The fees are outrageous and the service is not friendly. I went in for routine yearly blood panels. The charge was going to be $899.95. I was shocked. I am a cash patient. I don't use my insurance for this type of service. I went to Southwestern Medical Lab (581-1181) and got the same exact blood work done for $253. Quest is unbelievablely overpriced and even though they charge a lot, there's no way to even call and speak with someone at this location. The automated phone service does not allow for that. The service in office is considered quite efficient and good. However, the results are still not available after one week by visiting myquest site. There is no way to reach a person to help, other than submit a request ticket. Who knows anybody inside the company will even take a look the customer's request and respond in time for my coming annual checkup. read more

Slow as molasses. You call their number and they say appointments aren't necessary. But when you get there, they make you wait forever. This location is too small and the employees jerk around too much, more work and less talk and grabbing ass would do the work. read more

Not much to like here. I usually go to LabCorp, but my MD called in an order, so I had to go to Quest. Made an appointment, and they took me quickly (the only real positive). Personnel drew from a capillary, resulting in a bruise. More than a week later, I am still waiting for online results. I emailed, and LabCorp responded by stating that under California law, they had to wait 7 days. This was wrong in two ways. First, it had been more than 7 days already. Second, California law absolutely does not require them to wait 7 days except for some very limited infectious disease testing (this was routine base metabolic). LabCorp gives me online results in 2-3 days. No more Quest for me. read more

And it's been a week since the blood test but I still have this huge bruise on my arm bcos technician had such a bad technique. It was soooooo painful I almost screamed. The most unorganized office I've ever visited. I had an appointment for 10 AM, signed in at 9:55. There were no seats left in the waiting room, so I waited outside. I get a call at 10:15 asking to come back in and provide my insurance card, which I did so immediately. Then waited another 30 minutes, standing in front of the desk for someone to even notice I was there. Finally got someone to help me and was taken back to a booth. I was asked, "Are you fasting?" Um, no honey, I'm pregnant just like the order form says in front of you. Was told I needed to leave a urine sample, which I replied "Wish I knew that, I've been waiting so long, I just went to the bathroom." Then the technician said she needed to go on her lunch, so I was left waiting there in the booth again for someone else to help me. She wanted to send me to the restroom for my urine sample, which I reiterated that I had just went, I'm going to need something to drink. New technician comes and she asks me if my blood goes to the state. How should I know that?!? Isn't that what the clear-as-day paperwork is for? Also found out that the first technician almost filled my blood in expired tubes from 13 DAYS AGO. She says, "10/31/2020? Has that already passed?" I can't. I am completely understanding of the fact that they may be understaffed and busy due to COVID. But nothing about my experience made me feel like I was being cared for. Do yourself a favor and choose another office. The longer drive will be worth the smoother appointment. read more

The work flow is this office is impressive. My primary care physician ordered routine lab tests, and without an appointment, I was interviewed within 20 minutes of my arrival. There is adequate parking next door and I was out the door within 45 minutes of my arrival. read more

Excellent experience. Scheduled a walk-in on Thursday morning. Only had to wait about 15 minutes once I arrived. Was treated by Rifka, who was very pleasant. Her blood draw was painless and quick. Once she brought me back to the room, I was done in 10 minutes. I wasn't expecting great service, since I was trying a day-of walk-in, and it could not have been better or more convenient. Impressed. Didn't have an appointment and even though I thought I'd wait for a long time since there was 5 people ahead of me, it went real quick. The staff was very friendly and the remodel very nice. They are very efficient and I like how one person assists with both the blood draw and payment all while you are sitting in the chair (where they draw your blood). Can't ask for more. DO NOT GET STAR TO DRAW BLOOD! Horrible experience getting lab drawn by Star in the 1st room. 1st off I'm very sick in cancer testing, and prob don't have much time on my side. I didn't have my new Medicare card and she Began basically giving me crap about not being able to draw my blood even though the info was in the system. She then didn't know any of the tests that I needed, and had to call someone to find it in computer. Then, I made Star aware that I was a hard stick, and she commented that she "doesn't ever use butterfly's as they go to slow", and preceded to stick me with a strait needle. While she was in fishing for the vein, she began talking to someone else, not even looking at the vein while she was moving around which made it very painful. She then took it out, and proceeded to look for another vein. I asked again for a butterfly as I was in a coma for a month and basically live at hospitals due to my illness, and know what nurses use on my so that I don't get poked 3 times like I did today. She then went into another vein, and missed it again. I then asked her nicely if the other girl drawing blood was any good, she gave me Any good, stating "we're both good" with a major attitude. I then got upset, as her attitude the entire time made me start to cry and waited for the other girl working to give me my 24 hour Irvine tests. As I was leaving I asked for her name, but she refused to give it to me and just ignored me. I really don't understand why people are in a profession that they hate and due to this they take it out on the patients who need care the most. This girl seriously needs to get a new profession, as ever-time I have came to get my blood done here, I've always heard her loud overbearing voice and her attitude is just pure and utterly nonsense. Management, get rid of this girl, she doesn't appreciate her job, and takes it out on the patients. Will not be going back to this lab, even though it's across the street from my house, because I don't want to encounter this horrible lady ever again. read more

Agree with other negative reviews. The worst Quest location ever. The lab technician was extremely rude, aggressive, and dropped the tubes on the floor and picked them up and didn't grab new gloves. She yelled at me in a threatening manner many times while rolling her eyes. Can't believe they hired this kind of person to face patients. read more

Compared to other labs this one gets *****! Unfortunately I have had my fare share of needles and feel like I am the queen of blood draws. This Quest is always quick, friendly and really good at finding a good vein that doesn't hurt... *HINT* if you don't have to fast for your test go around 10:30-11am I have always just walked in during this time... Right when they open is busiest because this is when all the fasters run in so they can get their test done then go eat. read more

My initial phlebotomist was Dan and he seemed new and unsuccessful at first attempt; so Star came in. She came in with a scowl and clearly made it known she was annoyed to have to come in and help. She was already implying by the look on her face she wasn't going to get it but I told her to think positive and she rolled her eyes. She was unable to get enough blood and proceeded to blame me because I was dehydrated. She also blamed me for too many tests ordered at once. Unbeknownst to her I am a physician and know that blaming a patient for you not being able to draw blood from dehydration is completely false. I had to get my lab work that day due to the doctor needing it at a particular time for accurate interpretation. Star told me that I have to reschedule and go somewhere else but advised against it doing it the same day because I was dehydrated and I needed to hydrate myself for 24 hours and my veins were blown and it's a "no-no" to try again. She had a very arrogant tone. Right after I left this lab I drove to another quest lab walk in and the phlebotomist was able to get my blood right away filling numerous tubes, all without "rehydration". And from the SAME vein that Star said I shouldn't get blood drawn from it because it blew. My advise is to have your phlebotomists stop blaming patients for being dehydrated when they are unsuccessful at drawing blood and blaming patients for the numerous tests their doctors ordered. Just apologize and move on. Star's technique also was poor as she went into my vein with needle nearly parallel to my arm, as oppose to 45 degree angle the successful phlebotomist did. Dan was training under her and was not setting a good example. read more

I highly discourage using this lab for children or for adults who are the least bit anxious about getting blood drawn. Their bedside manner is cold, rude and argumentative. We went in the afternoon and there was no wait to be seen. My son is usually in good health and rarely has blood drawn so he was very anxious about getting blood labs drawn. Unfortunately, our experience with the phlebotomist made my child even more anxious with her poor social skills and lack of warmth. And as someone who has had a lot of labs drawn for medical problems, by my measure her technique drew out the length of the blood draw process unnecessarily adding to the stress of the experience. Sure, this lab is conveniently located in Aliso Viejo. If you are experienced at getting labs drawn and you just need to get the labs done and get on with your life, then go for the convenience. If you still value the care and compassion of a skilled nurse or phlebotomist, seek another lab. read more

Visited Quest March 6th. I arrived at around 7:15. The waiting room was not yet opened. When the doors opened at 7:30 there as a mad rush to get in line. Hello adults...first in first in line. I did not have an appointment and neither did the people in front of me. Registering was easy. Grabbed a seat and waited for my turn. The television did display patient order so you knew where you were in line. I was prepared to be there for at least two hours....I didn't have an appointment. Michael was great at taking information and letting people know they were going as quickly as they could and would get to us. The area was clean. Star was the one who drew my blood. She did chastise me for not drinking water and told me why it's important. I guess if I would have checked the website, I would have known....my fault. I had a little bruising afterwards but that's normal for me. Nothing out of the ordinary happened during my visit so I'm not so sure why she is getting such negative feedback. I wasn't very friendly toward her because I don't do well with blood..I would definitely ask for her if I had a choice. I was out by 8:20. All in all, this was a good experience. I left off a star because it would be nice if people could start registering at 7. If I ever need to do this again, this is where I will go. read more

Maybe I went in at a great time. I didn't have an appointment. My technician, Tara D. was very polite and friendly. She seemed to have a great sense of humor. I like people who are "people people". Meaning if you are going to be in a job where your job is to interact with people, you should be nice and friendly and not make people feel like they are bothering you to do your job.
