The coffee is not just good but arguably the best in LA. Despite that, what makes this place so special and UNIQUE is the people working there making sure they deliver an experience that goes beyond tasty drinks

Cafe De Olla Latte, Americano, coffee cake & guayaba pastry
    Ruby M.

Amazing. Spectacular. Give me 14 of them right now. I would love to return a million more times! Best americano I've tried to date. The cafe de olla latte has some extra spices (e.g. orange) in it that makes the flavor more complex. The guayaba (guava) pastry was so flakey and delicious. The coffee cake is inspired by LAUSD - it was very fluffy & fresh!! Went in on a Wednesday morning & the service was very friendly. I noticed many items are labeled both in Spanish & English, which is admirable. This small business knows exactly the neighborhood they reside in, and they cater to the residents. The only thing I would change is moving this establishment closer to where I live! Kudos to Picaresca for being loud & proud about supporting human rights.

this is maybe my fourth time coming here, the service is always great and although the line looks long, it goes by quickly. I have never struggled to find seating, although parking is a mess. but the FOOD omg.. i have tried a couple of different items on the menu and i always go back to the green chilaquiles. the pino latte is also solid but i may prefer the de olla latte

Ive been wanting to try this place for the longest because I would religiously buy their beans when I first got my espresso machine and they were so good! I was in the area with my partner and we have both been wanting to try. First off its in a small corner and its street parking so keep that in mind. The inside was very nice and pretty! I love how their pretty vocal about the current issues happening right now. We ordered a burrito, a pino latte, and a cafe de olla latte. The burrito was okay! Not really a fan and there was only a small piece of bacon in there. The coffees, however were some of the best coffees in a long time like genuinely. It was a perfect balance of sweet and coffee and the flavor profile was just unique with el pino latte. Not too milky not too bitter but what an iced coffee should be. I 100% recommend !

I stopped by Picaresca Barra de Café for breakfast and coffee and had a good experience overall. I ordered the chicharrón breakfast burrito and it was tasty. The egg inside was over-easy, which gave it a unique flavor that I actually enjoyed. The only thing is the ingredients inside didn't feel evenly balanced in every bite, but it was still good. The café de la olla was really good, great flavor and a nice complement to the burrito. The salsa also stood out with the perfect level of spice. It's a pretty small spot, so parking is very minimal, but the food and coffee made it worth the stop. I'll definitely be back to try the chilaquiles and other breakfast burrito options.

Finally decided to try this cafe I always drive by since it's always busy. The employees were really sweet, and the decor inside is cute I like the atmosphere and the indoor/outdoor work space. We ordered the chilaquiles (they were ok, just drowned in sauce), the hash brown (weren't ready edible, they tasted like grease/bacon/and eggs almost as if the grill wasn't cleaned in between making breakfast for others). The coffee was okay, didnt seem strong. Just like a regular pick me up. I liked the cafe, but not sure if I need to head back.

No A/C inside ... about 95degree F today. Food is good. Service is good. Staff are friendly. Nice background music to create a nice vibe

I've been enjoying Picaresca's delicious drinks since 2022 when they were still at their first location by Sears tower. I'm incredibly pleased to see how they've gotten even better since they moved to their second location! Ambiance: Great! Good amount of seating especially for a smaller space. Love that they have indoor and outdoor seats. Their restrooms are always clean and I usually have an easy time finding parking within a block or so. They're also a very principled business, they often have cool community posters/art up! Service: The employees are nice, I like seeing new faces every time I stop by. Food & Drinks: As mentioned above, I've loved their drinks since 2022 and I can say they're still just as good as they were back then! Their previous spot had sandwiches and pastries that were decent, but the introduction of meals to their second location was actually SUCH an epic move. Now they have fabulous drinks and amazing food to pair it with! My favorite are the chilaquiles! I look forward to trying their newest location soon!

I was recommended this spot by a friend. The small spot is next to a park. Parking can be tricky since it's mostly street parking which tends to be packed. There is indoor & outdoor seating which is nice. I ordered the chilaquiles enfrijolados & a matcha. Both were 10/10. A yummy combo. This spot offers intriguing drinks which will make you come back to try them. The staff were open to questions. This business is also an important part of the community by voicing & advocating for those who can't. A business to truly support. I will definitely be back to try their other brunch options. Also, love the art!

Came here with my family for my birthday breakfast. We all enjoyed the food. I got chilaquiles and a matcha. I enjoyed the chilaquiles but they were definitely spicy for me. I ordered a bean cheese burrito as well. The burrito is made with black beans. The beans were very tasty. I was a fatty and added the chilaquiles sauce to the burritos and it definitely made the spicy level go down. We ordered French toast for the table and the meal came with strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. Come to this place to eat and support a local Latino business. There was a non-stop line the whole time we were here. Also, F&$k Ice!!!! This place does not support this administration which is a plus!!! Also, we were lucky to buy banuelos from a local vendor that went through the restaurant. We found out that they sell her bake goods at the cafe as well.

This spot has been on our list for quite a while and have been wanting to go again soon after trying it for the first time a few months ago. Here's what we ordered: **Cafe de Olla Latte: Solid drink. Flavor profile was very balanced. It's been hit or miss for cafe de olla drinks for me but this one hit the spot. If you're looking for a more basic signature latte, this one may be the right fit for you. (5/5) **Pino Latte: Gf loved this drink. I'm generally not a fan of rosemary but it was still very good. You can taste every flavors listed but what raelly stood out was the unique rosemary flavor - very earthy and refreshing. (5/5) **Tamarindo Tonic: I love a good espresso tonic but what's better than a simple ET? Something that's really unique like the tamarindo tonic served here. Loved every aspect of the drink from the tamarind & ginger syrups, their tonic water, and espresso. You can taste every single flavor listed and it was evenly balanced. It also came with a little spoon of that tamarind candy which was a nice little touch. Very refreshing and a great option for all you ET lovers out there! (5/5) Service was great. Line was out the door but it went by quickly. One thing we regret at the time was not ordering their food items because everything looked delish! The lot is very small so parking onsite is one in a million. We parked a few blocks away so that's your best bet unless you've won the lottery before. We will definitely be back. Picaresca is easy to miss but you should check it out for your next coffee adventure!

    Chilaquiles verde

This unassuming mint green building may not look like much from far away, but inside is one of the best cafes in the area! Parking is easy and plentiful (street only) unless you're lucky and can get one of the handful of spots in the lot. We ordered the machaca burrito, the breakfast burrito, the chilaquiles verde, and the evergreen latte. Everything was a hit!!! The chilaquiles came with a running egg on top and the salad was delicious. The chips were crispy and stayed crispy throughout the meal. The burritos were all soooo good. The cheese is used in both are special and from Mexico and made the burritos unique. The machaca was a real standout - almost smoky tasting and unlike anything I've had. There's plenty of seating outdoors and some indoors as well. The coffee was also great! We want to come back ASAP and try more drinks and the red chilaquiles.

    Matcha pineapple tonic
    Winnie L.

Picaresca is located in an unassuming mint-green house-like building. Upon entering, the staff was welcoming and courteous. The ambiance was clean and cozy, with indoor seating and a few tables outside. The only downside was that the music was a bit too loud, making conversations a little tough. I ordered the matcha pineapple tonic since I'd never seen that combo before. It's a sparkling matcha drink with pineapple syrup on the bottom, so it definitely needs a good mix. It was refreshing, but the matcha flavor was almost nonexistent. I also tried their Evergreen Matcha and felt the same. The matcha was very light, and the drink tasted mostly like milk. Parking is mainly street parking in the surrounding residential area, but it wasn't too bad. I found a spot about a four-minute walk away. There are also 2 spots at the front of the cafe.

You can really taste the quality in every sip, and it's clear they take their sourcing and preparation seriously. The minimalistic interior is also a plus for this location. It's a great space for studying, catching up with friends, or just taking a break. It's a spacious interior with much more seating compared to the Koreatown location.

8/4/2026 3 1/2 Stars…read more First time at Damo. MATCHA EINSPANER Very creamy matcha. Matcha flavor is there, but it's not distinct matcha where you can taste the nuances of the matcha flavors. The cream top does make it very creamy and it does mask majority of the matcha flavor. It did taste like a dessert drink. It was enjoyable though. COLD BREW VANILLA Weirdly sour and smoky flavored cold brew. Slight floral flavor too. It was such an odd combination of flavors with the vanilla cold foam. The lingering aftertaste was not good either. It's neither this nor that. Would not recommend! FINANCIERS Their financiers are made by a local bakery called Musk. It seems their financier flavors are changed often, so no same flavors are in rotation. Sausage & Parmesan - The almond cake's vanilla flavor with the sausage and salty parmesan was a unique flavor. The almond cake was nice and spongy. It did take a bit of time to get used to the savory flavors with the almond cake. It's like a breakfast in an unexpected way. Nutella - Buttery almond cake with nutella and roasted hazelnuts. Enjoyed it! I think Nutella fans would like it. Mugwort + Fig - Buttery in the beginning and it ends with a good, medium-strength flavor of mugwort. Fig was garnish on top, so you barely get it. However, I like that they added the sweetness of the figs with the earthy bitter mugwort. Overall, it was uniquely delicious and mugwort was the star. Yuza + Apricot - A tad sweeter than expected due to the outer brush of yuza aka yuzu simple syrup. Loved the chewy apricot on top. It really brought a lovely fruityness to the financier. The yuzu flavor was there alongside the butteryness of the almond cake. All the financiers were done well! Delicious! Recommend trying at least one when you're at this location. Not sure if their financiers are offered at their other locations. CUSTOMER SERVICE It was good. Not terribly friendly, but still answered my questions. Staff were all busy making the drinks. AMBIANCE + SEATS Really large space with rows of tables and chairs. It was strange walking in and seeing various tables and seats to one side and it almost looked like a cafe used as office space. Seeing all the people sitting down on their laptops or talking, as though they're having a casual business meeting there. It was just strange. The tables were mixed wooden tables and chairs. There were long benches too for people waiting for takeout orders. The large space felt so roomy, I get why the tables were all taken. PARKING Street parking is available, yet when I was there in the early afternoon on a Tuesday, it was packed! The only place to park was the paid parking lot right across from Damo. Parking was $5.00. I wouldn't recommend parking elsewhere outside of that street, as it is a sketchy area and lots of homeless encampments around the area. Would I return? Not sure. I like the large, roomy warehouse space with lots of tables to sit in, but the cafe being in a sketchy area gives me hesitation. Not in love with $5.00 parking too. One of my drinks was good, but the other was bad. The only thing I loved was the financiers.
