out this place in Palestine while traveling East from Austin. The food is world-class. The level of execution in each of he dishes we sampled was on par with meals that I've had in many other larger cities like New York, Rome and Seattle. The restraint the chef uses with what would be otherwise overpowering ingredients shows a level of appreciation for quality that can be hard to come by in this part of Texas. The Chicken Liver Pate paid homage to East Texas... the grilled bread, peach chutney and pickled onions instantly took me to a backyard BBQ and the house made ravioli sausage dish was somehow delicate yet assertive all at once. The desserts are quite lovely. Our server was incredibly professional, kind and charming. My husband and I will always find a way to stop in Palestine to eat here. It's worth any trek... read more

Just returned (21 July 2018) from dinner with spouse, son and his spouse. All the glowing reports are justified. Wonderful menu, excellent service, beef cooked to perfection. Daughter-in-law had a pot pie - superb, great crust. Rib-eye that I had was very good. Would suggest some European red wines be added to menu but the red that we had was very good and reasonably priced. We will return soon and often. It's really the only offering of its kind in Palestine. Very much appreciate it's being there, will help to ensure it stays. read more

The Red Fire Grille is awesome and epic! I know because I live here and have enjoyed eating there on many occasions. I know the outstanding chef, Christian, and his hard-working wife, Dawn, who choreographs the delivery and enjoyment of his artfully delicious creations in the most pleasant of settings. Imagine my sadness when a friend from the city visited last night and I called to make a last-minute reservation but Dawn was unable to accommodate us. A busload of diners from Tyler were there for a special five course food wine pairing apparently! Before I had time to make other arrangements she called me back with a cancellation and we could come at 8 pm. We had a wonderful meal and I woke up this morning still smiling. I had the Colorado Lamb which was perfectly prepared and accompanied by a nice Cabernet. My wife and our friend had the crab gnocchi which was delicious. Of course, we started off with two wonderful appetizers, a tuna tartare and a chicken pate. My arugula and pear salad was a perfect beginning and I finished up with a blended berry crisp that was amazing. So amazing in fact that the last diner leaving to get on the bus was so enchanted she had to take me up on an offer for a taste. We all shared our collective "after dinner glow" of having experienced something truly special that evening. We were concerned the bus would leave her but she smiled, took another bite of dessert, and told us the driver was her husband! Red Fire Grille is an elegant restaurant with culinary creations that linger in your memory far longer than your stimulated taste buds can persist. But more than that, it's a place where they'll call you back and the other diners have that East Texas charm that truly is a difficult recipe to replicate. read more

What a find! This lovely"high end" dinner spot was such a surprise. We wanted to celebrate our anniversary with something special and went there on a whim! So glad we did. It felt like a slice of northern coastal New England to me--with class and rustic flare. Beautifully decorated, white linens, excellent service and food. We had the escargot which was amazing. The Duck and Steaks were outstanding. I hope the people of Palestine visit this wonderful place as it rivals anything one can find in Dallas or Houston! Several of us came for a funeral from out of town. We called and the lady that answered the phone said we can't seat 20 of us, and to go somewhere else. She was very unprofessional and rude. For a restaurant to tell you go somewhere else is a puzzle to me. I would eat here if I was a party of one! read more

Excellent dining experience and beyond delicious food! This was our first visit to Red Fire Grille, but will not be the last. My husband had the fillet and I had the flat iron steak and we were both extremely satisfied. Each was cooked to perfection with outstanding flavor. The peach herbal tea was delightful with ice cubes made of frozen tea. We chose bread pudding for dessert and enjoyed it as well.
