Being from out of town I think this is the coolest! A little grocery store with homemade food, outdoor/indoor seating and a dessert case! I felt like I walked into heaven. This kind of place is totally my jam! They have a wide variety of drinks and various snacks you can choose from, grab and go food and stuff they can make there. Decided not to go to Hillside Pharmacy because they only had the brunch menu unfortunately! We saw Quickie Pickie and decided to head on over. They have an incredible variety of national and international beers. I also appreciated the fact that they had a fridge where you could buy just a can. They also had a wide variety of red wines and non-alcoholic drinks. They provide free WiFi (password is winebeer) and have lots of seating inside and outside. This would be a great place to camp out with your computer and work offsite. There is a restaurant that serves hot food but you can also grab some quick refrigerated bites that are in a fridge on the right side of the place. I got the Waistline and it was pretty good, it was pretty dry. They serve their sandwiches with ruffle-style potato chips. I wouldn't come back for the sandwich but I do appreciate the beer variety! read more

I used to enjoy this place a lot with hefty sized tacos and good brew. Unfortunately, there are a lot of peddlers who come in to harass customers asking customers to buy them food. If you tell then no, they get in your face in an aggressive way. When sharing this feedback with staff (owner wasn't around to listen to my feedback) I just got a shoulder shrug and " We can't do anything about it. That's the way it is". I don't find this response acceptable as every business has a right to refuse service to anyone, especially when customers are being harassed. This place is basically a hipster convenience store coffee shop. I felt like a kid in a candy store shopping through their aisles of ice cream, healthy frozen foods, health bars, different jerkies, wine, and kombucha! I was very tempted to blow a lot of money here, and I wouldn't have even felt bad because of how healthy everything is. The prices are pretty reasonable, so you can get quite a bit here. There was even lamb jerky in bar form and I'm now obsessed with Kosmic Kombucha, which is brewed right in Austin. Matcha Peachu is a cleverly named flavor and delicious! I was happily surprised to have found Bobo's bar since I found them on Instagram literally the night before. The coffee was yummy and a lot of people seem to come here for brunch. The people here are incredibly sweet and represent Austin very positively. There's also a good amount of seating inside and outside, perfect for the absolutely beautiful day that it was. read more

I didn't quite know what to expect from this place since it was a convenient store/coffee shop/Taqueria. I was very pleasantly surprised! The coffee was excellent; they make fantastic cortados. The tacos Al pastor were fantastic!!!! I've not had tacos Al pastor this good since I backpacked across the state of Chihuahua, Mex. I travel a lot and have had tacos all across south and west Texas- these were the best! They are generous with portions too. I had been told years ago when visiting Austin to come check this place out, but it just never happened until recently when we were asked to meet some friends here for brunch. It is such an Austin spot. The inside is kind of like a bodega, but they have a working kitchen and coffee bar. We arrived 5min til 2PM when they switch to their afternoon menu. The girl behind the register told us to make a quick decision because once they put the breakfast stuff up they do not pull it out again even if you were in line. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese taco. This is my go to order when getting breakfast tacos. I had considered getting two, but I'm glad I didn't. Those things are loaded! I took advantage of the three different salsas that you can put on your tacos as well. Our group sat outside on the front porch. It was nice and seclusive. Many vegetarian options - the butternut, the big chz, the purple pickle, and the shuffle! I tried the big chz - a grilled pimiento cheese sandwich - pretty good! Sandwiches come with chips! They have coffee, wine, and beer! Coffee is by Counter Culture. And they have 24 taps - and focus on local and craft beers! (I'd love to go on a Thursday - because it's Pint Night!) They have a little fridge with things already prepared if you're in a super hurry. Then there's the store! Good place to grab things if you're in a hurry! Cons? Pricey. And parking, as usual - it's Austin after all - kind of sucks. They have a parking lot, but I was there picking up a sandwich at 2 pm. I've enjoyed their strip salad, tacos, breakfast bagel and now the house burger. Did you know they have happy hour burgers for $7 from 4-9pm? The burger was ok. I've had better but it's probably because I ordered it without the tomato spread. The fries were clearly frozen and not cooked all the way. The glass of rosé redeemed the meal though. Overall, semi so-so experience but I still come here every now and then. They do have a lovely patio which has redeeming qualities as well. read more

Came here to grab a quick lunch while my car was getting washed across the street. This place had 2 vegetarian taco options and I ordered both. The tacos themselves were decent -- the ingredients were fresh but the tacos were not flavorful unless salsa was added. Additionally, the salsas and the napkins, utensils, etc, were located in two different places, which was kind of confusing. I found myself looking around a bit to find each. Pretty solid spot depending on what you're looking for. I've never made use of their grocery function, but options seem limited, though I guess it's a convenient spot (instead of going all the way to an HEB or something). Didn't make note of the prices though. The food was fast and filling, prices are alright, just seems like a good place to drop by if you're in a pinch. Not a bad coffee/beer and work spot depending on what you are looking for. This place has a cool variety of groceries to choose from or a menu while you sit and do work. The environment is comfortable and casual. The chairs inside, however, are stools with no backs which is super uncomfortable when you work for long periods of time on your computer. Super cool pit stop for a quick beer or buying groceries or both. The staff didn't seem to be too inviting, but they were quite busy stocking the shelves and tending to the store itself. The beers on tap were great and very affordable. The grocery items were all slightly expensive, but were quite diverse - tons of vegan and dairy free ice cream options if that's your thing. This causes two things: 1) you lose business, like my friends and me. My boyfriend lives here in Austin and lives close by so Quickie Pickie is our go to spot for a quick beverage. We typically take walks here or scoot. I've read in some of the other reviews that the staff is rude, and unfriendly, but I've never experienced that at all. I've been here more than twice but sometimes forget my phone at home so didn't get to check in. There's always a girl who greets us and tells me I'm beautiful and the guy behind the counter is super polite as well. They always send us off telling us to have a great day. Haven't tried any of their food our buy anything else besides drinks, but I see lots of people eating and using the WiFi when we stop by. read more

Here are the things that make this place not cool at all. (Hope the management takes notes and do something to improve) 1- Service: rude staff. I'm not sure what is their problem, but they are not friendly, especially if you have any questions or need to modify something in your food order. I am not expecting to be treated like royalty, but with basic respect. Not sure whether this bad behavior is driven by bad management or poor recruiting criteria, but is certainly the # 1 issue. 2- Food: the food is not that bad, but is for whatever reason you need to modify and order, besides treated poorly, it will most likely not being addressed. Pickie, but not Quickie. I ordered a spinach salad with chicken to go. The salad is pre-fabricated and on display in a refrigerated case, but I had to wait more than 20 minutes to get it. When I did receive it I asked for utencils and napkins, and the cashier made sure I understood that 'forks and napkins' are over there, pointing to a undiscript corner. I had to tell her it was my first (and last) time here so I didn't know. I could expect high anxiety during lunch rush, but it wasn't busy as I went in at 1:30pm. I will admit that the salad was good, but not wait 20 minutes good, and the place does have a good assortment of draft beers, mostly craft beers. But I think they need to change their name from Quickie Pickie to Longie Waity. read more

What to say about this place? I went there for the first time last night and it's pretty hipster-heavy, which normally turns me off pretty quick but I was committed to checking out their 27-tap wall of beer. On the selection of beers on tap alone, I'm a fan of a quick drop-in on the way home from work (or another bar, as the case may have been last night). Pints will run you $5, with some of the premium beers running $5 a half-pint -- definitely worth it for a Houbon Chouffe or a Cuvee De Jacobins. They fill growlers as well, and you can also purchase bottles from the retail part of the store and have them uncork it for a $1 corking fee. They've got a decent selection of pub grub that won't break the bank, and their cafe-type food selection is evenly divided into morning, noon, and night menus. There are some noon menu items that I'd love to try in the evening, so I'm hoping the division isn't set in stone. Let's talk about beer for a moment -- they've got a ton of craft beer, from the US and abroad. A lot of Saisons and other Belgian styles, in big bottles and cans, in 4-packs and 6-packs. A lot of Austin and Texas craft beers well-represented. Most of the beer is chilled, but they've got a nice selection of beer on shelves as well. They've also got a couple racks of wine of various sorts, but I didn't take too close a look since that's not my thing, but it's nice to note for future parties and such. For the non-alcoholics in our midsts, there is also a nice selection of juices and kombucha. Prices for everything I saw seemed comparable to other establishments of this kind. I feel like the regular convenience store items I found here were thrown in almost as an afterthought -- the focus is definitely the beer and the cafe, but you'll also find a small display of your typical emergency convenience store needs if you feel the need to justify stopping in for a quick pint and nosh. I'm unclear about the one register set-up -- it's right by the door, but there's no real place to stand in line. I'll figure that out when the time comes to make retail purchases. For now, I'm happy with the register by the kitchen. Downside: what convenience store worth their salt opens at 8am? I can understand 6am or 630am being perhaps a little early, but 7am would fit perfectly with the working folk like me. A quick coffee, a taco from the kitchen (I didn't look closely at the offerings but I think I saw $3 tacos, so hopefully they're either pretty durned special or pretty durn big), and bing bang boom, off to work. 8am open time and they miss me. But clearly, this ain't about me. Upside: nice, clean bathrooms, though the electric hand dryer was kind of weak -- a slight breeze as opposed to a tornado, and there were no paper towels to wipe off the residual water, but my shorts worked well enough. When I stopped by, there were quite a few young families with kids and dogs, a few couples eating or drinking together, and a couple solo folks like me, presumably checking out the place. There was ample seating with tables inside, and a few seats and tables outside. Again, this place sold me on the fine selection of beers on tap, and the prospect of getting a couple growlers filled here makes me tingle. It's also nice to see beers on tap also available in the retail section, so if you really like something, you can grab it and go. read more

First off- it's super cool because it's a store but it's got over 20 beer taps or you can get a sick pack or single from the store cooler and drink it! (They also have wine) the food was amazing! I had the chicken tacos on corn tortillas, I comes with two tortillas so it really makes two tacos.
