We've been here a few times now. I've tried the Matcha coconut (water) full sweet and %50 sweet both are so good I recommend it if you like matcha. I've also tired the Creme Brulee Milk Tea, and the Thai milk tea. The Creme Brulee Milk Tea is really good I recommend it everyone, the Thai milk tea was good but nothing special. I think their speciality drinks are the way to go. The girls working there are always so nice, they even let us have our lunch there once it was a good place to eat and cool off on a hot day with our ice cold teas. Checked out Sun Tea in Montebello today with some friends. We ordered the coconut mango cloud, mango grapefruit boom tea, venti fresh fruit tea and strawberry matcha. Sun Tea uses fresh fruits to craft their drinks and are fruit forward. We enjoyed all the fresh fruit we had in our drinks and did not have to adjust the sugar levels. My favorite would have to be the coconut mango cloud. The coconut pudding and the mashed mango blended well together pairing the two in harmony. It was lightly sweet and creamy from the coconut bringing out the mango flavor. The dorayaki flavor we chose was the red bean. The pancake outside was soft and fluffy. We asked the barista to warm it up so the red bean inside was warm. It was soft and pillowy and not too sweet from the red bean. They have parking in a lot and around the corner on the street. The location are right at the corner of montebello blvd and cleveland ave, so if you arrive at the plaza parking lot, they are a bit hidden. Had to circle the plaza a couple of times before realizing they are not visible from the parking lot. Tried the passion mango boom tea. I don't really understand the 'boom' concept though, i thought it comes with popping boba, but it's not. Make sure you ask for less sweet or maybe even less than 50% sweet because mine at normal sugar level is way too sweet and too syrup-y. There's real fruit in it but maybe it's my batch but it was not delightful. The mango is not the super ripe kind, and the passion fruit seeds (which normally a nice crunch) was crushed and tough. It's very clean and nicely decorated with a lot of seating available inside. It's definitely a nice spot to catch up with friends!! Staff answered all my questions, and staff continuously worked in the background despite this business feeling empty. My drink took about two minutes. Very fast! As mentioned, I enjoyed the Orange Boom Tea ($6.80 - 100% Sweetness Default) with Boba (additional 99 cents). With thin orange slices floating within, the liquid tasted cool and refreshing. The ingredients felt fresh and crisp. Surprisingly, the boba came hot, lightly sweetened with a very soft, supple squish. These fresh boba had an unexpected light bounce. "Tasty!" Regarding ambiance, SunTea (Montebello) is somewhat comfortable. There's plenty of tables and seats. The interior has nine tables, one long table, and a few plump couches. The outside patio has nine outside tables with shade. Unfortunately, the location has only two electrical outlets. Fortunately, there's internet with password for customers. Customers need to ask staff for the information. SunTea (Montebello) is also clean. The floors are well swept. The tables are smooth and shiny. There's no unsightly webs in the corners. The air felt well-ventilated. There's even a gender neutral restroom for customers in the back. I also appreciated the upbeat music and vibrant, well-maintained walls. If I were to nitpick, the couches look worn down with dark marks. These couches looked unappealing to sit upon like a lightly stained seat in an aging public bus. Overall, I appreciated my experience at SunTea (Montebello). I enjoyed the Orange Boom Tea ($6.80 - 100% Sweetness Default) with Boba (additional 99 cents). The drinks were very flavorful--definitely on the pricier side, but if you're looking for something tasty, this spot delivers. I ordered the big fruit tea, which is more like a fruit cup with some tea (lol) but the fruit is so good and the tea was so well-sweetened to compliment the actual fruits inside.
