I dealt with a horrible ear infection for 3 days to come in and see a physician for 2 minutes only to be told I have an ear infection and there's nothing they can do. It ended up lasting for two weeks and I had to go get drops somewhere else which is what I needed from the get go. Then, about two months later I receive a bill in the mail for $80. I paid my copay there and verified they were in net work and, received no extra exams or anything and they billed my insurance $268. I called the billing department and tried to get a breakdown but it never went anywhere and I just had to pay the bill. Could be a great place but will never go back due to the billing issues.

I had to return yesterday and the nurse practitioner Kristin was so kind and listened to my concerns and really showed great quality of care. Sicily is a wonderful medical assistant. I am happy with my general practioner that isn't associated with Gateway, but Kristin properly diagnosed me with bronchitis. My general practioner diagnosed me with pneumonia, but Kristin wondered why my general practitioner never did a chest xray before diagnosing me with pneumonia. Yesterday, Kristin gave me a chest X-ray and breathing treatment as well as prescribing me meds for my horrible cough. I will definitely return to Gateway in the future for my medical needs.

The providers didn't seem to listen or validate what I was experiencing. Communication was also poor. I left a voicemail and didn't receive a timely callback, and when I finally did, the response came across as rude and unsupportive. Overall, it felt more focused on getting patients in for additional visits than actually providing quality care. What makes this more frustrating is that my husband and I had just established care here and completed physicals on the family practice side. I rarely have medical issues and try to handle things the right way, so this experience was disappointing. I'll be continuing care with another office who actually listens, and my family will be finding a new primary care provider and urgent care moving forward.

Despite even more ER visits and more appointments, I was told I am basically fine. The surgery did not take because my hip and back are causing the hernia (which I was told by PC here was impossible). Second time I have surgery (3mo ago), the same thing happens. When I try to get help with that, they kicked me off the team! I have been through 5 primary cares and anytime you push them to help, they kick you off the team and send you to the next "Primary Care Provider" who is basically a glorified nurse placed into a Dr's role so that they have no authority. Meanwhile, I am left to suffer with no support.

Use this as a massive warning! (And I am seeing others comment in these reviews similarly.) Circumstance 1: I went in to the Urgent Care for a UTI and was charged, using insurance, $812.00 just for a dip stick urine test and under a 2 minute doctor consultation to write me an RX. My insurance paid $7.37 total because they said that is the cost of a test. That makes sense. So what is left is costing me over $400 a minute for help for face to face care with a doctor. Circumstance 2: I went to the same Urgent Care (didn't have the bill for the previous one, otherwise I would not have gone) for bronchitis and a sinus infection. Again, heart rate, bp, and a stethoscope to my chest was all that was done, in addition to the prescription to take to a local pharmacy (no xrays or anything like that). This one was charged $528...so over $150 per minute to be face to face with a doctor. Both times I went, I was the ONLY patient in the waiting room (and didn't see one in the main part of the rooms). It's not like I was at a high peak time even. Why weren't others there...probably because they have read so many poor reviews unlike I did. I was telling this with a friend of mine and she told me that this happened to her as well (same location for an ear infection), resulting in an outlandish bill, so I am not the only person that this has happened to. I have called many times to get them to recode/adjust trying to dispute it even asking for the self payout, and they are not budging.They are standing behind their stomach-dropping fees. I will also say, I have gone to this location other times in past years for the same issues and never received such outlandish bills. It's as if they are treating this like an emergency room (and with my multiple phone calls the billing department employees keeps saying "ER"). I have driven by the place to make sure it didn't change to an ER and I mistakenly didn't notice, but the sign on the building (and the website) says Urgent Care.
